Let me start by saying that I've known some excellent doctors, and have had a couple of…read moreearth-shatteringly bad experiences as well. Dr. Julie Reardon has surpassed my wildest expectations of what a family physician CAN--and is willing--to do. I think that's in part because she is a phenomenal physician and person, and I suppose the Harvard education and work with Dr. Andrew Weil doesn't hurt. I'll add that all of the folks in her office are equally as competent and caring. If you are contemplating a visit to Dr. Reardon, it's because you haven't been feeling as well as you should--probably for quite some time. Your insurance-covered doctor has run some general tests that haven't shown anything all that extraordinary; and while you may greatly respect your PCP as I do, you realize that time and budget constraints limit the ability to which they can explore your issues. You may have been told that it's your impending menopause, or your weight, or that you perhaps should consider antidepressants. This is the state of medicine in our current era of managed care, and it's nobody's fault. Sometimes it just IS. Know that, if you can afford her services, "Dr. Julie" will leave no stone unturned in helping you find that road to recovery. She's not one of those "vanity doctors" who will hand you creams, diets, and vitamins to make you ageless and extra hot...although feeling better usually makes you look better! She's a serious, science-based physician with an uncanny ability to relate the typically unrelated, and see the "big picture" of your health situation. In our initial visit, she caught on to trending issues I'd never thought of before, including a potential genetic makeup that leaves me prone to certain problems with mood and energy level that are exacerbated by stress...and I've had a year of that! She ran a gamut of tests after explaining the purpose of each one, and uncovered a problem so critical it was a wonder I even had the energy to get out of bed in the morning. I am no less impressed with our follow-up discussions. She has referred to another provider for an area outside of her realm, and also recommended simple vitamin and supplement changes that will do me a world of good. At the same time, she's not that earth-crunchy guru that's going to mandate that that you live on purified air and chants...hers are moderate lifestyle changes for real people living in our everyday world. Dr. Julie doesn't take insurance, but that allows her to spend true quality time with the patients who sign on with her. I will say that, for the fees involved, I feel like it's been a very good choice for my healthcare dollars. I am finally getting some solid answers as to why I've felt HORRIBLE over just this last year, and I finally feel confident knowing someone's got my back while I take steps to get better. I think there are a lot of docs out there who dream of having a practice like Dr. Julie's--and she has made that dream a reality. When I think about how quickly Dr. Julie started "cracking the case", and all the co-pays and labs past that never quite addressed my issue, I realize that I have now SAVED time and money in the long run. What's more...I could have gotten REALLY sick were it not for Dr. Julie and her findings. She very well might have saved my future from being...well, not so bright. Thinking about calling for an appointment with Dr. Julie Reardon? I say go for it...you will NOT regret it, and you have everything to gain.

Front desk and scheduling staff are always pleasant and helpful. After a decade and a half in west ATX, I finallllly found a fabulous internist (who serves as my PCP; Dr. SC) at ARC-FP. Yay! Very patient, thorough, takes his time, kind, compassionate...fantastic "bed side manner" and care. Everything you want in a doctor...but, sadly not without some...mmm...negatives. I guess a lot of other people also like Dr. C as much because he's always booked out far. Three plus months in advance to even schedule an annual exam. Eee. And expect to wait a while to be seen after your appointment time (they have comp Wifi; signal can be poor inside building). I think feeling like I'm in great hands is worth a little sacrifice, especially after such a long journey to find somebody I really, really like. Luckily, I found another PCP at a different ARC location (Bee Cave; see review) who usually has same week appointments available when I need to see someone faster (e.g., order labs, GI flareup, respitory infection, etc.). I also found my wonderful rheumatologist at ARC-FP. Dr. K hits all the marks as well. Very kind and so knowledgeable. He quickly Dx a longtime issue I had been suffering with, and continues to assist me on my journey to gain mobility and PRAY someday be pain free. I really appreciate everybody at Austin Regional Clinic Four Points. They are always very busy so some patience is required; however, they still manage to make me feel important and truly cared about. I'll take is as a W. :D

It's a blessing and a curse, because he's so popular! Mariana Racovita- I recently had an acute visit with Mariana and she was wonderful. Kind, courteous and more importantly thorough. I'd love to continue seeing her as well. The other staff (medical assistants and front desk) have been good for the most part. I truly feel heard, supported, and cared for by her -- and that's rare, especially in ADHD care. I'm so grateful for her! That said, this review is three stars because of the front office staff. I've only had two phone interactions with the office since returning to care, and unfortunately, both were unnecessarily rude and condescending. The first was regarding a same day schedule change the office requested less than an hour before my appointment. When I couldn't accommodate the new time due to work, I was met with clear frustration and no flexibility. So I just made it work anyway. The second happened today: I had a virtual appointment this morning, and moments ago received a phone call demanding immediate payment -- not just for today's appointment, but also for one from a month ago that I hadn't even been notified about until just an hour earlier from my insurance. When I asked if I could pay through the portal, I was repeatedly pressured to pay over the phone instead, as if I was avoiding the bill. I have no issue paying my bill, and in fact, I paid it immediately after the call ended. But I was spoken to as if I had ignored multiple invoices, and the tone felt aggressive and was incredibly inappropriate. I understand that medical offices deal with difficult patients all the time. But kindness should be the standard, not the exception, especially when both phone calls I've had with your office staff have left a bad taste in my mouth. Thankfully, Dr. Ince makes it worth continuing care. But I'm genuinely relieved that my appointments are virtual, because based on how I've been treated, I have no desire to deal with this staff in person.

I was on an important call with my doctor and politely asked for a moment, but she rushed me and said I had to fill out the form right that second or she would reschedule my appointment. At my first annual physical with Fagerberg, my bloodwork showed slightly elevated TSH level. No T3 or T4 ordered. Fagerberg diagnosed me with hypothyroidism and put me on too high of a high dose of thyroid meds. I questioned the diagnosis but she insisted I would feel better. The dose was so high that my TSH level fell to zero and I was now diagnosed with hyperthyroidism, with severe symptoms of sleeplessness, hair loss, and quick weight loss. My body became out of whack. I went to an endocrinologist who removed all meds and after three months, did bloodwork and got a new baseline. He put me on a low dose of thyroid meds. I went for bloodwork every two months and he adjusted the thyroid meds for two more years, but I never believed the original diagnosis since there was no thyroid disease in my family history. I also charted my thyroid bloodwork for ten years prior and saw fluctuations that were consistent to what I had seen with bloodwork done by Fagerberg. Two months ago, after consulting with yet another endocrinologist, I stopped the thyroid meds. I got new bloodwork today and all thyroid numbers came in normal. I feel fine and am very glad that I listened to myself and forced the issue. I suffered terribly due to the bad diagnosis, bad treatment, and having to take a medication that not only seriously affects your body, but is difficult to impossible to get off of as it is a drug for life. All this suffering because of Fagerberg's bad diagnosis and lack of listening to the patient.
