Normally the China House makes good food. Yesterday I ordered Vegetable Dumplings. I don't know they make it in house or order them from another company. There was no identifiable vegetables in the dumplings but a gritty paste. I ate 3 dumplings and threw the rest away. Hours later I got sick. I threw up my food and didn't get good sleep until 3:30 am. I may have to try another Chinese food place. Any suggestions? read more

I placed a fairly large order. I eat Chinese food on a regular basis. Although I usually purchase food in establishments where the "quality" of food is of a better grade.....their food was decent. The problem is their attitude.The owners acted as if they were doing me a favor, could barely grunt out a response to a question, no thanks/no cordiality/no smile, etc. I asked permission to sit on a chair while I awaited the order and the husband would not look up from his video game and ignored me. Needless to say...I will never return to a place of business that acts as though they are doing a favor by serving the paying customer. read more

Very good delivery. The food is good I eat vegetarian and the vegetables are fresh. The chicken soup is very good with all soups I m sure they make the same chicken soup to complete the signature soup on the menu. read more

Delicious food! I got the crap Rangoon, house special fried rice and lemon chicken and as always 5/5. Totally recommended.

We've been going here for years and never had an issue. My boyfriend went to pick up food recently and didn't realize it was prepaid. He paid when he got there and they said they'd refund his payment. They did not, and when he disputed it with his credit card company they said it was a false claim and would not remove the charge. This place has become my go to Chinese takeout spot on the Caldwell's, and it's been solid. Their wontons are nice and firm and the broth is surprisingly flavorful. Pork fried rice and lo mein are always excellent. Also really reliable when it come to their general tso's chickens and boneless ribs. Lunch specials are a fantastic value and great portion. The staff knows their regular customers and is always super friendly. Really happy to have this as my local take out spot. read more

This was the best General tsao's I've had in town. Crunchy, sweet and spicy- perfect. The scallion pancakes were a little greasy, but we toasted them and blotted them and they were fine. The crab rangoon were delicious. The dumpling sauce was not very good, and my wife said the chicken chow fun was bland. The bbq ribs were overcooked and dry. You win some, you lose some. read more

OMG! Never in my life have I had such a horrible experience! Normally love the food, this time they screwed up the which is fine, it happens. Food was an hour late. Something they forgot to put in the order showed up before the rest of the food. I called to find out what was happening and got screamed at. Then the food came and was cold. Went here for a quick lunch it wasn't that appealing as soon as u walk in u realise the huge amount of space in such a little store. They have some Chinese traditional decorations hung up here and there but really its not much to look at. The food its not the best..... its your traditional Chinese fast food but it is tasty. Good place to go if you want to satisfy your craving for Chinese food. The place is small but it provides good quality food for reasonable prices. The owners are friendly and polite. Absolutely no complaint at all from my POV. Hope they can continue this and be the best Chinese restaurant in Caldwell. read more

I really don't know what's going on with this location, but lately the food is getting nastier and nastier. We usually order from here once or twice a week at work but it's getting worse and worse each time we order. I think it's time we break this relationship up and look for another location cuz today's order topped it all off. I ordered beef teriyaki and my order doesn't even look like beef teriyaki. It looks like a vegan meal with a couple of pieces of beef. The brown rice that I ordered it's got this weird taste to it and it's not going down. It sucks that we have to part ways after so many years of being together but I'm moving on to a different location these guys aren't as good as they use to be. read more

Timely Delivery. I was very disappointed with the Chicken and Brocc/combination. The food was bland. The fried rice had absolutely nothing in it. No egg, veggies, pork - just awful. My daughter did like their sweet & sour chicken with white rice. They add on a $4.50 delivery fee and we are the next town. read more

I tried this place when I first moved into town at the start of the year. I wasn't impressed. I was feeling sick today, so in the search for feel good food, I decided to give them a second shot and order delivery. I figured this would not be a hard task, given that I live about two blocks away. After over an hour of waiting, I still hadn't received my meal. I called back to find out the status of my order. After spending five minutes explaining that I had already ordered, and an additional five minutes waiting for the staff to figure out what happened, I was finally told that someone must have picked up my order. I received a few meager apologies and they said they would get my order to me. Indeed, they did send my order, which arrived about twenty minutes later. The delivery boy apologized, saying that his employers had forgotten about me. I understand that sometimes things happen on a busy Wednesday night, but they took no steps to atone for having me wait over an hour and a half. I didn't even get anything as simple as a single fortune cookie! As per the food itself, I was again left unimpressed. It was all bland. Given the number of great options I have in town, I think I'll be skipping this place from here on out. A shame. read more

This has been the absolute worst experience I have ever had ordering food ANYWHERE! Me and my family were treated with an unimaginable amount of disrespect. After waiting over an hour for our food and calling the restaurant twice we finally "received" our food. Our order was incorrect and when we spoke to the restaurant about the mistake we were yelled at over the phone by the owner and told the they "didn't know" how to credit us and could not deliver what we had ordered. I don't understand why they couldn't drop off the food we PAID for considering we live less than a half mile from the restaurant. Do not ever order from this establishment. Increasingly rude and have actually stolen from my family. read more
