Holy happy hour! (Which takes place from 3:30-7.) This cute bar is situated among what looks like residential buildings. It is pay for parking, but if you are dining with the restaurant they validate. So, it turns out free. The establishment itself reminds me of an upscale dive bar (if such a thing exists). There's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. All the staff we encountered were very accommodating. We started with beer (the draft were all locals) and they were bogo. And we were pleasantly surprised when we could mix and match them. Then we ordered their apps from the Happy Hour menu, all fairly priced with good portions and flavor. We ordered the burger, a pizza, and wings. Between the 3 of us we were all able to eat well and still had leftovers. The real star of the show here, were the cocktails and the vibe. My favorite drink was the Lola. It is a refreshing take on an Aperol Spritz. I also tried the Bad Juju and the Tres Delinquentes (very spicy). I genuinely liked all of them. As the drinks flowed the DJ played great music and a wide variety, which made for a really fun Friday night out. read more

The ambiance is gorgeous and the drinks divine. Our server was very attentive but the food was very mediocre. My oysters were a bit sandy, the wings not great but the meatball was ok. Would return for the drinks but not the food. read more

How did I not know about this place?! Completely hidden from bird road view, is this hidden Jem on the ground floor of the residential building. Great vibe, great service, great drinks and GREAT music. DJ had us singing and dancing the entire time we were there. Indoor, outdoor and bar seating available, dog friendly and has a little playground for the kids! Brunch: $25 a bottle of Prosecco (not my favorite mimosa package but not terrible); breakfast pizza hit the spot; fries were crispy and seasoned well; steak and eggs were cooked to perfection; the meatballs were too salty but paired well with the cottage cheese; wings were good too. Overall great spot for brunch. Happy hour: loved brunch so much we had to come back for happy hour. Again great music! Drink and oyster deals are worth it! Wine and beer is NOT BOGO it's buy one get one half off! Just fyi. The white pizza was not it! But burgers and fries are delish. Music was also on point once again. Make a reservation though! They close the doors and if you're outside you don't hear the music. But does give a more chill atmosphere. Parking is limited and pricey but Thorn validates it! Make sure you scan the QR code on the menu before paying for parking! read more

Food was okay drinks were okay, happy hour had decent prices for Miami but overall didn't enjoy the ambiance

Thorn is the hotspot right now, so if you haven't gone, GO. I order 'The Regulator' cocktail every time I go! It's a solid 10/10 The gin & guava combo is phenomenal. Thorn has become one of my favorite go-to bars The cocktails are amazing and the place is just a vibeee. The DJ is always on point too. read more

We came during the day and it was a nice place to stop for a drink and apps. It had a cool vibe with a DJ so it was fun but not too loud so it was enjoyable for both us and our kids. The place was very accommodating to our boys. We really enjoyed our drinks and the atmosphere. read more

Pretty good happy hour spot! The wings and pizza were absolutely delicious, and so was the burger. The fries were just frozen fries - nothing to write home about. Not bad at all, just not as amazing as everything else. The drink was great too - it tasted almost like a piña colada. The parking was the most annoying part - I got lucky and found a spot but if you come at the wrong time ... it gets PACKED. And expensive. And the inside is VERY loud - but that makes sense, it's a bar. Super nice wait staff. I'd come back. Definitely want to try the oysters! read more

We came on a Wednesday even right around when happy hour started. There were not any tables available at the time but luckily a group was getting up from the bar. We started the evening off with a tequila shot and some deliciously spicy tequila cocktails called the Delinquintes that was so good! For food we ordered a dozen oysters because they are only $1 during happy hour, one happy hour meatball, and a happy hour pizza. While the meatball and pizza were delicious the oysters we had were not great, my friend had one she swears was rotten while the ones I tasted were sandy and did not have a great flavor. Besides the oysters I would say this place is one of my favorite hidden happy hours I've been to in a while. The atmosphere is great, happy hour cocktails were all delicious, the bar staff was quick and kind. Hoping we just had a bad batch of oysters and I'd be willing to come back and try again because everything else was so wonderful read more

