    Lunch soup and sandwich combo
    Cin C.

An unexpected find on the second floor of a store. Cafeteria style cafe that takes a little to get oriented, but everyone is very nice and helpful (even the patrons). I got the soup and sandwich combo, which was delicious and perfect for lunch. The mushroom soup was really good and the egg and bacon sandwich was filling. Would definitely recommend for a quick lunch in the city centre. Plenty of seating even though it gets super busy during lunch time. Seems like some tour groups stop here also for a meal. Thankfully tables turn over quickly and you can snag one with little issue.

I had fun trying to decide what to eat here because there were so many choices. The pastries were calling me but I chose the meat pie that comes with veggies, potatoes, carrots. Hubby got a chicken sandwich that was pretty good too. The food is hot, delicious and reasonably priced for being in the middle of Dublin. Love the quick and easy cafeteria style where you just point and choose what you would like to eat. This is located on top of a shopping center and you just need to walk up a flight of stairs. Many tables and seats to choose from. Would be good for coffee dates or quick lunches.

Love this place. Love being able to choose 5 things for 7.95. I chose ham, sausage, mushroom, fried egg and blood sausage. The meal came with tea ( or coffee) and toast. If you've got food allergies you can choose exactly what you think is safe. It's casual. You've got a tray to put your food on. We chose to look out over the store, but to they've window seats as well. If you've got a big party, they have you covered. They have some very large tables. This casual place wouldn't be to everyone's taste, but it was perfect for me.

Key lime pie, fruit bowl, coffee

Great little cafe next to Trinity College. We stopped in before we toured the Book of Kells. I had a slice of key lime pie (gluten free! Yay ), which was very good. It could have used a bit more key lime juice for a little bite but it was very tasty as is. My husband got eggs, toast, and sausage. His portion was very hearty and tasty. This is a great option if you are in a hurry .

Where can one get a traditional Irish breakfast on a budget? It's quite easy! Kilkenny has a cafe on the second floor that offers an inexpensive breakfast that consists of blood pudding, sausage, eggs, potato cakes, mushrooms, tomatoes, your choice of toast, and coffee/tea. Is it just me or is that name funny sounding? South Park comes to mind. You can get all of that for about €6. If you want additional items, it will only be a few euros more. Big plus is they have an ATM inside, free wifi and you can do some shopping after you are done eating. They are my go to breakfast spot in the morning for at least the next few days.

The scone is soooo good, moist and flavorful, almost doesn't need any spread at all. Got a tea brack just to try something traditionally Irish and the overload of dried fruit got a bit much for me toward the end. The place is somewhat chaotic and is upstairs from a gift shop. Might have to share tables during lunch hour.

Upstairs from the Kilkenny Shop is the restaurant and café, a gathering place for locals and those who are visiting. Excellent pastries, friendly staff, and very casual, homey atmosphere, cafeteria style. The cakes and scones are house-made fresh daily and so delicious. My daughter, her husband, and I re-connected with my Irish pen pal from childhood as well as my first-grade teacher and her 4th-grade teacher. Such fun! We visited for over three hours with pots of tea while nibbling on baked goods. On Nassau Street, this a place that you must stop when in Dublin., even if it's for a cup of tea and a slice of Irish hsopitality.

Where else can you find breakfast for 5€ in Dublin on the weekend? Kilkenny offers your choice of any four items (sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs, eggs benedict, mushroom, pudding assortment (black and white) or cherry tomatoes plus toast and coffee or tea. You can even substitute an Americano instead of coffee. It is a great deal for the money in a really great location across from Trinity college. I frequent this place every few weeks or so and really enjoy the great window seats which overlook Nassau street. I would say that they cater to families in that they have a number of high chairs for small children and babies. One big downside is that the restaurant is on the 1st floor through and there is no lift, so if you have a buggy, you need to carry it up. The security guards and waiters have always offered to help though. The shop downstairs is worth a browse also. I have found a few nice little gifts to send to friends and family.

