Husband and I moved back from Maryland to here, upon getting this as our pcp is regrettably bad. The front office lady is blatantly complicated and refused to make things right for us. We called two months ago that I'm a deaf person and bring my own interp. That is apparently not a case when we paid a visit. She made every excuses on why, but and what. Husband's appointment is 10 mins from my appointment, they said dr is running late and that I'll wait until husband's session is done. After his session is wrapped up, she came up with different excuse, I can't be seen because it is 4:20 ish now and would need to be rescheduled. According to ADA laws- "This publication is designed to help title II and title III entities ("covered entities") understand how the rules for effective communication, including rules that went into effect on March 15, 2011, apply to them. The rules apply to communicating with the person who is receiving the covered entity's goods or services as well as with that person's parent, spouse, or companion in appropriate circumstances." They refused to see me because I don't want to use Video relay internet (they're utterly inconvenient and the quality isn't consistent) and they changed their mind after husband's appointment. I'm leaving this review a one star review. This is a disappointing experience. Edit: update 2- Your response is once again validating my complaint. My original appointment is today, 30th of August at 340pm. I haven't missed it. See the screenshots showing the timestamp from few days ago I received a reminder.. I also took a screenshot of your response as evidence to support my concern. As for accommodation, I have the rights to opt in/out/other options. You cannot force me to use something that I'm not comfortable with and is in violation of ada if you insists. learned that I'm not only one victim of front office's shenanigans. Multiple similar situations.

I have been in healthcare almost my entire life. When I moved to Austin I engaged with an Internist…read moreand was fairly satisfied until realizing she was not looking at my 'whole self'. I was working and stressed so much I just did not have the energy to look elsewhere but realized I really needed a change. Late last year I began looking for that change to a new provider and found Flora Medical Clinic. Again, I have had an intimate professional healthcare background and experienced many healthcare providers in my life but there are unfortunately too few who really care about their patients, listen and provide interest, guidance and explanation regarding why healthcare advice is being given. Dr. Kolte is one in a million. She challenges me to be what I have looked for to tackle my few health issues and her nutritional guidance is amazing. She cannot do this on her own so YOU need to listen and be willing to try, try, try. On top of Dr. Kolte's great professional and caring nature she then has a staff who is responsive, professional and kind. My last Internist I was lucky to get a phone call returned and the front desk receptionist always appeared unhappy. I am slowly making changes in my nutritional foundation to improve my health. I thought I was eating healthy and was doing what I was told over the last several years which is opposite of what I am now being guided towards a better nutritional way of thinking. Hey, we live in the South, I traveled so much for work (lots of restaurant food) but now retired early to finally focus on me. Dr. Kolte and her team are amazing. I always feel like someone cares when I leave my office visits. Folks, that is rare in today's healthcare world. I know. I have seen it across the states. Patience, caring, listening and allows questions. THAT is what makes her great. Namaste.

I have been looking for a…read morelong time for a primary care physician that I felt comfortable with and who I felt like actually cared about my well-being. Now I have found that. Dr. Aguirre is very responsive to my questions and concerns and takes the time to explain everything fully. She also considers my input so that we made decisions about my medical together. I never feel rushed with her. Her and her assistant are very thorough. I never have a problem with being able to communicate with her assistant via phone and messages, unlike many of the other doctors I see and have seen in the past. Now I do need to say that I did see a few doctors at APC over the span of a couple years before I saw Dr. Aguirre and I did not feel like the treatment or service was the same at all. I was not happy with my experience. In fact, the visit when I met Dr. Aguirre was the last chance I was giving the place, but apparently there have been many changes made to their practices and policies and ultimately to the way patients are treated. My initial visits are why I can only give the place 4 stars and not a full 5, but my recent visits over the last 6 months would be a 5 star review.

I have been a patient at Austin Primary Care Physicians for over 8 years. If you value your time…read moreand money, don't go here. I usually avoid this office but have yet to find a new one. It was finally the last straw for me. The wait time to see a doctor is usually pretty lengthy, if you want to see one of the MDs. But what really disappoints me is how poorly managed the office staff are. They are unfriendly, rude, unorganized, and completely uneducated about the field they are working in. Getting a referral is like pulling teeth, it takes forever and no one calls back. I ran into this problem 4 years ago, and here I am again in a similar situation. It is extremely disappointing they don't get referrals in, in a timely manner. I came to see one of their new NPs. or PAs. I came in on August 3rd for a referral. I was assured the referral would take a couple days but that it would be fine if I made my specialist appointment a week after coming in for the referral. Well, a month later I get a pretty high bill from the specialist office because my referral wasn't sent in until 20-25 days after my initial visit to this office. I am now being billed hundreds of dollars for both visits because I went twice without a referral, which was then billed as out of network. I am now tasked with appealing to my insurance due to this PCP office's inadequacy at running their office.

