This place has good coffee and parklets outside. They also have lots of restaurant pop-ups show up from time to time. Inside you see lots of plants which gives the place good vibes. While 18th St is brand new modern space attached to the Psychiatry Building, (insert joke here), catering to the UCSF staff mostly. This location is for Noe Valley neighbors. Very lived-in, casual vibe. Large parklet. Why the wrap around bench too high for the tables? Inside is the order counter, friendly service. The only inside seating booths for those often cold mornings are taken up with supply boxes, etc. On to the main event, delicious Avocado Toast. A generous slice of artisan bread topped with avocado slices, olive oil & everything seasoning adding to the flavor profile. I know finding perfectly ripe avocados is difficult, so no strikes, but the fruit was one day short of readiness. I added scrambled egg & bacon. Couldn't tell that they microwaved cause there's no kitchen. Bacon was yummy, good balance of crispy & chewy. My London Fog was well prepared. Another minor gripe, everything packaged to-go, cardboard box & disposable recyclable fork & knife. Trying to cut the toast in half produced a mess looking like a rabid raccoon attack. Ok, a bit cranky today, forget all that, really enjoyed my meal & the laid back atmosphere, home to laptop campers, visiting friends, well behaved dogs & baby carriages. First experience was great, in and out 5-10 minutes for to go, second experience I waited 25 minutes for a sandwich, third I placed an ordered through their AI bs number, showed up 20 minutes later to them "just getting the ticket". The AI system is absolute trash and I should have known better to support a business that uses it. I don't recommend going here unless you like inconsistency and ai slop. read more

This is my second time visiting Noe Cafe! I really enjoyed it the first time and decided to come back while I was in the area. Ambiance: Area is relatively easy to find street parking. There are lots of dog owners and families walking around, I felt very safe. I do not think there is any indoor seating, but there are some tables outside. Service: amazing! Baristas were very friendly and accommodating, especially the lovely woman on the register. Fast as well. Drinks: I got a vanilla oat latte and I was happy with the drink. Smooth, creamy and full body. A good solid latte. Food: I ordered the breakfast sandwich with bacon, adding a protein option is an extra $2. I would SKIP THE SANDWICH sadly. It came out very small and sad. I am a smaller girl and did not feel entirely full. Presentation aside, it tasted ok but I thought it was a little dry. Brioche bun was not soft. I would not get this again considering it was $10-$11. Maybe try a pastry next time. We came here on a weekend morning, and it was packed. Most seating was taken, line out of the door, but overall seemed like a super local spot. Lots of families, dogs, really lovely vibes. The interior seating is reserved for staff, but the WiFi works outside too, so a good spot to work. I got a cortado, and it was solid! Milk was a bit frothy for my taste, but still good. Now this is what you call a true neighborhood cafe because it's in the residential area of Noe Valley away from the major commercial artery, 24th Street. Despite my predilections about the name, it's not on Noe but rather Sanchez. It shares a quiet corner at 26th Street with an antique clock repair shop and a place that offers midwifery services. That isn't relevant to the cafe, but I thought it was an interesting socioeconomic comment about the neighborhood. In fact, the space was previously a laundromat where barista Maricar Lagura served coffee in a corner of it. I just like the idea of a cafe thriving in a space you least expect it. I only came upon it when I was taking a long walk from Diamond Heights and thought I could get some libation to fill my tank. They apparently serve salads and sandwiches, and I was even there for Taco Thursdays complete with a staff member wearing a sombrero. However, it was their coffee and baked goods that have drawn my eye on more than one occasion. I had their fine $3.75 cup of Brewed Coffee (photo: https://bit.ly/3U1RnVU) but upgraded to a $5 Iced Latte on my recent return (photo: https://bit.ly/3RGgc86). What remained consistent was my purchase of their Vegan Maple Bacon Donut direct from Dynamo (photo: https://bit.ly/3xisf3y). Funny thing is I can always find it here whereas Dynamo usually runs out of it early in the day. Anyway, I'm always surprised how much their outdoor seating fills up with local residents and their laptops. Wandered into this local coffee spot after brunch in Noe Valley! This interior was clean and modern, and their was a lot of natural sunlight in the cafe and also had a cute outdoor patio. Noe Cafe is an adorable cafe amongst houses and other residences in Noe Valley. In addition to a full coffee offering, they also have pastries, egg sandwiches and empeñadas. I ordered a cappuccino and the bacon, cheddar and scallion scone and enjoyed both quite a bit. For an espresso drink, the wait can be a little long depending on how many people are in line ahead of you, and given the popularity of this cafe, I would assume that it'd be a bit of a wait. There's minimal seating inside so most of the seating is outside, some of which is in a covered park let. read more

