I've visited this location several times because it's the closest UPS Store to me. Unfortunately, the customer service has consistently felt cold and unwelcoming. On multiple visits, I noticed employees spending time on their phones while customers were waiting. This location on Falls Rd in Potomac should be run out of business. They are literally the worst UPs I have ever been too. Their customer service sucks. This ignorant stupid woman wanted to charge me for TAPE and not to mention being completely rude! I witnessed two people - maybe husband and wife, sitting on their azzes, drinking tea and eating ramen noodles in the corner and don't even stand to greet customers. If I can give negative 5 stars... This UPS store being dishonest for some expensive returning item of Amazon. I actually already got Amazon refund on the same day by scanning at Falls Road UPS, but 20 days later Amazon told me they didn't receive my item. I went there with my barcode, but the woman said I had never dropped anything at their place with conclusion " You are confused" My son who went dropped the item with me was super frustrating about such darkness. I promise him I will try my best to expose this case in public. This is a Franchise UPS store and runs by a family. I had 20 years happy experience with Shady Grove UPS. I had a really disappointing experience here. The woman who helped me was extremely rude for no reason. I understand there might be policies in place, but there's a way to communicate respectfully -- and that wasn't it. This is a decent location for UPS. The staff is friendly and efficient. This is one of the local UPS stores I use to drop off packages. Getting in and out is easy at this store, even with social distancing norms. The parking lot is a bit of a pain since it is always busy here. Terrible attitude and terrible customer service. I ordered several hundred dollars worth of wine, which was sent from the winery in California. Without contacting me, they simply sent it back after five days (store policy), rather than holding onto it for me. Now I don't know where my wine is, and I am out several hundred dollars. Customer service is critically important and lacking at this location. I was charged $100 to overnight a package that was time sensitive. Called and asked why the timeframe was not met and was told I made the mistake when in fact I know exactly what I asked for. Very patient, professional and honest staff. For the first time at a UPS store, they took the time to explain the different options and rates for the package I have mailed many times before compared to other locations where I have paid much more for unnecessary, additional costs. I found this location by searching on Google, but had a very difficult time finding the actual storefront. The shopping center has not given a unit number. Stay away! This store charges more than other UPS stores--more for packing, more for shipping. Ridiculously more! Take a few extra minutes. I drive to the store on Westlake, next to Montgomery Mall. The worst service I have ever experienced in all my years of mailing. This was my first time going to this particular UPS store and I must say I was SO disappointed. Not only did the clerk have NO IDEA what she was doing, but she charged me $1.99 for using a piece of scotch tape. SO rude and negligent. Totoally disorganized and clutter was everywhere. Went in to print some forms from my IPhone and was very surprised with their attitude towards customers. Not very helpful and completely take advantage of everyone coming in looking for service. I wanted to print some forms left paying $5.00 for 2 minutes on the internet. And still didn't get what I needed. I would STRONGLY RECOMMEND NOT USING THIS UPS STORE for any kind of service. Hello! Whenever my husband brings in an Amazon package for shipping--voila! No problem! When the wife brings the package, always problem and must be sent home to redo or pay $7-15 fee. I noticed that the store had a 2-star rating when I looked up the location. I thought how bad can it be. It is THAT BAD. First when I called and asked where they were located, she did not even say they were inside a mall. I drove around the outside shops and walked for 10 minutes in the rain trying to find the location and finally I asked an employee in the bank where they were located and she said INSIDE the mall. How hard would it have been to let me know that when I called for directions. Then, when I went inside she said the price would go up 100% more than the price she quoted me on the phone because the box was "oblong" . I had a long object that I was sending that extended beyond the box that I had and the box was not perfectly rectangular-the extention was about 1-2" narrower than the rest of the box. I have been going to this UPS store since 2013 for either notary services or amazon returns. The staff is always courteous and efficient. They change $7 for one signature notary service and $.25 per photocopy page. These are reasonable rates. read more

I have always found the staff in this UPS store to be not-very-helpful & more expensive than most... But the crowning blow came when they charged me $14.00 for notary signatures on 2 simple one-page docs where the notary block had already been typed in. Sadly the Citibank next door was closed when I arrived. I did say to her, the Citibank next door would never charge such an amount. But she claimed the bank next door would not notarize that type of document (car transfer) that they only did bank documents. That's just simply not true. Besides, I have never paid more than $1.00-2.00 for someone to notarize my signature...it's just not a complicated transaction, no matter how hard you might try to make it such. This is the shadiest UPS store I have ever visited. Unlike every other UPS store in the area, these people tack on bogus fees. Essentially, my Amazon Prime returns were not free here. Which means it is actually worth the gas to drive a little farther to another UPS store, to avoid this pace. An incredible act of thievery. I took a prepackaged item into this store to ship from Potomac to Miami. They charged me $182 dollars to ship it via ground service with delivery in 5 or 6 days. Afterwards I kept thinking that the amount seemed ridiculous. After checking the UPS site and calling UPS customer service it turns out that the cost should have been less that $70!! I've now had to register a complaint with UPS and place the charge in dispute with my credit card company. This store has a horrible reputation for simply charging whatever they want and clearly they get away with it all too often. Last year I had a packaged shipped by them and damaged and I had to pester them for 6 months to get paid for the broken item. This time she clearly saw me coming and decided to make up some of what they had to pay out. read more

