Crystal at Things Remembered in the Stoneridge Mall was THE BEST!! I was shopping for a special bridal shower gift but I was really undecided about what I wanted to get! Things Remembered has a lot of really great gift options! I finally settled on whiskey decanter and glasses. Crystal helped me look at each set they had in stock! Then came time for picking out the text and the font to personalize the decanter set! It was so fun to work with Crystal on it! She was so knowledgeable! She was so patient! She was a big help! I came in looking for a bridal shower/wedding gift. While their items are beautiful, customer service was lacking. I was there for about 10 minutes browsing, and the girl behind the counter didn't say a single word to me the whole time. Oh, but she made sure to greet the UPS guy dropping off a package. As in most one star cases I would give zero stars if it was an option! Stopped in this morning while running errands for a wedding tomorrow. My mom was looking for a keepsake, nothing that needed personalization. The clerk greeted us and my Mom explained what she was looking for and that it was last minute and she wasn't looking for anything personalized. The clerk with a nasty snarky tone suggested a clock - for time management (since the wedding is tomorrow and she had this idea last minute). Nice underhanded jab, jerk! He was lucky I was with my Mom otherwise I would have called him out for being a unprofessional, nasty human. Nobody needs to support a business with passive aggressive clerks. read more

From start to finish, my order for a simple engraved ceramic white elephant was stressful. Placed an order on line to pick up in store and never received email confirmation within 4 hrs that my order was ready for pick up. Called the store who told me that they have no record of my order and if I show up to pick up the last elephant I would have to pay for it. Called customer service and on my 2nd attempt to straighten this out I spoke to a very nice representative named, Sierra. She referred my order to the IT team and advised my within 24 hrs I can pick up my order and assured me I would get an email. I got an email and went to the store. I'm here at the store at opening 11:00am. The lady looks like she just woke up. I followed her to the back of the store and told her I'm here to pick up an order, gave her my last name and she gave me my box with instructions to inspect everything at the bar. I walk back to the bar and carefully opened everything. It was all packaged beautifully and I had to carefully un-package everything :-( everything seemed ok I guess. I walked back to the lady in the back and asked her for a bag??? She handed me a bag. This whole experience is different from what I expected. Sierra from customer service assured me when my order was lost that this was a "high end" store. It didn't feel like it. If it was high end, the lady who looked like she just rolled out of bed with the mop on top of her head would have walked her fat butt to the bar with my ceramic elephant in hand, un-wrapped it for me to inspect, then wrapped it back up, and bagged it for me to leave with a very welcoming and polite, "Thank you and have a nice day or happy holidays" Instead I got what was equivalent to a an "F you" and an attitude that screamed , "this job interrupted my sleep" This store was high end my a** lol I'm hoping there is nothing wrong with this elephant piggy bank that I'm giving to my granddaughter. read more

