Delicious! My favorite Thai restaurant closed a few years back and this is the closest I've experienced. The service turns up the notch on rating this place- staff is welcoming and they provided excellent recommendations. The spring rolls were crispy and the fish dish was the perfect blend of spicy, saucy and sweet (fish). I'll be back for certain.

This place is cute and bigger than expected. The menu is beautiful. We started with Thai Iced Teas which were yummy. I ordered the red curry with tofu and asked for it to be spicy to which they did not disappoint. My friend ordered the Pad Thai which he said was delicious. Service was good. I would come back here again and try something different.

Ordered: Pad See Ew (~$17) with Beef: stir fried flat noodle with beef, egg, Chinese broccoli seasoned with light garlic soy sauce Aya's take: It didn't take long for me to come back to Up Thai and I'm so glad I did because this meal was EVEN BETTER than the last. This beef pad see ew is the TRUTH. The garlic soy sauce is super flavorful. The beef is tender with some crispy bits from the wok which give it some nice depth. The Chinese broccoli had a nice crunch and the flat noodles soaked up all the flavor well. I inhaled this. Highly recommend this dish!

Where has this been all my life? My guest and I enjoyed amazing flavor profiles and textures at a recent visit to Up Thai, mercifully free of the oil, heaviness, and blandness of other Thai places within even 15 minutes of here. We ordered the fried tofu, which was served hot and crispy with an oil and peanut dip; the se ew with beef, which had delicious and amazing caramelizatjon along the beef and the noodles, and was brightened by some greens; and the garlic and pepper tofu, which was fresh, pretty, and colorful. Sauces tied everything together on the palate. In addition to chicken, tofu, and beef, they offer lamb and sea bass as proteins, for a large and ambitious menu. The veggies were so flavorful that if they were your meal by themselves, you'd never miss the protein. I look forward to coming back for more! The parking lot is sort of a travesty if you come in from the northernmost entrance - if you're coming from Denville, turn at the second left for much nicer parking spots.

Stopped in for a later dinner (7pm) on a weeknight and I was the only one in the restaurant. At first it was kind of a red flag but then I noticed a constant flow of takeout orders being picked up. I ordered the spring rolls and chicken pad thai (classic, I know). The food arrived in a reasonable time and I loved it all. The portions were very fair for the price and I was full by the time I left. The spring rolls were crispy and I loved the sauce. My favorite part was that the pad thai wasn't overly covered in sauce. It was the perfect balance which is hard to find at some thai restaurants. The staff was very friendly and they took great care of me. The parking was simple and the dining room was very clean.

I didn't have much interest in Up Thai previously because they don't offer gluten-free drunken noodles, my favorite dish. My friend suggested we meet there for dinner and I decided to give it a try, and I am so glad I did. We visited the BYOB establishment on a Thursday night, and it was fairly busy, but we were able to get seated quickly. The menu has typical Thai staples, and I decided to try the spicy chili tofu, which was wonderfully seasoned. My friend's green curry was delicious, and I'll be ordering that for my next visit. Both dishes came with a small bowl of rice, which provided a perfect balance for the meals. The service was great, and we were attended to when we needed something, so I'll definitely be returning.

I ordered the drunken noodles lunch option with shrimp. This was my second time getting delivery and it was definitely worse than last time. Not all of the noodles had sauce on them and they were so overcooked to the point of being mushy. Many were clumped together. The shrimp was good and spice level was good but the drunken noodles themselves were just so disappointing.

Our favorite Thai place in Rockaway (Pearl of Siam) closed so our radar was out for another good local replacement. Yelp reviewers have given this small place a bunch of positive reviews so we took a shot on take out. Happy to report that our experience has been five stars. We have had a variety of items and each one was yummy in the tummy without requiring an asbestos palate to handle the spice. That's really smart because you can always ask them to "kick it up a notch" if that's your taste. The prices, like most Thai places we have been to, are a bit strong but not out of line with the quantity and, more important, the quality. Their sauces - always a treat with good Thai food - taste fresh and nicely compliment the dishes we have ordered. My wife is a vegetarian and loves their take on tofu dishes. Me, I dig in on the shrimp rolls and curry puffs - two dishes that are the best I have had at any Thai restaurant. They have small tables outside but so far we have only done take out. Their service is always quick so trust their ETA when you place a call-in order. We have been gettin food here for a few weeks and each meal has been very good. Give these locals a try - it's great to have a quality Thai restaurant nearby. Recommended

