If I lived in Dublin I would come here for breakfast all the time. I loved the breakfast here so much, we came back twice. For the price you get a lot of food. I got the mini vegetarian first and then tried the mini Irish breakfast. My boyfriend always got the full versions and our meals always came with toast + butter. Trust me, either way you will be full after eating here. And happy. The interior is spacious and bright from the numerous windows. On the overcast rainy days we experienced the atmosphere inside was great; warm, comfortable, and relaxed. It seems to start getting crowded after 10AM but when we came at 9AM there were plenty of tables. Service was friendly and they have free wifi! Absolutely love this place! Loads of breakfast options healthy and not so healthy! FYI scrambled egg and toast is basically a large veggie brekkie and its oh so tasty! The salad bar is to die for and the chef's special changes everyday so lots to choose from! Also great in the summer to just chill outside with an iced tea!! Love this place! Everything is between €5-9. The food is really good and all sourced locally. Always has lots of people and a great atmosphere, yet I have never had to wait for a table. Regardless of the time, it is always breakfast that I have come here for. Unlike Wuff around the corner, you do not need a reservation to get a great breakfast here. Mini-Irish only €4.95 and Full-Irish €7.95. The staff are friendly and I really do like the feel of this place. It is very relaxed and I like to sit on the bench in the back and avail of their free magazines etc. (The have a load of books that you can read or trade for as well) 2 thumbs UP!! read more

Filtered coffee (with unlimited refills!) is a huge plus since otherwise the coffee in Ireland has been disappointing - though they did run out of the filtered coffee when I went the second time, in the afternoon. The avocado toast is a filling vegan option. The salads are great too. As is typical in Ireland, all of the dishes here benefit from salt, pepper, lemon, and chili flakes. I'm told the salmon was very good. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, outdoor (covered) seating. Mix of tourists and locals. I think I've made it clear in my Yelp reviews over the years that I'm really not the biggest fan of breakfast. But when in Ireland.. How could I not try traditional Irish breakfast? We decided to try our luck at Third Space because it's conveniently located next to the Jameson Distillery which we were planning on visiting. It's a little off the beaten path--especially if you're planning on walking to get there--but with the help of google maps, it's easy enough to find. There is both outside and inside seating available, but since it was freezing, I was more than happy to take my meal inside. When you walk in, both food and drink menus are displayed above where you can place your order. The staff here are so genuinely friendly and happy, it's contagious! The overall environment of Third Space is bright, cozy and warm. If I lived in Dublin, I could definitely see myself here cozying up with a book (which they provide!) and a coffee on a lazy day. The name, Third Space starts to make sense too when you see how many people use this place not as just a cafe or coffee joint, but as a place to meet and actually crank out some work. Way to make me feel lazy on vacation, guys! The menu is pretty big, and from what it seems they have a little something for everyone. From the real deal of a hot, hearty meal to light snacks and pastries and coffee, they cover all the bases. I went with the full Irish breakfast to get the entire experience, plus a cup of tea which came out to less than €10. Not too shabby at all considering the sheer amount of food that the breakfast includes! The full Irish comes with two eggs cooked the way you like, sausage, bacon, pudding, sautéed mushrooms and tomatoes, beans, and a mini stack of toasts. I can't say enough how much I great the breakfast is here! My over easy eggs were cooked to runny, yolky perfection and the thick cut slices of bacon were cooked to a nice yummy crisp! The mushrooms, tomatoes and beans were also so simple, but as soon as I cleaned them off my dish I kept wishing I had more! Breakfast may not be my favorite meal, but this has definitely gotta be one of my favorite breakfasts! read more

