Friends found this on TikTok and found it highly recommended. From their understanding the staff are supposed to be "rude" to you but I didn't find they were. Maybe sarcastic but not rude. What was annoying was them telling everyone their credit card machine would be down and then you'd have to wash dishes or stay until it came back up. They did this to the table next to us but then came back and seemed like it was a joke and was like "oh it's back up." When it came time for us to pay they said it was down and needed to pay cash. We pushed back a little and said you've literally said that to everyone then the guy became rude. So we get out cash and go to pay and he's like oh I'm restarting the machine you can pay by card. That was annoying. Other than that place was small and quaint. Serves traditional Irish breakfast items. Food was good, just don't expect anything to be favorable. Graham our server was funny and kept the line of people waiting to enter entertained. We ordered the black coffee and scrambled eggs and bacon. The coffee was robust and piping hot. Had to wait a few minutes and ended up sharing a table with a lovely Canadian couple (love the they did this to cut down on wait time!). Food came out quickly and was delicious. The waiter Mocha was a hoot and kept the vibe super fun and energized. The full Irish was delicious and the location was perfect for activities in Dublin. Visiting Ireland for the first time, I did my best to read up on good places to grab a Full Irish Breakfast in Dublin and the Stage Door Café popped up on a few lists, Reddit posts, so I put it on my list to try and I'm glad I did! I walked in on a Tuesday morning and had zero issue getting a table. The inside is relatively small with several tables, as well as a bar to sit and watch the cook work the griddle. It's definitely an older place with lots of old odds and ends hanging around, but was clean. A gentleman came over with the menu but I didn't need it, I knew what I came there for. He was friendly though we didn't speak much, albeit I didn't need much of anything. I sipped on an Irish Coffee, my first time having one, as I waited but it wasn't a long wait. I'll be honest, I was a little anxious ordering a Full Irish Breakfast as the beans and the black/white pudding seemed odd for breakfast but don't knock it until you try it! This was a fantastic meal to start the day. The bacon and sausage were delicious, the eggs cooked perfectly, and the toast was perfectly toasted. I really liked the black/white pudding and I was surprised how well the beans paired with the dish. Dublin is kind of a pricey but for everything I got, no complaints here. The Full Irish Breakfast from Stage Door Café did a great job filling me up and getting me out the door to conquer the day! If I'm ever in Dublin again, I'd come back here to satiate my need for a proper Full Irish Breakfast. read more

My friend found Stage Door Cafe after searching for breakfast spots in the area. There weren't many places open for breakfast on a Monday morning, so we didn't have many choices anyway. That being said, I had a great experience at Stage Door Cafe and would certainly recommend it to others. It was a very cute and cozy cafe with a lot of character. Service was excellent as well. Our waiter was sarcastically funny, but he was helpful and excitedly shared with us some of his favorite bars. I got the feta, pesto, and olive omelette, which came with Irish soda bread. My dish was quite good and very flavorful. My friend got the Irish Breakfast, and it looked fantastic. He said it tasted as good as it looked too. Someone please explain to me why no coffee spots are open in Dublin before 8AM?! After landing at the airport at 5AM and dropping our bags at our hotel, my husband and I were desperate for coffee - and every place we passed by only opened at 8AM or 10AM. WHY? Thankfully - we saw Stage Door Cafe and they had opened early that morning, 730AM, so we eagerly grabbed a table. I enjoyed my first full Irish breakfast yesterday at the Stage Door Cafe and left very much sated. Lads and lasses, get in, sit down, order, eat, and move on because there is likely someone right behind waiting to get in. There's no frills here, just good food and coffee. Don't even think about busting out a laptop here - this is not a place to hang out. You eat - you leave. Them's the rules. The crew here does not feck about. And expect a wee bit of char on those sausages that you'll be happy to wolf down anyway. For less than 20 Euro you get a great plate of food that will keep you fed for several hours. The omelets, beans and toast, etc. I saw at other tables looked just as good. But, seriously, get here early or be prepared for at least a 10-15 minute wait...outside. It's very small and may only accommodate about 10-12 customers. The server/cooks were very lively and made the atmosphere enjoyable. It was my first Irish coffee and was not expecting the shock of the whiskey. It was good every sip. The breakfast which they called an Irish breakfast.
