I have to say, I've been seeing Dr Nguyen for about 5yrs. What I like is that he's very thorough, very informative and is honest. I had my eyes examined back in April and he recommended progressive lenses but had mentioned it my previous eye exam. I thought I could go without it a few yrs back. This eye exam we discussed about it and gave me my options. When I picked up my glasses, I was nervous about the change into progressive. I instantly loved it, wish I had done it on my last exam, I don't have to keep taking my glasses on and off. Thank you! The ladies at the front desk very sweet, helped me pick a new pair of frames. Very professional, I work in the medical field I know all about professionalism, I recommend this place, they will help you and give you a complete breakdown of what your insurance covers. Remember insurance doesn't cover everything, unfortunately. Go within your budget you can get a great pair, of course I want the name brand and excellent frame option as well. Made my appointment and was actually seen at my appointment time! No crazy wait time so I was happy already! Staff got all my stuff done quick (air pressure test n etc.) the Dr seen me quick, all were friendly, professional, and so helpful. My contacts brand discontinued my Rx, so I was given a few trials for alternatives and since my visit went so well I then went back for my 2 kids who got glasses. One pair was ready within 1 week. the higher end pair took a bit longer but we're not in a hurry so not a problem to wait another week. I recommend this spot. read more

Just came back for my annual check up, which they called and reminded me. I took my eye exam and they gave me my prescription. No pressure to buy glasses from them, but I did. They have a nice variety of top brand eyewear. I got a pair of Ray Bans. They said my glasses would be ready in approximately three weeks and I ended getting them back in 1 1/2 weeks. They fitted my glasses for me and cleaned and tightened my old pair for free. They always give out free cleaning cloths. The place is clean and nicely air conditioned. The doctor and his staff are very nice. The only thing to be aware of is you have to wear a mask while inside. That's about the only annoying thing, but other than that the place is great! No greeting when we walked in, the technician was just so frantic that we weren't wearing masks that she asked us to step outside so they could bring us some..... OKAY! The mask mandate has been lifted for a while now yet They wanted me and my two children to wait outside in 95 degree weather? I complied only because my daughter wanted to try the place out, but we waited outside a bit too long, they had no urgency on bringing the masks, two kids just standing in the heat, no greeting when I came in, it was too many red flags so I ended up just telling them we will go elsewhere.. really really off putting. read more

Couple weeks ago i just pick up another glasses. This place is great actually, i got my glasses twice already at this place, so are my husband. We only come to this location since its close to my house. The only thing i dont like is they never call us to let us know if our glasses is ready to be pick up. All that 4 times ordered glasses, never once get a call to let us know its ready. We just been waiting. And i finally call them asking about it. And they said yeah its ready. Lol So you guys make sure to call them and check if your glasses is ready to be pick up. Because they wont call you. Other than that they are great! read more

This was my first time going to an optometry in California, and I was very pleased with my experience. The staff made the whole process effortless, and made me feel safe during the Covid situation. Dr. Nguyen knew what my prescription was within 5 minutes of him examining my sight. He is also very friendly and easy to talk to. When I needed help picking out frames, the staff helped me select a few to try on--I love wearing my glasses now. Under the COVID-19, we were very careful going to an optometrist, but Dr. Lac and her team made our concern go away easily. Their office is very clean, and they sanitized everything to make us feel extra safe. My coworker recently had lost his glasses, and had no backup eyewear. His astigmatism is quite severe (both eyes in the neg 7 for Cylinder) so getting a replacement pair of glasses quickly was very difficult as most stores need 10-14 days to custom order his lens. Even his original optometrist was not willing to issue a temporary prescription with less power to match other store's in-stock lens (ex. negative 3 in Cylinder) so he can get his temporary pair of glasses to get by for a few days. Without a legal prescription, no store is willing to cut the lens for us. Needless to say, he was very reluctant to come to work, needing to travel from Hesperia to Chino, but he REALLY needs to work to support this family financially. Luckily, our company is very close to The Vision Shop Optometry and I came into the store to explain his situation. All the staff and Dr. Lac are extremely friendly, honest, professional, and most importantly, sympathetic to my coworker's dilemma. They got busy quickly, called many vendors to locate and source the lens he needed and were able to have his new pair of glasses ready in 2 days! Wow, I am so impressed because 1) Dr Lac and her team sincerely wanted to help and 2) they didn't upsell and take advantage of the customer's situation when one is desperate in need of glasses to get on with his life. I was a new patient and came for my annual contact lense exam. Making my appointment was easy and the staff member who answered the phone was very friendly. I received a reminder text with the time of my appointment, which was great. I was examined by Dr. Nguyen and he by far has been the most thorough, communicative and friendly optometrist I've seen in my 10+ years of having to wear glasses. He wasn't rushing and explained every detail. I have very bad vision but he didn't make me feel how some optometrist have regarding the strength of my prescription. When the exam was done and I had to pay my copay, the office staff wasn't pushy about me buying glasses or contacts, another plus! They also accept Apple Pay! I have been seeing eye doctors since I was in 2nd grade and this is by far one of thee very best Optometrists I have ever been to! Dr. Nguyen is so nice, patient, and knowledgeable! He takes his time and answered any questions I had! The front office staff is really helpful as well! They have new patients sign in on white boards clipped to clip boards with pre printed questions, to save paper which I think is pretty cool! The decor in the office is really cute and clean, which I count as a plus as well! In short, if you're looking for an eye doctor I highly recommend Dr. Nguyen at the Vision Shop!
