Negroni
Martina C.

I was looking for a bar to have a Negroni in for Negroni week, so I went to the website for Negroni Week and searched for bars near me and Theif happened to be less than a mile, so we could walk! It also showed as a Premium sponsor for Negroni week, so I definitely wanted to go. Now I wanted to look at their cocktail menu and generally get a sense of the bar and it's vibe, so I went to the website. I fell in love when it loaded and it said "let's steal back some time." LOVE. That said everything about the vibe of the bar that I needed to know! We were ending a long day of travel from Portland Oregon to NYC and dropped in for one drink because we still had several hours to go as we had to drive to Connecticut. Thief was packed and had signage that stated "vaccination card required" so bonus, we got to feel safe AND enjoy a drink. We were actually checked twice which made me feel better, not annoyed, that the establishment wanted the customers to be safe. We got lucky and got a seat at the bar immediately. And the service was just as fast. I got a delicious Negroni and my husband got a cocktail. We both enjoyed our drinks and the bar, they played great music AND had a totally different music set up in the bathroom, which was pretty cool, and also had great music playing. Anyway, if I lived in Brooklyn, I would have definitely made this my neighborhood bar. Loved it!

Friesling - A creamy frozen cocktail with a lime wedge and a straw is positioned on a bar counter. The drink is served in a tall, textured glass with a wide, rounded top. The background features a bar setting with bottles on illuminated shelves, and patrons seated at the bar, creating a lively atmosphere.

New 80s-decor leaning bar near mccarren offering drinks and snacks. My partner and I sat at the bar and ordered: - a drink made with carrot juice and tequila, - another drink with peach and tequila, -the infamous friesling - vegan corn dogs The friesling makes for an awesome summer drink, and actually tasted better than I thought it would. The vegan corn dogs were also awesome. I tried ordering a pretzel but they were out. The cocktails are on the pricier side ~$15+ per cocktail, so if you're looking for more bang for your buck, stick with the friesling and beers.

Outdoor Area - An outdoor seating area features a metal roof with colorful string lights hanging along the edges. There are plants in planters, and a person is seated at a table inside, visible through glass panels. The area is adjacent to a sidewalk with a street sign and a building in the background, indicating an urban setting during dusk or early evening.

Came here to experience the Miracle popup at Thief. From the decor to the drinks, you would absolutely get into the spirit! I do recommend that you get there early because it could be a wait and the outside seating isn't very warm. My friend and I were directed that we can sit outside but waited about 15 minutes and didn't get someone to offer water. There was a table besides us that were sitting before us and didn't get their drink orders as well. . . We ended up sitting inside where it was much warmer. It was very busy, but the Christmas decor and the smiles from everyone else can enhance a mood. I had the Elfing Around and Tye had a Holdiay Spiked Chai. The drinks are a bit pricey,($18-20 per drink) but are good/strong. They also have small bites for you to nibble on! I had a bit more of an appetite, so we opted to go get food after. I would highly recommend this as a cute spot after a date or to catch up with friends.

My partner and I popped in here while waiting for our reservation at Lilia next door, since we had about a half hour to kill and they recommended we try Thief. Overall, we really liked the decor and the service was friendly. We are both partaking in dry January, so our options are generally limited at bars. When we first got there I asked if there were any non alcoholic beers in the menu and the answer was no (I don't think it was the main bartender and the person just didn't know, so they said no). Luckily I asked again when approached by the other bartender and he said they have an athletic brewing option (so went with that). Partner liked their mocktail as well. Their food menu looked pretty great as well and would probably try some next time we find ourselves at Thief - hopefully post Dry January ha!

So good! - The image shows a meal served on checkered paper, including a grilled cheese sandwich with melted cheese and toasted bread, accompanied by ridged potato chips. A cherry cocktail with a straw and cherries on top is also present, along with several bottles of water and a lit candle in a small holder. The setting appears to be a restaurant or bar table with a dark background.

Loved everything about this place. Truly enjoyed the Friesling which is a frozen riesling wine. Food wise we ordered the black truffle grilled cheese and the smoked ham gruyere. Staff was cool. Loved the decor. Has a dark aesthetic that works. You won't be disappointed.

The turkey melt! Delicious!!!!

Sooo this place was really cute! Nice vibe, good music! Friendly staff. We literally came just to try the sandwiches. The turkey melt was so good! I'd go back for that for sure! I liked the truffle melt but not enough to get it again and the chicken parm sliders should be bigger (I'd say a quarter of the size of the bun) They get lost on the already small slider buns, which were too sweet for my liking, and wayyy too much cheese. Really woulda loved more chicken. But anyways tasted more like mozzarella sticks once dipped rather then a chicken parm slider. What chicken?!! Lol anyways I really liked the ambience and turkey melt so I'll go back.