I just had a key ring engraved. I picked it up minutes ago and it looks horrible. The initial is HUGE. And the initial is NOT centered. I asked if it would he sized up a little and was told yes, but the initial is almost as big as the key ring. It is so big and out of proportion. I am SO upset. This was SUPPPOSED to be a gift, but I am just going to throw it away. The staff offered to redo it but I am so upset I don't even want to deal with it and wait another 1-2 hours. I know I've been MIA with the reviews lately but I was moved by the exceptional customer service I received from Tanna. I actually just got home from picking up my engraved gifts I selected and purchased from earlier today. Done and done. Yay! It was one of those days where I had a laundry list of errands to run and I had 2 very important gifts to get: my sister's bridal shower gift and my best friend's 30th birthday. I had no idea what I wanted to get my favorite two people in the world when I stepped into the mall and came across this store. I'd figured engraved things are unique and personal so why not check it out. Enter Things Remembered. A friendly associate greeted me and helped me right away. Her name is Tanna. I told her what occasion the gift was for and we came across the perfect pieces (keeping the item a secret just in case my girls come across this review). I had a difficult time coming up with the proper messaging for the engravement and she was helpful with suggestions and was very patient. Even when it got really busy she would come back and check on me every few minutes to make sure I was set on my decisions. By the time I was ready to purchase my order, Tanna said it would take about 2 hours to finish engraving my items and I was in a rush to run a few more errands. I spent a whole hour in there thinking I could wrap things up quickly. Boy was I wrong! She mentioned she lived in the same city as me so I asked if it was fine to meet at a local coffee shop for the pick up which she agreed to. I met her after she closed the store around 10pm and was very appreciative that she saved me a trip back to the mall. I was disappointed that Starbucks just closed when we arrived so I wasn't able to grab her a cup of coffee like I offered. I walked in there only knowing I needed to get engraved wine glasses for my wedding. So many choices, fonts, colors, and animals (LOL) to choose from. Complete overload of information and what will look right. Got it nailed down within 30 minutes with a product I couldn't be happier to have. I left with the feeling I got everything I wanted and more. I won't see the final product until Saturday but I'm sure these five stars are staying. I'll add the girl who helped me later. I stopped by this location very short notice looking for a gift for my partner and Monica was very willing to help me. She was very patient but attentive at the same time. It was near closing and she did not rush me not once and she was willing to go above and beyond for me at checkout. I purchased a key chain set that I had engraved front and back. Ordered baby shower gifts. The engraved picture frame and elephant bank. The picture frame was not ready when I came to pick it up and they told me no problem we will have it ready. The bank was supposed to be engraved with pink lettering and it was not. They had to redo the bank and I paid extra for that service. I cancelled the order for the picture frame. I was extremely disappointed with my experience with Things remembered in Pleasanton. Stephanie (the manager) demonstrated abhorrent customer service. I spent 200$ on a bottle for a wedding gift for my best friend and I regret trusting them to engrave it. I wanted writing on the front and back. I gave very clear and simple instructions for what the engraving should say. Not only did they just put the writing on the back of the bottle and not the front, they accused me of saying this was okay on the phone but they never called me. Stephanie admitted they made a mistake but she didn't reimburse me for the engraving, and the most she can offer me was a minimal discount on my next service. At first I had a good feeling about this shop and I was interested in buying my mother in law a Christmas gift so I ended up buying it. When I walked in, I picked up the display thinking they only sold one of each and the lady named Stephanie yelled at me and told me to put it down and that I should have known there was more in the back. I ignored it, and put it down and waited 10 minutes to be helped (mind you there was no one else in the store and she was on her phone) I went up to the counter and eventually she came and said "So what is it you want to buy?" And I stated the gift, and she got it for me. I said I want to buy it now and I asked if there was any discounts or sales happening and she said Not for that item in store or online. So I said okay and bought it for full price. On my way home I looked online and it was actually 50% off of that item. So, The next day I came back to the mall and the store was open (not locked) and I said that I want to return the item I bought yesterday, and she rudely said "You need to wait until 4:30pm to return it if you aren't going to buy anything because I'm going to take my lunch now and I need to go to staples for my store." And I asked if there was any possibility that she can do it really fast, I had the receipt out and everything. She said no. Mind you I'm 6 months pregnant, had a crying 1 year old with me, and a disabled boyfriend who barely can walk. I also got there at 2:45 pm sharp, and had driven 45 mins in traffic and had a doctors appointment for my son. I told her I had an appointment and she said to come back later in the week if I really wanted to return the item so bad. So We waited, and saw her and the other rude employee named Crystal walking around the mall the entire time!!! Shopping at pink, Macy's, zumiez, getting smoothies, all of the above! They saw me waiting and could care less. When they finally came back to do my return they were very rude when I kindly asked what their names were. I don't even want to buy the Christmas gift online for half off anymore! They are extremely rude and unprofessional and should not be in charge of this location. I was about to leave to see my friend's new born and wanted to pick up a gift order placed a day ago. My order was not ready and when I saw it was engraved in slanting erroneous way. It was obvious that written text was not in straight line and was not in fashionable style. Well I was in a rush and said if I can have it redone or refunded ($44). Stephani shouted back like "I decide what to do here. you dont need to tell me bla bla bla ". After her frustration was voiced, she redid the order. I had to wait 30 more minutes and got late for my subsequent social meetings. They need to do their job right and check orders because people time is precious and not everyone is here walking around the mall whiling away time. They took another 30 minutes and @Alexandra Barnish - I agree, No one answers the phone even when they are not busy. They pick up once in 5 times. @Sanjay Nayak - Yes. They engraved my order in slanting erroneous way and had to be redone again. Lady here in the store was loud, rude and demeaning. I usually visit Santa Clara Stevens Creek Store and they were awesome and had great people skills but now that store is closed and this is the place we need to go for future orders. It sucks! Two years ago my wife and I ordered etched wine glasses for pick up at this Things Remembered location. The sheisty descriptions on their website misled us into paying ~$135 for TWO crummy wine glasses with meh etching--we thought we were paying for 8. When we brought up our displeasure over the misunderstanding with the staff at this location and asked if there was anything they could do for us, we were pretty much told to pound sand. I accept that it's up to the end consumer to assume the presence of sleazy misleading item descriptions in order to avoid getting fleeced, but the fact is there are MANY sellers on ETSY who WILL custom engrave mediocre wine glasses for ~$20 apiece. Look them up and give one of them your business. The only thing I'm going to remember every time I look at the wine glasses we purchased through Things Remembered is how badly we were ripped off. read more

