The baked goods seem to come from a wholesaler like Costco. What disappoint me most is the coffee. The drip and the espresso drinks both. Absolutely wonderful place. The food is decently priced for the area and for how good it is, and the staff is very friendly. I highly recommend their paninis, as they are fantastic. So disappointed in this place. Not sure if it's just a bad day but the food and service was just horrible today. Walked up for a morning coffee and decided on a Dirty Chai that caught my eye on the menu. Absolutely horrible. Tasted so watered down, had to throw it out about 4/5th full. Went back for lunch as I've tried their spicy chicken wrap before and was craving it. Ordered the wrap and grabbed a fruit cup. While waiting I noticed my fruit cup had molded blueberries in the mix. I asked the cashier if I could have it swapped out- THIS MAN PROCEEDED TO REMOVE THE BLUEBERRIES WITH A MIXING SPOON AND HAND IT BACK. I told him there were still moldy blueberries in the cup hoping he would just swap it out as ALL the blueberries were moldy... nope. Once again, removed them with the spoon and handed it back. I threw it out once I walked outside. So disappointed. I don't think I'll be back anytime soon. read more

Yummy Turkey Pesto sandwich, thiccc and flavorful. Soy latte was standard. Cute shop and I found parking easily. Very friendly service. Lots of options on the menu. Studied here for a bit in the morning and it wasn't too crowded. Only thing was I sat by the window and there were lots of mosquitos/bugs. Would still recommend to check the spot out! read more

Great breakfast, sandwich, soup, and salad shop right in the middle of a charming neighborhood. My sandwich was favorable; the bread was well toasted and the meat seasoned to perfection. The place is gorgeous inside; it takes you back to a simpler time when the customer service was superb and the food amazing. I love the green decor and the coffee area. Thinkers is a small neighborhood cafe in a quiet street in Potrero hill, right across the public library and within a block or two away from other thriving local businesses and a park. The inside is a bit small and could probably only seat 3 or 4 groups, but I do I like that they have outdoor seating with a little bit of shade from the trees. I haven't tried any of their food, but I frequent Thinkers for their coffee, their fast service, and the amazing people behind the counter who are super nice and lovely to talk to! read more

The coffee place is across the street from the Potrero Library. They have put 5-6 tables on the sidewalk on the tree lined street which I found very present. I had some iced decaf and a banana cake. The coffee was great (5 star) and cake a 2x thick & good (4 star). But the best part is you can have a seat outside on a present street. read more

It's tiny for a coffee house - you can maybe squeeze in 16 people inside. The necessities are present: bathroom, free secure wi-fi (the signal is weak though), easy (and free) parking, and food. For inspiration, proverbs are painted on the walls from famous thinkers like Confucius. For breakfast choose from bagels, muffins, scones, breakfast burritos, breakfast croissants, oatmeal, fruit bowl, granola, and smoothies. Breakfast is served all day (yay!). For lunch, they have salads and sandwiches (about $7) as well as a soup of the day, wraps and lasagna. Cakes, pies and cookies will tempt your sweet tooth. I had 1/2 a "Potrero" sandwich: a thick pile of fresh spinach, sweet caramelized onions, roasted red peppers and creamy goat cheese on a toasted focaccia roll. The sandwich was quite small. I liked the combination of ingredients but the bread, though toasted, was already cold. The roasted red pepper soup was okay, a bit too sweet. The latte had generous amounts of foam but was just average in strength and flavor. Of Potrero Hill's three independent coffee houses Thinkers is far and away my favorite. The drip coffee isn't the best, but they make excellent espresso drinks. The space is a little small and often crowded....seats about 12 inside and 6 at the outside tables...and the milk/sweetener bar is poorly located...but the service with a smile more than makes up for any shortcomings. In addition to the typical coffee/pastry offerings they have a full menu of breakfast and lunch offerings...a soup of the day, hummus plates, 8 different salads, a half dozen different sandwiches, wraps, breakfast croissants, oatmeal, etc. They catered a neighborhood event for the Trust for Public Land and did a phenomenal job. Each afternoon they have "Thinkin' Hour" from 3 til close: half price Fat Tire & Sangria and Scrabble boards set up. Fun way to spend a summer afternoon. And they get a full star for being puppy-friendly. Saturday and Sunday mornings there are often up to 8-9 dogs crowding the sidewalk on 20th, and they provide ample tie-ups and water for the pups. This was the second time I've been here. Again, the portions are huge! We had the veggie breakfast wrap. Delicious. I would highly recommend this, even to meat eaters! We actually went back the next day and tried the regular breakfast burrito with bacon, but we enjoyed the veggie one better! We also tried the hummus plate. It was tasty.
