Grandma was thrilled and we all couldn't be happier. She was great, and helped me choose the flowers and the wording for a card. Delivery was scheduled for approx. 11:00am on August 30. I paid, in full, just over $200, at that time. On the day of the delivery, the flowers were not there. At 11:30am, I called and spoke to Elizabeth, and she said there was a mix up on their end, and that there was no way she could deliver the flowers that day. No warning, no contact letting me know. The service started at noon, so I was unable to make any last minute plans. I was beyond disappointed by this news. If I had known earlier, I could have made other arrangements. Elizabeth did refund my payment, in full, but that didn't help the fact that no flowers were delivered. I chose a Petaluma florist on purpose, trying to support the local business. But, I received nothing in return.

Well Beth, who is the owner of Petaluma Floral, commented on my post that she could do it. But she took it a step further and posted a picture of one that she had just made & included her phone number. I called the next morning & she took the design she created for someone else and added yellow tulips as tulips were my brother's favorite flower plus I wanted yellow to light yellow since it was for his funeral. Let me tell you the price was right, and the arrangement & colors were exactly what I wanted! She was able to get me in her schedule since it only gave her 8 days to create it and she delivered them herself the morning of the funeral. Talk about excellent customer service!! I've ordered from Petaluma Floral multiple times over the course of about a year now for special occasions, and these have been consistently some of the best arrangements I've ordered in my life. Each one has been a little different, but still maintain the same general look/feel per my preferences. I may have been a little lucky, but the bouquets always seem to last longer in the vase than some of the flowers I get from grocery stores too. I've only ordered online, but as another reviewer mentions, I get the sense that this floral arrangement company caters to making arrangements for specific types of events. That is, when you order an arrangement on their website, you can input your preferences and the general look and feel you'd like out of your arrangement and they'll design the arrangement to spec. You can preorder in advance of the date you'd like them to deliver. They have mostly been on-time with their deliveries (you can specify if you have a preferred time frame of delivery on a specific day), but have been communicative with me if the flowers need to be delivered in a different time frame (e.g., when they're really busy trying to get out an order for a large event like a wedding). Note that their website specifies that they only deliver in Petaluma. Overall, I would highly recommend Petaluma Floral.

There is an additional wow factor on the left side of the store, a beautiful open space with 2 large tables for candle making. While looking for a fun outing, I googled local candle making classes and came upon this adorable spot. For around $40/pp you can book ahead (they have a select amount of slots per session) for an experience that includes when you arrive: an industrial but adorable apron to wear, a tray set out that has everything you need for the experience, and a note pad/pen. The class is led by awesome women who guide you to pick your vessel, lead you through the scent process (you get to smell scents ranging from sweet to floral to woodsy to fresh), sticker adhesives so you can name your scent, and then are assisted in creating your perfect candle (wax, wick, so on)! To note: if you don't live in the area, you can pay $7 while in the store to have your candle mailed to you within a few days post class. (you don't receive your candle immediately after because it has to set, but if you live closeby, can pick it up the next day). There are also such great eateries and places to tuck into for dessert, tastings, and more nearby, with plenty of street parking and accessibility. What a wonderful lavender bee farm!!…read more I've visited much bigger lavender farms in Texas in the past. This farmer is not big by any means in comparison but it's so well maintained, charming, and so beautiful. They only open for about a month during lavender season in early summer. So pencil that in on your calendar to email or call b/c it's by appointment only. The tour is $15 per person and it's well worth it. The owners JoAnn and Rick gave a very informative tour of the property, lavender fields, bee-keeping, and the history of the farm. There are plenty of photo ops and you'll also get to meet Bob who is the master dog at the lavender bee farm. The best part of the tour is the tasting in the end IMO. JoAnn served us samples of local artisan cheese and fresh watermelon drizzled with lavender honey. OMG they tasted sooooo freaking fantastic!!! And how can I forget about that lavender lemonade. WOWZ!!! After the tour, you are free to explore on your own and/or buy honey and gifts from the small gift shop. I picked up a bottle of lavender honey for $18. I can't wait to return next year and take my parents there, too! Love love!!