Pretty standard stuff: a staff that ignores you/knows nothing EXCEPT the ridiculous prices and tries to charge you for every little thing. Need to borrow a pen? Deceptive and dishonest business. I called in advance to inquire about having documents witnessed and notarized. Was told the fee would be $7 per notary stamp. When I arrived I was informed there was also a $3 per document witness fee. Since I had 2 docs notarized and 3 witnessed I expected to pay 2 x 7 + 3 x 3 = $23. Instead the fee was $38 because each doc had two signatures instead of one. I was not informed of this until after all docs were signed. This is deceptive and dishonest. When leaving the store, my wife was assaulted by one of the employees. A police report has been filed and criminal charges will be filed. read more

I logged into yelp for the first time in over year to warn customers about this store. I mailed a package from here and they charged me $132. When I called customer service to investigate they said the package was listed as costing $60. That was the price I should've paid according to set rates I looked at after mailing it. Before I spoke with customer service, I spoke with a woman at the counter who made some excuse that the difference was because the rate I paid was"guaranteed" - except when I got home and checked so was the $60 rate! What I found when calling was that apparently these UPS stores are contracted out or something. I never had a problem with UPS but this store is unbelievable. I was there one other time to fax 2 pages in the US - $10! But no price list or anything on the wall. I cannot say enough to avoid the place. Read the other reviews!! They are all consistent! I use this store frequently as it is very convenient to my home in Potomac. The staff has always been respectful, friendly and helpful, especially with shipping. I shop competitively, and have found that prices are almost identical to other UPS stores that are less convenient. I would recommend this business highly. read more

nothing but lies. total scam. took a pair of child skis in to ship from MD to CO last year, asked for a free estimate. lady measured skis, checked their computer, said it would be around $18. I said "is that the total?" she said yes. I said ok, then we do paperwork, she types on the computer and then says "that's $31". I said what? you said the total was $18? she RUDELY said, "what? do you think the packaging is free?", I said never mind, and then she charged me $3 because she had printed the shipping label and said that's the min charge fee to return the postage. she wouldn't give me the skis back until I paid her $3. TOTAL BULLSHIT!!! I wait a year. Today I took 3 boxes in to get a price on shipping. They were all aluminum cake pans my customers had bought. all the boxes were big roughly 12 x 14 and 12x15 inch size boxes, lightweight, but big boxes going to OH, TX, and NH. I double checked that estimates were free, she said absolutely. (This was the exact same woman from last year too so I was going to be doubly certain.) the prices came in at $18, $19 and $12.50 respectively. I commented that it was alot more than the $8 my customers had each paid in shipping. She said her computer showed that USPS would be about $18 for each box. Then she said that it was probably because they were all going to rural addresses. I pointed out that the OH box was a street address in Cincinnati. I then said thanks, but I was going to need to take them to the post office to get a definite quote, and that I'd probably end up losing a few dollars having to go ahead and use their flat rate shipping. her reply, "they don't make a flat rate box this big" I said, "actually YES they do, THESE are the medium Priority flat rate shipping boxes. I just wrapped them in white paper to hide the USPS Priority lettering and markings." I picked up my boxes and walked out. Went straight over to the USPS Potomac branch across the street and paid $8.60, $8.40, and $9.10 2 day PRIORITY MAIL for each box. I should have gone here first, but I thought because the boxes were so big, they would be expensive to ship. Lesson learned. These UPS people are, at best, incompetent and ill-informed. At worst, they are nothing but lying scammers out to take customers' money no matter how they have to do it. GO ANYWHERE BUT THE POTOMAC MD UPS STORE!!!! read more

These people are very unhelpful. I mailed two packaged to my daughter. While not financially valuable, they contanied memories from her wedding. I did package the boxes but they sealed them for delivery. One of the inexpenseive lanterns broke. Appearently, the packages made it to the destination city but because something sounded broken, the package was sent back to this store. The store employee called and told me that I had to repackage it and then pay to resend it. I told her that I work long hours and asked her just to remove the lantern and resend the package. She would not do so . It was not inexpensvie to send the packages the first time but the employee insisted that I had to pay to resend. Guess what? The package is back at our home. I will use a different delivery method to get the package to my daurghter. Do not use this store. They are unfriendly and way too expensive. read more
