I went with a couple of friends on Sunday for the Salsa Brunch. Great music but not too loud. We were still able to converse comfortably. One of my friends had a couple of Bloody Marys, one had a couple of spicy Margaritas. She said she liked the jalapeno one better than the habanero. I chose my drink from the cocktail menu but I don't remember the name. It had pineapple and rum and is served in a martini glass. Shhh! I had 3 We ordered the fish dip which was delicious and plentiful. Instead of chips, it's served with spicy plantain chips. We shared a Marguerite pizza and Caesars salad. So good!! So good!! This is a solid spot located right near Westchester in an apartment complex that's off of Bird Road right near 72 avenue. It's awesome to see this area have good places to grab a cocktail and a meal. It's casual, with ample indoor and outdoor seating and also family friendly during the day and early evening. I have been a few times and enjoyed wine, and martinis for drinks. I also have had their wings which are amazing. Their pizza is great, too. Overall - this spot is affordable with great food and good drinks. The best part - they will validate your parking in the pay by phone lot for 2 hours I believe. There is not a lot of parking tho, so I would suggest ubering if you are planning on enjoying drinks. read more

We went to Thorn during happy hour with a group of 12, and the service was great. They were able to accommodate our large group without any issues, which we really appreciated. The food was good overall simple American-style dishes. Nothing fancy or particularly amazing, but it didn't taste bad either and was solid for happy hour. The drinks, however, were not great and were probably the weakest part of the experience. I'm still in my mocktail era and the reset button nailed it! The food was good, the drinks were fair and precisely measured unless you are their friend or doing shots with your fellow bartender. Because the bartenders are too busy hanging amongst themselves and are visibly doing their own shots, the drinks kinda sucked. To eat, I had the oysters, which were fresh, and the sriracha truffle wings. The wings were okay. They could have been cooked better and you couldn't really taste the truffle. The happy hour menu is decent. The ambiance is relaxing and the staff is nice. Now they validate parking which is a plus. Cry baby is no longer there but Thorn has deserts of its own. We came here for happy hour (3-7p) during the week. Place was clean but we opted to sit outside. There were plenty of fans outside but the flies were still messing with our food/drinks, but that's the norm when sitting outside. We ordered a meatball , a double smash burger, and a cheese pizza, and that's how I'd rank them. The meatball was good, served with a pita style bread and some cheese. The burger came with fries and was only topped with pickles. And the cheese pizza was a bit greasy but I guess for bar food, it wasn't bad. Came to this location from Broward because they had advertised a Taylor Swift listening party. To our surprise it was everything but that. As we arrived the service seemed very slow or they forgot to put our drink order in. The important part is they had been promoting a listening party for about two weeks which we were very excited to attend. The DJ played about 5 Taylor songs the whole time we were there about 1:30-4:00. Not to take away from him talent because he was a good DJ but it was not what was promoted/adverised. There were a couple of groups of swifties which left disappointed due to the false advertisement. Well, thats not the case here. My wife and I have been going here quite routinely for some time now and I'd venture to say enough of the staff would consider us regulars. To us, this is our local watering hole and it hits enough check marks to continue being so. Whether here for the drinks, the vibe/music, the varied selection of food, theme events or sometimes just to people (and dog!) watch...you'll need to visit more than once to truly appreciate all it brings to the table (pun!). 'El Muerto' and 'Doug's Old fashioned' are great spins on some tried and true drinks. The bulgogi fries, Breakfast pizza, Natty burger are great...they have the best Ceasar salad around and while Oysters aren't my thing everyone I know that has them keeps coming back for more. A hidden gem right near my house! Looking for a bar with good food and ice-cream... this is the place for you. I love their cocktails. My favorite is "They Call Me Lola". It's a flirtier aperol spritz. I loved the food. I have had their bulgogi fries and bbq chicken pizza and enjoyed both. They are definitely bard food quality but a good bite nonetheless. The vibes here can be very calm however, there are some nights where they get jam packed and parking can be a pain when this happens. Thorn also has an ice-cream shop inside so when you are done with drinking you can get a delicious sweet treat. Love this place, I have been over three times since I discovered them. read more

Ran it back to Thorn for happy hour with coworkers and I must say it was undoubtedly a 5/5 experience! Alan was our server and he did really well even though we had a pretty big party! He was super friendly, attentive and patient! I was also super impressed because there were no order mix ups or things we had to remind him about. His memory has to be impeccable because he even remembered exactly who ordered what at our table without having to ask the names again. Definitely would opt to have him as our server every time because he definitely helped in elevating the overall experience for us. On top of that they had a DJ woohoo! And the sound wasn't too loud/overstimulating. DJ was pretty good about playing a nice mix of different kinds of music. My party was particularly fond of all the old schools hits haha. Food was impeccable as always! My party loved the cheese fries paired with the sauce the most. Pizza was sooo good. The crust was nice and thin and the amount of cheese they put on was perfect wow. Holy happy hour! (Which takes place from 3:30-7.) This cute bar is situated among what looks like residential buildings. It is pay for parking, but if you are dining with the restaurant they validate. So, it turns out free. The establishment itself reminds me of an upscale dive bar (if such a thing exists). There's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. All the staff we encountered were very accommodating. We started with beer (the draft were all locals) and they were bogo. And we were pleasantly surprised when we could mix and match them. Then we ordered their apps from the Happy Hour menu, all fairly priced with good portions and flavor. We ordered the burger, a pizza, and wings. Between the 3 of us we were all able to eat well and still had leftovers. The real star of the show here, were the cocktails and the vibe. My favorite drink was the Lola. It is a refreshing take on an Aperol Spritz. I also tried the Bad Juju and the Tres Delinquentes (very spicy). I genuinely liked all of them. The drinks were excellent and so were the appetizers; one of the bartenders had graduated from the school where we all worked so I think she gave us some extra TLC, but it was definitely a positive experience on a weekday.
