In a beautiful setting at the South Coast Winery is the Vineyard Rose restaurant. It is very important to note that we arrived while the sun was still up. The entrance was truly royal with 30 foot ceilings in a wood frame building. All of the tables are separated from each neighbor which is great for privacy. The food was amazing. My husband had a glass of South Coast Zinfandel. It was a dark, rich color with a nice fragrance and smooth flavor. As designated driver, I had the tropical ice tea that was very good. My husband ordered the spring escargot which was great. He said that he never had escargot as good as that. I had the French onion soup which was very flavorful with lots of onions, a large crouton and melted cheese. It was very good. Although the bowl was hot, the soup didn't stay hot very long. My husband ordered the salmon putenesca and it was perfectly cooked. I had the short ribs which was tasty, but again, only lukewarm. A very flavorful meal. Our service was very good. Brody and Lucas took very good care to make it an enjoyable dinner. My big complaint came at the end of the meal. Inside the restaurant was a ramp for people who have difficulty with steps. No one directed us to a ramp outside, even though my husband walks with a cane. Even though the staircase was lit outside, it was not lit enough for someone with poor vision because there wasn't a very good contrast signifying the end of the steps with a fairly high rise. But the parking lot near the restaurant had no lights and the curb to step down was very high. This really put a damper on what was an excellent meal. My conclusion is that the staff should have warned us about where a ramp might be and the darkness at night outside the restaurant. As it was the first time at the restaurant, if we choose to eat a dinner meal there again, I would need to ask many questions about the suitability of eating there at night. read more

Vineyard Rose The Vineyard Rose restaurant is in the South Coast Winery and Vineyard Resort in Temecula. Upon entry, you'll notice the high pitched A framed ceiling which reminded me of some chalets I visited in Europe. The mostly wood and tapestry decor some might consider classic seemed dated but well maintained. The restaurant was half full, because most people were in the tasting room, at the other end of the resort, where the 2026 FIFA was on the monitor. The restaurant had a large outdoor patio with cool misters but it was too hot to dine outdoors. Inside the restaurant was large and many booth seating which we preferred. The walls of shelves showcased many awards and bottles of the wines produced by South Coast Vineyard. From the menu we ordered the prime rib along with Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Syrah both rated 90 points from wine reviews. After tasting the wines, there was no doubt the wines were very good. The prime ribs were served with mashed potatoes and asparagus tasted surprisingly very flavorful and delicious. Usually a pescatarian dish, but I was really excited to taste their red wines which paired well with the hearty prime rib, and the pairing was palate perfect. Service from the staff, especially the server and the head chef was great. The head chef used work for Lisa Vanderpump and resided in Beverly Hills, so we had that connection and we chatted. From the moment we walked in, we had an excellent experience. Our server, Bobby, was friendly, attentive, and timed our food perfectly. I ordered the pancakes with bananas , my wife enjoyed the omelette with potatoes and a side of sourdough toast , and our granddaughter had the kids' meal with one egg, one pancake, and bacon . To drink, I had a delicious cup of coffee , and my wife enjoyed a sangria. Shortly after we placed our order, Bobby came back to let me know they had run out of bananas and asked if fresh berries would be an acceptable substitute. I agreed, and he sincerely apologized for the inconvenience. To my surprise, when my breakfast arrived, it had fresh bananas on it! Bobby explained that the kitchen manager had actually gone to the store to buy more bananas so they could fulfill my order. Wow--that is customer service! It speaks volumes about a team that truly cares about its guests and goes the extra mile to make sure they leave happy. We visited on a Saturday evening for dinner. The host was very slow to seat us even with a reservation. The host tried to take napkins and forks from the table that were for our kids. Only one of two children was provided water. We were not given children's menus. We requested a high chair and it was missing safety straps. We ordered "bread service" for $7 and were not given bread plates. When we requested them, we were given 2 for our 4 person party. I took my toddler to the bathroom and it smelled terrible and the accessible bathroom stall had someone's underwear left hanging on the hook meant for purses or coats. I've stayed at this winery a few years back but had not ate at the restaurant. We visited the restaurant and it is three or four buildings. It is an outside area, two tasting rooms, a bar then you walk to the restaurant. I ordered the chilaqules, with a side if bacon and an IPA. the chilaqules