If you can avoid it I suggest it, they are always super busy and rarely friendly. I get it, it's the only location in the area but honestly it may be worth it to drive out. Sidenote: everything is an additional fee so make sure you know what's needed prior to arrival so you don't have to stand in line get out and re-stand in line. They need a help person when you enter like MVA . read more

I needed to ship a small package containing a pair of stereo speakers (5 inch mid-ranges ) to be fixed (refoamed) to Kentucky. They needed to be bubble wrapped and fitted back in the box that I provided. Probably take a few minutes, at most, to prepare the package. I was told, by a pleasant UPS employee, that the cost to prepare and ship the package would be approximately $150 to $175, or probably more. I told him that was insane. He smiled and agreed. I left, bought some bubble wrap, prepared the package and went to the post office - shipping cost, $14.95. Just sayin', next time you count out USPS, like I initially did - not so fast! read more

I would suggest this store hire more help. I dropped off a return order to Verizon, got a tracking receipt. The next day the box was on my front porch??? Not sure how it got there - the tracking number clearly shows it was dropped off at the store and enroute to where ever. (according to the tracking info it never left the store.) When I took the package back to the store the next day to find out why it was at my house, the CSR at the counter told me I would need to get a new label from Verizon. He could not help me. I know he may not have considered my time is valuable, but it is. I drove to a Verizon store and got a new label went to another UPS store - that was FAR more efficient with a DIY scanning system. I spent over an hour driving around to complete a simple task. Save your time and money and just find another UPS store. read more

Olney store is horrible! Miserable workers who make Amazon returns a nightmare! Awful. Rude. Disrespectful. This is my second bad experience at the store. The first time I just marked it up to the guy having a bad day, but he's clearly just rude! The franchisee should take a look at the other comments because we're all posting the same thing about the same guy! Get your stuff together. Will never go back! How bad do you have to be to make the post office look good?! Zero stars!! read more

I had a package wrongfully shipped to my address, and was trying to figure to return to sender. Tried to return a package at this location and was encouraged to "just throw it away." When I refused to throw away someone else's mail, and told them if that was the policy, that they could do it - it resulted in the employees following me out the door, yelling at me, and throwing the box. It was shipped back to my house, and when we tried to take it back the following day, the manager basically just responded with "well you aren't getting the answer you want, so you're being difficult." Absolutely horrendous experience. read more

If I could give the UPS Store Olney negative stars I would. Horrible customer service. There were at least 20 people in line wrapped around the store and only one person behind a register assisting customers. The other employee present was boxing up packages and refused to open a register to help customers. The line moved at a snail's pace. What customer wants to wait in line for an hour when all they need to do is open another register? I wish I had taken a photo of all of the people wrapped around the store. The employee in the picture "James" was particularly rude and dismissive. There are too many other stores that understand what good customer service is for me to go back to this horrible UPS Store Olney location. I asked "James" for his last name and he refused to give it to me - he claimed he was the owner of the franchise. I found this hard to believe because an owner would've never acted so unprofessionally and disrespectful to customers. As you can see from his name tag there's only first names which gives no accountability, thus leading to the abhorrent customer service. It was so bad that I'm sure James will probably reply to this review in a rude and disrespectful way rather than apologizing. Does James look pleasant to you? I see that there are many other negative Google reviews about this particular store and James. James needs to take training in how to provide decent customer service. Just look at him - would you want to go to a store and have to deal with him? read more

This UPS is well managed. In particular, Spencer is fantastic-- he is courteous, efficient, and customer-focused!

Horrible customer service. Went for notary and the man there was extremely rude, said he wouldn't witness it, and it was going to be about 30 dollars, and cash only! Never going to that store for any reason! If you need a notary, go to M&T bank, it's free. read more

I had 4 items for Amazon's no package return. I brought in the items with the correct QR codes. The manager said that he had to box the items up to return them to Amazon and the charge would be 12 dollars. During that time, the other clerk was taking items back with no box and even loose items. I said the email said my returns were no package returns. He insisted that he had to charge for boxing the items up even though I brought the original shipping boxes. I was rushed so I was going to use my credit card. He said "I'll do it for 10.00 if you pay me cash." He wasn't going to give me a receipt but I insisted, he reluctantly issued a receipt. When I had time later in the day and contacted Amazon, they said that he should not have charged me because the return were no package returns and the fact that I brought them back in their package should not have incurred an additional charge. Amazon said that they will file a complaint against this UPS store and check if the merchant will give me an adjustment towards a replacement item. The guy might be convenient, but he is dishonest... read more

