Alan welcomed us in, early Sunday lunch - ended up brunch! Can't recommend enough, made us feel like we've been coming here for years. Walked us through the entire menu. Need to definitely come back for happy hour. In typical Miami fashion happy hour (s) is Monday through Friday 3 to 7. The feel is welcoming with a live DJ , modern retro industrial, if that is a thing. Bloody Mary s were very tasty. Ate the meatballs before the picture oops. Very flavorful and light. read more

We came for lunch on a Wednesday. This place has always been packed when we try to come at night. There is paid parking but the bar will validate your parking just make sure to ask when you arrive. I had "They Call Her Lola" cocktail and it did not disappoint. I'm not usually a fan of sweeter drinks but this was light and subtle. Really enjoyed it! For food we ordered the Thorn Burger, Natty Jack Burger, and the waygu meatballs. Everything was seasoned well-- the fries were fresh and crispy. We like the meatballs the best. For dessert we shared the bread pudding from their in house partner Cry Baby. Music and staff were great as well. We opted to sit at the bar and the bartender Fiona was very sweet and friendly. Would recommend Thorn hand down. My biggest tip is to come during lunch/early happy hour to get the best experience. This place is popular! We had been trying to go for months but it is really packed at night and happy hour (which is a great sign). read more

This little gem packs a big punch! If you're looking for some Miami bar scene on bird road you've found your spot! Let's start with the food: The bulgogi fries are an absolute must! The sauce and meat on these fries is so good I could eat the whole bowl by myself! Next we had the wagyu meatballs and unfortunately the phone did not eat first because those babies were so good they flew off the table!! Pizza is always good and they have a good variety for everyone's preference! Next up we have the drink: all the cocktails are also super good and fairly priced for miami standards. My favorite is the sunset dream but with guava instead of pineapple (apparently this was an original recipe that got changed, but the pineapple one is still really good!) In terms of beer they have so many options for everyone's preferences! The wait staff is chill and friendly so makes it a nice little night out. The place is small but always packed! Even on a Monday they have a pretty good crowd! Good thing is they do validate parking for up to 3hours, who doesn't love free parking! Best part of it all, cry baby cookies to go!! read more

Such a cute place and concept! I can't wait to see where this place goes! Me and some girlfriends decided to share the caesar salad and fries with the Lola cocktail. Jolene is the best bartender and we come here just for her! Cute date spot for sure. And we love the back area with the fire pit and cornhole. Great places to have a drink and mingle over shared food. Kind of tucked into an apartment complex. They validate parking for 2 hours. read more

Love the place!! Great ambiance to relax! Good food too!! Definitely would return !! Drinks are good some need to be a bit stronger- prices like everywhere else on the high side!! read more

Firepit does it again. Completely new concept. If you're used to the homey bar and beer scene this place will knock your socks off. Super fancy and full of the Miami ambience you except from a loungey type place. Hand crafted cocktails with infused spirits are featured heavily on the menu. Chef driven small plates for you to share with your friends and scraff on your own. And Cry Baby Ice Cream has a booth to take care of your sweet tooth. The area is really coming up. Located in a new building complex, if you are in the area you need to come and give them a try. read more

Service and food were good. Good luck with the parking. It's almost impossible. They should help with that somehow.

I would give Thorn a 5 but it was just too hot and the music was really loud. Besides that, the food and drinks were amazing and the ambiance had a very urban, hipster vibe. I loved my 3 delinquent cocktail with habanero tequila. Happy hour on Friday gets very crowded, I get it...the place is really good and the food is super tasty but I would love to go back at a less popular hour to really enjoy the experience. read more

I have yet to try to the oysters during happy hour but the drinks are very yummy. It's located behind an apartment building and the parking is kinda tricky but highly recommend drinks and chicken wings. read more

I went here for happy hour with co workers on St. Patty's and had a great time. The Doug's old fashioned was my go to drink and it was delicious. Strong and smelled like banana bread - YUM! We ordered a few plates the share - bulgogi fries (meat was tender and the seasoning paired perfectly with the freshly fried potatoes) and hummus (it wasn't too bad, fresh and a great veggie option). A few friends ordered the hot honey truffle wings and they said they were really good. Our waiter was a total sweetheart, so service wasn't too bad for a holiday. Ended our night at Cry Baby for a scoop of ooey gooey - perfect combo of savory and sweet in an ice cream. Cry baby has perfected that to a science. I would totally come again for another Happy Hour or dinner date night. read more