The food, the vibes, and the live music on Sunday's make this place one of my favorites in Williamsburg. The service is incredible and Frankie, Sat Charn, and Kenny are the absolute best and make the most delicious cocktails. The food menu is also exactly want you want in a bar setting.

Menu - A menu from Thief in Brooklyn, NY, displays various food and drink items, with some sections highlighted in pink. The menu includes categories such as snacks, savory dishes, and sweets, with items like vegan mini pretzels, chicken parm sliders, and ice cream. The menu is printed on white paper with black text and pink highlights, clipped at the top for display.

I came here in the afternoon with a party of 4. We came for one drink & then the live music kept us for 4 more. Great atmosphere Great service Great drinks I will definitely be coming back here and look forward to trying the food.

The Supersonic and Friesling - The image shows two cocktails on a wooden bar counter inside a bar with graffiti-style wall art and warm ambient lighting. The green cocktail is in a tall glass with ice and a garnish, while the white cocktail is in a textured, ribbed glass with a straw and fruit garnish. The background features bar staff and patrons, with a ceiling decorated with checkered patterns and hanging lights.

I wish I liked Thief more than I did. For a cocktail menu that lists cocktails as $15, I expected a little more thought behind the drinks. I ordered the Supersonic and my friend ordered the Friesling, their version of a Frosé. The drink felt weak and the cucumber ice cube added too much grit and pulp to the drink, making it increasingly unpleasant to drink as it melted. It would've been better as a cucumber juice ice cube. No complaints from my friend about their drink, however, which looked cute, topped with a few grapes. The bartender also checked in on us no less than 5 times during our stay, which is thoughtful the first few times, but got weird, as we both were clearly not finished with either of our drinks. I was beginning to feel rushed and unwelcomed toward the end of my stay. We ordered a second round--I got a beer on draft (which was only 12oz! and half of it was head!) and they got the Yellowhammer, delicious, but had simple ingredients that I thought was absurd to charge $15 for. I hope to try Thief again as they perhaps revise or expand their menu.

Downstairs, it's a lot tighter, with a DJ, dance floor, lounge seating area, and a much more packed and busy atmosphere on the weekends. I like ping ponging between both vibes when I'm with friends. Admittedly I've found the music both times to be too experimental for me. Confessing that makes me feel like an old person shaking my fist or at least shaking my head, misunderstanding what makes the youth tick. But I had no trouble twirling around the dance floor to this weird experimental music after throwing back a few tequila sodas upstairs. A few times while here my friends have split up into the group that wants to go downstairs to dance and the group that wants to stay upstairs and chill. It's relatively easy to navigate between both vibes, which I enjoy about this spot very much.

When we saw "Water Tower" on the elevator we decided to press it. SO GLAD WE DID. We landed at the Water Tower and walked into a fairly empty space decorated with art all the way to the ceiling, filled with natural light coming in and the views of the skyline were out of this world. We had to try their drinks of course to enjoy with the incredible view. Though the drinks are $21 and served in a plastic cup that evening, I was NOT expecting my drink to be this insanely delicious. I ordered the inferno Paloma which they infuse themselves with- and it was true perfection. By the way, each bar has their own menu which is pretty awesome and makes it even more fun. Also, Axel is the most incredible bartender and we absolutely loved his creations. Later that night we ordered a custom mandarin margarita, with a spicy twist, and WOW. He's truly talented and absolutely made us some awesome drinks that we can't stop talking about. Sunset with a view and a spicy mezcal drink? Yes and YES. We had this place all to ourselves and can't wait to be back. Friday nights they have DJ nights and you can also book the Water Tower for your own private events which is pretty cool!

For mains, we tried the biang biang Rasta noodles with salmon (6/10) and the sofrino roasted chicken (5/10). Both were a bit underwhelming. I've heard their drinks are great but we didn't try any. It is too bad Yelp doesn't allow half stars as I would honestly put this one at a 3.5 and am rounding up. While the quality of the elevated seafood bites is immaculate, they are just that: a bite or two of food, for an elevated price considering the amount of food you get. After spending $76 a person, we were still hungry, whereas that amount would have been enough to feed two average women at another good restaurant. But if you go with an expense account or trust fund baby, definitely get the scallops and the yellowtail pastrami because those two items will blow your mind. Our waitress pointed these two out to us and we're grateful for her guidance because it was spot on. Paying for bread at a Solomonov joint is odd. No dessert menu is odder. Wheelchair access details: The bar is on a terrace. The accessible entrance is through the Hoxton hotel. A staff member will take you through the k'far kitchen and up via a service elevator.
