The Vig is participating the in the RI Food Fight Wings 2024 competition. We had a coupon and found ourself next door at the Dunk. So... we opted to cash that coupon in! But it's didn't go as planned... First off it snowed that day. The stairs to get into the establishment- not shoveled. Weak! We get inside and present the coupon as it states before ordering. The waitress had no idea what was happening. We placed our order. 10 minutes later she approaches up about our 6 free wings with the coupon and informs us that it is only for one flavor, plum sauce, not listed on the menu. I posed the question what if someone is allergic to plus? Are real plums in the sauce? She called another higher up and told us that we can only get that one flavor as it is in a national competition. It says Rhode Island right in the competition! Plus we did the food fight last year. We went to 27 establishments and only about 2 had ules about what flavor they wanted you to try. When we entered we weren't that thrilled about the offerings and prices so after the run around and our daughters plum allergy at stake, we opted to leave and even left the coupon with no interest in returning again even for our free wings! Then decor was modern (I don't really understand the hanging punching bags) and my water was fine. Now you know our whole Vig experience.

Great service and food. Saved my nite, didn't want to go out in this freezing cold weather. It's great that they are open till 10pm, also comfortable seats and bunch of TV's help you settle and relax during your done in experience.

The food was all right. The drink was amazing! I had ordered a Ruby Red Cosmo and was amazing! The service was very slow as there was one cook and one bar tender on a Sunday! The ambiance is cute and low key. Semi-like a speakeasy. Wasn't too loud or quiet. It's a hotel lounge and bar area to hangout in. I would recommend it as it was the only motion for us as we got in a little late. They also didn't have their staple New England Calm Chowder and I got the Calm Cakes and Mixed Green Salad. We waited about 45 minutes for two items. Be patient with them but the bar tender is nice.

The decor and ambiance are great. A tourist/visitor spot as this is connected to the Hilton. The drinks are the better half of this establishment. The food was a little less than Okay. My waitress said the Mac and cheese is popular but I didn't have that. I ordered the fish and chips (or something). I was excited about the sauce (aioli) but I was left wanting more; more flavor, more freshness, more of something. My friends that didn't order the Mac and cheese didn't like their food. One had the steak and they said it was salty. I would only recommend this place for drinks.

This is the restaurant/ lounge inside the Providence Hilton. It's very comfy and modern, it's inviting to hang out and have a drink. We mostly went down and got a drink before we were going out, I tend to shy away from eating full dinner in hotel restaurants because I think they are more for convenience rather then great food. Even tho here it seemed to be a focus on serving fresh, quality foods. We did get some apps of the Bourbon Bacon Caramel Popcorn ( I know how could this possibly be bad!) and house made potato chips with creamy onion dip...they were both delicious! And paired perfectly with a beer or mixed drink. Bartenders were friendly and knowledgeable about their drinks and they had some creative mixed cocktails ( and they made them strong!)

What a great ambiance and remodel ! The old Shula's at the Hilton is now The Vig. It opened in the Fall of 2016 and I finally got a chance to try it out for dinner. My BF and I decided to try several things and this is our review... -House Potato chips. Nice, crisp, lightly salted, yummy. -Bacon caramel popcorn Addictive, delicious, great flavor, great fresh taste -RI Fried calamari One of the best I've had in a long time. Crisp, not chewy, not greasy. Light and delicate. Great tartar sauce on the side -Korean BBQ wings. Gooey and sweet, a vinegar note in the sauce.. Meaty and salty -Mac and Cheese Creamy, light and delicious. The bacon bits on top were crisp and flavorful. Very nice dish. -Strawberry Rhubarb Ice Cream Sandwich. Light and delicious. We could taste the freshness of the jam and the great vanilla ice cream flavor. Christina was our excellent server and we got a chance to meet Don, the GM and say hi to Frank, the owner. A great choice in downtown, near the Dunkin Donuts center, the Hill and the theaters. Check it out. Credit cards accepted. Separate checks available.

