Excellent food!!! I've had great lunch, dinner & take out! Great service & ambiance. I love the variety of dishes and enjoy their vegetable variety. I definitely recommend dining at Thonglor Thai Bistro! read more

I am a bit of a Thai food snob and this is definitely some of the best Thai food I've had in the area. For an app we got the chicken curry puffs and they were absolutely delicious. As a main I got the Penang curry and it was wonderfully flavorful and perfectly cooked. Great service and cute inside too! read more

Ordered pickup for our group. Appys of chicken curry puffs (delish), chicken satay (dry/overcooked), and mango salad (yum, but not much Napa cabbage at all). We did order the coconut soup with tofu, but it came with chicken instead. Entrees of pad Thai and drunken noodles with chicken, Penang curry with tofu, pad see ew with veggies. Were all excellent. Food was ready for pick up on time and friendly reception in beautiful restaurant. Would definitely recommend read more

My second time dining at Thonglor Thai Bistro and it still has the cute inviting vibe. Great service as always - the team was friendly, helpful with recommendations, and quick to bring each course. We ordered a couple of appetizers and entrees to share. Everything tasted great but the crab meat fried rice and calamari were our favorites. Will be going back again. read more

We rely on this relatively new Thai for appetizers and soup. It's a beautiful place inside but so far, we only get take out. Their curry puffs are great. Their spring rolls are our must haves. I get their shrimp soup ... not too spicy and a good supply of tasty shrimp too. Prices are on par with other Thai placed. Recommended read more

I came here for lunch with my family and we loved the food. My mom eats less salt so this was a tad salty for her but for me, it tasted great. The interior was so nice and clean and well decorated so supe inviting atmosphere. The staff was also really nice! read more

I must confess that I've lived in U.S. towns and cities comprised of large populations of Asians, including those from Thailand, so perhaps my expectations for this restaurant were unreasonable. Altogether, I was disappointed in the food. It was not at all what I would call authentic Thai food. I would rate the service as excellent: prompt, attentive, polite and competent. The ambiance was pleasing: clean and pleasing to the eye. I also liked that this is a 'Bring your own wine' restaurant. The portions were substantial and reasonably prices. I wish there were more vegetable , as suggested by the menu descriptions. So, in summary: service=5; ambience= 4 ; food=3. Altogether a rating of 4. read more

For 30 years, I've been a beginner when it comes to Thai food. Pad thai is my go-to meal and this dish was about as good as expected. The calamari was very tasty but the dipping sauce was one of the best I've ever had. It had a slight kick to it that I enjoyed. I ordered it online and it was ready in 20 minutes. The parking is street based. I was fortunate to find a spot in front. I'd definitely come again! read more

We picked Thonglor for a Sunday lunch as we were craving for some Thai food. We walked in around noon, right before the restaurant started to get busy. As I walked in, I was amazed by the stunning interior and gorgeous decor of this restaurant. The giant red bow at the door, the sculptures, lights, everything had such authentic Thai vibe all around the place. They had a huge menu with all sorts of dishes. Of course I started with my favorite tom yum soup that was citrusy, filled with seafood. Then we had several other items like the roti massaman, Thai wings, fried shrimp cake, pineapple fried rice, shrimp red curry and roasted red duck. All the items had incredible taste and flavor. The portions were good size. We also got Thai iced tea. For the very first time, I had Thai iced tea that had cream on top with a vanilla flower in it. Alongside the delicious we had amazing service from staff. They constantly cleaned our table and also packed out left overs. The dishes were served within reasonable time too. Overall we had a fantastic lunch here. For sure it's one of the best Thai places in the area. read more

What a surprise to find a Thai restaurant that offers authentic Thai food in a beautiful ambience. I was also surprised by the portion size. I would say that the green curry dish was legit twice as much as other Thai restaurants. I had a full meal size left over even after stuffing myself. So great value. The food also came out plated beautifully. What a great addition to Denville dining scene. read more

Lovely spot in Denville downtown, have been a here a times and we love their lunch service. We also tried their sister restaurant in Montclair but like restaurant better, ambiance and service is much better. Definitely a really nice spot for a great meal in downtown. read more

Wonderful Thai food at Denville. Very friendly and attentive staff. We ordered quite a lot of food. All came out well presented and prepared. Definitely love the shrimp pancakes (appetizer), it's fried but still juicy inside. The duck (main entree) is flavorful and tender. The skin is crispy and goes really well with the curry. Chic decoration yet still keeps the Thai essence. Spacious seating with comfortable booth. Bathroom is very clean. read more

My parents and I ordered takeout from this place a couple of days ago. I think this place is in the same spot as Thai Chef. I love Thai cuisine so I was excited to try a new place. Their menu had a lot of items. We ordered pad thai noodle with chicken, Tom yum fried rice with tofu (mild) and masaman curry with chicken (medium spicy). The pad thai noodle dish was okayI felt the chicken was a bit dry. Maybe I should have asked for shrimp instead. We should have ordered medium spicy for the Tom yum fried rice. It was good but could have kicked it up a notch. The masaman curry with chicken was the best. Good flavor. The prices for the dishes were a little steep but was happy to see they gave good quantity for each. I may try their food again the next time I'm in town. read more

