    (SO) Fried Rice

Was recommended to come here with our friends who live nearby and was so happy we came! We did make a reservation- and good thing cause the place was PACKED when we got there which is usually a good sign of great food. We all got hibachi and I splurged for a pinacolada! The rice was an "extra" fee but was worth every penny. We really enjoyed our time here.

What a treasure of a sushi restaurant in Denville ! If you know me I like ambience more than anything . I did a take out because it was early sat pm . Wanted to be home . Worked out well brought the black rice lobster roll and seaweed salad home and enjoyed it immensely ! A dazzling place and now I learned they have happy hour for drinks and special rolls etc. Need to try that on a week day - they played approachable 70s music I would even prefer Asian for full effect but that's me . I will be back !

We went to one of our favorite restaurants in Denville Sogo on Friday night I'll celebrate my grandson's birthday and I gotta tell you from the time we walked in till the time we left we had an amazing time. The food was amazing. 5 Stars service was amazing and the entertainment was great. The kids love going to Sogo. The food is good fresh And this is just a great place to have a family dinner.

    "Traditional" cocktail (my favorite).

Tried Sogo last night after hearing from a trusted friend that it had improved. Staff were much better than previous recent experiences, food quality & quantity were on par with my previous great experiences before things "declined". Prices have increased, but not out of proportion with other places I frequent.

It is a good place to have birthday party with friends and the food is tasty with various kinds of drinks, sitting outside by the river is amazing, a few times here each year with friends.

The restaurant was very beautiful but that was probably the only good thing besides our server who was friendly. The food was not good quality for the price and we could tell the cook did not want to be there as he put on his little show. I was hoping for at least good food but the scallops were very fishy and the steak did not taste good either. The quality was not there. The fried rice was tasty and crispy which I enjoyed so thank God for that. The amount of food served was good but because it didn't taste good it was not even worth it. My husband who ordered a veg pad Thai did not receive his food until after everyone else in the party was almost done eating which did not make any sense. There are better hibachi restaurants out there. Overall our experience was okay but I would not return.

Beautiful restaurant. Their outside seating is gorgeous. I opted for the hibachi. Very fun and delicious meal. Drinks were strong.

Had a great evening with my Meetup Group here last Thursday. Hibachi Chefs here are really great and the Service was top-notch. Cocktails were quite good, and they used fresh ingredients for their fruit based drinks. We were a large group, and each of us ordered different types of Protein for the Hibachi, and everything tasted good. Seafood was a little overcooked, but they still tasted great, and it's bound to differ from Chef to Chef, so no big deal. Wish I had ordered some Sushi and other Menu items but the Hibachi order itself was more than filling, so stopped myself.

Meh. Underwhelmed and under seasoned. Arrived at 4:15 on a Saturday and were sat to a hibachi table. We sat down and spread out throughout the whole table as there were 6 of us. The host told us to move closer together as it is going to get busy. I looked around the restaurant. There was one other table. Again, it was 4:15pm. Ordered, rice is an extra cost. However we were served soup and edamame right away. Nice touch. The waitress came over and took away the 4 other plates for the other patrons who "may" have been sat with us. We then took that as invitation to remove a chair and spread out. Which is what we wanted to do to begin with. Didn't make sense for 6 of us to be squished at one half of the table ‍ I ordered vegetable tempura as an appetizer. It was not good. The vegetables were cut super thick, the batter was super thick. I ate 3 out of the 8 pieces and passed it for everyone else to try. They all agreed we've had better at every other hibachi place ever. The hibachi chef was good. The food however was not seasoned well. It was missing something. I kept dipping my steak in the sauce accompaniment. Portion sizes were very big. The hibachi vegetables were cut super large. When the whole meal was over, we all discussed how it was so-so. Nothing wrong per say, but nothing great either. We had to wait a while for the check. $300 for 6 of us (4 adults, 2 kids). 18% tip automatically added and included. Tried Sogo once, won't be back.

You would think the owner would apologize or say something but this clearly shows that he doesn't care.

Is this restaurant BYOB or do they have a cocktail/drink menu?

The have a full bar, with some cool top shelf options also. Check out their cocktail menu too.

Is there a restaurant in Atlanta? I'm still waiting......

The staff is fast and attentive and the theme / atmosphere is clean and authentic. Last table we had was Osaka inspired. We used to go to our local sushi place which was good. This used to be one of my favorite all you can eat sushi spots, and I honestly recommended it to a lot of people. I hadn't been back in about a year, but since it's always packed, I assumed the quality was still the same. Unfortunately, it wasn't. The biggest issue was the freshness. The sushi tasted like it had been prepared hours earlier instead of being made fresh to order. The fish lacked that fresh, clean flavor I remembered, and the texture just wasn't right. The sashimi slices were surprisingly tiny compared to what they used to serve, and both the eel and the albacore tuna tasted old, which was really disappointing. On top of that, the portions were noticeably smaller across several dishes. I don't mind smaller portions at an all you can eat restaurant if the quality is there, but this time neither the quality nor the freshness met the standard I remembered. I'm not sure if management or the kitchen has changed, but the experience was completely different from what it used to be. I truly hope this was just an off day because this restaurant was once one of my favorites. Sadly, based on this visit, I can't say I'd rush back.

The bad news is they lost points due to making us wait almost an hour for a small order -the staff is very nice but they appeared to be filling a ton of Grubhub orders before us and the place was half empty. Other issue - the main one- is their prices are astronomical for a hole in the wall joint in Morristown. As high as any of the Manhattan glam spots, i.e. Soho, Madison Ave, Columbus Circle, etc. Where else do you pay $13 for a salmon roll? 90% of places charge around $7-8 per, so you're looking at a very steep bill. Again, the fish is great but be prepared to spend hi end prices for a hole in the wall joint.
