Won't give receipts for drop offs. Won't provide UPS shipping envelopes. On top of that, just rude,

I had just finished processing my return when a senior citizen customer behind me had asked for assistance in carrying in her packages, if she pulled her car up front. The customer was pleasant and had already processed her returns at the self-checkout kiosk, and just asked for a little assistance. Instead of offering to help the senior citizen carry in her packages, the cashier told her that "they had a dolly" and told her to "use that." I was honestly taken aback. The customer was very clearly a senior citizen, and though she was walking unassisted, it was very clear that she lacked the physical ability. I was in a rush to get to my next appointment, but ended up helping the customer carry in her return packages. While we were walking to her car, she informed me that she had never had this issue before at any other UPS locations (so it clearly wasn't a "company policy" issue.") If the able bodied/young cashier would've taken 2 seconds out of her time (it wasn't even busy,) she would've seen that the packages weren't unusually large nor heavy, but just an issue of mobility for the customer. I understand that we are all busy and stressed and customer facing jobs can be really stressful, but the complete lack of awareness for this senior citizen asking for assistance was really disappointing.

I would strongly caution other business owners to carefully consider whether SpeedPro Imaging RVA…read moreis the right company for a detail-sensitive signage project. We hired SpeedPro for a fairly straightforward window vinyl installation. As the business owner, I provided the correct window dimensions and made clear that accurate alignment was important. Our designer supplied the production artwork at 100% scale with measurements and bleed built into the file. There was a minor discrepancy in the designer's artwork 0.5" but the file included bleed. SpeedPro then created a proof for our approval. This is where our experience became particularly frustrating: the proof did not include dimensions. There was therefore no meaningful way for me, as the customer, to compare the dimensions of the proposed production artwork against the actual windows and identify the issue before approving it. I approved the visual proof in good faith, relying on SpeedPro to identify any production issue that would prevent the approved design from being installed as shown. The installation was completed on September 3, and the finished result did not match the approved design. A prominent section of the graphic did not connect as intended and left a visible gap. We immediately documented the problem and contacted SpeedPro. What followed was even more disappointing. Rather than sharing ownership of the problem and working toward correcting the finished installation, SpeedPro told us that the graphics had been produced to the dimensions in the supplied file and that, because they had not performed a site survey, they do not alter customer-provided dimensions. They offered to reprint the affected panel at a discounted price--but still expected us to pay a trip fee. That response misses the fundamental issue. We did not expect SpeedPro to arbitrarily change our artwork or dimensions. We expected them to communicate if something in the supplied artwork created a production or installation problem. And if the proof was intended to be our opportunity to catch such an issue, the proof should have included the dimensions necessary for us to do that. It did not. We also specifically provided notes emphasizing precise alignment of the artwork with the window mullions. This was not a situation where we gave SpeedPro an ambiguous concept and asked them to figure it out. We provided measured dimensions, final artwork, detailed placement instructions, and approved their proof. SpeedPro's response has essentially been: we printed what was in the file. That may explain what happened, but it does not address the customer-service and quality-control issue. I want to be fair about the parts that went well: the installation was scheduled when promised, communication before installation was generally responsive, and the installation technician was courteous and professional. Unfortunately, those positives do not compensate for the finished product failing to match the approved design or for the way the problem has been handled afterward. For a business paying nearly $1,500 for professional signage, I expect more than having the supplied file reproduced literally. I expect the vendor to communicate obvious production concerns, provide a proof that contains the information necessary for meaningful approval, and stand behind the finished installation when it does not match what was approved. The most troubling part of this experience is not that a mistake happened. Mistakes happen. It is that, after we brought the mistake to their attention, the response focused on assigning responsibility rather than resolving the problem. Business owners should be aware of this experience before trusting SpeedPro with signage where precise measurements and alignment matter.
