Since it's close to Trader Joe's, I sometimes end up grabbing a late lunch at this Panera. But I don't often like to linger because 2/3rds of the dining room is windowless, making it feel stuffy inside. I like Panera because their breads always taste fresh, and my most recent visit was no exception. I tried the spicy fiesta chicken sandwich and the Mexican street corn chowder. The sandwich didn't stay together super well - it needed more even chicken distribution - but it finished nicely with spicy, creamy mayo. On the other hand, the corn chowder was topped with stale blue tortilla chips, which was such a turnoff. On a Saturday at 3p, it was perhaps 1/4 full inside. read more

Terrible customer experience--and it's systemic. 1) delivery person's car broke down (unreliable) and he cancelled my order (a person who can't maintain his main source of employment shouldn't have the right to cancel an order 2) Denville NJ manager didn't check that the order was cancelled so didn't arrange for a new delivery 3) No one texted me that the order wasn't arriving. We had international VIPs and we ordered a salad to meet very specific dietary issues. I even double checked an hour before delivery to make sure Panera could manage the simple order and deliver it on time. Our guest had to wait for half an hour while other people were eating--it was embarrassing for her and us all because of two people who couldn't do their jobs--the manager and the driver. 3) the customer service page on Panera's website isn't working 4) any complaints go to a call center in Texas. I don't think they care about customers. The manager didn't charge us for the special order, but it cost us five times that in the time of the employee who had to leave the meeting to pick up the order. I have not been to a Panera is quite some time. Today I was in a nearby store and after completing my shopping I decided to get some soup. I ordered the small cup of rustic potato soup and the bread that comes with it. I was floored when I saw the size of the "cup of soup " that I was charged $7+ !!! I could not believe they charged that amount of money for the size of the container of soup. There is really no need to charge that much or if they want to then they certainly should give you more. There was a message that said my food was delivered late and they would give me $3.00 off my next order. This Panera sucks! I went here for lunch with my bestie and the food was amazing. Just wish it was more heated. Also my friends sandwich had literally nothing on it. She paid around $15 for a sandwich. Other than the fact I found a long black piece of hair in my food! Not only that, some lady walked past and gave me a very dirty look. Which I can assume to be the manger. Because of the uniform she was wearing. Only one other person waiting for food. I asked one of the workers if they needed staff because my niece is looking for a job so I thought I would ask her. The guy told me no the manager says we are over staffed and barely gives any one hours. I feel bad for the employees to have to work for such a horrible manager that does not give them hours. Update ! I visited here again a few times, and was pleasantly surprised to see that there is a new manager. My only gripe now is that they are always out of whatever I happen to order. And they still mess orders up often. I've found that when they are out of items they either forget to tell you, or give you something different . Quite annoying . ---------------------------------------------- I am officially done with this panera ! My visit today has to be somewhere around the 25th time that they have messed up my order. I'm extremely annoyed that I pay extra for certain things in my order, and my requests are either ignored or unseen. Either way, it's unacceptable. Also : as stated in my earlier review, every other time I visit, there is a manager discussing an employee issue on the floor in front of customers. This Panera has a cleanliness issue. At my last visit: - There was a brown smear on one of the kiosk screens. *ugh* - The lemonade looked like it hadn't been cleaned out in ages. I don't think lemonade is supposed to have this much pulp. Or any pulp at all. I hope there's nothing growing in there, but it looked gross in any case. - Every surface in the restaurant was dirty. Tables, tops of half walls, floor, the self-serve beverage area. Just ... gross. - When I left, there were so many dishes piled on top of the trash pails, there wasn't any surface visible. The opening for the recycle pail was covered with a stack of dishes, and there were stacks everywhere. On top of that, they took forever to prepare my food when I went in mid-afternoon. There was one other customer waiting; it shouldn't have been quite that slow. This leaves out the fact that their kiosk software needs a LOT of work. Without fail, for the past 6-7 months whenever I order through the app for rapid pick, my order is never on the shelf. I have to look and see if it's on the serving the counter. After awhile it gets to be annoying, particularly when your rising to work. There are at least 4 people in the store and several customers at that time. Nothing special. The cashier was nice but did not have a good knowledge of dietary restrictions. I'm vegan and asked about vegan options and she didn't really know. Had to tug and pull just to find out they had 1 vegan option- the Mediterranean veggie sandwich on french bread without cheese. Decided to stop here along my way to get car serviced. Got the steak egg and cheese on plain toasted bagel. Bagel was not toasted, they forgot the cheese. However the steak was actually pretty on the tender side which is not usual for a breakfast sandwich. So that made up for the not toasted bagel. So, I can't remember the last time I've been in a Panera, and I try to avoid chain restaurants. However, the people working here were so helpful and friendly that I had to leave a review. I don't eat meat or cheese so I can be a difficult customer. I asked what soups had dairy, and the manager came over and explained the only one without meat and cheese would be french onion soup without the cheese. I def didn't want that, so he showed me this book. It's a book that they have that goes over all the products and if they have dairy etc. he helped me find a salad, the Thai chicken salad, and said I could do no chicken and extra avocado. The manager then bought my food right to the table.the salad was actually really good. I was so surprised. I only had 15 minutes to eat and this place was on the way, so I had low expectations. The salad was fresh and tasty though. The friendly service is actually going to make me return to this Panera. At night time everything seems to be okay here, but definitely understaffed at peak times. Staff really keep pretty positive considering they're really hustling hard. I used to manage one if these, years ago, so I understand the challenges. I mistakenly reviewed Atlanta bread a few weeks back for not putting chicken on my salad. My office made another large order and I ordered the same salad as the last time and specifically has the person ordering stress that I wanted chicken on my salad. Well guess what... No chicken... I had the person call and tell them that there was no chicken on the salad and they made no offer on making it right. All they said was oh they forgot. Not really a good answer when we order sandwiches very often [2nd time this month] and the orders tend to be quite large [This was $200]. Atlanta Bread is much closer and the lack of customer service at this Panera is upsetting. A simple apology and 'What can we do to fix this' would have made the whole problem go away. Totally disappointed. I had been craving a BLT for a couple weeks & decided to go here figuring since it was a sandwhich shop they would have a great BLT. No such luck. It consisted of 2 huge slices of their Country bread, 2 huge leafs of green lettuce, 3 super, tiny, thin slices of tomatoes that were so thin I could see right through them and 2 of the smallest, thin slices of bacon that were shriveled up to nothing. So basically, I had a bread sandwich with minimal core ingredients that typically make up a BLT. After craving something for a few weeks and finally having it in my hand I can't express enough my disappointment. I chose an apple as my side instead of chips only to be given what must have been the "runt" of their shipment. I had taken the sandwich to go and had I seen it before driving the 10 miles home I would had requested them to make it correctly or asked for a refund. Since this was my first visit to a Panera in 10 years I was a bit unfamiliar with the menu and my questions were met with a "hurry up" attitude by the cashier taking my order. She wasn't interested in taking the time to offer suggestions or explanations about the menu. They have a bakery section with a lot of bread & pastries but no one was working that section and the cashier didn't ask me if I'd like anything else after I placed my sandwhich order. The restaurant was fairly clean although the beverage bars had spills and there was a little trash on the floor but not terrible. There are a few patio tables and chairs outside. It's in a strip mall so there is ample parking. Overall for me I have to give it a 2 thumbs down. Wouldn't go back to this location for sure. read more

