This is the first place in Dublin that felt like a special place that I wouldn't find anywhere else. When we came in, the place was filled with Irish locals. I got the Full Irish Breakfast, which comes with two fried eggs, two black puddings, one white pudding, bacon, tomatoes and sausage. It's a lot of meat and they're all tasty. The puddings were particularly good - loved the creamy livery taste of them. They also gave us extra toast for no cost. The two girls in the restaurant were very sweet and friendly. They have very affordable lunch specials - including steak pie and fresh trout. I'd love to come back to try them. read more

Located on a side-street off Camden street (the one next to Fresh) this café is a good place for a quiet breakfast. Since it's surrounded by more posh and popular breakfast/brunch spots there are usually free tables and you'll be greeted by friendly staff eager to take your order. What's best about it, it's cheap! A real recession buster. They offer a generous portion of full Irish breakfast for only €6.50, porridge for €1.30, paninis for €4.00, quiche and salad for €5.50 and €8.50 Sirloin steaks for hungry lunch-time diners. That has to be said one of the best prices in the area. The coffee is cheap too (€1.60), but don't expect any flower pattern in your latté. Making coffee is not seen as an art form here. You'll get a regular coffee in a cup, just like your granny would make it. For me, picking this place for my morning eggs is more about the atmosphere. It feels like having breakfast in someone's home. Gerry's café isn't trying to be stylish in decorations or innovative in the kitchen. There are plenty of those places minutes away. For a simple and tasty breakfast, it does the job more than well, and that's why I'll come back. read more

Loath to call Gerry's a greasy spoon because of the negative connotations, they serve a 1st class, deadly (in every sense of the world) fried breakfast. The attached photo does more to explain than mere words. All that sinful pleasure with tea and toast for 7 quid. What's not to like? As the local constabulary seem to frequent here in numbers, it is probably safe to say there's no better value or quality to be found. We loved this little coffee shop!! Both times I was there I had the mini irish breakfast, which was more than enough to keep you going well into the afternoon, and a flat white which was delicious! You could tell that the staff cared about your experience and were very attentive. When they had time they chatted, knowing we were tourists. Gerry's was good!! My dad and walked quite a ways to come here for lunch. The food was pretty good. My dad got a breakfast meal and I had a tuna melt. Both were really tasty. The environment was comfortable and quaint. It's a really small place so probably not great for large groups. Our server was really nice and I believe we may have been talking to Gerry himself at one point. Such a great little place to relax and enjoy a quiet lunch. read more

Just and adorable little breakfast place. I had an omelette which really hit the spot. They brought over warm toast and butter prior to breakfast. My wife had the poached eggs and bacon. We found this little traditional Irish Cafe in Dublin near Stephen's green. I had the traditional Irish breakfast which consists of: Suuny side up egg, Irish bacon, 2 sausages, a black and white pudding with half of a tomato, a very sweet tomato I've ever had. To wash it down with some traditional Irish coffee. If you find yourself nearby, be sure to have breakfast, lunch or dinner here. What a secret gem! Jerry's has a Full Irish for 9 euros with coffee. And if you don't like all that animal stuff you can get porridge with fruit. If you're lucky jerry will take time to gab about Ireland...and lots of advice about museums and day trips. Locals-watching is a plus. read more

So a good friend of mine is Irish and said that I had to have an Irish breakfast when I visited Dublin. I am not really a breakfast person but Gerry makes one hell of a breakfast that will leave you satisfied until dinner. Very reasonable prices and they have excellent tea. Finding Gerry's was a catch! It's a beautiful little restaurant, nicely decorated, not posh and absolutely friendly. Food is top quality, good fresh ingredients. Service is warm and friendly. I come here all the time and the prices are amazing. Sometimes the food you get is great, sometimes it's just average, but it does the job. Gerry himself is a bit of a character as are some of the regulars. The staff are really helpful and friendly and they know at this stage exactly what I want so there's no need to ask for fruit salad without ice cream or for a cup of tea. It's just deposited on my table after the main course is finished. It's very working class, but you'd be surprised at the clientele. From auld fogeys to Gards to Solicitors and everything in between. Read about Gerry's right here, on Yelp, and decided to grab breakfast during a trip to Dublin last week. Excellent choice! Breakfast was filling, delicious and very reasonably priced. I almost didn't write this review because it's become one of my favorite cafes in town. I stumbled upon Gerry's when I was venturing to try something new in Dublin. Transitioning out of my tourist period, I wanted to try some of the lesser known eateries and I'm so glad Yelp pointed me in the right direction. I came in Gerry's with a mean craving for an omelette and luckily enough, they have a make-your-own section on the menu. It's ~€6.50 for anything you'd like in it--so I got everything. My omelette included bell peppers, onions, tomatoes, cheese, mushrooms, and all sorts of deliciousness. It's was extremely filling, so it was well worth the price; I couldn't even finish it! Not only is the food wonderful, but the service here is as well. The gentleman who waited on me was very friendly and welcoming. Needless to say I'm making this my local.... even if it's not so local. read more

