Very expensive! Staff doing my nails wasn't friendly at all. It was my first time. I drove an hour to get there only because someone gave me a gift card. I don't usually like to try new places. The gift card was $65 that barely covered my nails. I got a fill on a GX set and added can eye design on every finger. The cat I designed alone was an additional $20. Then I got a pedicure with gel. She did a horrible job as you can see in the photos. It was an extra $15 for the gel. That's ridiculous. She put three coats of the nail polish on my toes and didn't even ask me, typically they only put two. You say due to their prices and unfriendly staff, I wouldn't go back. As a man the Classic medi-pedi combo was relaxing and just what my hands and feet needed. Buff shine is so good. It was my first time here but I heard they got new chairs and they were super comfy! The owner personally greets everyone at the door and works hard to make sure there's never a long wait. My daughters and i really enjoy the quality and service you get here at Sessy. You are so well taken care of and leave exactly with what you expect. They have every type of nail service you can hope for. Maybe a little higher in price than other salons in the area but absolutely worth the difference. This was my first pedicure in like 10 years, I came in expecting bare minimum but came out with physical cuts. The nail tech was buffing my nails so hard that I started bleeding. She did it on 2 of my toes. The polish job wasn't great so I asked for a redo and my toe kept bleeding and the blood was smearing on the polish. The nail tech never waited for the color to dry and put the clear coat on - leaving uneven clumps and it looks horrible. As a professional nail tech, these people need to know the basics and learn how to not cut peoples skin. My feet still hurt days later. read more

I wanted to like this place. The guy at the front is very personable and kind, however my first visit the quality of the nail polish and finish wasn't very good. The entire polish of one nail came off after it dried within the first 24 hours. This time around, the service was pretty unprofessional. The woman doing my manicure was distracted almost the entire time whether it was talking to the other nail technician or by her phone. She was on and off her phone and kept checking it in the middle of doing my nails, which also isn't sanitary. The finish came out okay, however the back of my nails are a little sloppy. Also, at then end the manicurist said okay all finished without applying cuticle oil and I had to ask if she was going to apply it, because the finish at that point was dry and not done properly. Not to mention all other places add the oil and lotion without me having to ask. Then she had me just put my hand out to apply the oil after she already cleaned up her station and on the way out she asked if I wanted lotion and just had a bottle in her hand as I was standing to walk out. Very lazy and unprofessional. When paying $150 for nails, the service should be much better. I'm quite disappointed. read more

Alas, after searching high and low, I've finally discovered my nail spot. I have tried several spots in Placentia, Brea, Yorba Linda, and Fullerton during the past 3 years. Even when I got to Sessy Nails, it took me 6 visits to find the nail tech that handles my nails with gentle, and delicate love. I love Tiffany. I started coming to Sessy Nails to follow a different nail tech when she started working there. Eventually, the owner, Ly, started doing my nails and honestly, nobody else can compare. My dip nails NEVER lift and my nails are now even stronger than ever. When you walk through the door, Tom greets you with a warm welcome and assists you with color selection. In the past few years that I've been going here (started post-covid), the atmosphere and environment is different from other salons I've been to - the owners Tom and Ly truly treat their staff like family. They have a great sense of humor and there is constant laughter. It's such a feel good place to be at where you also get great work done on your nails. 10/10 recommend! read more

I've been here once and I'm going to become a regular customer. Unfortunately I got sick and became unfortunately deadly ill so I haven't been able to go back for my fill on my full set French nails nor my pedicure but I definitely am as soon as I'm well. I love the service from the owner who is very nice and accommodated my crazy schedule that day as well as the service I received from both manicurists who did my nails at separate times. I'm not the type of person that likes to be in a rush and get both services done at the same time. It just takes away from the enjoyment and they relaxation of both services. You may not agree but I'm not the type of person that likes to be it rushing through everything. I like to kick back relax and enjoy the ride in life. I know at times you got to run errands and kill two birds with one stone so that I understand if you've got a younger family but sometimes you just got to take time for yourself. I was able to get an appointment the same day, the guy in the front desk was very friendly and helpful picking a color and designating a nail artist. They had a lot of options for nail color and gel. The service was okay, the water to soak my hands in was ice cold felt like it could have been more warm. I got the deluxe combo for a pedicure and manicure and it was $60. $15 extra for gel on my toes and $15 extra for gel on my nails, plus an additional $10 for the design on two of my fingers. Super disappointed that my dip powder manicure lasted 5 days. For a $50 service (plus tip), it's not worth it. Super whatever experience, the owner was great when I called in, got me in quickly, the lady who did my nails was very careful, the polish job was just OK(the clear gel is covering my cuticles). --I asked for somebody else to do my feet because the lady started wiping the cuticles she was cutting off onto the top of my foot, and she wasn't doing it gently, so the tool was digging into my skin. As soon as I asked for a different pedicure tech, my experience went downhill, when I checked out, the owner didn't even speak to me, just told me the total. I was super excited to try this place out due to all of the great reviews, and it being next to my house, honestly, I'm extremely disappointed in my visit . Waste of $55. I'm pretty disappointed. I've been going to Sessy for about 5 years and the last two times I've been, the level of service/care has drastically decreased. They seem busier and more packed just funneling people through. Tom is still very personally and sweet but it's definitely noticeable that they're understaffed. Which is the case in a lot of places right now but then don't take so many clients or have better customer service. The last two times I went, a part of the skin on the back of my heel was rubbed off with the pumice stone. I flinched both times and both different nail techs. The first nail tech apologized that I flinched but the second nail tech didn't notice/care and kept scrubbing until I looked down, put my had down and said "ouch, it hurts." This most recent time I went, my nail tech did not say one word to me and looked at me as if I was supposed to know what to do next. She kept yanking me closer to her instead of her moving to me or asking me to move forward. After she was done scrubbing, I could feel the burn when I put my foot back in the water and knew that it was cut. I kept looking down to see how bad it was and she didn't even notice that that the nail tech doing my mani asked me about it. She intervened with the pedi nail tech after she was done with my mani and brought her back over to show her after she took a look at it. It was then, and only then, that she gave the most half hearted apology and walked off. I still tipped her, still paid full price, and still thanked her and everyone there as I understand the struggles of the service industry and how much of a difference it could make. But I will not be returning to Sessy nails again. My daughter was with me getting a mani/pedi and she loves patterns and interchanging colors and was jazzed on being there as it's a rare treat. When her nail tech came to do her mani/pedi, she told my daughter that that wouldn't look good and heavily coerced her to agree to just do one color. Prior to that, Tom had come over and while gesturing toward her and speaking to a Caucasian family of 4 said, "The reason I'm moving her is that she has an appointment coming in and wanted ti give her something fast." That was my daughter's nail tech. And I slightly intervened for her to speak up but also left it as a teaching moment. We later talked about the disappointment of not getting what she intended. But the mother in me was pissed off that my baby girl didn't get to fully enjoy her treat. We came home and fixed it. The attached picture to this review is a day after the appt. Again, I'm sad to say that I will be taking my business elsewhere from now on. They do have good nail techs there. Or had possibly? Because I've had really good experiences there before. If you're a regular and have a nail tech, stick to them. I was always a walk in and had rarely had a bad experience until these last two times. So maybe not great for walk ins. read more
