I would suggest this store hire more help. I dropped off a return order to Verizon, got a tracking receipt. The next day the box was on my front porch??? Not sure how it got there - the tracking number clearly shows it was dropped off at the store and enroute to where ever. (according to the tracking info it never left the store.) When I took the package back to the store the next day to find out why it was at my house, the CSR at the counter told me I would need to get a new label from Verizon. He could not help me. I know he may not have considered my time is valuable, but it is. I drove to a Verizon store and got a new label went to another UPS store - that was FAR more efficient with a DIY scanning system. I had a package wrongfully shipped to my address, and was trying to figure to return to sender. Tried to return a package at this location and was encouraged to "just throw it away." When I refused to throw away someone else's mail, and told them if that was the policy, that they could do it - it resulted in the employees following me out the door, yelling at me, and throwing the box. It was shipped back to my house, and when we tried to take it back the following day, the manager basically just responded with "well you aren't getting the answer you want, so you're being difficult." If I could give the UPS Store Olney negative stars I would. Horrible customer service. There were at least 20 people in line wrapped around the store and only one person behind a register assisting customers. The other employee present was boxing up packages and refused to open a register to help customers. The line moved at a snail's pace. What customer wants to wait in line for an hour when all they need to do is open another register? I wish I had taken a photo of all of the people wrapped around the store. The employee in the picture "James" was particularly rude and dismissive. There are too many other stores that understand what good customer service is for me to go back to this horrible UPS Store Olney location. I asked "James" for his last name and he refused to give it to me - he claimed he was the owner of the franchise. I found this hard to believe because an owner would've never acted so unprofessionally and disrespectful to customers. As you can see from his name tag there's only first names which gives no accountability, thus leading to the abhorrent customer service. It was so bad that I'm sure James will probably reply to this review in a rude and disrespectful way rather than apologizing. Does James look pleasant to you? I had 4 items for Amazon's no package return. I brought in the items with the correct QR codes. The manager said that he had to box the items up to return them to Amazon and the charge would be 12 dollars. During that time, the other clerk was taking items back with no box and even loose items. I said the email said my returns were no package returns. He insisted that he had to charge for boxing the items up even though I brought the original shipping boxes. I was rushed so I was going to use my credit card. He said "I'll do it for 10.00 if you pay me cash." He wasn't going to give me a receipt but I insisted, he reluctantly issued a receipt. When I had time later in the day and contacted Amazon, they said that he should not have charged me because the return were no package returns and the fact that I brought them back in their package should not have incurred an additional charge. Yikes! Customer service could be a little better. Like maybe a Hi when you walk in. Nope, the guys were so into their packing of boxes it's like I was invisible. Work stations are not really available and they charge you for tape. So, if you're sending something save yourself money and have it ready to go or you'll feel robbed walking out of the store. Wanna print your label? Yeah you get charged for that too. Ridiculously over priced. Had I not been on a time crunch I would have gone else where. I was sending back package the had free shipping .UPS charged me 4.00 simply to print the label which was extreme.

The employees at this place pretty much what they have to do and that's fine. They do their job and well i think. But sometimes i have been in there and even when they aren't busy, they seem indifferent at best. I know that isn't against the law or some might not call it bad customer service, but at least act like you want to be there. There is one relatively large man in particular who is often there (black hair and beard) and who might give you a response resembling a language but usually it's more of a 'Uh-huh' or a monosyllabic noise. Like i said, not rude as much as indifferent. I hate being nice all the time to people when there is zero return. Human interaction should not be one way. Guess what, i probably don't want to be there any more than you do, but at least fake it. It's the human thing to do. And it's part of your job. read more

I followed the instructions in the box and the person at the store said I had to pay $5 for "more" tape to close the box. that's right... 5 bucks for a 2 inch piece of tape. Terrible customer experience reflective of bad management/owner. UPS stores are franchise businesses, and policies are reflective of mgmt. I needed to return several packages to Amazon. The store is paid by Amazon per each package they take it, but employees cited a vague "policy" that they couldn't tape the box, or allow me to use tape. BUT you must bring the package untaped to add a return slip, leaving you with one option... buy a whole role of tape from the store. Screw that. read more

I am deeply disappointed in UPS. I shipped 2 items that were packed by the store and paid $58 for 2nd day shipping. The envelope arrived EMPTY. I was told by the manager of the store that a video shows my envelope leaving sealed and items in it, but I find this HARD TO BELIEVE. It has been 3 WEEKS since I first attempted to resolve this matter. The claim was closed without any communication to me. Sergio, the store manager for the Olney location did reach out and set up a 2nd claim, but I still have not gotten my money back nor the insured value of the items. I was told it takes 1-8 business days to settle a claim. Obviously this is not the case, and now Sergio is not returning my calls. There has been no follow through or ability to resolve this problem. Tonight I was helped by Gift. He was truly a Godsend. I had a complex job of multiple printed items and faxed documents. I'm currently a furloughed government worker so any act of kindness is greatly appreciated. He handled my print and fax job professionally and with a smile. Great customer service goes a long way. Compared to FedEx the UPS Store is by far better in reasonable prices and services. Each time I visit I'm greeted warmly and the customer service is impeccable.