We had an office party at this location and we sat outside. The drinks were excellent and so were the appetizers; one of the bartenders had graduated from the school where we all worked so I think she gave us some extra TLC, but it was definitely a positive experience on a weekday. I have never been there on a weekend. I'm not sure how busy it is, but for Office gatherings it was fun. read more

Decided to have a good start to the year after a rough last one, and couldn't have chosen a better spot! Its got a bit of an "old world" vibe with the furniture and the darker tones, which I personally dig. They got retractable doors which are perfect for chilly days, two outdoor seating areas, and a long standing area in between them. The place does get packed according to the crew so timing, as with most places is important. Pulled up at 5 on the dot, right on time for Happy Hour, which runs from 3-7 (!!!) and a "Sad Hour" from 10-Close as well. Each with special menu items and prices. They also offer a free dozen oysters with a purchase of a wine* bottle. Here's what I had: - $1 Oysters - Natty Jack burger with fries - El Muerto (Espresso Martini with Mezcal and orange hint) - Bad Juju (Gin) - Voodoo Doll (Burbon with some wine) Drinks were all great and well-made, had been a while since I had oysters but were also great. Burger was a straight to the point, classic smashburguesa. Successful first time and great way to kick off the year. Thanks to Lauren and Vanessa for their service, they had the bar buzzing the whole night. Looking forward to coming back for Crybaby which I didn't get to try, have heard great things. Slide to the MLine and see for yourself! read more

I have to say, I dont know what took me so long to write something up about Thorn other than to say I think most of us are quick to make a thing about something when things don't go right. Well, thats not the case here. My wife and I have been going here quite routinely for some time now and I'd venture to say enough of the staff would consider us regulars. To us, this is our local watering hole and it hits enough check marks to continue being so. Whether here for the drinks, the vibe/music, the varied selection of food, theme events or sometimes just to people (and dog!) watch...you'll need to visit more than once to truly appreciate all it brings to the table (pun!). 'El Muerto' and 'Doug's Old fashioned' are great spins on some tried and true drinks. The bulgogi fries, Breakfast pizza, Natty burger are great...they have the best Ceasar salad around and while Oysters aren't my thing everyone I know that has them keeps coming back for more. Lastly, but far from least and what truly keeps you coming back is the staff. Adrian, Bianca, Bridget, Fiona, with special shot out's to Amy, Bridget, Danny (Turant?), Patty and a few OG's that are no longer there (Alan! Greg and Kelly)...lastly..Erika, you do an incredible job and keep the place relevant with a fresh vibe that appeals to all while exhibiting flexibility in exploring different avenues and ideas to keep us coming back for more. If you've thought about stopping in, stop wasting time..if you haven't, maybe its time you do. read more

Came to Thorn to check out their happy hour. For drinks, we ordered: They Call Her Lola - Skyy Vodka, Aperol, Passiontruit, Orange Flower Water Bad Juju - Big Cypress Magic City Gin, Absinthe, Lime, Cucumber, Mint Doug's Old Fashioned - Banana Infused Sisne Whiskey, Brown Sugar, Cinnamon, Black Walnut Bitters All the drinks were well prepared. I would come back and order them again. Not bad for $10. For food were ordered: Chef Fries - Crispy French Fries, Herb Blend, Feathered Parmesan. Delicious!!!! Oysters - they were great and I loved the mignonette Wings - We chose the lemon pepper and it was delicious! Would definitely order them again. Natty Jack Burger - Butcher's Blend Smash Burger, American cheese, house pickle, Potato Roll. The burger was the only thing we were not thrilled about. Everything in it was yummy, except the actual patty, if that makes any sense. lol Can't wait to come back to try more things from the happy hour and regular menu as well read more

Thorn - Sangria Sprits - Cocktail Bars Near Me - Miami, Florida

Hidden gem Great neighborhood bar with amazing drinks and food. Love the atmosphere and laidback vibe.

