I wrote a review 3 weeks ago and I dont know how to edit or remove it, but my laptop does not work. Now I have money that isn't a problem, but good quality service is hard to find. I called tecky multiple times telling them my laptop was working for a few minutes and then died completely. I've used 2 different new chargers and it still doesn't work. They want to Charge me again, I already paid $200 for what they said was just plugging it in and it worked for them. When I first called back they didn't try to come and look at the laptop again. And today when I called they basically said it was my fault and hung up on me. They hung up on me. I gave them a chance, wasted $200 dollars and now they want me to pay more for the same problem. Unless you have a degree in computers, even if you do, don't waste your time with them. Unprofessional and a Waste of Time. I even gave them a $18 tip!! Don't waste your time!!!

For my most recent repair, they picked up my macbook from my home, replaced the battery, and delivered it back to me in, no exaggeration, 2 hours start to finish. (I didn't pay any extra rush charge or even say I was in a hurry or anything.) I don't think I've had a repair anywhere else that was faster than like 2-3 days before I got the computer back. Another time I asked about a very specialized problem that they don't deal with, and they were totally upfront about not doing it and directed me to someone who could help. Also a great sign. And both repairs are still working great, so good quality as well. I'm going to be sticking with Techy for any future repairs!

Yes, I could do it myself but it would take me days to work through all the settings and tweak and tweak until everything functioned smoothly. Called in advance to ask about how I needed to prepare my computer for servicing and took appropriate steps. Typed up and printed out my contact information should the technician need to ask any questions along the way along with explicit services I needed done: (1) annoying malware removal (2) hard drive memory reallocation. Neither was done. To be clear, the malware was pretty minor - limited to Chrome web browser - I just didn't have the time to hunt down the source myself. Also, the company lists "PC & Mac Virus Removal-Data Recovery-Repair Service" AS PART OF THEIR TAGLINE (google: "computerplus georgetown dc") but couldn't remove even a minor browser malware. The sad part was when I came to pick up my laptop, the person at the register just took my money without blinking an eye and no attempt was made to rectify or refund the $200 I donated to their business. At least a "sorry, we couldn't fix your machine" and I would've respected their integrity - but I have little evidence of that from my own personal experience. My advice, is that if they quote you anything above $125 dollars and there is nothing critical on your machine you need to retrieve, you should seriously consider just buying an old refurbished or desktop computer for $200-300 instead and starting fresh. That is ultimately the path I took. Computers these days are pretty cheap as long as you're open-minded to the brand, device, and model.

Mohammed fixed it quickly and for a good price but for some odd reason, the phone just did not work with any 3rd party screens. So he put the original back on and fully refunded me even though he spent considerable time trying to fix the phone. 5 stars for doing the right thing and helping me figure out the best course of action for my phone.

Two of the five pads were also removed in the process. I reached out to a few businesses on Yelp to see if anyone can solder a new battery connector and the amount of people who tried to highball me was ridiculous. They tried to charge me the cost of a whole new motherboard. Gale, from GB Wireless, responded to me with a decent price so I drove over there the next morning they were open. Since it wasn't just a solder service but also him having to figure out where the ripped pads lead, I had to pay a little more but it was worth it. Gale was very friendly and was great at explaining what he would need to do. He gave me the estimate and said it would be ready the next day. A few hours later, I get a call saying he was able to fix it and my Switch is working perfectly. I appreciate service like this. As the customer, it just feels like they go above and beyond. In fact, moments after I left the store my iPad was having the same issues it was having before I brought it in. That same night the iPad cracked...again. I had the iPad for almost a year and have dropped it and it NEVER cracked. I brought it back to the store, I expressed my issue with an employee of the store and was basically told that they were not going to fix the issue. After a passive verbal exchange the police were called. He ended up negotiating with the officers instead of the customer and while he brought the repair price down significantly, I was still expected to pay for the hopes that my iPad would be fixed. This was also after I was given two different quotes over the phone. The employee on duty was belligerent and disrespectful as I tried to talk through my issue. Do not come here. Do not come here.
