    2025 Spring specials

I was looking for a good Thai restaurant near my neighborhood. Then I saw Thai Nam Phet. Their satay chicken is soft and tasty. The sauce is not the thick one but pretty flavorful. The store outside is very cute, with Thai flavored interior decor. We ordered Hoy Kra Prow from their Spring specials. The mussels were delicious and juicy; and the roasted chili sauce really went well with the mussels. I really enjoyed their chicken fried rice. It might seem like a simple dish, but to find a place that cook good fried rice is not easy. The staffs were very friendly - coming to check with us three to four times, and getting our orders right. I am glad I found a good Thai with reasonable price.

our go-to thai in the area! their thai iced tea is classically delicious; all the duck dishes are sublime, especially the tamarind duck & curry duck/salmon offerings. service is always prompt & friendly; the food always hits & the ambiance is cozy. worth a trip if you're in the neighborhood & in the mood for good eats.

We were on our way back from a party in Nj and wanted to grab dinner. I found this spot on Yelp and with the reviews, thought it would not be that bad. So first the restaurant is so outdated. There are wooden plank wall panels meshed with blue booth couches, it looks so bizarre. The restaurant just did not look modern. The service however was excellent and attentive. The food on the other hand, left little to be missed. We ordered the chicken satay, which were 3 skewers and was so dry and bland. The peanut sauce was mediocre, I've had better. We also ordered a coconut based soup, which was actually good! And then got the chicken green curry which was so watery and barely had any flavor. It was so watered down and diluted. It was perhaps one of the worst green curry I've ever had. Sad as I had high hopes for this spot, however this completely missed the mark. The service was the only good spot.

I've been coming here since I was little, it's always had the same top tier quality: delicious food, super kind and attentive staff, very beautiful and clean restaurant itself. a must try in my book is their hoy krapow (mussels), my dad and i call the sauce liquid gold lol.

Best Thai restaurant around I think! They do classic Thai dishes really well and their own signature dishes, especially the royal chicken. Perfect spice level, great service, lots of specials. I love their sauce plate. This place is pheNAMenal!

This place was on our list to try and we came here for dinner last week, the place did not disappoint. We were greeted as we entered, it is not a huge spot and looks like run as a family business. Our server was super nice and accommodating. We ordered a couple of things(fried rice, pad kra pow, drunken noodles and Thai ice tea), everything was super flavorful and delicious. It's not common now a days to have a restaurant bring out a side assortment for spicy sauces which was great to see( I sometime like my food with a little more kick:)) We would definitely be coming back here.

Went for Friday night (8/23/24) dinner. Informal ambiance, moderate noise level, very friendly service, excellent food. Ordered mussels in sweet chilly sauce: superb sauce, which went well with curry puffs we also ordered which were a bit dry. Entrees were crispy duck and seafood plate, again both superb. I also ordered a Thai ice coffee with coconut milk: very sweet, very tasty, perfect for after finishing spicy food. Asked for medium spicy, and got just what we wanted. A family run operation, a real gem. I'm adding it to my list of top local restaurants. Highly recommended.

Absolutely delicious food! Been ordering from Thai Nam Phet for a little while as it's very close to work and they never disappoint. Ordered the grilled steak salad for the first time ever today and not only was it delicious, the presentation for a take out salad was beautiful! Ordered my usual lunch special # 11 the drunken noodles and as always they give you a good amount of food for a lunch special plus the tom yum soup that comes with it is the best I've ever tasted!

Thai Namphet restaurant is a gem with amazing service and a cute, chic decor that enhances the dining experience. The red curry is packed with flavor, the drunken noodles are a must-try, and the Thai dim sums simply melt in your mouth. A definite go-to spot for delicious Thai cuisine in a charming setting! Spl. shout out to their server Titang for his amazing recommendations and on point service

The exterior architecture is stunningly authentic, channeling a traditional aesthetic complete with a beautiful outdoor fish pond (no, you cannot order them for dinner, though don't quote me on that because I didn't actually ask). Upon stepping inside, you are greeted by an inviting, ornately decorated space. It feels a bit vintage and dated in the best way possible, offering a unique character that modern, cookie-cutter spots just can't replicate. We were seated promptly at a table adorned with actual fresh-cut flowers--a beautiful detail that immediately separates this venue from places utilizing tacky plastic alternatives. The service here is absolutely impeccable. The server, the manager, and the support staff operate as a highly attentive, deeply friendly team. We began with appetizers: a simple vegetable roll for my girlfriend which she declared was absolutely amazing, and the boneless spare ribs for me. While boneless ribs are an absolute staple on any Chinese takeout menu, I have never had a local version execution this elite; they were perfectly lean, deeply flavorful, and entirely free of the typical fat pockets you usually find elsewhere. For the main course, my girlfriend (who doesn't eat meat) ordered the tofu and mixed vegetables blanketed in a rich brown sauce with a side of brown rice. She rated it as one of the best variations she has ever encountered, noting that the kitchen's flavor balance was so dialed-in that it required zero corrections from additional soy sauce, salt, or pepper. I opted for the General Tso's Triple Fragrance, featuring a massive, premium protein trifecta of chicken, beef, and shrimp tossed with fresh vegetables and brown rice. It was extraordinary. Hunan Taste simply does not belong in the same conversation as your standard neighborhood joint; it operates entirely in a class of its own. We will absolutely be back, and it definitely won't take another five years.