Thorn just opened downstairs (yes, I am one of the lucky ones who lives in the building next door) and I've visited at least 3x since opening. The menu is small -- there are only 3 main entrees listed -- but the burger and fries are fantastic. Tonight my bf and I tried the Caesar salad and wings (house rub and lemon pepper) and are fans. The only thing I was a bit confused on was the ranch that came with my wings - it definitely tasted more like tzatziki. It was tasty, but not ranch :) Cocktails are also great - "They Call Her Lola" is refreshing and seems to be one of the most ordered drinks on the menu. This place is getting more popular as there really isn't anything like it in this area. I'm next door so I'm definitely returning, but I hope they consider adding a few more options to their menu! read more

i've been wanting to come here for a while as i've heard such great things about thorn. I decided to come here on a saturday night, and it was extremely busy. They had a dj, people dancing and basically if you wanted to hear your friends talk you would have to sit outside. I saw many parties celebrating birthdays and having a great time. I opd for outside seating, and had some cocktails. The cocktails are Amazing!! I've heard their food is good but they were out of a couple things and I only tried the meatballs, and they were extremely cold. I think I would come during happy hour or earlier when they are not so busy to really get the full experience and try their food. read more

Heard of this spot through a friend. As soon as you walk in and see the cool decor and music you immediately know you're in for a chill time. Sat at the bar and was immediately warmly greeted by the bartender. I ordered the mimosa-tini on their Brunch menu and the French toast sticks. Absolutely delish!! My favorite drink though was the "they call me Lola". It was sooooo refreshing and delicious. The only issue we had was a delay in our chicken wings (maybe a kitchen issue) but they were super apologetic about it. Will definitely be back to try other items on menu. read more

A bit difficult to find at first, but it's such a hidden gem. Thorn was a random last-minute find (thanks to Google) but a great spot to catch up with friends: small, modern industrial design and fun cocktail options. (Mine: passion fruit aperol spritz; theirs: something extra sweet). Though we only tried two things (bulgogi fries and bread pudding) the place deserves 5 stars for fantastic service--Alan went above and beyond: helping us find our way from the parking lot, helping us with the app and explaining everything so well. read more

I've been to all other locations that are owned by same ownership and I would say I'm impressed with their selections. Their cocktails are delicious , we tried the Sunset dreams , Tres delinquentes and El muerto. They do have happy hour daily Monday-Friday 3pm-7pm with a huge selection of items. My partner ordered about 24 oysters since during happy hour they are $1. They are absolutely delicious ! We also ordered the Natty burger priced @ $10 during happy hour and the Marg pizza priced @ $10 as well. The atmosphere is very relaxing and it makes you feel as if you aren't in your home town. Talk about vacay vibes haha. Bartenders and staff were very welcoming and attentive, and just our luck today it is R&B night on Valentine's Day. Woot woot Would definitely rate this 10/10! You should definitely check this spot out ! read more

My son suggested this place when I asked for somewhere with a good burger. I was in the mood for something juicy, so I opted for their burger with the fried cheese, since the original burger is a smash burger. My meal did not disappoint! It was juicy and delicious, and the hunk of queso frito was to die for. The server suggested I put the hot honey sauce on the side, and she was correct. Sauce was great for my fries but not on the burger. The place is small but cozy and had a nice vibe. We had a nice time. My only reason for four stars is the limited selection of food and the prices. $60 is a bit steep for two burgers, a beer, and a lemonade! read more

Ok first if you never been here or not going with someone that has, it's hard to find via GPS. It's on Bird rd but it sets back off bird road in between the new apartment buildings, if you go past the post office then you passed it. There is a small driveway right past the sushi restaurant and some parking there. They do validate parking for 3 hrs. OK so the service was great, you are greeted when you step in the door, and you can sit anywhere that is not reserved. There is inside and outside seating. We went for brunch and DJ Marvel was killing it with the music. You can't help but chair dance while eating. Brunch menu while yes it's small but the food was sooooo good. And the drinks, the bartender put his foot in those drinks. This is a great casual spot that I would definitely come back to again. read more

Great little bar that recently opened in the Bird Road area! We love coming here after work for their Monday to Friday happy hour. They have a great selection of bites and drinks on their menu. Our go to bites are their wings, pizzas and their smash burger. Our favorite drinks are the Tres Delinquentes (Spicy Margarita) and El Muerto (Espresso Martini). Everything on the menu is great and we have never been disappointed. This place offers great drinks, bites, service and music! The vibes are just great. read more

