This is a one (1) star review for the United States Postal Service. The USPS carrier arrived today, June 20th, 2023 at 3:27pm and proceeded to DUMP MY NEW, SENSITIVE ELECTRONICS ON THE DRIVEWAY. I was in the front yard only a few yards away when it happened and heard the loud "thud" of the cardboard box hitting the asphalt. The Postal carrier didn't even have enough common sense or respect to deliver the package to the front porch where it would be safer from theft. How hard is it to walk a few more feet and not drop a box that weighs less than 10 lbs? Anyway, as he was backing up in his USPS jeep, I yelled "Hey! Stop!" which the carrier did. I asked the carrier why he did that and he replied "I will be more careful next time." I asked the carrier for his name and he would not provide it. I instructed him to be careful every time for everyone. And what about this time? If the computer is damaged, it will have to be repackaged, an return authorization obtained, transported to the USPS facility, and I will have to wait almost a week for another unit to be delivered. Is the USPS going to compensate anyone, including me, for their carelessness? Of course not! By the way, I attempted to call the Postmaster at the appropriate USPS facility at (707) 528-2209 four separate times. The OGM says "Welcome to the Santa Rosa Post Office" followed by a couple of other messages and then the phone rings for about 1 1/2 minutes until it disconnects. Had to go in and mail my passport renewal. COVID precautions were in place. Line moved along quickly. Staff seemed friendly, but they are definitely there to do their job and don't waste time with small talk. The lady that took care of me was very helpful and got me out of there within five minutes. read more

Came here with my mother after the big fire destroyed her neighborhood. Her mail was being redirected here and we waited (no joke) for 3 hours for them to call our name. I think they probably lost the first slip of paper we gave them but it was frustrating to wait and wait and see people who'd come in way way after us get their mail and us get nothing. We jostled our way up to the counter to inquire a few times but they said they weren't going in any order of papers received but just the order they could locate the mail. Still.. three hours to pick up some junk mail and a bill. I would give more stars if we'd been one of the ones who waited only an hour or less. Another lady had been waiting over an hour and a half to finally be told that since her office building was still standing the mail was still being dropped off there, even though the business wasn't open and no one was there to receive mail. I also heard from a woman whose mail was handed to another customer, maybe tucked in under his own mail. Her slip of paper was with her mail and he'd called her on the cell number she'd provided to tell her he had her stuff. The staff was checking some identification but not for everyone. For most people they just gave the mail on good faith after calling out the address. I don't mind either way they do it but consistency would be nice. After seeing most people get their mail without ID I waited in place of my mother, but then some staff required ID and I didn't have her ID on me. Confusing. Window to send mail out was kept separate (thank goodness) and that moved quickly even though it was small and had only one employee. Location is not large, but I'm sure it usually gets the job done. Everyone was doing their best after the fire crisis but it was still pretty chaotic. Also not enough parking. We had to park a block away and were lucky to get that spot (due to the situation). read more

I had to turn in a tax extension(arrrggghhhh) and was dreading the thought of waiting in line at my "home" post office in Coddingtown. It occurred to me I should try this post office; closer to my house. IT WAS TRULY AMAZING!!!! No line. A place to sit down to fill out my forms. WONDERFUL postal service worker Dave could NOT have been more sweet, friendly and helpful. Even though I'm near Coddingtown more on my day-to-day errands, I'm seriously considering switching my PO box to this branch. read more

I typically HATE any post office, and this place is like a peaceful oasis compared to any other location I go to. Seriously. I HATE going to this post office. Every time I go, whoever is helping me at the counter seems like it's their first week on the job. As they punch things into the computer and figure out how to send my package I always hear "Oh wait..", "Oops..", "What?" I'm never confident they know the best way to send what I need and in the most cost effective way. Plus, they work so slowly. read more

In my option, this is the BEST USPS in Sonoma County. Dave and Alice are the BEST possible employees the USPS could ever hope to have! I will always miss Sabrina who was also a huge asset to this branch. It will be so sad when Dave retires as his excellent customer service and ongoing comedy show, make standing in line a pleasure instead of a complete and total drag like the downtown branch. It would be great if the hierarchy cared enough to treat your good employees like they deserve to be treated! It would be very helpful is this branch location were able to 1) reverse the direction of the drive up mail boxes with the exiting area being where the entrance of it is now. There is SO much traffic on that street now, that is is almost impossible to exit safely and in a timely fashion. Also, If the parking lot could be policed in some way for safety (as I was yelled at in the parking lot by another customer who was just crazy and then followed me in screaming at me while she checked her p.o. box) and so that customers of the gym across the street down hog all the parking spaces. They already make the entrance and exit dangerous because the gym customers take up most street spots and park to close to the actual drive ways. The above suggestions have nothing to do with the excellent customer service provided by Dave and Alice at this location, it would just be nice if the hierarchy of the USPS would listen and make some changes. read more

So I come to this post office a lot since its the one that is down from my street. There are usually two workers there that are helpful. A gentleman and a lady. But yesterday there was a new lady ( cant remember her name it started with an M) and she was very rude. I got there 10 mins before closing but she was upset that the address I was given by my client wasnt right and that they were closing so she said "Come on we are closed." I thought it was incredibly rude. Which is upsetting because the other two employees are generally fine , especially the gentleman that works there. read more

today there was a woman who came in to complain about a family members experience at this location. she continued to be repetitive and rude although she kept saying "im going to keep my cool.". the thin dirty blonde woman handling this customer handled it with composure the entire time. doing her best in giving the woman whatever info she could to help the woman take her complaint through the appropriate measures. as the line grew the lady continued to repeat herself,demanding the woman to give her answers that the woman clearly could not answer because she was not present during the time the issue accrued. I think the postal woman did a great job holding her composure with this difficult individual. hats off to her. one person can ruin your entire day. i hope she was able to move on knowing she handled the situation with grace. read more

I've never been in the building, the parking lot is very small, and getting out can be a hassle when it's busy. But it is closer than the Coddingtown or downtown locations. So if all I'm doing is dropping something off, then it works just fine. Other than that, I've been to better places. However, I don't know about the service as I've never stepped foot in there. It's near foodmaxx, so it's convenient if you shop there. read more