Appetizers have cauliflower bites, SNL nachos, tenders, Jumbo, pretzel with a cheese sauce, mozzarella sticks, southwest eggrolls, Crispy Brussels, Fried pickles, and quesadilla. Salads House and Caesar. They only had Caesar so I decided to stick with fries. Pizzas: Buffalo Chicken, BBQ Chicken and Chicken Bacon Ranch. Sandwiches Classical Burger, Chicken Caesar Wrap, Steak and Cheese and Crispy Chicken I ordered the Buffalo chicken sandwich with DOUBLE buffalo chicken and fries. The best Buffalo chicken I had so far not too salty and not extreme spicy, well rounded and balanced. The chef at this establishment really knows how to make the food pop from the other restaurants around. The bartender was my server and she did a pretty good. My first visit and they already get 4 stars. If keeps up on my next visit when I dine in then i will definitely have no choice but they move to a full 5 stars. So delicious - two smashburger patties, lots of cheese, lettuce, and a special sauce. It was cooked just right and was huge! We also got nachos, which were a great sized portion as well. My passionfruit margarita was really good as well and the service was excellent. Vibe was great too - more upscale than the typical sports bar, but still comfortable. They had trivia on Thursday nights starting at 7, and I think they have specials on other nights as well.

My sister asked for more syrup and they actually charged us $1 for the ramekin of syrup! Never been to a place that charged for more syrup! We weren't even told that it would be an extra cost. For service, the customers need to be awared. My grandma asked for soft scrabble eggs, which was cooked perfectly to her liking. I had the Nashville hot chicken and waffles with fries. The waffles was cooked a bit too long. The chicken was very juicy but was not hot at all. For Nashville hot, I expected a lot more and I was very disappointed. On the menu, it said drizzled with syrup but there wasn't really any syrup at all. If it was for the chicken being juicy, that sandwhich would of been so dry!!! Yet the fries were good! Service could of been better. Our waitress was nice but barely checked on us. When asking for syrup the first time with another waitress, she said ok but went straight to her table that was near us to take orders. So waited another 5 or so minutes until a lady (who seemed like a manager) came by and we asked again.

What an amazing find this place is. Been here on a few different occasions now…read more Food: Bang Bang Brussels: is a heaping portion and flavorful. They are crispy on the outside and not over cooked on the inside. The sauce they are served with compliments the spice of the Brussels. Sweet potato fries: here are among the best I've found in my year in Providence. They are always crispy and never excessive with the oil. Veg out burger: I highly recommend this. Delicious as is but bartender there suggested and I fell in love with the veg patty itself with the preparation the Fire In The Hole burger instead. So flavorful. Veggie patty is crispy and filled with fresh veggies that still keep a crunch. Drinks: wide variety of beers on tap as well including a favorite of mine Kona Big Wave. keep being awesome yall are killing it. Atmosphere: Monday they also have karaoke which is friendly low pressure and just a good time. Venue offers open windows letting in fresh air during good weather. There's plenty of seating, the lights are low and cozy, and the vibe is super chill. The music was really good and we pretty much sang the entire time we were there LOL. The guys behind the bar were great, super attentive and helpful without hovering. We all ordered burgers with fries, and honestly, they were exactly what we needed. Fresh, juicy, and perfectly done. We each got a beer too, and while the first round came out a little flat, the bartender immediately replaced them without hesitation and made sure our water glasses stayed full all night. For three people, the total came out to about $60, which was not bad at all for solid food, good service, and a laid-back spot to unwind after a long day. Definitely worth checking out if you want an unpretentious bar with good energy and even better burgers.

