Some afternoons are just meant to be savored and this was one of them. We brought our dog and were able to sit on the patio, which overlooked a beautiful green lawn. It was the kind of setting that makes you slow down and actually be present. Dog friendly, gorgeous views, a glass of rosé in hand... what more do you really need. The staff was friendly and unhurried... you never feel rushed here, which is exactly the right energy for a winery setting. We ordered the beyond burger, charcuterie board, truffle fries, and a vegetable bolognese with added chicken. Everything was enjoyable but the truffle fries were genuinely addictive. If you are heading to Temecula wine country and want a beautiful spot to spend a few hours with good food, a lovely glass of wine, and yes... your dog... this is it. A truly lovely afternoon. On a Valentines weekend getaway with my beloved, we booked a couple of days at the south coast winery, resort, and spa, and a nice evening dinner on a Monday at the vineyard restaurant. I couldn't have been more pleased with the elegance and class of the restaurant, the staff, and the winery and resort in general. The ambience was incredible, sophisticated and relaxing. Not too formal either, no dress code or anything, but definitely a step above. We were seated at a nice table, we were treated courteously and with genuine care by the hostess and the wait staff. Our food was prepared, wonderfully, with beautiful presentation, and done to perfection. My lady had the ceviche which she enjoyed thoroughly, and I had the roasted chicken platter, which was also incredibly tasty and beautifully presented. Accompanied by a couple of glasses of our favorite South Coast, wines, and a bread service, we were in heaven. Pro tip: definitely make a reservation well in advance as this can be a busy location. read more

It is an outside area, two tasting rooms, a bar then you walk to the restaurant. While attending the sip and shop ladies day I decided to grab lunch in their beautiful restaurant. What drew my attention was the open beams. Unbeknownst to me, the owner is another buckeye from Ohio. Before coming down, I looked up information on the winery and discovered The Vineyard Rose Restaurant has been honored with the prestigious 2025 Wine Spectator Award of Excellence for the third consecutive year, so after shopping in the quaint gift shop and meandering through the banquet room where vendors were set up, I made myself comfortable at one of the tables. We had an average lunch but the hostess staff was incredibly rude, so rude I'll never be back or recommend. I made a reservation prior to my arrival and requested outdoor seating. I confirmed outdoor seating upon arrival, we waited 15 minutes to be sat outside at a table next to the doors. I requested a table further away on balcony (there were 3 open) and was told we couldn't sit there because they were reserved. I said yes, I made a reservation prior to asking to be sat there and confirmed seating at check in. She then back tracked and said well that waiter was just sat a large table of 4ppl (we were a party of 5), I said I'm happy to wait and she said okay well you have to go back and wait in the entrance area, we couldn't wait the 15 mins at the table. It was obscene to go and spend $250 on lunch for my family and have a hostess with attitude and lying about tables and seating. Our server was kind, and helped me choose a wine with lunch. I then went to the wine shop to purchase the Carter Cabernet Sauvignon I was served to find out it wasn't even a wine from this winery and I needed to go down the road to the Carter Vineyard or purchase it back at the restaurant for a higher price. I will be skipping next visit and just going to the Carter Vineyard and restaurants. read more

