Daniel Petra owns 49% of the company; his wife owns 51%. Mr. Petra states on his website "All team members undergo comprehensive background checks and are fully bonded". Following the theft I asked Mr. Petra if his employees were bonded; his reply was that the company was insured but the employees were not bonded. I agree with Johana and TJ P. Daniel sounds like a great guy at the beginning of the process, told me he would be on site at my home to ensure that all went well, and was a no-show. No follow-up from him - he didn't contact me to check on how things went. When I told him about the theft, his response was basically "that's terrible - let me know if I can do anything". Yes, Mr. Petra, you can reimburse me for having to purchase a new vehicle, and you can vette your employees to ensure that you aren't hiring criminals! Petra Moving Company should not be in business. BEWARE! A different company may be more expensive, but you would not have to be concerned about any employees stealing from you. Cheryl H.

From the estimate to pick up, through delivery, Bayshore was absolutely outstanding. The communication was terrific; the pick up went flawless and was so organized; the warehouse is climate-controlled, so art and electronics were all just fine; and the delivery was perfect. The truck arrived on time, preceded by a call from the driver, and the local team here in AZ were beyond great ~ respectful; affable and hard-working. Moving is stressful, however, any worries about going through the process were eliminated by the Bayshore team. My review is based on having used interstate movers 6 times in the last 40 years, some personal,…read moresome corporate. This is, in our opinion, by far the worst company that has moved us. Their weight estimate was a lot less than the competing quotes, so obviously a lot cheaper. But had we not culled more than we originally planned to move we'd have been over their limit for additional charges, so I have doubts in their estimating process. But the main reason I am giving them 1 star is that they did NOT take care of our items as well as someone in their price range should be. We have moved many times, we KNOW how to pack, but we have not had as many broken items as with these guys, they were really cramming our stuff hard in their truck as well as piling it high in our driveway for many hours on move out day. We also had a few furniture breakages and lost items from the unpacking process. We eventually did receive some partial compensation for a lost item and some breakage, but not nearly enough to cover. My advice, use United Van Lines. They may be more expensive but you'll get what you pay for.

I received a call back from who I believe is the owner or manager over the phone he asked me to send pictures which I did. i explained I need this transaction to be no more than $1000.00 and I was assured by him it wouldn't be more than $1500. I explained that if we needed to remove some items to keep the cost low we would be willing to do so. Knowing my budget was of great concern he explained once he had eyes on the items at the storage facility he would give a more accurate price quote. He then told that There was a shipment going out in two days and he would like to have my items on that ship. My initial response was that is such short notice I don't think I can do that. His response was he would give me a 10% discount if I were to make that shipping date. I then agreed to have my items ready for pick up on that Sunday Sept. 14th (we were on the call that Friday evening Sept. 12th). I was able to scramble and arrange to have my items ready for this two day notice pickup. They came to pick up the items however the representative was not there to confirm the cost as I did not receive a call from him as he promised. He purposely was not there so he did not want to give me a price. If he had quoted me $2869 of course I would have said NO and went with a different company. He waited till they had my items in their possession. This is when all the foolishness took place. I received a call on Monday from the office stating that my invoice was ready and they had sent pictures of the items wrapped up on pallets. To my utter disbelief the invoice was $2869. I told the woman on the phone That is not what we spoke about on the phone, your rep. said it would be no more than $1500. She said no and that if I wanted I could pay the rest in two weeks. I told her I don't have that all I have is $1500 and she said she would take that payment. I didn't understand what was happening so I reluctantly agreed. This company is trying to extort me by holding the items and demanding more money than what was originally discussed. I was taken advantage of me they knew I had a budget but still tried to squeeze money out of me. They are current holding my items hostage at the shipping yard in Jamaica 10/8.
