The Pavilion serves up some seriously delicious Chinese cuisine at very reasonable prices. I always look forward to stopping by for thier Lunch Specials whenever possible because I know that I'll leave here FULLy Satisfied. As one would expect their menu is loaded with plenty of options to choose from and so far I've been methodically working my way down this list of some of my all time favorite dishes.    Now I don't exactly know who General Tso was but that dude must've been super special to have this incredible meal named after him. What a salute right? In any case Zuo Zongtang also known as Tso Tsung-t'ang himself would be extremely proud to dine here at the Pavilion and enjoy his delicious namesake meal. I know I certainly do. We got this delivered and it was okay. Most of the food was lacking some flavor and we weren't thrilled with the quality.

Picked up my order and they never put the soup container on correctly when I got home and picked up the bag the food fell out all over my car and driveway when I called to tell them they basically told me to F off I was so tempted to pick it all up and go throw it on there floor and to stick it up there a hole . Food is mediocre nothing special so me not going there is not a bad thing . Stay away from this place . read more

Looking for a change in ordering Chinese food and was very happy with this restaurant. Their hot and sour soup was so flavorful. Just the right amount of hot and seasoned perfectly. The chicken chow mein was delicious with lots of chicken and a wonderful sauce. The pork fried rice also was nicely prepared with excellent flavors. Even their egg rolls were nice and crispy without being greasy. Will be adding the China Pavilion to our list of takeout locations. read more

Hands down the best Chinese take out. I've eaten here many times and it's always the same. Big portions and tasty. Reminds me of the old Golden China in West Orange. People on here complaining about no authentic Chinese dishes on the menu or no alternative Chinese menu. . If you want that go to Jersey City or NYC. read more

Had Hunan shrimp, brown rice and hot and sour soup takeout. Portion was generous enough but, I hate to say it, this was the worst Chinese food I ever had. Specifically, the taste blends seem to be off: hot and sour soup tasted like pure vinegar with a lot of sugar, the shrimp dish was so hot-meaning spicy, I actually couldn't eat it and I like spicy food. This is the second time we've ordered from this restaurant, although it was sometime ago. I wasn't that crazy about it last time, but I figured it was a one off. So not my taste. read more

All my husband kept asking for was Chinese food and every place was closed. Read about China Pavilion on our local moms facebook page and everyone raved about it. We were getting coffee at the Dunkin next door and I realized this was the Chinese place they had mentioned. We quickly called in a pick up order. I had the sweet and sour chicken with wonton soup. Consistently great food. The order is always correct and complete. We love the cheese wonton appetizer --they are like candy! They use nice cuts of meat and provide generous portions. My go-to is the Kung Pao chicken. The vegetables are always fresh and in abundance. The worst part is the uncontrollable drooling in the car on the way home. read more

Love this place. My family and I have ordered here for as long as I can remember. I've moved away to California and I always need to get and order of tofu and broccoli when I visit. I love this place! I usually come here at least once a week for lunch. I get the lunch combo, which is a great deal. In addition to the special, you can either get a free drink or a small soup, which is great. The food itself is also pretty good. Firstly the lady owner of this place is a very happy-smiley-chirpy lady.... she is always fun to talk to... Service is pretty quick...Being a vegetarian, there is not much on the menu I can order although I love their Scallion Pancakes...they are awesome!! I always do take out when coming here so my review is solely based on that. The service quick and fine but the food tastes better to me then alot of local resturants. I have had the steamed dumplings at half a dozen chinese resturants in the past and this place makes them the best. I have had other dishes over time from there and they taste healthier to me. The sauce is different as opposed to other resturants in a good way. I find this place to be one of the better in the area. However they don't deliver so you have to go pick up. That isn't a problem for me being I live close anyways. read more

It's your typical ABC (American Bad Chinese). No real Chinese dishes on the menu, e.g. 'Dry Sautéed String Beans' are NOT dry sautéed at all. Szechuan dishes are NOT Szechuan, they don't even use Szechuan peppercorns. I even asked them if they have a Chinese menu (real Chinese), the answer was "No". Many Chinese restaurants around the country have two menus, and one of them is for Americans. We have lived in Asia for many years but have come across authentic Chinese food in the USA before. In NJ, however, we have not found any. You'd think, being so close to NYC, we could find a real Chinese restaurant around Montville. We have ordered from here a few times though because we know what we're getting and have low standards when it comes to "Chinese" food in NJ. The place is clean (you can see the kitchen when you walk in) and the staff is friendly. It does have some tables but it's really just a take-out place, they do not deliver. Tip: They put a LOT of white onions in most of their dishes, big chunks that seem to act as filler. I request NO white onions when I order but ask for green onions instead. read more

This used to be my favorite quick to go Chinese food spot! Their lunch specials are VERY inexpensive and the quality was always good. The last two times I've come here, I was soooo disappointed in the quality. recently, the chicken was like rubber. The entire chicken and broccoli dish had a very odd taste to it and the rice was maybe over cooked? Just icky. I threw it out because something didn't taste right and the chicken was very dark and rubbery. Really not appetizing. So disappointing as I used to come here weekly. This is a good Chinese Restaurant where you can either take out or (they have a few tables) eat in, if you so choose. They are happy to cook to your specific requests (more or less spicy or whatever) and I can easily say I have never had a bad meal there, and over the years, I have had eaten many lunches and dinners with friends at this location. Do you accept decent food over terrible hygiene? I watched the lady who is always there wash her hands but afterwards blow her nose into her apron she was wearing. I then watched her use tongs to take 4 or 5 chunks of chicken from my general tso that was sitting on the prep counter waiting for my wontons. She say then laid it to the side in a small bowl and started snacking on it. Although there was plenty, just doesn't set well with me. This is absolutely the BEST Chinese food in the Montville Area. They dont deliver, which stinks, but the food is so good I dont mind taking a few minute ride to get it.