Came here for dinner while visiting from out of town. Location is beautiful. It has high ceilings and looks like a cabin inside. I had the Braised Short rib on a bed of mashed potatoes. While the tomato paste on top didn't look as appealing, it did provide flavor to the entire meal. The plate needed more mashed potatoes. My wife had the seafood linguini with truffle Alfredo. The server, Mike did a good job and was very knowledgeable about the menu and the wine list. Very helpful. The food came out in a timely manner, not too soon, and at the right temp. The veggie based pasta was very good. It had a red meat sauce feel but it was veggie based. The pasta was cooked perfect. The braised short rib was tender, great temp. Just really well done. Service, views, food were all on point We decided to get dinner before the concert held outside. The Batida de coco drink was really good! Yummy creamy coconut lime cocktail. We started off with the ceviche, Caesar salad, and hummus. The citrus soy miso vinaigrette on the ceviche was so good! You could pour that on anything and it would be good. The ceviche was fresh and the Caesar salad nice and crisp. The hummus was also really good with that addition of the chili oil. For dinner we all shared the gnocchi, braised short ribs, herb roasted chicken breast and pork chop. Everything was flavorful and tasted fresh. The meats were all very tender/fall off the bone and the best entree was the braised short rib. We decided to give this place a try for breakfast/lunch since we will be going to the wineries for the day.(Located inside South Coast Winery) We showed up around 930am and got sat right away. Our server Michael was great, friendly and patient. Our food came out with in about 15 mins, we ordered the chicken sandwich with fries and chilaquiles rojos. Food was good. So very disappointed. Four of us went to the rose restaurant that is we thought it was going to be in the restauran where it was last year and it was so very good for the buffet. But, this year, not impressed at all. They put us in the basement which they called the barrel room where the food was and then the seating was on the grass outside in the 85° weather. Just had my Thanksgiving/ Birthday dinner at the Vineyard Rose Restaurant. What a total disappointment. Buffet style was for Thanksgiving. $85 pp. The food was minimal. Process Turkey, mashed potatoes weren't fully cooked. All the food was cold or lukewarm. Mentioned it to the manager, he said let me go see what I can do.... and walked away. Took my mother here for a lunch date this last Monday. I explained that this was one of the few winery restaurants I found to be open that day as most are only open Fri-Sun. And it most likely had something to do with the fact that this is a resort as well with guests staying throughout the week. Still we looked forward to having a quieter than normal experience. Once inside- we looked around until someone came to greet us. We noticed there was an outdoor patio over looking their lower terrace which looks as its meant to be able to hold special events. Off in the distance I was pleased to see a portion of their grape vineyards though I found myself thinking it would've been nice if the locations of the two had been switched. The vineyards would've made for a nicer direct view from the patio. While I had originally booked my reservation for outdoor seating- once there- & saw that there was no real view from the tables aside from other occupied tables. We opted for indoor seating instead. It was indeed definitely quiet as we mostly had the restaurant to ourselves- at least the indoor part almost up until the time we left. Our server Nathan was pleasant and attentive throughout our time there. For drinks- since I am partial to the sweet kind, he recommended their mango raspberry mimosa. My mother and I enjoyed them and I will say they tasted stronger than the usual and not overly sweet- but we didn't mind that. To start we ordered the Ceviche Tataki and I believe my mother was more of a fan than I was. If you like your ceviche with a bit of sweet you will enjoy this- however I grew up on the savory /sour type of ceviche and have always liked sweet- only in my desserts. For our meals my mother chose the Seabass Fish Tacos and I chose the wild mushrooms flatbread. I'll be honest in saying I made my choice in an attempt to try to replicate my flavorful experience of the Leoness Cellars flatbread of the same name and I was just as honest with Nathan when I ordered it. He recommended I add the prosciutto to add to the flavor. This plate too however was nothing like the flavorful flatbread at Leoness and I found myself thinking- there is something sweet in this too. Balsamic vinegar? I caught myself wishing I had taken a closer look at the ingredients or simply gone with the linguine as I had originally planned. That would've for sure not had any sweet to it- I hoped at least. My mother says she enjoyed her seabass tacos and the only thing she mentioned was wondering why they used the type of tortillas they used. The different textured maiz ones she sometimes sees at restaurants. Said it gave her a different taste to the tacos. I just took it as she wished they were the regular or even handmade ones. She also mentioned being surprised by the presence of red caviar on top- I don't think it was an unpleasant surprise but I will venture to say they were definitely not your regular run of the mill fish tacos. I did try a bite but can't seem to recall any particular flavors of note. I remember telling her to add some of the salsa that came with it- maybe that would add to the overall flavor. Overall, it was a pleasant experience but don't really have anything foodwise that I tasted that would make this a restaurant I want to return to. I did see that they were voted the best winery restaurant in '20-'21 - I truly hope they find their way back to serving memorable dishes that won them those accolades. I may just return to try different dishes on the menu- if only just to see if having chosen a savory plate would have made a difference. read more

I'm not sure why this has a 3.3 star but food and service were solid. We had a reservation has 06:30 PM, but wasn't overly crowded. Interior has high ceilings with cozy cabin vibe. Our server was very professional, he even asked us if we wanted our dishes to be delivered as we finished each course or all together. For drinks we got cocktails (root beer old fashion and saturn) and wine, cocktails were pretty strong and decent wine pour. Each table also got complimentary bread service, could have been served warm but was fluffy. Octopus-best dish of the night, plump and not fishy at all, came with a side of creamy sauce and radishes. (9/10) Salmon-crispy crust with wild mushroom congee, had a bit of asian flair so unique (8/10). Seafood linguine-tried a bit of BFs dish, very generous with seafood but the cream sauce was bit too creamy for me (7/10) Tiramisu-was a bit frozen, might have come out of freezer, but the banana flavor was good and hazelnut cookie is a good twist (6/10). Overall very pleased with the ambiance and service. Would highly recommend for a pit stop at Temecula. read more

