They took over the business three years ago. Aside from copying & shipping you can get fingerprinted, order silk floral arrangements, pick out a greeting card & snack on the abundance of beverages, bottled Starbucks drinks, candy, chips, cookies, etc. If you're feeling lucky, purchase a lottery ticket or two. There isn't self-faxing & printing, yet you can email your documents for them to print out for you. For shipping, bring your own packing tape or you'll be charged a user fee...better than having to buy tape as you do at USPS. You can drop off packages for UPS, FedEx, DHL, USPS & Amazon - for the latter, they do not have the Return Code Scanner. There's a mini workstation, pay as you use. I've been here a few times now and the owner is such a friendly and helpful person. I had some packages to send off and I couldn't find a box for one of them. He was kind in offering to leave the box with him and he would take care of it for me. I even got a shipping notification later that evening. It is a horrible place to do any of your business and personal items-The Owner is rude, has poor listening skills, yells when he is wrong, disputes proved facts and has no accountability for anything. Seems like a petulant child. Do not go there under any circumstances. I had my bank call the Owner/Clerk about a duplicate transaction he put through. At that time, the bank and some customers noted his arrogance, stubbornness, and refusal to return monies he was illegally holding. The gentleman who runs this place rules. After years of absolutely miserable experiences with the post office in Kensington, I decided it was time to explore other options, and walked in here for the first time a couple of years ago. Not only does he consistently respond in a helpful way to my every request ( and there have been plenty of them the last few years, as I've bought and returned more than my fair share of items from Amazon and Ebay over the years ), but he always seeks to find the cheapest way to mail all these packages. At this point, I can pretty much walk in, hand him a package, and not say another word, and I know he'll take care of the situation. Great guy, so glad I found this place. This review is partially a response to Al E. I can't imagine what situation brought Steve, the owner of Mailboxes & More, to "yell" at Al. When I see Yelp reviews like that I wonder about the back story. I moved here a year ago from the West Coast, and Steve couldn't have been nicer in setting up my account by phone before I arrived. Whenever he sees me coming to collect mail he goes back to get it; it's often ready before I reach the counter. He's friendly and open; I like his wife, too. The store has a comfortable place to buy a snack and hang out. There's a good feel to the place; I'm glad my post office box is there. I'm a small business owner myself, so I understand the value of fair and accurate Yelp reviews (Yelp's filtering system usually doesn't help!). read more

A great, convenient and helpful store with not only a range of shipping options but a mini convenience store with snacks, a good selection of gift cards and great customer service. I really wish I had known about the notary services offered, I had to go through a lot of hassle at a local bank the last time I needed one and I have no doubt it would have been much more productive to get one here (given how efficiently they run everything else). This place seems to have good reviews, but I would give this place a solid ZERO stars. I mailed a care package to my best friend's dying father and I needed it to go out no later than May 5. I got to "Mailboxes and More" a little bit after 5pm (obviously I missed the window for the actual post office). I told the gentleman (he is normally the only person there, as he just confirmed that over the phone), I needed to send the package priority mail and I needed to track it . The gentleman explained to me that it wouldn't get there at least until 5/10 (because of the post office's short staffed, etc.). Hence, today 5/11, I pulled my "Mailboxes and more" print-out to track it, and of course, there is NO tracking number, for priority mail, mind you . . . Then I did what most people would do, I called the sender because sure, that must have been an oversight on their end, they are the pros in this field . . . they will be able to resolve this. . . so I thought. Lord and behold folks, go elsewhere, because if THEY make a mistake, YOU WILL BE ON YOUR OWN, while paying for a service you don't receive . . . You will have no answers from them despite the significance of your package. What I received from the person there, was not an "I'm sorry, that was an oversight on our part", or "we didn't print it but here it is!" Nope, what I received from "Mailboxes & More" instead was, and I quote, "We can argue all day . . . I have thousands of customers . . . we can go back and forth . . . you want to blame it on me, go ahead, I have broad shoulders!" Soooooo, it is MY fault YOU did not provide me with a tracking number on the receipt of my priority mail service? I am not sure what kind of customer service those "thousands of customers" received, but I can tell you customer #1001 (me) got the worst customer service imaginable . . . All I wanted was to track the package for my friend's sick dad, because my main concern is for it to be lost . . . instead I was left with tears of frustrations. The solution offered: Wait until Friday (5/13) and then I can submit an inquiry which can take up to 30- days. What part of "dying father" do we not get? read more