In downtown Denville. The place is a lot bigger on the inside than you would think looking in from the street. The atmosphere is very calming and the decor embraces the culture. We sat down for lunch. The server was very friendly and answered all our questions. There were so many different options for drinks and they all looked good! I got a Shirley temple and a Thai ice tea. The Shirley temple has been one of the better ones I've had more recently. With the lunch specials you get your own personal appetizer. I got the crab Rangoon and it came with honey mustard sauce which I've never had before but surprisingly the taste combination was excellent. We also split curry puffs which were very good. I got the drunk man noodle. The lunch portion was perfect but I forgot to take a picture of it. Their presentation is very well done. read more

It is located in the heart of Downtown Denville. they decorated the restaurant beautifully with a Christmas theme. Hanging artifacts make it more beautiful. We did not have reservations but found the table quickly. the menu was quite simple and easy to understand, and no fancy words to make it look like an exquisite restaurant, hahaha... We ordered- * Thai wings: Typical deep-fried wings, nothing special about it, just their Thai sauce spread over it. 3/5 * Spring Roll: typical deep-fried spring rolls, in fact, they fried in used oil- you can smell it. Now here comes the main food- * Basil Fried Chicken Rice: it was spicy but I thoroughly enjoyed it. a mix of everything and they put loads of chicken * Basil Spaghetti Shrimp Noodle- shrimp should be more sautéed but it was good. * Drunk Man (drunken) Chicken Noodle: Rice noodles with onion, and bell pepper- it was one of the best drunken noodles my wife had and I could see her happiness after finishing the meal. * Pineapple Chicken Fried Rice- though it had pineapple, it was good too. overall, the main course was just amazing, Authentic Thai cuisine. it felt like a soothing place, with no noise, a beautiful ambiance, a couple of servers taking care of all the customers, and service was equally good. If you are in Denville downtown, I would recommend it... In fact, I am planning to host my office party here... I loved it. Parking: Street parking is available or park near the main road. read more

What a great Thai restaurant in a town with many dining choices. Thonglor Thai Bistro is a cozy, festive , yet calm and Zen venue with friendly service and great quality food. Even on a Monday for lunch, the food was freshly made and tasted great. The Tom Kha coconut soup with chicken was a large portion and the chicken was fresh and tender, not rubbery. The Pad Kee Mao (Drunken Man Noodles) with chicken was perfectly made. A request for extra Thai Basil was accommodated without hesitation. The medium spice was a perfect balance and the noodles were also freshly made, and not rubbery. The green tea was an enjoyable palate cleanser. The hostess, named Jelly, was very pleasant and helpful. We look forward to returning soon, and ordering take out as well. Parking is available on the street. It is a BYOB. read more

Another review from a poor man. Here is a great example of a place that makes me forget I am poor and enjoy the food I am given. Went there on Saturday May 10, 2025 for a late birthday dinner for the wifey. I keep forgetting how good this place is! The pros. The food is great. The service is excellent. The ambiance is nice and it is right in downtown Denville. I cannot say enough how tasty the food is. The chicken Satay appetizer was awesome and had great flavor. Grilled perfectly and the peanut sauce was some of the best I ever had! I had the Seafood Pad Cha and it was amazingly delicious! The cons. It is slightly pricey but you seem to get very good quality food for the "bang for your buck" experience. The chicken satay appetizer was on the smaller size for the cost but the flavor was good. Only other complaint is they stuck us on a table in the middle of the walk way so my arms were constantly bumping into people walking on either side of me. Which was beyond annoying. Overall I would still come back to it!!!! read more

Really good, authentic food. Fresh, not overly sauced. A big menu to choose from. Near easy city parking. We will be back.

We decided to stop for Thai en route to PA. The restaurant is very pretty. We were seated right away and it was not busy at all at 4PM on Friday. Given how not busy it appeared, our entrees took an eternity to come out. Our drinks and app came out in time. Not sure happened with the entrees. The salmon entree was way over well done and it really impacted the overall taste. Such a shame because the restaurant had a lot of potential. read more

I've ordered takeout a few times from Thonglor and it's consistently been 10/10. From here on out this is probably the only place that I'll order Thai from. I usually stick to the same few things, but when they are so good there's just not a need to switch it up. Curry puffs are a must to start - the order comes with three huge puffs. For mains I'll go with chicken pad thai or beef pad see ew. The pad see ew is so good, I can literally gobble up the entire bowl. It's not super noodle heavy and there's always a generous amount of meat and broccoli. I've been in to pick up takeout but have never actually dined in. The space is gorgeous though. It's brand new and they did a wonderful job with the decor. Hopefully I can eat in one day, but for now will continue to order takeout whenever that Thai craving hits. read more