The last time I was here, the coffee shop was in the small corner of the laundromat that was there prior. Upon arrival, it was very busy outside and the store was a bit busy too. It wasn't as bad and the wait was ok, much faster than the reviews on here. I can see why this place is always busy but it gives me such a hippie vibe (that's a good thing). I ordered an oat milk latte with an extra shot because well, finals are kicking my ass and insomnia is visiting me. It's definitely pricey for the size of the cup you get but I don't think it's an every day coffee shop because it's just more expensive than what a corporation chain like Starbucks (that has rewards) and Bernie's is like. I would return on the "special" treat day and would come earlier so I can at least snag a gluten free donut which I was a bit bummed that they didn't have more in stock. I'm rating this place a 5 star because the cashier was nice, the line was pretty fast and I liked my drink. Now for the pros and cons: Pros: Clean environment, inside is rather clean, the drinks are made right there and you can watch them in a way, the cashier was friendly and wasn't weird like my Philz visit in Colma. Neutral: If you want to sit outside, I think you might have to wait for a table as it seems that they do go by fast. I don't ever really just sit at a coffee shop because I rather be on my way to my next location. Cons: If you're going to park here, good luck. This coffee shop is located right on a slow street which can be a plus for walkers but it's not the best for parking. It's pricey for what you get. Gluten free seems to sell out fast. Just my own opinion, I do not like the store layout because the coffee bar takes up more space and the area where you pick up your drink is small. It just feels like the main cashier/bar space/espresso machine was designed first and then the aftermath was the narrow sides. It makes me wonder what this store is like when it's really busy inside because how would you get your drink with everyone standing there? I know with the pandemic, space is limited inside as is so it just seems like a poor planning layout. Also, just one more thing that is weird to me. The menu use to be on a blackboard and a paper where you can see it while waiting in line. I don't understand why the menu is right in front of the cashier when you're right there to order. I didn't see any menu any where else to have an idea of what I wanted. I will say for how they are more Italian with their drink sizes, they should do a simple cup display for what drink is what size so you can have a general idea of the differences or at least have some type of drawing that goes "ok a true macchiato is this size with this size cup". I do wish they would have some type of reward system so in case you do want to treat yourself, you can start earning for a small reward even if it's on a selected drink or a special. read more

Lovely neighborhood café with a sprawling outdoor area which is extremely popular on weekend mornings. It's on Sanchez, which has been closed to cars since the pandemic, which makes it a perfect place for dogs and children alike. (Definitely the dog's favorite place to hang out in the neighborhood on weekends when not running around and the dog park!) Noe cafe doesn't serve much food or breakfast fare, and are mostly known for their coffee, but they occasionally have empanadas and pop-up food options, like pizza. Of all the many places we have visited in our SF trip, this was one the best cafe's. From excellent coffee, latte's to the wide variety of pastries and biscuits ( my wife loved the buttermilk) and I craved the donuts. The food options from the caprese sandwiches ( we had them for mid morning snack and lunch) to the empanadas - we had the spinach for breakfast and as a lunch to the chicken as lunch and after snack. We were staying in the area and could walk there, but when we went to another location, we found took a ride to visit, That good! Absolutely delicious pastries, desserts and coffee. We ordered a bunch of yummy breakfast treats to eat at home and really enjoyed all of the items we bought. The lemon tart was sweet, tangy with a tender crust. The fresh raspberries on the top are a perfect refreshing bite which go along with the creamy filling of the tart. I went the next day and asked the owner who was working the register when the indoor space would reopen, as I'd love to come and work from there.