Absolutely appalled by the service here. They took on more than they could handle this Christmas, and a lot of people are affected because of it. I went in last week to get something engraved, and I told them I needed it at the latest on Christmas Eve by 3pm, as my gift was needed for a dinner that night. Christmas Eve rolls around, and I call them at 10am to see where they are at with my item. They told me that it was the next item to be engraved. So I come in at 3pm, and it still hasn't been done. I told them that I'll wait in the store until 4pm and be late for my dinner, and the lady at the store told me they still won't be able to guarantee it will be done. I asked if I could get a discount because I'll have to give my present late, and she denied that as well. So I will be showing up to my dinner empty-handed tonight. read more

I had asked for a receipt of some sort and the guy working they're ( apparently it was his last day) said they were "out of printer inc and so I would be fine with my last name and ID).. ok fine. I tried calling to confirm my order but every time I called , the line was busy. I get there the day if pick up . and they couldn't find my order . Apperently then the lady working behind the counter rolls her eyes and tells me that the guy never actually placed my order !!!! WTF!!!!! So then she orders the pillow again . I come for pick up again ... it's still not ready . When I complain about my commute that I had to make TWICE the same day she said " get over it .. it's a fricking pillow". I come back when it's a 30min drive from my house . It's finally ready. I got helped by another lady. What does she do? Rolls her eyes and practically throws the pillow at me. I never received a greeting , a thank you , sorry , nothing from her !!! This is the worst customer service and won't be back . Save your time and money . The worst store ever. I just spent an entire hour to buy three things without any customization. There were 5 more people who came after us, got their items and ordered engraving and left. The manager/senior clerk was dismissive and not helpful at all to the girl helping us. She wasn't the fastest salesperson to begin with, but she was genuinely trying to find the product for us. The manager could not care less and I do not recommend this store. This was on a Saturday morning without holiday rush.... I would rather have my teeth pulled coz it would be faster than buy from a place where the staff is not really interested in selling. read more

The employees aren't very good at making the engravings look how you request them to look. For example, they messed up the centering and they also randomly capitalized things I did not ask to be capitalized. We went over the lettering and positioning 3 times. So I'm a little irritated. read more

