Had my nails done here for the first time this past Tuesday and I will definitely be going back for all my future fills, sets & pedicures! This place is a little hidden gem right off of Brea Blvd that isn't visible from the street but I am so happy I found it. I came in for a new full gel set of nails. My technicians name was Catherine and she is such a sweetheart. I really feel like she took her time on me and I wasn't feeling rushed like I do when I go to most other places. I got along with her really well and the other two workers who were in there as well were also friendly! She used a different technique on me that I've never had done before but that I loved! She shaped my nails by using a sticker and acrylic and without using a tip! My nails feel so strong compared from when I go to other places and I find my nails breaking after about a week and a half. Also I loved their color selection! They have tons of colors from gelish & essie for you to choose from that was more than any other place I have gone to. Not sure why they have four dollar signs? I am going thru chemo and subject to infection due to low immune system. Kim was very cognizant of my need for extreme sanitization and I felt very comfortable with her. She uses a plastic lined basin vs whirlpool chairs because they are very, very difficult to sanitize and I can't take that risk. She uses hospital grade sanitization products on her implements. I have always been apprehensive about pedicures and manicures because of all the horror stories of nail fungus and cuts from overly agressive nail clipping/filing. I was excited to see that Upscale Nail makes cleanliness their priority, as stated on their website. This gave me enough confidence to make an appointment for a mani/pedi for my wedding. Kim and Catherine are both fantastic! No bloody cuticles, disposable linings were used for the foot tub, and labeled containers separated clean and used nail files/equipment. Super cute decor, incredibly clean and an amazing selection of colors were the first things I noticed. The actual pedicure was phenomenal! Kim is wonderful, she is very good at her calling. For the first time in years I don't have to keep on asking her for what I like. She got it the first time. As well, for the first time in years I have what appears a natural curve in my nails - she just gets it! Ok now let's talk about Ken. Ladies, Ken is the man when it comes to pedicures. What a wonderful gentleman he is, but I will never go anywhere else for my pedicures. He is thorough and I love spending time with him, he is like an old friend, but he really loves what he does and it is quite apparent. He takes time when he works on my feet and I have to say in the past 6 months, he has really helped my feet. The products they use at the salon for both hands, nails and feet are exceptional. They know a lot about nail care and have helped me by using (and not charging extra) professional "Footlogic" products and as well, selling me these products for my nail fungus. I have seen such a change in my toenails, fearing they would never be right again, but slowly but surely I have hope. Nail heaven!!! First, let me start by saying I am extremely picky about nail service and hygiene. The whole idea of spa tubs make me cringe...so unsanitary!!! This is a small, upscale (thus the name) nail salon that does impeccable work! Kenneth and Catherine are amazing manicurists and Catherine also does acrylics the proper way (without a nail tip, but instead by free-hand molding the nail). Only high-end products are used to ensure the best results and nail health. The atmosphere is calm and relaxing with beverages and snacks while you get pampered. I can't say enough good things about this little shop. In fact, I almost didn't want to review it as more people would come and make appointments more difficult. Kim is the best nail person in OC! If she's busy, then it's because she's in demand! But it is WORTH THE WAIT!!!! People want to settle for a cheap pedicure BUT they forget that anything they want added is extra but NOT here! Kim rolls the price into one and I pay LESS at the Upscale Nail than I did at the little cheap place that kept adding things that I get for FREE at Kim's. And she doesn't shuffle me out the door. I get a full hour to myself with no timers or ladies watching the clock. It is an EXPERIENCE! I will never go to another nail salon. And they have people there to do eyebrows and facials too.
