I paid $25 for a passport photo which is already insane, and it was so bad I ended up taking the photo myself at home and printing it. The lighting is directly overhead (it's supposed to be from the front according to the passport site, and I was practically unrecognizable. Don't waste your money here and definitely go somewhere else or look up how to do it yourself like I did. You would think for $25 they might actually let you see the photo and if it was any good, but no. It's basically the DMV with even worse lighting. read more

Read all the reviews placed over the past couple years. This business needs to be turned into the BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU. Super weird encounter today at UPS on1309 N. McDowell in Petaluma. Had to return two Amazon purchases. One was in a box, the other in a paper envelope. Unbeknownst to me, the flap had come undone on the envelope. All it needed was a piece of scotch tape to reseal the envelope. However, the man waiting on me, said I would need to PURCHASE a packet of tape. Apparently, he couldn't be bothered to just pull off a piece of tape from behind the counter and slap it on the envelope. So - I refused to purchase a pack of tape and literally left with my package in hand. The obvious, most reasonable thing this guy should have done, was simply reattach the flap with a piece of tape. But like a weird drill sergeant he simply refused, and by doing so forfeited the fee they would have received by simply processing this package. I've mailed a lot of packages at that particular UPS location, but never again. If you can't be bothered to do something so simple to assist a consistent customer- I will take my business elsewhere. We all know there are endless opportunities to mail packages. It was so weird- I will encourage anyone I know to take their business elsewhere, too. read more

I just went to mail something and the guy at the counter said I need to put it in a different box, which is totally fine, but it was going to be $13 for the box. Went to the Mail Depot and it was $3.75. Also, the customer before me needed to make some copies and didn't know how to use the copy machine so the employee said it's something like $3.95 for the employee to "show him" how to use the copier. Shipped two very small items that weighed in total less than 0.5 pounds. Ground shipping for one was approximately $43 and the other was approximately $62. The shipping rates here seem extremely overpriced. Got a very weird vibe after the lady working the counter stamped my receipt with "No Refunds All Sales Final on All Items and Shipments". Do you think I'm going to ask for my money back on an item I just shipped? Never have I seen this done at a UPS Store. Seems shady to me. I recommend the UPS Store on Lakeville. Shipping rates are much more reasonable and they are always friendly there. read more

If Navita Sohol was as concerned with providing decent service as she is at informing everyone that she is the owner of multiple UPS stores, we'd all be better off. I got to find out firsthand recently why a lot of people in our area avoid her and her stores. She has a truly horrifying attitude. Quite possibly the best service one could hope to get! We went in for the purpose of having a document notarized (not knowing if someone would be there to do it), and yes!, someone was there... Turns out that our document had the wrong Notarization form attached and she caught the error right away, and corrected it. Most definitely recommend! read more

I've utilized this UPS Store many times throughout the years with no problems and today was the first time I've used them in probably a year and a half during the Covid-19 pandemic. I had to drop off 2 returns for 2 different businesses and both companies said I could take it to the local UPS Store so that's what I did today. I walked in and noticed that there are markings on the floor to keep everyone 6 feet apart, the young man behind the counter was wearing his face mask & gloves. He was very attentive and very helpful. I gave him the first return which was for Amazon and he scanned the QR Code that they sent me for the return and proceeded to give me a receipt for my return. The second return was the equipment I was returning to Comcast (yup, I cancelled their sorry butts but that's another review. LOL). I had the equipment in a bag and he scanned 2 of the equipment and handed me a receipt for them, then noticed their was a 3rd piece of equipment. He apologized for not noticing it and said he would do a separate return for it. And again I got that precious receipt to show that I did return everything. All in all everything went smoothly and I appreciated all the precautions that this location is taking for the pandemic. It is conveniently located in a small strip mall so there is plenty of parking. read more

I stopped by the McDowell ups store last month to get some paperwork notarized as executor of my deceased fathers estate. The notary seemed sassy but nice and was quick to tell me she was the owner and very proud. I thought to myself, "Girl boss, I def want to support this business". When returning home from Thanksgiving vacation, I received mail from my dad's retirement fund stating that the notary had put the wrong date. It was off by 2 months. I was not upset thinking that people make mistakes and surely this will be no problem to fix. When I walked into the ups store it was busy, and I saw her snap at the customer before me. Then when I walked up and explained the situation, she looked up the date of the notary, saw the mistake and said, "I obviously won't be charging you to fix this, but I will charge you to re-fax it. " No apology, no sorry I messed up. I laughed and said that I would not be returning. She then asked for the fax number, and I told her where it was on the page and told her to double check the number before she faxed it. She then told me she didn't like my attitude and that she is refusing service. When I asked to speak to someone else, she proudly exclaimed that she was the owner. When I loudly recounted the mistake she made, and that now these funds would not be in the 2023 tax season because of her mistake, she begrudgingly came over, took the paperwork and faxed it. She still charged me the 2$ to fax it. She NEVER apologized. I wish her the best of luck because she has a lot to learn as a new owner. She lost a supportive customer over a 2$ fax and a lack of ability to simply say "I'm sorry". read more