Yikes! Customer service could be a little better. Like maybe a Hi when you walk in. Nope, the guys were so into their packing of boxes it's like I was invisible. Work stations are not really available and they charge you for tape. So, if you're sending something save yourself money and have it ready to go or you'll feel robbed walking out of the store. Wanna print your label? Yeah you get charged for that too. Ridiculously over priced. Had I not been on a time crunch I would have gone else where. After the guys stopped working on their project I was approached with human interaction. He was nice just late on the hello and help. read more

Just not a friendly place at all. Always busy, not enough people working. They rush you which I hate.

I remember when ups would smile and tape your small box and tell you to have a nice day. Now? No. They will not touch it if not already taped....unless you want to pay $5. Another one bites the dust. Seems like new franchisees read more

Excellent customer service. It's a convenient location and has friendly staff. I strongly recommend this UPS store.

I have used this store on many occasions but was caught short recently when the young man at the counter told that it would cost $5 for him to put a piece, one piece, of tape on the package I planned to drop off. I declined to pay him and went to another UPS store in MoCo where they provided the tape for no fee and did it with a smile and even said "Thank You." I have to guess the store in Olney isn't interested in keeping its customers. And, I know I will be taking my business to the UPS store in Potomac. read more

This is my most trusted location of the UPS Store. It is also the one closest to me but I have been to several others. The staff here is polite and efficient. I appreciate that they always take my pre-paid returns with no hassle. They even let you just drop them off without waiting in line. I've also used them for various printing and copying jobs and haven't experienced a single problem. I'm grateful to have them in my community. read more

I was sending back package the had free shipping .UPS charged me 4.00 simply to print the label which was extreme.

The employees at this place pretty much what they have to do and that's fine. They do their job and well i think. But sometimes i have been in there and even when they aren't busy, they seem indifferent at best. I know that isn't against the law or some might not call it bad customer service, but at least act like you want to be there. There is one relatively large man in particular who is often there (black hair and beard) and who might give you a response resembling a language but usually it's more of a 'Uh-huh' or a monosyllabic noise. Like i said, not rude as much as indifferent. I hate being nice all the time to people when there is zero return. Human interaction should not be one way. Guess what, i probably don't want to be there any more than you do, but at least fake it. It's the human thing to do. And it's part of your job. read more

the people that work in this store are AWFUL. they are just terrible people. I went there to return a cable box from FIOS. I followed the instructions in the box and the person at the store said I had to pay $5 for "more" tape to close the box. that's right... 5 bucks for a 2 inch piece of tape. I walked over the the Ledo's restaurant next door and asked for a piece of tape, which they gladly gave me. I brought the box back and they took it. They were clearly peevish about it and there looks and sneers were obvious. I would not recommend this location. read more

Terrible customer experience reflective of bad management/owner. UPS stores are franchise businesses, and policies are reflective of mgmt. I needed to return several packages to Amazon. The store is paid by Amazon per each package they take it, but employees cited a vague "policy" that they couldn't tape the box, or allow me to use tape. BUT you must bring the package untaped to add a return slip, leaving you with one option... buy a whole role of tape from the store. Screw that. read more

I am deeply disappointed in UPS. I shipped 2 items that were packed by the store and paid $58 for 2nd day shipping. The envelope arrived EMPTY. I was told by the manager of the store that a video shows my envelope leaving sealed and items in it, but I find this HARD TO BELIEVE. It has been 3 WEEKS since I first attempted to resolve this matter. The claim was closed without any communication to me. Sergio, the store manager for the Olney location did reach out and set up a 2nd claim, but I still have not gotten my money back nor the insured value of the items. I was told it takes 1-8 business days to settle a claim. Obviously this is not the case, and now Sergio is not returning my calls. There has been no follow through or ability to resolve this problem. UPS has lost our business. read more