Eh... This location gets so overwhelmingly busy - probably because people go to Union Hill to shop and then head into Panera for food. The food is the same as at any Panera. The employees are friendly enough. I'm not the type to go out of my way to go here and I don't think I ever crave Panera but like i mentioned above, if I'm already here shopping, I might stop in for a bite. Most recently when I was there, all of the women making the sandwiches were speaking Spanish and they didn't have the best English so there was a bit of confusion in the pickup area, as no one could recognize when their own names were called. Also, the doorway is probably a fire hazard. When the queue gets long enough, the line goes through the door and it makes it difficult for people who want to leave. read more

Went there yesterday for a bowl of Turkey Chili. There was barely anything in it. It was like chili soup broth. When the server who delivered it to my table walked by, I mentioned it to her. I ordered a strawberry poppyseed chicken salad without the chicken because I am vegan. The cook even clarified with me "you don't want chicken right?" And I said yes, no chicken. I explained the situation, and the manager was wonderful. Brand new salad, and she even gave me an upgrade for my troubles. That is customer service at it's best! I have never had a problem with the food at this location, or the service. However, this facility has got to have the most disgusting bathroom I have ever been in. Think back road gas station filthy. Overflowing garbages, dirty floors, no paper towels, no soap...and don't even get me started on the stalls. While eating my salad that he fixed and walked it out to me with a smile..he greeted like 10 customers and helped some elderly couples as well.
