My husband and I have been coming to Dr Lu for quite some time. He is very thorough. Ive never had a problem with my glasses or prescriptions. read more

My family has been going to Dr Lu for a few years now. Since the first visit Dr Lu has been patient and very thorough with his examinations. He is also very kind. My son has an eye infection and I wasn't present but he got on the phone right away to explain his findings. Given that I am in the medical field I know how hard it is to find professionals with strong ethics. Glad my families eye health is in good hands. read more

Best eye doctor I've ever had. Staff is always very friendly and there is never a long wait to be seen for your appointment. Dr. Lu is very knowledgeable and approachable. Would highly recommend him. read more

I always dread having to get glasses or contacts, however, this place made it easy, affordable and fast. They were very accommodating to my schedule and never had me wait to be seen. The tests for a new prescription was quick. The doctor was very honest and straightforward. He was genuine with his concerns and gave me good advice. I'm too stubborn to actually take a doctor's advice, so it's nothing personal that my eyes are always itching and feel like they're on fire. I would definitely recommend Dr. Lu. Even his staff was very friendly and thorough with the options available. Try this place out. read more

Very thorough, nice, respectful and truly concerned about the health of your eyes. Dr. Lu knows his stuff. His employees are really nice and professional. Has a good Selection of eyeglasses and sunglasses. read more

I have been going to see Dr. Lu for 15+ years now and I can not say enough great things about him and his staff. Everyone is very professional and friendly. You never have to wait long to be seen for your appointment. If you have questions he takes his time to answer them and he's very thorough with his exams, never rushing you out the door. They dont schedule too many people at once so he has time to focus on his patient without making the next patient have to wait. I no longer live close to Dr. Lu's office but I am more than willing to make the drive each year because he is hands down the best optometrist I have ever gone to. I look foward to seeing him each and every year and hope he keeps his office open a very long time. read more

I highly recommend Dr. Lu. I was able to get a same day appointment for my daughter. Dr and staff are very friendly. Dr explain things along the way. read more

I have been going to Dr. Lu for a very long time and am never disappointed. I am always able to get an appointment when I need one and Dr. Lu is very thorough. His staff is very competent and I can always find a great pair of frames. read more

Dr. Lu has been my optometrist for more than 25 years now (from when he had a location inside the Sears store at the Montclair Plaza). It's great to have a doctor that you can always trust and treats you like family every time you see him. Dr. Lu takes his time during your check-up and makes sure he covers everything with you. He always lets me know if he notices something, and we have a discussion on how to be proactive in preventing the situation from getting worse. His staff is super friendly, polite and helpful as well. Once you meet Dr. Lu and his staff, you will know what I mean. read more

I had a very nice experience at Dr. Lu's office today and am happy to make him my new optometrist. When I first walked in, I noticed the office was very clean, well decorated, and organized. I was promptly greeted by a helpful staff member. She verified my insurance and informed me of my coverage, which I appreciate knowing right off the bat. After I had filled out the paperwork and got the preliminary eye tests (the eye blower, the blurry house, etc) out of the way, I got to meet Dr. Lu. He is a very nice man who makes you feel comfortable, even when he's thisclose to your face staring into your eyes. I felt that he was knowledgeable and kind. He answered all my questions and I felt I could speak openly with him. When I asked about laser eye surgery (which I must admit, I kinda really do want), he explained why he would advise against it for me personally given my medical history, etc, which I appreciate. And you know what? He's right. I appreciate that he didn't push a pricy or possibly harmful procedure when he got the chance just because I wanted it. He also didn't push "fancy" features for my glasses that I didn't need. I really feel like I can trust him, and that's what I want in a doctor, so I'm really happy with him. After my eye exam, the same person who helped me earlier helped me with my choice of glasses. She was also helpful without being pushy, and was clear with what my insurance would and would not cover. Overall, I left the office feeling very happy with my experience and I will definitely be referring my family and friends to Dr. Lu. read more

Just had an eye exam on Monday and was very impressed with Dr. Lu and his new office. I found this place while going to Firestone tires across the street from the Montclair Plaza Mall. It's been awhile since my last eye exam but I don't remember ever having such a thorough test. Dr. Lu was great and his staff were very friendly. The office looked very modern with a large selection of frames. I ordered a pair of Raybans and I can't wait to get them back next week. I will definitely be returning to Dr. Lu in the future and will be telling my friends about this place.. read more

Montclair Family Optometry - Optometrists Near Me - Montclair, California

this will be my permanent eye doctor! I love this guy! i remember him when he was in the sears eye dept. and I'm glad he got his own little office! :) his staff is so friendly and he's twice as nice!! answers all my questions and doesn't rush you. I had a piece of plastic in my eye from working in a warehouse. the piece was so small I never noticed it. all I felt was some itchiness. he spotted it and took it out, no pain! (even though I freaked out!) he even told me to come back for a check up the next week to see if everything was ok! no cost! highly recommend this place! :) read more

This is a really nice office and the staff is great. Really loved it. Super nice doctor. Would highly recommend. read more

I love Dr. Lu!! He is professional, caring and knowledgeable! He truly cares for his clients and doesn't mind taking the time to explain your eye condition and solutions. My vision is extremely important to me, and I trust Dr. Lu to help me keep a healthy vision. His staff is busy, but they are very nice and help you with any questions and selection of eye glasses. Dr Lu has been my doctor for many years. I now live in Northern California but I will fly down to So.Cal to see him. read more