If you value customer service, do not bring your packages to this store. The owner, Navita something or other, doesn't give a tinkers dam about her customers. I shipped a box out of state for around $70. I offered her a $100 bill and she said she couldn't make change for it. How does that kind of business not have $30 in change. Had to ship the package so had to use a credit card which I hadn't wanted to use. I expressed as much to her and her response was that I didn't need to come back to her store. Guess where I won't ever go again ... hope you don't either. I've been going to that store for the last probably 20 years or somewhere in that time frame. First bad experience there and the last. Would give zero stars if possible. Tried to ship two packages, shipping costs were outrageous. Tried to cancel the shipments immediately afterwards and the store owner initially refused, stating that "no refunds" is printed on the receipt, which is conveniently printed on the receipt that you receive AFTER completing the transaction. Eventually she agreed to refund one package but not the second. When I asked her why one and not the other, she was not able to provide a reason other than citing their "no refund" policy and threatened to not refund either package. Basically, she was willing to lose a customer over $46. What a horrible and greedy way to treat your customers. I will never spend another dime at this business. This new ownership is clearly not a change for the better. read more

I had a terrible experience here! I came in to drop of a package and I used a recycled box. When I came up to the counter I asked if they could tape it for since I had no tape. The employee said yes with an attitude and said next time tape it at home or they will be a charge. I understood I have never been told this before but ok. Then she made a comment about my box saying I cannot use product boxes. (It wasn't, it was a box something else had been shipped in) which I stated and she rolled her eyes at me. I then asked for a shipping plastic liner to insert my label she was so rude she threw it on the box. I asked her not to throw it at me and she said "I didn't it was on the box and it's my job to place it on on the box" never had that said to me before and at this point she was rude and said she refused to accept my package and said take it to the ups store down the street and walked away!!!!! I have never experienced such horrible service before and I have been to this ups store before. I asked to speak to the manager and with attitude (in front of other costumers and my child) said I am the owner. I cannot express how rude and unprofessional she was. What a pleasant experience yesterday. I wasn't having the best day and had been stalling on returning some packages. I finally went to drop a few items off at this UPS store, one of them being an extra large dog crate, and the other two being small. The gentleman working was so kind and helpful. I brought the first two items in and let him know about the crate coming in next. When I went to bring the crate in, he came sprinting to the door to help me. He opened the door, carried the crate in, and even taped up the last bit that needed taping. Although this should be the norm for customer service, it just isn't the reality sometimes. I went in today with an Amazon return. I pulled up a picture of the return label. The owner Navita, handed me her card and said I needed to go home and print out the return label. I explained that my printer was broken. She said I could go home, pull up the return again on my Amazon and email her the label and she would print it out for me and charge me for printing out the label. ($3.00) and I could come all the way back. (5 miles) and she would process the return. I've been using the UPS store on Lakeville in Petaluma for many years on a regular basis with lots of mailings and that has never happened to me. I went to the UPS store on Lakeville and showed them a picture of the return label on my phone they printed it out put it on the package and I was out of there in five minutes. What a waste of time I only used that store next to Wilco because I happened to be at Kohl's prior to Will never go there with my business again. She could've taken two seconds to help me, but again acted like I was imposing on her. She was not even friendly about it. read more

Sadly we had one of the poorest customer experiences here after going to the other location and being told that we needed to come to this store for notary services so we drove here and encountered unhelpful and unprofessional employees that told us to go back to the other location. There was no apologies or any attempt to contact and verify with the other store that was in fact the case and the employee left the service area after we told her specifically what the other location has instructed us to come here and how can we even trust that now? Lessons to the owner and employees at this location - study up on the meaning of customer service and optimizing customer experience. Think like a customer and how you want to be treated. Be helpful and apologetic as that will bring you additional biz. When you don't do any of this, people will not return and they will find alternative services. read more

The staff at this location are ALWAYS friendly, polite, patient, helpful!! I've been here when the lines are long and with no one else there. They are always attentive and patient. Never make you feel rushed. They are very helpful when clients are confused or need help. Went in to speak with the manager about the deceptive service I had received 2 days prior. A young woman called Margaret P said she was the manager, I looked to the young man next to her to confirm with him that he was there when the poor service was received, she went ballistic. Obviously has inferiority issues, she yelled at me to look at her, not him and when I said I was establishing for her that he had been there she ramped it up screaming and swearing at me, called me some pretty awful names and told me if I ever showed my face in "her" store again that she would cause me bodily harm (she used other words). I would never go back anyway, FedEx provided the exact same service (that they were attempting to charge me) for $130 less, yes, you are reading that correctly! The male trainee was obviously shocked by her reaction as was I. If she is the owner, I can only wonder how she expects her business to thrive by treating customers this way. read more

She and her team, including Rachel went above and beyond in recommending how much packing material I needed and in printing the beta version of my novel manuscript. They even punched holes in the copies so I could bind them together with clips. read more

They don't answer the phone so you can't ask notary hours. I go in at 3:15 pm only to be told by the owner and notary that he doesn't notarize after 3 pm. There is only one other person in the store. Why should we support small business as they don't support us. He could have easily done my notary but it wasn't worth his time. Never going back and will be sure to warn others!!!! read more

I've recently returned 2 items through this location. The drop off of these items were done on separate days and were for different companies. The return labels were issued by the company where the items were purchased. After watching for the refund of the items to post to my account it became clear that these items have disappeared. There is no record of the items being dropped off/shipped, according to the company to which i was trying to return the item. Remember these were done at different times and for different companies. The only consistency here is the same drop off location--this UPS store. I don't know what happened to my items but I know that I brought them here, and that that both of these returns show no record of being dropped off here. Luckily the 2 companies have issued a refund without the items (bravo on their customer service), but if they hadn't been so generous i would simply be out nearly $300. I'm posting this review for the store because i've never had anything like this ever happen anywhere ever, yet now it's happened twice in a short period of time--maybe a new employee did something wrong? Maybe a thief on the staff? Maybe computer error? i dunno. UPS Petaluma on McDowell--if you have my items, please contact me! 1 star for this experience, 5 stars for their customer service over the years, 3 stars average and benefit of the doubt. read more