First I'd like to say how friendly everyone was from the moment you walk through the door. I'm still shocked at how quick the service was. They were on it. As a vegetarian I'm aware I may eat boring things but I still like them to taste good. I got the mixed veggies in brown sauce. It was flavored so well it needed nothing. I also got a spring roll which was great. My boyfriend started with the boneless ribs which he said were the best he has had. That says a lot since he is picky. He also said the same about his General Tso's Triple Fragrance . Nice sized portions as well. You will leave satisfied The food, service and ambiance lived up to the recommendations.

With that in mind I want to be careful how I review the food. The place is nice and quiet, including the servers. The menu is rather expansive like a diner, and it can be a bit confusing because it sometimes says "veggie beef" (or chicken, pork) and sometimes just says "beef" and you have to interpret the missing word "veggie". Since I didn't want any of that, I was able to pick out what I wanted quickly, but my friend took awhile. I liked the spring rolls. Liked, not loved - I've had better; the interior was bland here. And the sauce wasn't announced, but a nice bonus for dipping. The vegetable fried rice, I don't know. The sauce was a bit gluey, instead of making the rice a bit crunchy like fried rice ought to be. The veggies were not done enough so they weren't crunchy but also weren't soft. The broccoli should have been chopped into smaller pieces, but also, it should have been mushrooms like the menu said. I was not pleased with the unannounced substitution - a five star restaurant would be open about that. (I was also expecting baby corn, but the menu did say "corn" when I checked back, so that's on me.) I'd love to round up to 4 instead of down to 3, but in the end, if my friend invites me back next time she's in the area, I'd pass and suggest a different spot. I know it's not easy to craft a vegetarian restaurant and I respect what they've been able to do here, but I think they can do better without introducing meat products. Especially on matching the menu with what you're given.

I've also had friends recommend it, so I was very happy that my wife and I had an opportunity to have dinner there last night. This is a relatively small restaurant right in the heart of Denville with indoor and outdoor seating. On a Wednesday night it was relatively quiet and we didn't need a reservation. The menu is really varied with lots of different options, many on the healthy side. We started off by sharing an appetizer of Chicken Lemongrass Dumplings. These were delicious with a nice spice to them. For entrees, my wife had the chicken and eggplant and I had almond encrusted salmon. Both were very good, if I had to order again, I would have chosen my wife's dish instead. That said, the salmon served with mashed potatoes and spinach was still very good. Prices are very reasonable. Parking is easy with a lot nearby. Denville is one of my favorite towns and Cafe Metro will be a place I'll be coming back to!

We stopped in here a little early for dinner, right around 5pm, and the mall and the restaurant were pretty empty. It was hard to get a feel for how the restaurant might feel when full, but the lights were low (not dark) and it seemed like it could get loud when packed. We were seated right away by a very friendly hostess and the bartender/waitress was over pretty quickly. She came over and made a couple excellent recommendations for drinks and we put in an order for pork dumplings. She came back over and we then placed our entree orders. I had the Mongolian Trio and my wife ordered the Orange chicken. The pork dumplings were great. Our drinks were great. The entrees were a mix. Chang's and decided to stop by after a day of water park fun. It was dinner time, mid week in August. There were maybe six other tables which had patrons. We were greeted and seated right away. Our waitress was mostly MIA the remainder of the evening. I cannot say what kept her attention, but it wasn't us nor the other patrons. Multiple times, our water glasses were empty, she didn't check on us at all without being flagged down. Again, the restaurant wasn't busy at all. Beyond the service aspect, I'd give the cocktails 5 stars, the hot food 4.5 stars and the sushi was 2.5 stars at best. I think stop&shop sushi is likely better. Sriracha sauce on a roll is just a no for me, lazy and lacks imagination. Unfortunately, all of the nostalgia we had for this place is now gone.
