Visited Moonshine Alley before going to a show at PPAC and it was great! We arrived at 5pm and it was nearly empty, though I'm sure it gets busy later on. Loved the spacious room, the country decor and the overall vibe of the restaurant. We all ordered pumpkin beers with fireball or apple pie whiskey and we all got the cinnamon and sugar rim - Delicious! Moonshine Alley has an "Appy Hour menu, with several 1/2 price appetizers, and ordering 3 appetizers was more than enough food for our party of 3. We got the naan pizza, the quesadilla, and the nachos. All were good, but the standout was definitely the nachos! I love cornbread, so I also got an order of that and it was amazing - served hot with lots of melty butter on top. As we were leaving, a musician was setting up, and I'm sure that there was a really fun night planned at Moonshine Alley! read more

First time at moonshine for dinner! I was pleasantly surprised at how great everything was! A huge plus cause I love live music and they had that early on a Saturday night! Bonus!! Our waitress was super friendly and perfectly attentive and best of all - she didn't rush us even though it was clearly turning into the night scene around us! Cornbread - yum!! My salad was fresh with a really great dressing! Everyone loved their meals! We will definitely be back! Music and a great dinner! Winning! :) read more

Hubby goes to Moonshine Alley when he's early to pick me up from work & will have a beer. We were going to a show at PPAC & he wanted to try the Appy Hour menu. After a kinda meh first experience last year for Providence Restaurant Week, we decided to give it another try. And we were glad we did! It was a Friday night & pretty busy for 5:30pm. I'm glad I made a reservation! Our server, Ayden, made the whole experience very special! He was personable, available & fun to chat with as he is also a semi-professional wrestler. We were there to try the nachos as they looked delicious when other diners ordered them. WOW! It is a HUGE platter of chips topped with shredded monterey jack, homemade black bean corn salsa, beer cheese queso & a drizzle of guacamole & sour cream. I asked for extra queso because I like everything to be smothered & that it was! Two people could easily make a meal of this platter alone. And we didn't even add any protein (pulled pork, grilled or crispy chicken option)! Not knowing the size of the nachos, we wanted to try something else. I asked Ayden: quesadilla or Nashville naan. He said for former but we felt that we were already doing a Tex-Mex inspired dish so we opted for the latter. On top of naan, crispy chicken with mozzarella, smoked bacon, scallions & house-infused hot honey drizzle. A good amount of toppings & the naan was delightfully chewy. I thought it was going to be Nashville hot spicy given the name but you have to order Nashville hot or buffalo chicken for an additional charge. We added a good amount of Cholula to kick it up a notch! Definitely a good return visit. Thanks Ayden for making us feel special & being such a fun person. We'll be dreaming about those nachos until the next visit! NOM NOM NOM #YUM read more

First time here and it was for a fundraiser so I can only speak of a mid Saturday afternoon and we both had the signature drink for the shelter to soda x boozy buddies x moonshine alley event. It was good! I thought the prices were readable! The staff here was nice and I like how they put aside a space just for the fundraiser to help dogs! That was real nice. The ambiance was cool! If I lived closer, and the parking was better i would def go again! read more

We made an early reservation and asked for a low table when we got there. We were one of 2 tables sitting. I have a messed up knee or I wouldn't ask. The hostess told us there were too many reservations to accommodate a low table! Watched them accommodate another party of 4 that didn't like their table and watched the empty tables around us remain empty for the length of our dinner as well. Drink tasted like early 20's regret! read more

We have been wanting to try Moonshine for a while. The wife and I went for an early dinner. We sat right down and the place looks like it could be super fun with the live music later on. We were greeted and ordered the pulled pork nachos. I think the biggest mistake restaurants make with nachos is... they put the chips down and just pile on toppings on top. So imagine, pulled pork, guacamole, Sour cream and a bean / corn salsa just piled on top. Yup all the chips were mushy. No cheese! The server came back to take our entree order and I asked for a side of cheese. She said oh thats weird they are usually cheesy. She comes back with a ramekin of beer cheese. She says oh the cook forgot to put it on. ‍ She took our order. I had to order the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich. I absolutely love Hot Chicken. I've been to Nashville a few times and eat it frequently here as well. Well, the fries were cold. Salted nicely, but 1 bite in and you know they needed 5 more minutes in the fryer. Ok, it happens. I cut my Hot Chicken sandwich in 1/2. It's really hard to cut thru. It's even barely warm on the outside. Fine... well I take a bite and somethings isn't right. I look at the chicken and it's 80% raw in the middle. I spit out the chicken. I call the server over. She apologized which was nice. Asked if I wanted something else. I said no. My wife ordered the salad with salmon. She said it was OK, but she list her appetite as well after my chicken was raw. The manager came over and apologized, and took it off the bill. That was nice, but I really think the rest of our meal should have been comp'd. You gave me raw chicken. Probably the absolute worst thing to serve in a restaurant. The server was nice, but we won't be back. Huge disappointment as it's a cool themed place. read more