So glad Dr. Lu has his own office now! Yay! New office looks clean and modern. And location is so easy to find. Hated it when he was at Sears! Been going to him for years to get my contacts. Would never trust my eyes to anyone but Dr. Lu. Took my aunt there last year and Dr. Lu found that she has glaucoma. Referred her to specialist. He caught her condition while her other optometrist totally missed it! Selections on glasses are huge, too bad I wear contacts. :-) read more

I found this place online when I was searching for a near by office that will take my IEHP insurance. They gave me an appointment right away. The front desk lady was very friendly and polite. The optometrist was also very friendly and knowledgeable. Since I have gestational diabetes, I notice a change in the eyesight that concerned me, but he answered all my questions and put me at ease. My eyesight hasn't changed significantly just very minor due to my gestational diabetes. I wanted to continue using my favorite eyeglasses and for them just to change the lence, but he didn't want to and though he can convince me easily to get new frames and get them anti glare out of my pocket. Well, if my insurance dont pay it, then I dont want it period. There is no point in getting glasses now thst I'm pregnant when once I give birth my vision will change again and it's another expense since my insurance will only pay once a year. read more

Dr. Lu and team are just fantastic. I was immediately impressed with the office itself as it's modern, super clean and stocked with a large variety of frames to choose from. More importantly, everyone there was very friendly and nothing but helpful. They use a number of newer machines for the exam and made sure I was comfortable every step of the way. After picking up my glasses, which were done in 5 days (the only downside compared to places like Lens Crafters that do same-day), I had to go back a few times for adjustments (due to my crooked face lol). I started feeling like a nuisance but they made it clear that they were there to help, not rush me out the door. They assured me I could come in much as I needed to get my glasses feeling right. read more

I've gone to Dr. Lu 3 times. He is a very kind and knowledgeable eye doctor. I left my previous eye doctor, because when it was time to choose my frames. His staff pressured and hurried me. Not at Dr. Lu's the girls there let me take all the time I need. Love that! His staff is courteous and professional. My last pair of glasses got very scratched, and Dr. Lu was able to get them fixed for me! He is the best! read more

Dr. Lu was very thorough with my eye exam. Liked that I didn't feel rushed, answered all my questions and was professional. The office is really nice and clean with a wide selection of frames (and sunglasses!). It's in a good location where I can pick up dinner or run an errand after my eye exam. read more

Dr. Lu has been my eye guy for several years now. He is thorough and knowledgeable. With astigmatism in both eyes, transitional bifocals (aging stinks) and the occasional need for contacts, Dr. Lu covers everything I need, often suggesting new products or brands, which is very helpful. read more

I just switched eye doctors and Dr. Lu is by far the best doctor I have ever come cross. He is clear and concise when explaining treatment plans, which is something I have a hard time understanding. After two check ups, I immediately noticed positive results in my vision. I was also able to get contacts, glasses, and sunglasses at very good prices which made my wallet very happy. The environment is super friendly, clean, and professional. I can't wait to bring my grandparents here for their checkups! read more

Waste of my time & money = 1/2 day of work! B4 u drive 45 miles in 2 hours of traffic to this optometrist make sure they verify the correct insurance provider. They had a week to verify my insurance & get back to me to let me know my insurance didn't qualify. Instead they wait until I get there to tell me. All because "a receptionist" took my insurance id number incorrectly by one digit. Their stupid mistake was at my expense, stress & raise in blood pressure!! read more

I haven't had an eye exam in three years, and was surprised to hear Dr. Lu had gotten a brand new office, much more convenient and impressive than the Sears location! I walked in and was very well taken care of :) read more

I have been going to Dr Lu since the early 2000's and lost contact with him for a couple of years when I changed jobs. After getting mediocre service from other providers that I use to go to out of convenience because of the proximity to work I decided to go come back to Dr. Lu only to find out he moved. Thanks to Google I found him and have been back to him for 3 years now. Dr. Lu and his staff are friendly, thorough and professional. His staff is quiet helpful at helping with the selection of eye wear without being pushy or trying to oversell you things you don't want or need. You can also conveniently order your contacts from Dr. Lu's office for the same price as 800contacts which saves me the hassle of going online and having to enter all of the information and then have to wait for them to contact the office before they process your order. read more

Dr. Kevin Lu is the best in the area! Great doctor and good selection of eyeglasses; from basic to name brands. Not your typical doctor who rush thru and doesn't explain to you your problem. He takes his time and explain what you need. Friendly, honest, and a great experience. read more

First time I went in for exam and new glasses I was pleased with the receptionist and the Doctor, don't get me wrong he's great at what he does. When I picked up my glasses I did notice a few spots on the glass I thought maybe they just needed to be cleaned. After realizing they weren't clearing up I went back ONE week later ! This time different receptionist, and I received the worst treatment ever ! She insinuated it was my fault and tried telling me they NEVER dispense glasses in non perfect condition, I then confronted her how I had already viewed a customer on yelp relating to the same experience as mine and all she did was bash the prior customer as well!! She did though mention they had reimbursed the customer, not realizing she admitted to that fault ! So where was that NEVER now ?! I had highly recommended this place to my parents and siblings, But after receiving that treatment and being humiliated in front of the other customers that were there, I would never recommend anyone here! No one deserves that type of treatment. read more
