I needed pens for work and stopped in to do just that. Every isle is neatly shelved and easy to find what you need. Their staff members are nice and ready to help when you walk in. This particular day was especially busy with back to school shoppers. The cashier was very nice she helped me find my Staples membership, which I discovered that I had been a Staples member since 2010 after giving her like 4 different before she found my account. I walked over to the cashier and asked if someone will be able to help us and was told I should try tomorrow. Waste of a trip, coupled by terrible customer service. I have good experiences at most staples locations, However this location is top notch. I utilized their printing services, because I didn't wanna drain my printer at home. I needed a work manual, printed and hole punched placed in a binder. I needed this done in 48 hours. Most places on the past, have failed me with promised times or messed up, in following simple instructions. Not only.did they made my request happen, they did this a day earlier, even offer to bring it out to my car, because it was like 100+ out They always have good employees that are always willing to help. First off let me be clear, the employees here are friendly and courteous. The hours of business are convenient and it's the only office supply shop in the area. It is clean and organized and well lit. That said, printers rarely work and staff are not trained for the non routine. Staff are not knowledgeable about the products. Inventory management is very poor ( just look at all the empty spaces in inks or electronics or paper goods) and the answer "you can get it on line" is specious if not insulting-- of course I can get it on line , I come to a store to get it now. Even if they have your item there is no such thing as a quick stop at this staples. The transactional part of the trip ("here is my order" or "here is my money" ) is sooo sloooow. What business model has shopping fast / payment slow? They keep my business because there is no nearby competition. All that said, the employees are friendly and courteous -- I do question training (I know more about their stock than they do), inventory mgmt, efficiency , and giving a rip about more that gathering my data and scanning bar codes. read more

Printer kept failing. Employees were nice but the printer simply didn't work. It ran out of paper halfway through one job and then cancelled the job before the employees could fix it, then it jammed the second time through. When finally printed, the papers were not 3-hole punched (I confirmed the setting was right three times before submitting the job because it hadn't worked the previous time either). I came here for a big, expensive job specifically because I didn't want to have to deal with punching those holes myself. Useless. read more

I needed to have some printing done on short notice. I thought I would have to put the order in and wait a few days. When I got to the Gaithersburg, MD Staples Printing center, I was shocked at the entire experience - & and in a very good way! Jabal (definitely made sure to get his name) greeted me and asked how could he help. He explained the simple process and immediately started the work. There were multiple other customers, so I thought there is no way this will be a "stay and wait on it" order. I purchased some folders while I waited before checking in to see when I should come back. When I checked back a few minutes later, my order was ready, as were the others' orders who had been there. Not sure how that happened, but great service deserves recognition! Thank you, Jabal! I will certainly go back there next time. read more

"Flip a new page, introduce you to some new things and upgrade you" I usually go to Fed Ex office when I need to print off anything or use any copiers. I always knew that staples had like a print center, but there was no place to sit and work and the space seemed small and crowded. This newer store, I had no idea existed right off of exit 10 (Clopper), well this B has a whole long conference table with large comfortable chairs. You can plug your USB'yonce into the copiers and printers and print directly (just like Fed Ex Office). But the greatest thing is that their print center will do big jobs for you, and I saw a sign advertsin making posters abouts 3 feet by 1.5 feet for like 10 bucks. Sold. Excellent service overall; I've stopped here 1/2 dozen times in the last year and the staff are always friendly and helpful. Their copy/print area rocks - the staff will help you get set up with a free Staples card which you can replenish and use for all your print/copy needs. Staples nearly got a direct deposit of my money my first year of teaching when I needed to buy files, file folders, labels, crates, a hole puncher, stapler, pencil sharpener, and many other items to get my classroom going. Now I go there once in a while to check out organizational items or whatever I might need. They do have good sales once in a while. I got a few of these plastic sliding drawers for $1.50 over the summer. Makes me cringe to think of how much more money I spent at the Container Store for the same thing. I also picked up a free usb flash drive during their Teacher's Appreciation Week at the end of summer. Apparently, if you have a Teacher's Rewards card, any phone/online orders have FREE shipping. In addition, you're supposed to get some money back on purchases when you use your card. read more