was delicious, the breakfast potatoes were well seasoned and the side of bacon was good as well. Ordered room service and just expected more from such a nice winery/hotel. My aunt and I shared a Cesar salad, spicy rigatoni, and side garlic potatoes w/horseradish. The salad croutons were terrible and old, the Parmesan didn't taste fresh or authentic, the horseradish was just sour cream. Room service usually comes with little mini condiments and this had none. Some afternoons are just meant to be savored and this was one of them. We brought our dog and were able to sit on the patio, which overlooked a beautiful green lawn. It was the kind of setting that makes you slow down and actually be present. Dog friendly, gorgeous views, a glass of rosé in hand... what more do you really need. The staff was friendly and unhurried... you never feel rushed here, which is exactly the right energy for a winery setting. We ordered the beyond burger, charcuterie board, truffle fries, and a vegetable bolognese with added chicken. Everything was enjoyable but the truffle fries were genuinely addictive. If you are heading to Temecula wine country and want a beautiful spot to spend a few hours with good food, a lovely glass of wine, and yes... your dog... this is it. A truly lovely afternoon. After a full day of winetasting around Temecula, we were so happy that we made a reservation at the Vineyard Rose. First and foremost, the food is very fresh and so delicious ... We had a lovely booth in the middle of the restaurant and we were taking care of by the weight staff, but we're so friendly and so nice . They do sell more bottles than glasses of wines, but you are more than welcome to bring a bottle for a corkage fee . While attending the sip and shop ladies day I decided to grab lunch in their beautiful restaurant. What drew my attention was the open beams. Unbeknownst to me, the owner is another buckeye from Ohio. Before coming down, I looked up information on the winery and discovered The Vineyard Rose Restaurant has been honored with the prestigious 2025 Wine Spectator Award of Excellence for the third consecutive year, so after shopping in the quaint gift shop and meandering through the banquet room where vendors were set up, I made myself comfortable at one of the tables. From the gift shop to my waiter, everyone was very kind and friendly. I ordered a margherita pizza with chicken and mango raspberry mimosa. Both were delicious. The customer service was great, we had Matt when we came in for their brunch and he was very friendly and attentive. We ordered the cali Benedict, and the chilaquiles. The chilaquiles were so good! Came here for dinner while visiting from out of town. Location is beautiful. It has high ceilings and looks like a cabin inside. I had the Braised Short rib on a bed of mashed potatoes. While the tomato paste on top didn't look as appealing, it did provide flavor to the entire meal. The plate needed more mashed potatoes. My wife had the seafood linguini with truffle Alfredo. This was actually a disappointment. We checked in to our room at a different winery at 7pm and the grill was already closed. The Vineyard Rose was recommended by the receptionist and it was close so we tried it. The place was nice but dates. Like it was nice years ago - like stepping back in time. There was no wait. I'm assuming because it is so large inside and the food is so mediocre. We started by splitting a Caesar salad. My wife ordered the chicken, I ordered the short rib and garlic potatoes. The potatoes never came and the server looked me dead in the eye and said he didn't hear me order them. Then proceeded to question it like he was trying to convince me I never said it. My said her chicken was okay. My short rib was dry and somewhat bland. The server brought out an order of garlic potatoes even though I had told him not to because I didn't want to wait for them. So more than half way through my meal, the potatoes arrived. Which is exactly what I had told the server I didn't want. They were no charge - thankfully, and I am actually thankful the server forgot them originally because they were not good. After dinner we ordered the crème brûlée. They were good. The coffee had grounds in it. And the cup had a big dried coffee drip on the opposite side I was drinking from - ie, they served me a dirty cup. All in all, it was "meh". We had an average lunch but the hostess staff was incredibly rude, so rude I'll never be back or recommend. I made a reservation prior to my arrival and requested outdoor seating. I confirmed outdoor seating upon arrival, we waited 15 minutes to be sat outside at a table next to the doors. I requested a table further away on balcony (there were 3 open) and was told we couldn't sit there because they were reserved. I said yes, I made a reservation prior to asking to be sat there and confirmed seating at check in. She then back tracked and said well that waiter was just sat a large table of 4ppl (we were a party of 5), I said I'm happy to wait and she said okay well you have to go back and wait in the entrance area, we couldn't wait the 15 mins at the table. It was obscene to go and spend $250 on lunch for my family and have a hostess