This was our first stop when we arrived in Dublin for breakfast. It is a great little local stop. They have shared bookshelves and toys for kids to play with. The breakfast was average. Nothing to rave about but also filling and a good value. The service was a bit slow but they were also very busy. The staff was kind and helpful. Last time that we went there, my bf ordered a hot chocolate, and as we were seated close to the preparation area, we saw how they did it: mixing chocolate powder and milk. This is simply put one of the best cafes in Dublin. Specializing in breakfast and lunch, they serve a combination of hot breakfasts including a great Full Irish as well as American pancakes served with maple syrup and bacon that reminds me of home.Their lunch selection consists of a number of freshly made sandwiches ready for toasting and a few specials of the day (typically a quiche and a curry but they can get creative). While the food is delicious, it's the ambience of the place that really makes it great. The staff is very friendly and the location and community are very welcoming. It's the type of cafe where some people just stop in for a quick bite but others might stay for hours working on laptops or catching up with friends, drinking their third pot of tea. There is a sign leading to the back of the seating area that says "Up here it's okay to talk to strangers" which is something that frequently happens as I've heard some of the most amusing impromptu conversations pop up here on a rainy Tuesday afternoon. Cute cafe and lunch spot! We stopped here on a whim on our way to the Jameson distillery and it was perfect. The goat cheese wrap was so fresh and the flavors complemented one another perfectly. The ham and cheese croissant was a perfect combo. They have a cute book corner that you can peruse while you are there, or bring a book to replace it if you'd like to bring their book home. I have been coming here for about two years now, so I am well beyond the "honeymoon phase" a person experiences upon finding a nice new café. The allure of the Third Space is that while the faces change, while the clientéle changes, while the books on the shelves change, the ambience and coziness is ever the same. The Third Space is more than hot breakfasts and delectable lunches. It is not defined by the coffees, teas, and juices it offers nor the scones, crumpets, and brownies nor the books that frame the gateway to the "friends zone" - the cozy nooks, couches, and tables reserved for people open and willing to meet and share their meal/coffee time with fellow Third Spacers. The Third Space is for community, creativity, family, friendship, and fellowship all centred around one of the more joyous aspects of daily living, namely, the dining table. I heard good reports about Third Space but was sorely dissapointed. I went for Sunday brunch, an experience I usually really enjoy, but sadly not this time! I ordered pancakes with bacon - the safe choice. The pancakes tasted like the came straight from a packet and the bacon was at best, average. So that's it for me and Third Space! read more

I LOVE everything about Third Space. The food is fresh and bursting with flavour, the staff are beyond lovely, and the actual cafe is perfect. I've been there a few times, and I have never had a bad experience. The first time I visited I was alone, but I had a book with me. I understand that a lot of cafes aren't particularly fond of people coming in with a book, as they want a quick turnover of tables and readers tend to linger, and I think that's fine, but Third Space is not that kind of cafe. Once you sit down, the table is yours. They will by no means make you feel rushed, or give you the impression that you're holding up a table.If anything, the staff seem to enjoy the fact that you want to stay as long as you can. I had porridge and a blueberry muffin, both top notch. The porridge was possibly the best that I've had in a cafe, really creamy and piping hot. The muffins are all made in house, and you can tell. Delicious. I also had a hot chocolate. Amazing. I chose the milk chocolate, but they also do dark, white, mint and chilli. CHILLI! I will definitely be trying that next time, and I was kicking myself when I noticed after I had sat down. I've gone back time and time again, and I will continue to do so. This is great lunch spot. Always a queue but don't worry I haven't failed to get a table yet. The staff are lovely and each time I pay I think 'oh that was reasonable'. As a veggie I can't speak of the whole menu, but the soups are always really nice, with that chunky homemade feel and the tarts are really tasty. They always have funky salads, like today I had a waldorfy type one with apple, celery, walnuts and grape. The staff are LOVELY and the caramel squares are to die for and totally fat free (I might be lying there but I'm no expert ;) ). Oh and if you are having a particularly hard day at the office they also serve wine. As the server said today when asked what type, he said 'two types, red and white'! But i saw a pinot grigio anyway. There are carafes of water on every table. They also have books on shelves which you can borrow to read while there. If you get really into a book you can take it but you have to bring one to swap it, if not they will 'burn your coffee'. read more

