This city is not friendly and people are selfish, I just got honked at cuz I rightfully stopped for a cop with his emergency lights on, then got cut off. When I confronted the person they called me slurs and spit on me. This is one of many rude instances that ive encounterd in this city. Do not live here, do not come here. People in oakland are more friendly then here I would give this town a 0.3 stars out of 5 if I could. I hate this town with a burning passion and I have no money to move out, I'm stuck paying rent here

The process at the window itself took just a few minutes, photo taking and biometric another 3-4 minutes, we were out (two people's renewal process done) in 40 minutes. No standing in queues, no long waits (since mostly every thing was completed online). The staff is attentive and helpful. Enough onsite parking available.

Luther Burbank, the renowned botanist and horticulturist resided here for many years. Two tours are offered- self guided audio and docent led. We passed on both as our time was limited. We explored on our own. Wednesday was volunteer day so we had an opportunity to speak with a couple of them. It's a very worthwhile visit if you're in the North Bay. We did buy a couple items in the carriage barn gift shop. There are two entrances you can access. Free street parking.

It's a historic home with a small but charming gift shop. I believe the greenhouse, home, etc are only accessible if you sign up for a tour, which we opted out of. We decided to stroll around the garden to observe the history and the cool varieties of plants made by Burbank. There are some really interesting fruits I've never seen before, such as a fuzzy apple that looks like a peach. There are also free audio tours available with a mobile phone. The gift shop is cute and full of unique things I haven't seen elsewhere. There is also a small history section, so it's worth checking out. Overall a pleasant stroll with some photo worthy spots of white arches and unique plants. If you're coming in season, you may also see some fruit on the trees! I spent a good 20-30min here, but you can definitely spend a little more if you decide to pay for the tour.

Upon arrival was promptly informed by Brianna the woman working the front desk that she didn't have the clearance to sign my paperwork. The lady who did wouldn't be in the office till Monday. I figured I was screwed & had wasted my afternoon. But Brianna offered to let me email her a copy of my form & was going to have the absent worker fill it out & email it back to me Monday! That's a huge timesaver & not something she had to do. I had a separate issue she helped me with & seemed very knowledgeable about as well. Then while I was standing off to the side writing the email, I noticed Brianna was just as awesome with the person in line behind me. A man was hoping to pay a fine, was in the wrong office. He didn't understand English. His wife was trying to translate to Brianna from his phone. Brianna took everything in stride & was nice enough to unprompted plug the address of the office into the man's phone so he could find it no problem remaining friendly & courteous the whole time. The man & wife were very thankful when they realized what she did. Working the front desk at these governmental agency jobs can be soul crushing. As you end up being the punching bag for everyone's frustrations whether justifiable or based on misconceptions. This kind of gratuitous helpfulness is something that would have impressed me at an upscale restaurant. Experience has taught me it's somewhat inconceivable to find at a county tax collection office. As a registered voter and former political candidate, I can't say enough about the competency, professionalism, and demeanor of all of the employees there, starting with Deva Proto. As our elected official, Ms. Proto runs an efficient and friendly office, which isn't something that can be said for all of our elected officials, especially someone with so much influence and impact on our system of democracy. Sonoma County should be proud of our Assessor, Recorder, Registrar of Voters.