What a great hidden gem. Gerrys is a great greasy spoon that gives you what you need to get your day started. The Irish breakfast here is amazing a will set you up for whatever your day entails; be it sightseeing or travelling. The staff are so friendly and the refills of coffee are always welcome. The price is really good too for breakfast, lunch and dinner and the dinner menu is typical Irish menu me meat and veg. There are vegetarian options as well. All in all, I love this place and would recommend it highly. read more

Some of the best food and service I've ever had! I got the Mini Breakfast and everything was cooked and seasoned perfectly and arrived at my table within 15 minutes of me ordering it. My waiter was so friendly and really made me feel welcome. He checked on me throughout the meal to make sure I had everything I needed and was even happy to strike up conversation with me about where I was from and how I was enjoying my visit to Dublin. This place seems pretty popular with locals and the two times I've been in I've seen the same people AND the staff greeted me and my girlfriend, remembering that we had been there a few days before. Nipped in around lunchtime on a Monday--we were fortunate to find a seat, but folks mostly ate quickly, so they seemed easily able to handle a high volume of customers. Our waitress was bright and efficient: food, and plenty of it, came in a snap. Our chicken curry and cod were good and hearty--not life-changing, but satisfying. Our business started over thirty years ago and we have had the pleasure serving our valued customers over this time . We have a large number of customers who have had their breakfast, lunch and tea with us on most days of days week . We also have the pleasure of welcoming a variety of tourists who enjoy the food, but also breath in the local cliental the chat, banter and craic. Of course there is a real 'Gerry' who has been here from the beginning to add to the atmosphere

They prepare and serve up coffee as a city better than any other city in the world. Sorry Seattle, Portland, its the truth. As a full fledge coffee nerd/snob I am looking for great coffee nothing more. Also if they don't roast their own beans and they are just serving someone else's coffee they will never get above a 3 star from me. I am looking strictly at the coffee and the customer service in my reviews. Accents was fantastic. When I walked in the Barista, a pretty little red headed Irish woman was doing some spectacular latte art on a Mocha, she smiled and asked me what I would like. I order just a regular Latte. They do not roast their own beans, but she was out of coffee in the grinder, she reached for a new sealed bag and I caught the name, McCabe's. I watched the Barista, fill the grinder and then told me it would be a minute as she needed to dial in the espresso. I shook my head in a circle like I didn't get it but okay. She had it dialed in after 3 shots. looked like 18 in and 36 out. She was a pro, steamed my milk while the shot pulled in about 24 seconds. I ordered my drink to go but it was still presented with great art and a smile. Told me where the sugar and lids were but suggested I tried it before i added anything, that the espresso is very good. I tasted it and said, "You are right, needs nothing" and it didn't. BEST LATTE I HAVE HAD THIS TRIP TO DUBLIN. I am breaking my own rule here, I can because they are my rules, they don't roast but they use fantastic local Micro-roasted beans and prepare my drink to perfection. Don't miss this little gem the in Dublin. 5 Stars.

Delicious breakfast spot…read more This is a tiny cafe with about 6 tables inside. The owners are from Spain but they make a mad Irish breakfast. Their Irish breakfast is so good. Tasty beans, toast, bacon, and sausage. The blood pudding was pretty good too. The eggs were made good as well - perfect over easy. I think you can ask for over easy or hard egg. There were locals and tourists alike in this cafe. It was so nice. The iced latte was not great (too sweet), but the flat white was just right. We enjoyed the Irish breakfast so much we had to go one more time before we left Dublin.