Service is pretty terrible, parking is impossible, cocktail was barely palatable. One star for average food , it was not too pricey, so I guess that was good and the cry baby ice cream was great. I would come back for the ice cream and the service there was great. read more

Open late and great wings and croquetas! The service was pretty good, but not so personal. Drinks were okay. Good neighborhood bar food. Parking was a hassle hence the 3 stars. Overall pretty good. read more

Thorn - Cocktail Bars Near Me - Miami, Florida

There's a wonderful spot I just found hidden away from the hustle and bustle of Bird Road. Thorn is exactly what the 33155 needed. A place to get away and leave your worries at the door. Forget your drama and grab a cocktail (or three) with friends! The music is always on point with great DJs who will have you dancing the night away. The staff is always super friendly, and the service is great! The crowd is great for making new friends. I love their happy hour with a variety of seasonal drinks - and let me tell you, they get creative! The food was amazing, I highly recommend trying their pizza and burgers. The ambiance is just right, with perfect lighting and eclectic furniture, making it the perfect spot for date night. Parking is paid for up to three hours. I'll definitely be returning for my specialty drinks, and I would recommend Thorn to anyone in the area. read more

I went in for the Cry Baby Ice cream and found a new cocktail bar I love! This hidden gem is around the corner from a post office, so a bit tricky to find if you don't have a gps. However parking is easy (you can validate for up to 3 hrs inside the bar). Additionally, probably one of the best happy hours in westchester! 3-7pm mon.-fri. And most dishes are $15 and under and you get some delicious dishes. A medium size pizza with a dough that was amazingly tasty and wood oven cooked with fresh ingredients was $10 during happy hour. The service was also excellent and the music was nice and chill in the background. A great spot to check out with friends or even on a date. read more

Possibly the cheapest happy hour in Miami; for now. Hence an extra star. Thorn is located between two brand new apartment buildings across from AD Doug Barnes park. Parking is severely limited next to the location, with a new overflow dirt parking lot. Both are private pay to park. Better option is to Uber there. Reservations as of this writing are by calling ahead. On weekends this is a must. Service is glacial but super friendly. The drinks are great, but top shelf is limited (ie no Grey Goose or Hendricks). The draw--for me--are the dollar oysters. You can't get enough! Unfortunately they have one shucker and he was overwhelmed on a Friday night. So much so that we never ordered a second round of a dozen. The food is typical bar food with a wide selection and again the draw: cheap. We had a meat ball (very small not a Doc Bs meatball), pizza (good) and burger (ok). All very cheap. Fridays they have a DJ that played a nice mix. The crowd is super eclectic with a good mix of Gables, Westchester and South Miami residents and students. These prices won't last for long. So if they raise the prices, then correspondingly the service, food, and selection have to correspondingly increase and be better. Otherwise, it's just a three star bar at the fringes of the Gables/South Miami food area with Gables prices and a loss of that star. read more

Great hidden spot for drinks and casual food. Although they were short staffed, the service didn't suffer. The white pizza, meatballs, and burger were great! Margaritas were also a hit, spicy but good. read more

Love everything about this place including the charming owners. Lots of fun and cant wait to go back

Found this place on bird within a complex and let me tell you it did not disappoint. They had a great happy menu. We tasted a little bit of everything and repeated a few. The drinks were strong but yet tasty. The dj was also playing some great music so it definitely set the vibe for us. The service was quick and the place had a nice edgy touch to it. The plus thing was that they also have an ice cream place located inside. Will totally come back. read more

was truly blown away by this place. I came for brunch and every item we tried was a 10/10. The location has a cool, low-key vibe, and the staff couldn't have been nicer. The drinks were excellent--the espresso martini in particular stood out. A great spot all around. read more

Thorn - two glasses of alcohol on a wooden table - Cocktail Bars Near Me - Miami, Florida

Thorn is a great cocktail bar in the heart of bird road. They have the greatest happy hour Mon-Fri 3pm-7pm..you can't beat that! The music is always the right vibe. The general manager, Erika, greeted us at our table and recommended a few drinks and appetizers. She's amazing. All the bartenders and servers work great as a team and were always having fun. Don't skip out on the Thorn Burger and get a side of truffle aioli for your fries! You won't regret it! read more

Food was delicious. Small place but lots of fun energy. We had drinks and shared a few of the appetizers. The meatball was good.