Great little find by the Jameson Factory, before hopping back on the bus. They seem to have great breakfast, which is what we were looking forward to, But their kitchen closes at 13:00 on weekdays and 15:00 on weekends! They do have paninis, sandwiches and cold salads and pasties still after that. Just wished their kitchen would stay open later. The paninis were good, the spinach/goat cheese/pesto/tomatoes wrap was quite oily, which probably came mostly from the cheese. Their prices were reasonable and the coffee was good. read more

Great location in a quieter part of Dublin (Smithfield Square) near the Jameson Distillery. Third Space is a perfect spot for breakfast if you have a larger group of people with various age groups and picky eaters. They have a variety of options for all your breakfast/brunch needs ranging from pastries and porridge bowls to a full Irish (traditional or vegetarian). I ate here several times during my stay at the Generator Hostel due to their quality service and consistently fullfiling dishes. This place is casual and has mostly breakfast and lunch items. They close at 6;30 during the week and 4:00 pm on Sat. and Sundays. They have some pastries and offer typical breakfast food. I found the yogurt with fruit and granola to be pretty good. Coffee was ok. You order at the counter and they will bring the food to you. There are bookshelves with books you can browse and if you want one, you are asked to leave one as a trade which is a fun feature. I also had the tuna melt sandwich which was pretty good, nothing special but ok. It is convenient if you are staying in Smithfield and prices are decent. read more

Ended up here by accident, but totally loved this place. It's bright and spacious, but still has a cozy feel about it. Not only do they have a great selection of options, but everything is made in house and very inexpensive. I had the chicken ciabatta panani which was absolutely delicious and finished it with a lovely brownie and cappucino. For 2 sandwiches, 2 coffees and a dessert it was roughly €20.00. We were going to head to Oscars but I'm much happier I ended up here because 2 people ate for the price of 1. I am looking forward to heading back and trying a few more things on the menu. This is a very clean looking, minimal space in Smithfield, nice for a bit of people-watching and good for getting some work done-- I could see a few heads behind laptops so I assume there are a couple of sockets at least. I sat outside and the server brought me my coffee, and I also had a very fillling and interesting sweet potato, chilli & coconut soup. The little suspended coconut shavings were a strange sight but didn't give too much of a strange texture and the flavour was just INCREDIBLE. Would definitely come all the way to here just for that soup again. The coffee was delicious also and I appreciated it being brought to me. I was very impressed with the meal I got for lunch right after my tour of the nearby Jameson Distillery. I got the hot meal offering: cheesy chicken on hot mash. It was absolutely delicious. The chicken was moist and cooked well, covered with Parmesan. The mash was hot and buttery. The meal came with choice of two salads. Wasn't too impressed with the couscous but I don't usually like it either so I can hold it against them. The brownie I ordered for dessert was moist and very chocolatey. Besides great food, the price was very reasonable. Lots of food and only €7.50. The staff were helpful and gave us a free coffee when whoever ordered it couldn't be found. The atmosphere was great, too! I wish I lived nearby this place because it was great! Highly recommend for a good price on a delicious lunch. read more

This was our favorite breakfast spot in all of Ireland. They have a small menu but it covers all the bases. Their positions are filling and coffee was out of this world. They had a lot of locals and not many tourist which was nice for a change. When we go back to Ireland I'll defiantly be back here. read more

This is a coffee review only. Stepped in, nice space and all that. Looks decidedly cool. On my relentless search for great coffee in Dublin I ordered a small flat white to go. The bloke that made it was pleasant. But 2.95€ for a small coffee is too much anywhere. Its not only Third Space that is guilty of this. 2.95€ is 3€ and a shot of espresso costs a cafe about .20c at most. Factor in the 200ml of milk, the paper cup and the work it took to make it. Is it worth 3€? I think not, no way Jose! The coffee was very good mind you, perfectly balanced milk coffee and a nice temperature. So long moan short is that the coffee is good but the price is not. This is the price of cool. Will come back to try the food which looks good. read more