The bustling atmosphere of Kilkenny restaurant stands in sharp contrast to the calmness of the shop below. The shop is quiet with customers almost talking in whispers and moving about slowly (probably afraid of knocking over €1,000 worth of Waterford Crystal). The restaurant is noisy and busy, and with one long room of tables and chairs, it has the feeling of a big, upmarket canteen! The food is traditional and hearty with staples such as soup, quiche, casseroles, homemade bread, cakes and pies. A selection of wraps, sandwiches and panini are also available. It is fairly standard and reliable lunch fare, just don't expect anything too innovative. People are constantly milling around so don't expect tranquillity either (in fairness, I don't think you should expect tranquillity in any Dublin restaurant at lunch hour!). Ingredients are fresh and additive free, and gluten-free options are available. If you can, nab a seat by the window to overlook Nassau Street and Trinity College.

Very good breakfast. Well priced and you get a good amount of food as well. I can recommend the porridge, full irish breakfast and the pastries since we had them, but pretty much everything looked good. The staff was helpful, too.

I've been meaning to try this restaurant out for a long time now and finally got the chance to come for a Saturday lunch with my mom. It's tray service so you can see everything which was good, and was pleasantly surprised to see a lot of fish on the menu! They have a cold food/ salad section and from there they had a choice of fish (plain salmon, sweet chilli salmon, trout, mackerel and smoked salmon) or cold cut meat plus 2 salads for around 12 euro. The salads are similar to the vegetarian ones in Cornucopia, like kidney beans, beetroot salad, couscous, potato etc.., which were really nice. They also have quiche and pies. My mom got the hot food, which has the usual carvery (meat, veg, potatoes) and chicken curry with rice. The rice was really bad though as it was all hard and dry. There's also a nice selection of pastries and desserts. The atmosphere is great; very lively, bright with a view from above and there's plenty of seats. Prices were moderate ranging from 10-15 euro and the service was average, nothing special. Overall, great cafe with plenty of options to choose from. There is also an ATM!

Since I don't eat red meat, I was very excited to see a vegetarian Irish breakfast option. I ordered this as well as a mocha latte. Despite the rain, my friend and I sat outside since all of the indoor seating was occupied. Thankfully some heaters provided warmth for what could've been a chilly breakfast. Very quickly the lattes came out which my friend and I sipped on. They were soooo cute, mine had the design of a little bear on top! The latte itself was hot and not too sweet, the perfect start to the experience. After a few short minutes, the food came out! Immediately, my friend and I dug in. It was honestly everything I expected and even more! There were no weak links on the plate and there were generous portions as well. I sat there for a while working my way through my delicious plate!! Overall, I was very happy with my experience at Beanhive. It was an aesthetic cafe that also provided a hearty breakfast. I would definitely recommend.

The first day we arrived to Dublin, I had a bit of a headache. I sent my husband in search of coffee and a bite in the hopes of warding off the headache. He brought back a tuna melt and mocha from The Bald Barista. Both were excellent. The tuna melt was herbaceous and flavorful and the mocha was the perfect blend or rich chocolate and strong espresso. So, a few days later when my mom arrived and was hoping for coffee and a bite, I said--I've got just the place! On that visit, we enjoyed our coffee and food in house. You order at the counter where you enter and if you're dining in, you simply take the stairs to the dining room and they'll bring you both your food and coffee. This time, I ordered the same coffee (why mess with a good thing) and a yogurt with everything (fruit, nuts, seeds--the works!). The shop itself is cute, warm, and inviting. The service is top notch with beautifully friendly folks working in here (including the Bald Barista himself). I am looking strictly at the coffee and the customer service in my reviews. Accents was fantastic. When I walked in the Barista, a pretty little red headed Irish woman was doing some spectacular latte art on a Mocha, she smiled and asked me what I would like. I order just a regular Latte. They do not roast their own beans, but she was out of coffee in the grinder, she reached for a new sealed bag and I caught the name, McCabe's. She had it dialed in after 3 shots. looked like 18 in and 36 out. She was a pro, steamed my milk while the shot pulled in about 24 seconds. I ordered my drink to go but it was still presented with great art and a smile. Told me where the sugar and lids were but suggested I tried it before i added anything, that the espresso is very good.