with attitude and lying about tables and seating. Our server was kind, and helped me choose a wine with lunch. I then went to the wine shop to purchase the Carter Cabernet Sauvignon I was served to find out it wasn't even a wine from this winery and I needed to go down the road to the Carter Vineyard or purchase it back at the restaurant for a higher price. For the price, the food was not good. The waiter seemed pretty careless, probably because we had a party of 12 and he was getting his 22% tip, no matter what (automatic 22% on parties over 10). We ate inside, and the restaurant itself was okay. The flatbread was the only thing that was decent. Visited to kill time before the 98 Degrees concert. Arrived right after they closed for weekday lunch. Restaurant it self was very elaborate and very beautiful inside and outside. The bartender was on point with drinks and service. Order two appetizers the calamari was crispy and full of flavor. If I had one complaint it was the nacho and salsa. Service, views, food were all on point We decided to get dinner before the concert held outside. The Batida de coco drink was really good! Yummy creamy coconut lime cocktail. We started off with the ceviche, Caesar salad, and hummus. The citrus soy miso vinaigrette on the ceviche was so good! You could pour that on anything and it would be good. The ceviche was fresh and the Caesar salad nice and crisp. The hummus was also really good with that addition of the chili oil. For dinner we all shared the gnocchi, braised short ribs, herb roasted chicken breast and pork chop. Everything was flavorful and tasted fresh. The meats were all very tender/fall off the bone and the best entree was the braised short rib. We decided to give this place a try for breakfast/lunch since we will be going to the wineries for the day.(Located inside South Coast Winery) We showed up around 930am and got sat right away. Our server Michael was great, friendly and patient. Our food came out with in about 15 mins, we ordered the chicken sandwich with fries and chilaquiles rojos. Food was good. Just had my Thanksgiving/ Birthday dinner at the Vineyard Rose Restaurant. What a total disappointment. Buffet style was for Thanksgiving. $85 pp. The food was minimal. Process Turkey, mashed potatoes weren't fully cooked. All the food was cold or lukewarm. Mentioned it to the manager, he said let me go see what I can do.... and walked away. The Vineyard Rose is part of a wonderful resort hotel to which we have yet to stay, but we sure want to. The restaurant is so great. This time we had both breakfast and dinner there. The place is as clean and wonderful as it was the last time we were there. it is just lovely and there is dinning inside or outside, both are great. The service is now perfect. They get to you right away and check on you. Your food is delivered pretty fast and it is just great. This time we had for breakfast, the steak and eggs which has this wonderful mushroom seasoning, a tasty flat iron steak with fried eggs and wonderful roasted tomatoes and great potatoes. We loved every bite. We also had, smoked salmon toast which has avocado, cucumber a lemon dill yogurt a bite of caviar and sourdough bread. I don't know if they make it there, but it is great. I could just eat toast and more toast and be happy. It also has a side salad which is crisp and ever so fresh. We returned for dinner a couple of nights later and were just wowed by the selection and the food. We started with Caesar salad and a great Mediterranean salad, which had mixed romaine, the best tomatoes, cucumber, onion, olives, some great feta cheese along with a tasty lemon-oregano dressing. It was all so fresh and crispy. We tried the salmon, with wild mushroom congee, legumes and shaved carrots. It was cooked to perfection and some of the best salmon we have had in Temecula. It was just perfect. The filet we order was cooked rare, exactly as ordered and so tender. It had a mushroom seasoning, the best smoked mashed potatoes, perfect asparagus all in a wonderful deep wine sauce. It was magical. We also had some shrimp because we are spoiled and were in heaven. The crème brulee was very good, not the best I have ever had, but super good. Try their caramel-pecan brownie. it is the best with graham whipped mallow brulée, a tasty chili ash salt with goji berry. That is something you can't really get that good elsewhere. We did not have wine, but we had some great coffee. I forgot my phone, in the car, so borrowed two photos. We had the best time and so will you. read more