My thoughts on the food: it's alright!! I enjoyed my drink, which was one of the Super Bowl…read morespecials. I also liked the wings, we tried garlic Parmesan, buffalo, and Thai chili I believe. They were my favorite part. We also ordered the buffalo chicken pizza, which in my opinion was very bleu cheesey, but I also do not have much experience with buffalo chicken pizza. My concern was that the crust was really thin and just not that great, but still had a couple slices. The buffalo sauce was good for sure. We also had the cookie skillet for dessert which was very ooey gooey but perhaps a little too sweet. You may be thinking, "well yeah of course it's sweet, it's a cookie skillet," but it was an over powering sweetness. But it was a really good portion for sharing with my group of three! The vibe here was pretty nice, the old-firehouse-turned-bar is cool and the decor matches the aesthetic well. There are booths in little nooks and others out in the open and I like the variability. They also have a privateish area for private events. Theres even a parking lot! The service was also good, I was there for their Super Bowl watch party, and while it wasn't insanely busy, the servers were very attentive. As I said, I came here for the Super Bowl with some friends. They had raffles going, a DJ, plenty of TVs showing the game, some free swag, and a special menu. It was nice! They had a special drink menu, although it did advertise deals on food which ended up not being true. I had fun watching the game here, and while the place wasn't packed, most of the other spectators were from the local colleges... they were rather annoying, especially by the end of the night. Different groups were arguing with each other by the end, and one kid swore at the DJ for drawing a raffle winner that wasn't one of the college kids. The kids were leaving so the staff didn't need to intervene I'd say. But it brought us non-college student patrons together. Ah, the game day spirit! So if you're looking for a mature crowd, this may not be the place!

You know those spots that make you wonder if anyone in the kitchen has tasted their own food…read morebefore? Ladder 133 is that kind of beautiful disappointment - a place where the bones of something great are buried under the mediocrity of execution. The building itself, a converted Providence firehouse, practically begs you to love it. Red brick exterior, high ceilings, industrial charm that whispers stories of brass poles and midnight alarms. The kind of place that should be serving food as honest as the first responders who once called it home. Instead, what you get is a study in missed opportunities. Take the pizza - please. In a city that practically invented the art of turning basic ingredients into something transcendent, what arrives is a sad testament to lowered expectations. The crust has that unmistakable character of something that's seen the inside of a freezer, though someone's at least tried to jazz it up with some grill marks. The sauce tastes like it's trying to remember what tomatoes were like in a past life, and the cheese... well, calling it forgettable would require remembering it was there in the first place. The bathroom walls tell their own story - the kind of graffiti that speaks less to youthful rebellion and more to management's casual relationship with giving a shit. It's the little things that tell you everything in a restaurant, and unattended bathroom graffiti screams volumes about attention to detail. Yet somehow, like a random act of culinary kindness, they manage to nail the chicken parm sliders. Decent chunks of tender chicken, nestled in pillowy Hawaiian rolls, actually dressed with sauce and cheese that remember their purpose in life. It's like stumbling across a coherent paragraph in a book full of gibberish. The cookie skillet dessert arrives like a cruel joke - burnt to carbon on the outside while maintaining a center so raw it could probably evolve into sentient life if given enough time. It's the kind of dish that makes you wonder if the oven's temperature settings are more suggestion than rule. But here's the thing - the bartender actually did a great job. Quick with refills, genuine smile, the kind of service that makes you want to like the place more than the food allows. It's reasonably priced too, though that feels less like value and more like an apology. Providence has real culinary chops, Ladder 133 is what happens when potential jumps towards the pole and face-plants. Sure, come for a game, throw down a few beers, maybe grab those surprisingly decent sliders. But for the love of all things holy and Rhode Island, get your pizza somewhere else. This is the kind of place that reminds you why the phrase "sports bar food" often comes with built-in expectations of disappointment. At least the building's still cool.

I'm glad I made a reservation! Our server, Ayden, made the whole experience very special! He was personable, available & fun to chat with as he is also a semi-professional wrestler. We were there to try the nachos as they looked delicious when other diners ordered them. WOW! It is a HUGE platter of chips topped with shredded monterey jack, homemade black bean corn salsa, beer cheese queso & a drizzle of guacamole & sour cream. I asked for extra queso because I like everything to be smothered & that it was! Two people could easily make a meal of this platter alone. And we didn't even add any protein (pulled pork, grilled or crispy chicken option)! Not knowing the size of the nachos, we wanted to try something else. I asked Ayden: quesadilla or Nashville naan. He said for former but we felt that we were already doing a Tex-Mex inspired dish so we opted for the latter. On top of naan, crispy chicken with mozzarella, smoked bacon, scallions & house-infused hot honey drizzle. A good amount of toppings & the naan was delightfully chewy. I thought it was going to be Nashville hot spicy given the name but you have to order Nashville hot or buffalo chicken for an additional charge.