Our second visit here, appreciate the western and sporty atmosphere of this place and the food. They offer moonshine tasting flights (but no more bourbon flight sadly) we enjoyed the flight moonshine creams, 4 tastes of flavored cream like Bailey's but not: banana, strawberry, coffee, and pecan. Fun and definitely had not tasted these before. We enjoyed a rich 'n melt apart rack of ribs, side of kale-based coleslaw and chose sweet potato fries ( just wish the kitchen had put the fries on the side so they weren't buried under juicy ribs because the fries arrived very soggy). Dinner was made better by an excellent server who was friendly and fun. Next time a football game is on I'll keep this big wall screen in mind! Live music happens several times a week so I'll be back again for these and the ribs! Tip: valet parking is offered on busy nights.Or a lot across the street has $10 parking if you get stuck on an off night. read more

Moonshine is a spacious establishment with excellent service. I had the espresso martini--twice--and both absolutely hit the spot. Charlie, the bartender, was incredibly welcoming and made one of the best espresso martinis I've ever had. Honestly, I'd come back just for him. We had great conversation and he kept me laughing the whole time. Came in on a Tuesday afternoon and it wasn't packed at all, which made for a relaxed and comfortable vibe. There is a happy hour deal Monday to Friday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. where you can get hash puppies, cornbread, loaded tots, fried pickles, and nachos. I had the loaded tots and they were amazing. The creamy cheese sauce was something I've never tasted. I will definitely be back for the dinner menu. There are tons of TVs and even a stage with a massive projector screen--definitely looks like a great spot to catch a game or some live entertainment. I need to come back on the weekend to experience the full energy, but the weekday visit was perfect for a chill lunch. The place was spotless and the service was quick and delightful. read more

Had a great lunch with friends at Moonshine Alley today. Cristian is a top notch server & bartender. He was by himself but balanced it beautifully. Very personable and checked in repeatedly to make sure we had everything we needed. Food was delicious. One friend is from "the south" and was very impressed with the southern flavor (including the tea). I had the "Ring of Fire" chicken wrap & it was perfect as were the hand cut fries. The others had the steak sandwich, strawberry salad, waffle fries. Everyone was happy & full from the generous portions. Thanks for a great first experience and thank Cristian for us. Looking forward to coming back. read more

They have private events and don't post signs...I walked a mile in the rain to go there and the staff was rude when they told me it was a private event and I asked for other dining in the area...gals at check in says all the guys checking IDs and they told me I'm in the high end district, there's no burgers and beer here. Excellent food and excellent atmosphere. I've been about 5 times, including both dinner and to "go out." They serve food until 10pm, then it turns into a bar. Came for the first time for food the other week. Service was on the slower side and food was entirely average and pricier than the quality. Valet option for dinner was a big plus because parking can be awful there. After dinner we met friends there for a drink and that's where this place shines. Live music is usually pretty good but the band this night took MANY breaks. (Definitely see Nothing Personal if they're playing, they always put on a great show!!) The moonshine flight was fun and I liked that it was customizable. Overall I'd come back with friends to see a band and have a few drinks, but probably skip the food here. read more

Providence is a cute little city with a bunch of flavor packed between their surroundings. Moonshine alley is all about the southern delectable bites. It looks like a great place to go in the evening for a drink or to listen to live music. When we went it was in the afternoon so obviously it was empty. I wish I knew our server's name because she was a sweetheart. If I ever come back down to PVD I would solely come back to this restaurant to see her lol. Her playful energy when it came to recommendations for food and overall process of serving our food etc made us all laugh. They had so many different things on the food and drinks on the menu. They also had gluten free sandwich buns for $2 extra which was important since one of my friends cannot have gluten or it's not pretty. Our server loved the cheese curds so when we got her glowing reviews about it we were even more excited to try. It was delicious, I mean who doesn't love dough and cheese. I was oddly craving fish and chips and so I got that and it was delicious as well and they had the vinegar for the fries which i was delighted about. A little annoying that they don't put pricing for any of their drinks on the menu especially when it's a group trip and you have to figure out numbers after. Overall a very solid spot to visit for good food and if you want to have a nice atmosphere in the evenings. $$ Food 7 Atmosphere 8 Service 10 What i got Fish & chips Crispy cheese curds Watermelon spritz read more

Stopped in after dinner on a Sunday for my first time. Live band which was really good! Able to get to the bar even tho a lot of people were there. Had reruns of games on. The college looking crowd. Hype crowd but no drama and still room to navigate and get around.. not packed in like sardines. The door stays open so everyone can breathe and we aren't sweating about to pass out. Not sure if it's only country themes but the band was punk rock and country vibes. They were really good! Had some bartenders walking the floor asking if we wanted drinks which was a nice touch instead of being backed up at the bar. It's a stand up vibe. Can't recall if I saw tables there. read more