Update: I think Sheila cares. However, her approach to addressing my ever-changing strange…read moresymptoms was to send me to specialist after specialist who, one after one, told me nothing was wrong. She shunted me off to many specialists, but never the one I needed. It was a chiropractor -- a chiropractor-- who finally sent me to the right specialist who diagnosed me with a life-long condition. A chiropractor did what she and another doctor I saw couldn't. And I'm 2 years delayed in getting treatment. Oh well. She did her best, i suppose. Original review. I saw Dr Shung for several years before switching to a more convenient doctor. To address complaints in other yelp reviews: she runs her office lean. It is her and her nurse. Her nurse does double (maybe triple) duty as nurse and reception. Other doctor offices run with 3-4 people. I don't fault Dr. Shung for running lean. Making money as a primary care physician is hard with our managed care setup in this country. She also doesn't always stay on schedule, but her patients ALWAYS get the time they need. Always. She listens. She obviously cares, but it is undoubtedly true that the way she does business creates inconvenience for her patients. If you are aware of this and patient enough, she's a good primary care physician. I personally wish she would make changes to address the delays, but I can't fault her for trying to both focus on patient care and make a decent living. She's a good doctor, and that counts for a lot. I've seen several and fired most of them for being perfunctory and not listening well. These doctors have different priorities. I like dr. Shung's priorities better. I didn't fire her. I just switched for convenience and now I'm with a doctor who draws a salary from a clinic that allots 30 minutes per patient. He can do this because he's semi-retired after a long career working in hospitals as a specialist. The clinic can do it because they are a large operation and make their profit through other services. But I do not expect an independent business owner doctor to be able to do the same and keep her practice open. So know this going in and enjoy a quality experience in the exam room

Over the years my conditions have flummoxed and bamboozled many specialists before nailing down answers and therapies. Throughout the ups and downs, Dr. Lewis has been a rock solid, effective, thoughtful, and calm partner in my search for answers. He communicates well with me as well as the other doctors and medical specialists that hammer away at my fairly dilapidated body. Dr. Lewis is like an anchor in the storm of craziness that is my health history. As is probably obvious, I like that guy and highly recommend him.

They leave the phone off the hook so that no one can get through, I was on hold for 3+ hours until my phone died. Forget it if you have a UTI, first urine test no cultures were ordered, 2nd test I was prescribed 5 days of antibiotics for 3 different things that showed up, now they want a 3rd test in as many weeks. As much as I like the doctor himself I am not going to deal with office staff like this. I hope to hear his office staff is fired and I will go back at that point. It really is a shame because he is a good doctor and I enjoyed going to him. I am not sure who needs this info, but I was floored to find out just how egregious the care from this PA was. First UTI lab cultures, on average, per the CDC, give a false negative 33% of the time. Next a new culture should not be ordered for at a minimum of 3 days after the last dose of antibiotics and 7 days is the standard minimum recommendation. In other words any clinician ordering labs directly after a course of antibiotics is gas lighting every single person into believing they have some other issue, primarily pelvic floor issues and they recommend bathroom training schedules for pelvic floor issues, so hold your urine despite being told to drink absurd amounts of water so you are very actively making the situation worse and then clinicians wonder why there are resistant strains. "Healthcare professionals" are prescribing low doses that strengthen the resistance and then further increasing the resistance through gas lighting people to hold their pee for hours, I dumfounded beyond belief, just goes to show that you absolutely must do your own research. Is this some sort of bizarre and sick experiment on American women? I also have zero doubt that if this were primarily a male issue that this would not be going on.

This was one of the most disheartening and discouraging healthcare experiences I've ever had -- and what makes it worse is that it was my first time seeking help for my mental health in over 15 years. I grew up in an environment where asking for help -- especially when it came to medication for mental health -- was seen as a weakness. So it took everything in me to finally overcome that and make an appointment. After a particularly overwhelming six months, I built up the courage to be honest about what I was struggling with and what had worked for me in the past. I wasn't demanding anything -- I was simply trying to communicate openly, hoping for a supportive and respectful conversation about my care. Instead, I was met with judgment and ultimately rejection by Harley Berning. She initially prescribed me a lower dose of the medication I mentioned -- no concerns or hesitation. But after I followed up with a message asking if this was the right plan going forward, everything changed. My prescription was suddenly revoked after it had already been sent in and paid for, and I was told she could no longer continue my care. It felt like I was being punished for being honest. I was mischaracterized, dismissed, and made to feel like I had done something wrong just for asking questions and advocating for myself. That kind of distrust -- especially when someone is finally trying to seek help after years of struggling -- is incredibly damaging. This experience didn't just shake my trust in one provider. It made me question whether I should have ever reached out in the first place. And I imagine I'm not the only one who's walked away from One Medical feeling like this. If you're someone who's anxious, vulnerable, or trying to overcome the stigma of getting mental health care -- be careful. I wanted this to be a step toward healing, and instead it left me feeling worse than when I started.