This is by far my favorite Staples store and usually my 1st stop for technology and office needs. The management is helpful and accessible...a lot more than you can say about competitors. They have a good inventory and can get items quickly when they are out of stock. I won't give high marks for technical knowledge as they are like any of these chain stores....they can read the labels but really don't have deep technical knowledge of the items they sell. However, you don't have to wait to speak to someone and they do their best to help. Staples has a great coupon based rewards program but I really wish they would go back to dollar matching program as they had in the past (this only applies to printing and toner purchases). The service here was so good that I actually registered to sing its praises. Over a period of three days, needed a variety of items and some all-over-the-place copy center work. The second day I was there, needing to fix one item that had been done wrong (easy error), redo another and bring a third to be started, I found the marvelous Shelly running the copy center and she deserves big kudos ... not only was she amazingly patient with me and my order, she was actually working with three customers simultaneously ... politely, accurately, patiently. She's fantastic. (She ALSO helped me find an item I'd been desperately searching for which was hiding in plain site). There was also a young man named Kebba I dealt with picking up a (large) online item I purchased and he was an absolute doll and incredibly helpful and friendly. I admit I generally have been going to the other Staples (Germantown/Neelsville) since it's a little closer to me and the stores I do regular household shopping in, but from now on THIS is MY Staples store. read more

Customer service here is terrible. There is no one ever around and even when they are, they are rude. One guy in particular who has shoulder length black hair treated his employee so terrible and so rude. He threw a pack of sticky notes at her and demanded she put them away immediately. Even she was shocked.This was all in front of customers. He proceeded to treat my mother and I very rudely and rolled his eyes when we asked to use our coupons. Wouldn't recommend going to this Staples, unless you don't care about how people treat you. Actual office supply is fine, sometimes a little messy but usually stocked up. read more

Staff is helpful. Store is well organized, and clean and has tons of good stuff. A number of times, I've hunted around for a product then been surprised to find it at Staples.com. I order sent to the store, for free shipping. They don't seem to filter the online reviews, so it's more accurate than stores that do. - Computer & TV stands online are much more extensive than Best Buy, Walmart, Target, Bed Bath & B, and most everyone. Office Depot had some interesting ones online too. - An oil spray can. You'd think HD would be the place. The only place I found the specific design I needed, was Staples online -- and it was a good price. - Office supplies - a high quality hand held pencil sharpener. Finally my colored pencils aren't getting eaten up by every other hand held sharpener I've bought. So far, so good! read more

Staples can be addicting. Its surprising how many things you can find there that you'd really find interesting. I go there for both business and personal items. My kids (elementary and middle school age) like going to Staples, too. They have coffee pods and cleaning supplies for the break room, ink cartridge recycling for which you get credit, and deliver for free usually the next day. read more

I come here weekly to drop off packages. The parking lot kind of is a mess and the service can be slow but all in all, it is an ok love the store. I needed a laptop charger and went to Staples after checking on their website that they stocked it. When We got there, we could not find it the shelf and got the attention of a young man behind the counter. He tried to help but informed us that he was new and contacted Ali. Ali was not willing to help and told us to check the other stores. We asked him if he can call or give us the number to the other stores, he literally walked away saying he does not have their number. The Indian woman employee who witnessed the whole thing tried to help but I was too irked and did not want to spend a penny there. Totally a jerk and don't know why he is in customer service. I am beginning to realize why my reviews are so low. I guess being older allows me to remember when businesses actually wanted my money. This Staples is an awesome example of everything I hate in modern business. It got two stars because they actually have some of the things you need in the store, although their Online Marketplace accounts for 99% of the goods that they list that you just can't pick up. I went in for copier paper, their website showed its $16 for a case. No that's not the price, open up the items scroll down shift left push a couple buttons and magically there's a $42 rebate so the price you pay is $57.99. The salesman couldn't understand why this bothers me you get the money back and it takes less than 3 minutes to fill out the rebate stuff on the online site and you should get your money back in 6 to 8 weeks. I understand was internet shopping people are trying to scam you to get you into the store however instead of buying 10 cases of paper I bought one ream so I can get the job I needed to get done done and went to Costco. All that aside, the thing that bothered me the most was the way every employee in the store made me feel like I was inconveniencing them. I had to call the salesperson 3 times because he was listening to the Bluetooth speakers at the little display and didn't really want to help anybody. The cashier when she looked up was pleasant of course she didn't look up ever again. When I left she just reach your hand out and expected me to take the receipt. With so many businesses competing for in-person Shoppers combined with the ability to get anything you want delivered free off the internet, I don't understand why stores like this exist. I have no idea why you would go into a store to be treated like crap to pay more for something then you could by ordering it through some faceless site on the internet. staples is staples. but if go anywhere near closing time at this one they will turn the lights on you expecting you to leave exactly at 9 no later or you'll be shunned. they probably will have what you need. but do not expect any kind of good customer service. the lady at the checkout did even say hello or here is your change, she never said a word. the guy who helped me said they don't have the chair i was looking for that was on sale, which was posted at the front of the store. "we don't have that here" like if i was looking for milk at staples. i didn't get any one of their names the never introduced themselves of even bothered to try and up sale my already expensive chair. one of the worst experiences at a staples in my life. read more