Having lived in the area a long time ago, I was surprised to see this as an option for lunch. It's new, about 6 months old, and has some growing pains to work through I think but will end up being a great stop for a weekend dinner at some point. We went with the soft shell crab larb, which was a special. The soft shell crab was delicious and the larb packed quite the punch, which we knew it would. It could have been less liquidy, but overall a nice option. For entree, we went with two options: beef Bangkok noodle and chicken chili cashew nut. The former I felt like was better, with a nice flavoring to the beef. The noodles were a little firmer than I would have hoped and maybe could be cooked slightly more. The latter was a bit of a letdown. We were told it would be Thai medium spicy and it was neither Thai medium spicy nor normal medium spicy. The ingredients were there, so I'm not totally sure why it really didn't have a spice. The decorations and vibe of the place are great. The plating is really special, which I appreciated. The food took a shockingly long time to come out, especially for how many people were in the restaurant, but the service itself was great. What really hit me though, was the price. I do wish they offered the lunch special on the weekends, because it was tough to pay $20/dish on a Sunday lunch and probably would prevent me from doing so. read more

Ordered on Doordash Thai Iced Tea: really tasty Beef Crying Tiger: so good. I'm used to this dish being drenched in the sauce, this was served with the sauce being a dip. I just poured it, haha love this sauce! Thai Wings: these were tasty as well. I just wish there was more sauce/flavors with every bite. Only some spots had the flavor. Tom Kha Galangal Soup: I love this soup. Decent portion, wish it was bigger though. I would definitely try more dishes read more

Gotta be the best Thai food within 30 minutes at least. Everything is excellent. It is not cheap, but certainly quality. From the soups to the salads to the currys. The apps were all excellent. Just got back from Thailand so I wasn't expecting much from this place but it was surprisingly crowded but they still managed to squeeze us in without a reservation. They do not have a liquor license so no alcohol to compliment their food unless you bring your own beer or wine. We had the Chicken Pad See ew, the red curry chicken & the seared scallop appetizer twas really excellent, the Tom Yum soup did not disappoint. My only 2 very minor disappointment to a great dinner was the quality of the banana in the fried banana dessert & how ridiculously salty the fish chili sauce was, We were happy that they were able to accommodate us on a crowded Thursday night . I Would recommend this place & will definitely bookmark & return again when staying in the area again. read more

Ordered takeout from Thonglor Thai Bistro. The dining room looked very inviting, and the hostess was friendly with our food ready on time. We tried the massaman curry and drunken noodles. The curry was flavorful, with soft whole peanuts adding a nice texture, though it could've used more spice. The drunken noodles were outstanding--easily the highlight of the meal. Would love an option to customize spice levels when ordering online. Great experience overall! read more

Beautiful interior & very good food. However, the wait staff is not that experienced & seemed very confused at times. This place is BYO so I brought vodka & they immediately asked me to not leave the bottle on the table as they can only have wine or beer on the table - this has never happened to me before. NP, I just poured my drink & put my bottle aside. What annoyed me the most besides the service was the fact that they charge $4 for seltzer - my husband had 2 which were from a gun & not a can or bottle & the bill showed $8 - not cool & what a turnoff! read more

A gorgeous, ornate ambiance, proud and hyperattentive service, and freshly served dishes made for a delightful midday interlude in downtown Denville. The $15 lunch special comes with a free app. I went with the crab rangoon, which had perfectly fried, crispy edges. For my main, I enjoyed a lightly sautéed garlic chicken with a healthy portion of veggies. I know people who would think this food is perfect, so please keep that in mind when I share that I felt everything could have standed more salt. That said, it was more than fine! The refreshing Mr. Ginger mocktail was gone all too quickly. I'm really glad to have a Thai restaurant in Denville, closer to my home and with a better ambiance than the very tasty Up Thai. read more

Came here for lunch. Nice decor, background music and lighting. Being the first time here, I tried a basic noodle dish, Pad See Ew with chicken. Food came out very fast and was a very good portion. I have eaten here several times and they are always rushing to clear plates when there is still food on them. The last time was the worst experience. The other tables around us were having leisurely meals. I have requested mild food and it is still spicy. When you get a table for two, they are very close to each other and it is hard to have a private conversation. Time to try a different Thai restaurant! read more

Discovered this hidden gem in Denville, with the convenience of ample parking shared with The Pasta Shop. The variety of appetizers offered was amazing, we ordered all the recommended!! The papaya salad was super fresh. The roti massaman was flavorful, with a rich coconut curry, though the roti itself felt less authentic. The pad see ew had a nice kick, so it might be a bit too spicy for those sensitive to heat, but I found it delicious with the chewy noodles and all the Thai spices mixed in!!! The pad thai was solid, although the duck was a bit on the dry side. Overall, a pleasant dining experience! It's automatic 20% tip for a table of 5 instead of 6+ here. read more