Always in search of good Thai food, we ordered takeout tonight from Up Thai. I had seen some recommendations and had this place bookmarked for a while. It didn't disappoint, the food was delicious! I'm always a big fan of ginger so I really had no choice but to order the Wild Ginger with chicken. The chicken, along with vegetables, in a light brown sauce was perfect over white rice. My wife chose the Garlic & Pepper. She loved it and I had a taste and concurred! The restaurant is located in a small strip mall on Rt 53 in Morris Plains. The inside was very small but nicely decorated. They did have some place settings out, but no one dining inside. I'm guessing that as we get completely out of covid times, those tables will be filled. If you like good Thai food, give Up Thai a try!

Doesn't look like much when you walk past it but the food is good. Dropped in here for our anniversary lunch and I must say we din't regret it. Liked the place a perfect definition of hole in the wall. We had curry puffs and duck rolls and salad for starters; Penang curry and spicy fried rice for our entree; Warm carrot cake with myer rum for dessert. Late picked up the puffs for dinner too . Nothing fancy but loved the ambience.

And when I sat down inside this ultra-casual restaurant - I'm pretty sure that it's a converted residential house - I only saw my fellow diners ordering sushi. So don't come here for ramen; come for an incredibly tasty, inexpensive sushi experience. I had an amazing roll, and let me tell you, the presentation is stunning. It came out sizzling on cast iron, while my server spooned garlic sauce over the top to cook it and add dazzle. Filled with avocado and spicy tuna, the portion would be perfect for sharing with someone. I also had a dynamite roll, which more or less melted in my mouth. I was less wild about the Christian crosses at every table. I'm a secular person. All in all though, Asahi qualifies as a hidden, off-the-beaten-path gem of Parsippany.

If you like garlic, withhold expectations and absolutely give it a go. The contrast was an unbelievable experience--it was crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside. There was sweetness, balanced by a tiny touch of spicy from the tuna plus heavy garlic in the sauce. The roll is served on a scorching hot cast iron tray, contrasted by the cool sushi inside. Every bite was a battle of soft and crispy, sweet and spicy, hot and cool--we finished it and immediately ordered a second roll. *As a nod to another review, I will acknowledge that the room got a little smoky immediately after the Amazing Roll was served and the waitress/hostess did elastic-bungee the door open for a few minutes to clear the air, but the air was clear and the door was shut soon after. If I were to change anything about our experience here, it would only be to stop at the two other occupied tables on my way out to preach about this roll and highly recommend they give it a try. I was so shocked when I saw it that I completely neglected to get a picture, and for that I apologize. Please accept this picture of the write up as a token.

We weren't dressed up, and I'll admit I was a bit nervous about being underdressed--but that concern vanished the moment we arrived. We were warmly greeted and treated as if we were dressed for a royal affair. From the moment we stepped in, the service was impeccable--not just from our main server but from the entire team. Every staff member was attentive, from those bringing bread and drinks to those checking in just to ensure we were enjoying ourselves. The owner personally stopped by to make sure we were having a lovely time, which added an extra touch of hospitality. The venue itself exudes classic elegance--it feels like "old money" charm and could easily be a backdrop for a scene in The Godfather. For dinner, I ordered the classic Caesar salad, pan-roasted Angus filet mignon with potato au gratin, and the chocolate soufflé. The salad was what you'd expect--fresh and well-prepared. The filet mignon was cooked perfectly and served in a surprisingly generous portion. The chocolate soufflé must be pre-ordered, and while my husband loved it, I realized I personally prefer a lighter, airier chocolate cake--but that's simply a matter of taste, not execution. Overall, the exceptional service and warm hospitality are what will bring us back again. ------------------------------------------ "Because dining is more than food - it's flavor, style and elegance that should be savored one bite at a time." - AMC