Being a local Providence College for your friends and the game being televised on service I can't afford. I called around in this fucking joint says yeah they have it. 7 o'clock comes around for men with a guitar comes in. I ask are you gonna have the game on? Yes, we'll have it over here. Lie number two it's 715 and nothing has changed. I asked the bartender to cash me out. You don't have the game instead of cashing me out. She runs to the manager manager comes over and puts the game on what the fuck you guys have more PC logo shit Don't know they were playing well. So this place was never on my radar but it is now! Friday nights are when we go out to eat with our pre teen girls. Both wanted buffalo wings for dinner. We did not. So we had to find a compromise and a new place because that's just our thing. This is what we landed on. So happy we did too!! Our waitress was amazing! Loved her so much!! Because our girls are under 21, we had to leave by 9. I need to come back without them one weekend. Live music!!! And last nights band I was so disappointed to miss. No clue who they were but steel guitar, mandolin, violin... clearly we've been missing out! Now the food... nothing shy of flawless!! Brisket so tender no knife was needed. Perfectly creamy Mac n cheese. Crisp Brussels. Moist cornbread. And the girls loved their wings and want to go back. Moonshine sangria was a perfect blend and the moonshine flights are nothing to sleep on. Pass me that butter pecan in an entire bottle please and thank you! Dying to go back without kids!!! We ate here last night and will definitely be returning! Biggest complaint was how loud the music was. It was very difficult to hold any kind of a conversation so keep that in mind when visiting this restaurant!! You probably shouldn't come here looking for a salad or to cut calories. This venue has a stage, 2 bars, and lots of space. The staff was hustling on a Saturday night; they were efficient but not excessively friendly. We inquired about the sangria being served to others, were offered a sample and indulged. It was so good! Had some corn bread (yes, as good as it looks) and chicken tenders to round off the deliciously unhealthy meal. They also have moonshine flights, you don't see that too often. We got to enjoy some free live music by a solo performer which added great ambience to the evening. This was a pretty unique place to go close to downtown Providence, a good pick. read more

Great place near PPAC and Firewater activities. Cocktails were well prepared and food was good. We had apps earlier, so just had the mains. My buddy had fish and chips, which he liked but it was made with cod instead of catfish, so more New England than Nashville. His wife and me had their version of Nashville Hot Chicken, which was good chicken, but not really Nashville Hot Chicken. My son lives in Nashville so I eat Nashville hot chicken pretty often, which is made with a spicy rub mix, not a sauce out of a bottle. The staff was great! I wasn't thrilled that they have a 90 minute table limit. Especially since they had live music the Saturday we went. Overall, great pub with a little country feel, but I wouldn't say it really brings Nashville to Providence. read more

Fun ambiance and excellent food in downtown Providence. There is a lot to like about Moonshine Alley, but unfortunately...I have made two visits with subpar service. Servers simply don't return with drinks remaining unfilled, empty plates cluttering the table, and minimal follow up. Service and food were overall good given that it is a bar in downtown PVD that being said food and drinks are reasonable priced. They have plenty of wide screens to entertain yourself with. Last Saturday I visited Moonshine Alley for the first time and the Food was outstanding! I had the steak tips which had a terrific barbecue sauce. The atmosphere was very much the feel of a downtown Nashville restaurant & bar. The service was also excellent. Everyone in our party enjoyed their meals as well, Ribs (could be a larger portion) and a club sandwich (which I was told very good). They also had a unique and excellent dessert, which was a Smores cooking set up (as shown below)!! Unknowingly, this happened to be the one year anniversary of this place here in Providence. The moonshine drinks were good especially the peach yet that's where it ended. I have not ever until yesterday returned nachos, the cheese looked like it had been sitting there and the chicken was dry and not even hot (Luke warm at best). The worst nachos ever . We decided to give the food a chance . Now before any meal my girlfriend makes sure to state that no pickles are served with her meal, as she did in this case. The waitress brings out her food states "there are no pickles " and there is a pickle sitting right on the plate! The service was a flop and I doubt we will go back because of it. If you're a fan of Nashville's Honky Tonk Highway, you've gotta visit, Moonshine Alley! Came through on Easter Sunday, and they were one of the few places open. Stopped in for a cocktail and was just relaxing before our dinner plans. The interior was decorated with a rustic southern theme, complete with wooden barrels and mason jars lining the bar. The music selection was mostly live country concerts with large screens displaying them alongside some various sporting events. Didn't explore the menu much, but I did have their Nashville Bloody Mary, and this thing was the perfect appetizer cocktail before dinner. A must try as it comes with bacon, spicy chicken slider, and olive on their skewers. Swapped the vodka for bourbon as well. Great vibes and service. This place is soooo spacious. I'm not really a sports bar kind of person, but it manages to be stylish and modern.
