Yum! We got a little feast for a very reasonable price. This is going to be our new go-to.

Penang Malaysian & Thai Cuisine - Roti Canai (~$7)

We ordered a lot of dishes including a whole fish.. all the classic Malaysian dishes and everything was fresh and definitely tastes like home. Wasn't too big a fan of their assam laksa (lacked a bit of flavour) but everything else was good. Staff were also really accommodating for all the kids and gave us the room in the back so we had a semi private area away from the other patrons. Usually come here during Chinese New Year for their Yee Sang but I think you just have to call to confirm they have it every year. It's a great place to get together with friends and family !

Their menu is massive with almost 200 items literally numbered! It seems to be a neighborhood staple and I was looking forward to trying it. I started with the Malaysian Iced tea which was pretty sweet (as expected) but paired nicely with the meal. The Roti Canai is the most popular item here and I can see why. It's flaky and buttery and pairs well with the sweet & savory chicken potato curry. The Penang Satay Mix is an absolute skip. Apparently it's "charcoal-grilled" and there's no way that's possible. It was super dry & chewy. On the other hand, the Penang Char Kway Teow - this was my favorite dish of the night! The flat rice noodles were cooked perfectly and soaked up all the flavor from the soy sauce & chili paste. The shrimp & squid were super fresh and my only complaint is there wasn't enough. The Chili Chicken was simple yet full of heat, spices, and could've gone well with a vegetable dish. Super affordable, filling, and quick service. The staff were also very friendly and accommodating!

The place is spacious despite it being only for takeout, and it has a nice counter. We called our order and it took them 15 minutes to have it ready, which was much appreciated as we were starving! We got the dumplings, basil fried rice, and drunken noodles - it all came out to $32 which is an incredible price for the amount of food we received! The dumplings were okay, not the greatest I've had but not bad. The basil fried rice and drunken noodles were both good, they have a decent amount of chicken and vegetables, and the spice levels were true to what they said! We ordered the rice as spicy (level 1) and the noodles as very spicy (level 2) and they did not disappoint! It is great to know we have a solid Thai place nearby if we want to switch it up from our regular spot.

Review on just the Food…read more Red Curry - Shrimp The flavor was great, not too spicy although I'm sure you can request it to me more spicy. It was served with steamed white rice. The shrimp was cooked just right and tasted good. Pad See Ew with Chicken This was a pleasant surprise and a great treat. The broad, flat rice noodles are perfectly chewy, providing a satisfying base. Stir-fried with a smoky, slightly sweet soy sauce, the noodles are mixed in with tender pieces of chicken that absorb the rich flavors beautifully. Broccoli adds a pleasant crunch and freshness that balances the overall taste. What truly elevates Pad See Ew is the subtle hint of garlic and the slight char from the wok, giving it a uniquely robust flavor. For my taste, I added a touch of hot chili oil to spice it up a notch. Highly recommend this restaurant