We had a great time here. It's a bit hard to find and I don't remember exactly what the deal was, but seems like you paid for your parking and then got a partial reimbursement inside. It's also super popular and crowded on the weekends, so we came mid-week to check it out. The drinks are really cool. I tried They Call Her Lola with sky vodka, Aperol and passion fruit orange flower water. So refreshing. Then I tried a Chim Chim Chiree--apple Jack infused sky vodka with a biscotti liquor and apple juice, and an apple Jack rim. Yummy! We ate from the bar menu. We had oysters, the Margherita pizza and the natty Jack burgers. A very pleasing happy hour spot! read more

Thorn - Call me Lola!!!!! - Cocktail Bars Near Me - Miami, Florida

I have been beasting to try this place for happy hour after hearing some of my Yelp friends talk about it. So when my friend wanted to go out on a Sunday afternoon this wasn't my first thought- but I am glad we decided to come. So it's important that you go to their IG to understand where to park- it's a little confusing- but they do comp parking so it worth it to check before. This place is on bird rd but it's so offset of the road that once you are inside- it feels like you are somewhere else. As you enter you find a very cute space. We ordered some mimosas, beer, brisket fries and bbq chicken pizza. The server passed by frequently to check on us- which inspired us to buy a bottle of wine after the mimosas lol. The brisket fries were DELICIOUS. We really enjoyed the meat, it was tender. The sauce on it was great. The pizza was good- they didn't put onions so it threw me off a little. The music being played was great- 90s music for us grown folks. They also had the dolphins game on which my husband was happy for. I cannot wait to come back for happy hour where they have $1 oysters!!!! read more

The place is beautiful, but unfortunately just another over priced spot to get mediocre drinks and do not order the Margherita pizza. If it had 2 tablespoons of cheese, we were lucky. It was over cooked and all dough There were literally 4 sprigs of burnt basil on it. Only because we were hungry and we had a time restriction that we stayed. The hostess would be better suited to greet people at a funeral home. When we asked her for red pepper, I guess it was too much for her to accomplish. We had to get up, look around and go to her station at front door. When we did, she just looked up from her phone and replied ok, as though she were hearing us ask for the first time. Very disappointing. read more

This place is amazing. The bartender was super sweet and the food was so fresh. We came as soon as they opened and it was great. The bathrooms are located outside but very clean and easy to get to. Came to Thorn on a Saturday night at 8pm with 3 friends. We didn't have to wait but it was pretty full with a great vibe and an awesome DJ playing jams all night. There was a good crowd in the back dancing too. The cocktails were awesome and service was even better. I ate their smash burger and it was really delicious. I would order it again. They also validate your parking for free for 3 hours and they have nice indoor and outdoor seating. Highly recommend this place. read more

First off, parking seemed to be a bit complicated but you can get 3 hours validated parking for some lot. I suggest if you're in a group, you have someone hop off and ask where that parking lot is before you park, if you'd like to save a few bucks. Was not immediately greeted or escorted to any particular seating area. Walked to the outside seating patios and waited a few minutes before someone eventually showed up with water. Service was friendly and somewhat quick for a Friday night. Had a couple drinks, at a fairly reasonable price, but best of the group was for sure the "The Call Her Lola" & my personal recommendation. Cute hang out spot, would go back again. read more

Love love love this spot! Ambiance: Great loungey vibe, whether for date night, girls night or happy hour, I recommend. Cocktails: The cocktails are awesome , my absolute favorite is Tres Delinquentes! *chefs kiss* Food: Keep in mind, they are a lounge/bar concept; however, they do have a small menu of great options, I haven't tried much but so far - Cauliflower Tahini is BOMB and I'm not a huge oyster fan but LOVE their oysters. Service: the staff has always been friendly and welcoming! Dessert: if you haven't tried Cry Baby Creamery yet RUN THERE RIGHT NOW - great, unique flavors, even for non-dairy eaters. Their cookies are actually heavenly. Overall I love this spot and would recommend! Also, their happy hour is amazing! Excited to have the thorn as an option in the Bird Road neighborhood. read more