I rarely write reviews but I hope everyone would not experience what I had gone through today. This store named things remembered but apparently their staffs are not very good at remembering stuff. Here is the situation. My girlfriend order an engraving at the store for a wedding gift, wrote down the specific words on the order one week ago. The day we came to pick up: At first, they did not remember where they had put my gf order. Then after they find it, we check the plate and the engraving was wrong. Up till now, I did not say anything. I was expecting at least a sorry coming from one of the staff. They just turn to us and said "wait a minute. we will get a different one". I said "how long does it take?" They reply "it should only take 5 minutes". Up to this point, I did not feel any sincere or feel sorry for messing up my gf order. So I said "we will come back to get in 10 minutes" then. So we left and went to shop in JC penny then came back. They got our order WRONG again. This is the second time. Still no apologies given. They even said "just wait right here". Is this an order to your customer? Overall, the experience is horrific consider how much they charge for the engraving. Updated: in the end, we did get our engraving. When I drove my gf home, she put the engraving plate on and it doesn't fit. I call the store and ask why is it. They said they will make a different one and send it to my gf house , they just ask for which model is it. They did not mention anything about bringing the old plate in. Just to make the story more clear, the plate was from a wedding globe which we bought from this exact same store. Since I want to make sure that they did make another mistake on the engraving, I drove 40 minutes to the store in hope that they make the right size and the right words. When I arrived, they said that I need to bring in the old engraving. Why didn't they just mention that on the phone when I talked to them? Also, from the subsequent conversation which I dont want to go into detail, the store clerks are implying that I gave them the smaller plate to engraving. Funny is the only thing we bought from that store is that one globe and we only have that one size. At this point, I was just outraged and left with disappointment. read more

Horrible quality products. I purchased a keychain, had 3 initials engraved, and it seemed nice. Within a month the face started to scratch off around and through the engraving, and the loop kept coming loose and eventually fell off the keyring even after tightening. Personalized products are only guaranteed 60 days, it was a huge waste of money. The recipient didn't want to tell me the gift was falling apart so I didn't get to return in time. I will never purchase anything from this company again. read more

I've ordered two things from this shop and both times something went wrong. First time I ordered a frame for Mother's Day, they got the spelling wrong. Unfortunately my luck, there were not any of those frame left, so I had to settle for something else. I didn't care much at the time cause the gift was still nice. The second time I got a frame and was schedule to pick up next day. I showed up and my order was not even completed. Turns out the guy that took my order never processed it nor relayed the message to someone else to process. To my luck in comes Kevin who processed my order right away! Kevin was working alone, with multiple people in line, phones ringing off the hook, and multiple pending orders left behind for him. I felt really bad because you could he looked overworked, tired, and exhausted. The store def needed help and it was unfortunate it wasn't provided to him (idk what reason). However, he handled those calls like a champ, did the best he could handling the lines and processing orders that were supposed to be done already. I know he was working a double shift and hopefully he didn't have to stay too late. I give Kevin's professionalism 5 stars but I only I only give the store 3. Knocking two stars for both the mess-ups that happened, and the lack of assistance needed for the store that day. read more

Outstanding from start to finish. From the first call to Sabreena fo the excellent engraving by Tanna to the pickup of item with Laura this was an excellent experience. It was an engraving job which several other places had told me could not be done. Sabreena fold me on phone that she thought they may be able to do it and to bring the item in. I did and the entire transaction went smoothly and perfectly. Everyone was upbeat and happy and very pleasant and I have a wonderfully engraved item. Whereas other places had been negative on my request, all 3 ladies here are very positive, pleasant to deal with, and competent. Highest recommendation. read more

Customer Service is not their strong point. I had purchased a men's bracelet for my Godson. I had it engraved and it cost me a small fortune but I was happy with it. My problem was, it didn't fit him. It was 2 links too small. I emailed customer service and asked what can be done. Response was a little delayed but at least I got one, however there was nothing they could do. I tried asking if I bought another bracelet, could they add links to the one I bought - they said NO. I asked if I could get a refund (minus the engraving costs) - they said NO. Their suggestion was take it to a jeweler and see what they had to say. So now I have a bracelet that is useless that cost me $100. And because I have their rewards.......I now have $80.00 to spend in their store - fat chance of that happening. I guess my advice to any customers - don't engrave your items until you know that the receiptant is going to like it or to make sure it fits. read more