Huge fan of this spot for its delicious cocktails, great beer selection and the chill vibe. Staff is attentive. Lately the food has been extremely salty. Natty jack burger one of my faves was inedible and a few other items we shared also salty. Not sure if its someone new in the kitchen but please get that fixed. read more

The food was great! Shareable plates! The wagyu meatballs were delicious, served in sauce with a dollop of ricotta cheese. Not your average meatballs. These were off the chain. We tried two different burgers, don't remember the names but they were both excellent! They have one the best IPA's on tap! (P.swayze) Bartender attended with great service and offered great recommendations! Theres a lot of outside seating! Cool classic spot! I'll be visiting again soon! read more

Parking is a challenge but nice place for hanging out with friends. Place has a nice vibe and good bartenders.

Thorn is a true Miami gem. The food (whether oysters, croquetas, or anything in between) is delicious and well prepared, and the bartenders are obviously passionate about their craft. I recommend the Hialeah Isopropyl and the Bidet Water--playfully named yet elegant cocktails. Alan provided exceptional service, and Turrent prepared amazing drinks. 10/10. read more

This is my favorite cocktail bar in Miami. They provide the best customer service and really go above and beyond. They make you feel just like you're right at home. And don't get me started with the food. I haven't tried anything on the menu I didn't like. They have amazing happy hour Monday through Friday from 3 to 7. Also have amazing brunch, Saturdays and Sundays from 11 to 3. Just make sure to get there early because it gets packed on weekends. They usually have live DJs on the weekends too and the music is on point. They also do sports events. You have to pay for parking but they validate for 3 hours. And as an added bonus, they have cry baby icecream right next door. You can't go wrong with this bar. Best bar in the zip code if you ask me. read more

Honestly this place is a whole vibe. It's like Cheers but younger lol. The pizza is AMAZING! But seriously I've never tasted anything there I didn't like. They have the best happy hour from 3-7. They also have a live DJ some nights. A cool place to go on a first date or even a fun night out with your hubby or friends. The best part is the staff though. Lo, Fiona, Allen, Azarie, Ari, Larry and Yuli just to name a few. Okay I know I sound like I was paid to write this review. But I swear I wasn't. I just live nearby and can't stay away! Lol. Trust me on this one, you won't regret it. read more

Quick little date night idea. Decided to stop by for the second time and I was hoping the menu would have changed/improved being that I was last here months again. To my surprise, it was still About the same thing. Due to my negative experience with the wings, i was limited on options (i do not eat beef or pork). Figured you can't really mess up a Margherita pizza so i ordered that. I came on a Sunday night and even one of the employees said it's not that busy. You would think drinks/food would be coming out fast or at least the cocktail. Unfortunately, everything took about 25 minutes or more. I didn't mind spending 2 hours but it realistically could've been done in a much shorter time span. Our server was very friendly though and made sure we had everything we needed including water. I don't think I'd come back again in a while. The one part that really makes the night worth it was the live DJ. He was mixing good jams and I appreciated the vibe he set. I think it's cool if you wanna check out something new but don't expect much from their menu. The cocktails were strong tho so i appreciate it read more

Came to thorn for the first time since my friend has been talking about how amazing the food is here. I liked the place however did not have the best experience with the food or maybe my palate is not as adventurous as I thought. We ordered the chicken wings and the Cauliflower from the menu. The chicken wings were good but the cauliflower was cold and it did not tasted as I thought. Service was a bit slow but the waitress was nice. As per the ambience I really liked it, music the vibe was great. Will go again to try more stuff. Also parking is not the best, but atleast they give you 2 free hours read more

Mediocre food. Bad slow service and predatory parking practices. 2x I've gone paid for parking and private parking company gives you a bs $55 ticket anyway. Cool it's local but not worth it. Screw this place read more

Can not say enough positive things about Thorn. The food was tasty on point and the cocktail were to die! Our bartender Chib was fantastic. She took great care of us made wonderful suggestions and was a master at crafting a cocktail. The decor is sleek but warm and inviting, lots of outdoor green space coming through the larger window/door spaces. We ate both east and west coast oyster and they were incredibly fresh and shucked to perfection, no shell bit's whatsoever! We ate the Cesar salad which was perfectly dressed and very delish. Then we shared the churrasco steak and potatoes which was chefs kiss delish. The dessert sealed the deal for our return a bread pudding with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and Carmel drizzle...drooling thinking about it! So excited this place exists in my neighborhood, not stuffy and pretentious only good vibes their entire staff was friendly. We can't wait to return to try the other offering in their menu, like the cauliflower or the pizza! We will be back repeatedly. read more