We had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant, which unfortunately ruined a birthday celebration. When we checked in with the host, Kayley, we were told that the dining room was completely full and that only bar seating was available. Since we were staying at the South Coast Winery Reaort, we decided to stay anyway. We mentioned that we were celebrating a birthday, and she rudely told us that we would need to inform our server instead. Once seated, Kayley didn't bring us menus, and from there everything went downhill. Our server took a while to take our order and forgot multiple simple requests. One person in our party never received water. We asked for a high chair and had to remind him. Our food arrived before our silverware. The salt we requested came after we were already finished eating. Despite clearly mentioning the birthday, nothing was brought out to acknowledge or celebrate it. To make matters worse, when we received our check, no pen was provided to sign the receipt. Our server did apologize when we pointed out the issues, but at that point there had been too many mistakes one after another for the apology to make a difference. We then informed both host Kayley and Brianna about how unpleasant the experience had been, Kayley showed no concern and responded with a poor attitude. We escalated the issue to the manager, Alan, who simply agreed with what we said but made no effort to resolve the situation or make things right. Overall, this was a terrible experience and a very disappointing way to celebrate a birthday. We will not be returning. Management and ownership should seriously consider better training for both the front of the house staff and management. read more

The place is as clean and wonderful as it was the last time we were there. it is just lovely and there is dinning inside or outside, both are great. The service is now perfect. They get to you right away and check on you. Your food is delivered pretty fast and it is just great. This time we had for breakfast, the steak and eggs which has this wonderful mushroom seasoning, a tasty flat iron steak with fried eggs and wonderful roasted tomatoes and great potatoes. We loved every bite. We also had, smoked salmon toast which has avocado, cucumber a lemon dill yogurt a bite of caviar and sourdough bread. I don't know if they make it there, but it is great. I could just eat toast and more toast and be happy. It also has a side salad which is crisp and ever so fresh. We returned for dinner a couple of nights later and were just wowed by the selection and the food. We started with Caesar salad and a great Mediterranean salad, which had mixed romaine, the best tomatoes, cucumber, onion, olives, some great feta cheese along with a tasty lemon-oregano dressing. It was all so fresh and crispy. We tried the salmon, with wild mushroom congee, legumes and shaved carrots. It was cooked to perfection and some of the best salmon we have had in Temecula. It was just perfect. The filet we order was cooked rare, exactly as ordered and so tender. It had a mushroom seasoning, the best smoked mashed potatoes, perfect asparagus all in a wonderful deep wine sauce. It was magical. We also had some shrimp because we are spoiled and were in heaven. The crème brulee was very good, not the best I have ever had, but super good. Try their caramel-pecan brownie. it is the best with graham whipped mallow brulée, a tasty chili ash salt with goji berry. That is something you can't really get that good elsewhere. We did not have wine, but we had some great coffee. I forgot my phone, in the car, so borrowed two photos. We had the best time and so will you. read more

Staff was nice, ambience was fine- but the food was especially bad- the Prime Rib, apparently their "special" - was dry and difficult to cut, doused in A1 and presented on a bed of very mediocre mashed potatoes. My father's End Cut was 70% fat and inedible. We were all very upset and let down by the quality of food they allowed to leave their kitchen and be served to paying customers. read more

This time we were staying at the resort and decided we would give it another try. We are glad we did! I ordered the salmon and my husband had the filet. We started our meal with a Mediterranean salad with the tastiest olives. My salmon, with a crispy skin, was perfectly cooked and served over a delicious congee with tender vegetables. It was a dish full of delicious flavors! My husband also loved his filet. Our server, Michael, did a great job! The only downside was that he didn't come around as often as we would've liked to check on our table. The restaurant itself is quite big, and the grounds are lovely. Good food, not so good service. The food at Vineyard Rose was genuinely good but the service wasn't. We were seated quickly and placed our order right away, but everything after that was frustrating. Drinks and appetizers took a while to arrive, and after finishing them, we waited over 30 minutes without any service until a manager finally came by. Instead of focusing on the apology or trying to make things right, he pointed out (bragged!) that he was arriving at the "27-minute mark" and blamed delays on a large party and the fact that we ordered medium-rare steaks??? When we asked for more drinks, Brussels sprouts, or Caesar (which we enjoyed), he shut it down and offered bread we didn't want. I'd prefer him not come to address us at all honestly. One of our meals was missing mashed potatoes. Our server agreed, but the kitchen insisted they were there (they weren't), and nothing was done to fix it. We were also seated in front of a huge industrial fan and freezing. when we asked for it to be turned off, we were told it would require a tech with a ladder. Again, no solutions offered. After waiting an hour for our entrees, I shared my concerns with the manager. He was defensive, dismissive, and refused to comp or discount anything. Brought up the temperature of the steaks again. He concluded that 27 minutes with food already on the table (long ago devoured) was really good timing for a fine dining restaurant. Mind you the food actually took an hour?? Good food, but the worst service experience I've had in a long time. Not because of our waiter or other staff. But because of the manager. read more