I entered the Mailbox & More on Rockville Pike, Rockville, MD to purchase some stamps. I asked the man how much stamps cost, he said .060 cents. I said stamps dont cost that much. He said, yes they do. The last time I purchased stamps were .050 cents. I purchased 10 stamps via credit car, which cost $6.00. I left the store went to my car and Google the cost of stamps on my phone. As of January 2019 stamps increased from 50 cents to 55 cents. I walked back to the store to show him the cost of stamps, now I caught him in a lie and he starts to get indignant. He proceed to give me back my money for the stamps. He never once stated that the stamps went up to 55 cents, but I charge 60 cents. He got upset because I caught him in a lie and he cheated me. With this being said, I will not return to this store to purchase nothing from this man. read more

Summary: Only go here if you want your package to be "lost"!!! This was my first time going here. I dropped off a FedEx pre-paid package on December 23rd. This was an expensive phone that was being sent back to Google. After about a week I get an email from Google stating they had not received my package! Confused by this I called Steve at the store and he said he would reach out to FedEx and do some research. After about a week I called Steve back and he said that he did not get any more information and told me to call FedEx. After filing a claim with FedEx I heard back within a day stating that they only picked up 1 package that was supposed to go Texas and the next pickup had no packages that were the same zip code as my package. Steve will not take ownership for losing my package and this business has nothing in place to avoid situations like these. For example why do you not have video surveillance or scan packages when someone drops off a package. What is to stop someone from opening packages and seeing what is inside of them? read more

DO NOT GO HERE. Unless you want to pay twice as much as the post office. I mailed 16 one pound envelopes and was charged about $14 a piece. This adds up to over $200!! When I questioned how expensive it seemed to mail my envelopes, the clerk at the desk was purposely misleading and said the post office raised their prices. My friends received the packages and the postage showed it cost $6 each!!! I couldn't believe it. The clerk did not clarify that we're actually paying double the price for them to drop it at the post office. What a ripoff!! Shame on them for taking advantage of me, an unsuspecting customer. This store lives up to its name: it has postal service, courier service mailings, mailboxes, plus a host of cards and gift items all of which reflect superb taste. The spatial arrangement, cleanliness and attractiveness of the store are outstanding. The couple who own it are uncommonly helpful and hardworking, patient and courteous. A bonus is that the lady is a traveling NOTARY PUBLIC! I've lived in many states on both coasts and this is the best store of its kind I have ever encountered. The owner is very impatient. I wouldn't get my fingerprints made from there again. He even blamed me for my poor fingerprint quality. One rude comment after every finger. He even told me that he was doing me a favor rolling my prints over the screen again and again. "Most places would quit after the first try". Stopped by for the first time. Dropped off multiple prepaid UPS and USPS packages and was criticized for bringing in postal service packages as the clerk stated that they don't get anything in return for that service. My interaction with this location was specifically to drop off a package which had a prepaid label. Parking was the biggest challenge, if any. This location has very specific vehicular entry and parking as it is attached to an office building. There are two spaces reserved for this shop at the entry of the carport directly across from the security booth, to which security promptly directed me. Gentleman working inside was friendly; provided a greeting before the door even closed behind me. While he did not offer a receipt for the package, he responded in kind when I asked for one. This place is great - convenient and efficient - and there's parking. Steve is a workhorse and can do 10 things at once, and do them all well. I've been going to Mailboxes & More for several years and have always found them to be very easy to work with. Steve is always very courteous and happy to help, and my packages have always arrived with no issues. Recently, I had to ship a very fragile item that was very expensive. I entrusted this task to Steve and and am very happy I did! He went above and beyond to make sure my item was packed securely and he made me feel at ease about shipping through him.