The wine was good and we had a decent appetizer the Brussel sprouts I'll give them that. i Have a few dietary restrictions and I asked the server about a pasta dish and asked if it was possible to do without dairy, he went and asked the "chefs" and they said yes. Ok here's the thing, if you can't do it that's fine just tell me and I'll order something else but they sent out some plain bland noodles with steak and called it a day. Zero ingredients no seasoning I was confused they said they could make the dish without dairy. So the manager came over because I guess the food runner told him I was co fused by the dish. To with I let him know it was a mushroom pasta, I thought it would have mushrooms, seasoning, something. He told me they don't have anything in the kitchen to make a sauce and everything is pre made. I asked "you don't have mushrooms in the kitchen?" He said "we have mushrooms but they are far and it takes too Long" and then he went back to the kitchen came back again and told me they are too busy to do anything or make anything.... I asked for salt and pepper and called it a day. My sister got her food as is and hers was bland as well. Just over priced and not good. Zero quality. they don't even have chefs making food back there it's pre made low quality with premium prices. Took my mother here for a lunch date this last Monday. I explained that this was one of the few winery restaurants I found to be open that day as most are only open Fri-Sun. And it most likely had something to do with the fact that this is a resort as well with guests staying throughout the week. Still we looked forward to having a quieter than normal experience. Once inside- we looked around until someone came to greet us. We noticed there was an outdoor patio over looking their lower terrace which looks as its meant to be able to hold special events. Off in the distance I was pleased to see a portion of their grape vineyards though I found myself thinking it would've been nice if the locations of the two had been switched. The vineyards would've made for a nicer direct view from the patio. While I had originally booked my reservation for outdoor seating- once there- & saw that there was no real view from the tables aside from other occupied tables. We opted for indoor seating instead. It was indeed definitely quiet as we mostly had the restaurant to ourselves- at least the indoor part almost up until the time we left. Our server Nathan was pleasant and attentive throughout our time there. For drinks- since I am partial to the sweet kind, he recommended their mango raspberry mimosa. My mother and I enjoyed them and I will say they tasted stronger than the usual and not overly sweet- but we didn't mind that. To start we ordered the Ceviche Tataki and I believe my mother was more of a fan than I was. If you like your ceviche with a bit of sweet you will enjoy this- however I grew up on the savory /sour type of ceviche and have always liked sweet- only in my desserts. For our meals my mother chose the Seabass Fish Tacos and I chose the wild mushrooms flatbread. I'll be honest in saying I made my choice in an attempt to try to replicate my flavorful experience of the Leoness Cellars flatbread of the same name and I was just as honest with Nathan when I ordered it. He recommended I add the prosciutto to add to the flavor. This plate too however was nothing like the flavorful flatbread at Leoness and I found myself thinking- there is something sweet in this too. Balsamic vinegar? I caught myself wishing I had taken a closer look at the ingredients or simply gone with the linguine as I had originally planned. That would've for sure not had any sweet to it- I hoped at least. My mother says she enjoyed her seabass tacos and the only thing she mentioned was wondering why they used the type of tortillas they used. The different textured maiz ones she sometimes sees at restaurants. Said it gave her a different taste to the tacos. I just took it as she wished they were the regular or even handmade ones. She also mentioned being surprised by the presence of red caviar on top- I don't think it was an unpleasant surprise but I will venture to say they were definitely not your regular run of the mill fish tacos. I did try a bite but can't seem to recall any particular flavors of note. I remember telling her to add some of the salsa that came with it- maybe that would add to the overall flavor. Overall, it was a pleasant experience but don't really have anything foodwise that I tasted that would make this a restaurant I want to return to. I did see that they were voted the best winery restaurant in '20-'21 - I truly hope they find their way back to serving memorable dishes that won them those accolades. I may just return to try different dishes on the menu- if only just to see if having chosen a savory plate would have made a difference. read more

Our server was very professional, he even asked us if we wanted our dishes to be delivered as we finished each course or all together. For drinks we got cocktails (root beer old fashion and saturn) and wine, cocktails were pretty strong and decent wine pour. Each table also got complimentary bread service, could have been served warm but was fluffy. Octopus-best dish of the night, plump and not fishy at all, came with a side of creamy sauce and radishes. Located within a vineyard and spa, multiple buildings where people can spend the whole relaxing day at The presentation was exquisite and the service was very attentive. Our water glasses was always full and they checked in if we wanted more wine. We ordered the veggie board - the hummus was icy and my husband didn't like that. Great Sunday brunch. Get the Benedict sit out on the back patio it's covered and has a great view of their courtyard. There's a mister out there when it gets hot. Service was great. read more
