I was disappointed with my experience at this UPS Store. A package of mine was mistakenly delivered there due to my own error, and when I went to retrieve it I was charged $20.00. I understand they are a business and that they have the legal right to charge a handling fee. My issue isn't that they charged a fee, it's just that $20.00 feels excessive for simply handing over a package that was already there. In a small community, moments like these are an opportunity to build good will and customer loyalty. A more reasonable fee or a small handling fee would have left a much better impression. Instead I walked away feeling like a small mistake became an unnecessary expense. I respect their right to run their business as they see fit, but this experience left me disappointed. read more

I was returning a TV to Amazon that was severely damaged by UPS in delivery. I taped the box shut, but the employee at the desk said that I had to return with a better tape job or pay $2 to borrow their tape. I objected and pointed out that I have done returns to Amazon completely unwrapped and the UPS location or Whole Foods has always taken care of it. At this point the two employees demanded that I leave the store and called the police to have me removed. I returned shortly after with the box completely taped, but they refused to help me and called the police again, so now I must drive 10 minutes to the next closest store. They refused, saying that I had to buy a 200-foot long roll of tape (for $6, the same roll on Amazon is $4) or pay them $2 for the tape I needed. Talk about horrible service. This place used to be so friendly and accommodating, especially for locals. Not any more. They are charging for anything and everything. I needed a piece of paper to drop a quick note in a package. I'm that'll be a $1. Today I bring in my package all boxed up from Amazon but it needed the top taped to close. That'll be $2. I get it if I didn't bring a box or bag or anything. But all i needed was a 6" strip of clear tape. Bad business. I'll never use them for any of their other services because they are just trying squeeze their customers for every penny. Employee wasn't even friendly about it. Was just like yeah I'm serious! Wow... what a ripoff! If you fly in and out of the Santa Rosa airport, you likely know that cases of wine fly for free on Alsaska Airlines, to several cities. Unfortunately, getting them packed is far from free. My husband and I had gone to several wineries over the weekend, buying a bottle or two at each winery. Our flight out was on Monday morning and we stopped at the UPS store to get them packed for flight. When we arrived, they had only one 12-pack left. Luckily, we had exactly 18 bottles, so we purchased a 12-pack and a 6-pack. I will say that the guys working at the store we efficient and quick. Then I saw the register: $55 for the 12-pack and $35 for the 6-pack... for cardboard and styrofoam!!! I would have shopped around, but we had to get to our flight so had no time. We later learned that the other packing shop in town is much, much cheaper. Truthfully, next time we will simply bring out own and save $100. My opinion is to avoid this place at all costs. read more

TERRIBLE! This UPS store does not merit one star. I am reluctantly giving one star simply to post this review and WARN other customers. Take your business to another location! 1. The UPS Store #2566 Healdsburg consistently refuses to scan return QR codes presented on a mobile device, insisting instead that customers provide a printed copy. This practice is inconsistent with standard procedures at every other UPS location I have used across multiple states. 2. The UPS Store #2566 Healdsburg charged me $5 to print a QR code that was already displayed on my cellphone. Additionally, the store charges for taping labels or sealing packages--services that other UPS locations routinely provide at no additional cost. These practices are inconsistent with typical UPS Store policies (where pre-printed labels are placed in a plastic sleeve at no additional cost). 3. On multiple occasions, store employees have failed to scan all returned packages or provide accurate receipts. My family has documented instances where three packages were dropped off, but the receipt reflected only two. This issue is particularly concerning because a previous return was never received by Amazon, resulting in a cancelled refund and a charge for the unreturned item. 4. The UPS Store #2566 Healdsburg has repeatedly allowed returned packages to sit inside the location for several days without being processed. After noticing that my Amazon return status had not updated, my sister went to the store and found my packages were still stacked in a corner three days after drop‑off. 5. The customer service at this location has been consistently poor. Employees have demonstrated a lack of training, empathy, and professionalism. 6. Due to the repeated negative experiences, I will no longer be using The UPS Store #2566 Healdsburg for any services. Thankful to have the UPS Store in Healdsburg. It's located in the Vineyard Plaza Shopping Center (about midway between Safeway and the Dollar Tree), and there's always parking in the large lot. We probably go there once a month to return online orders or ship packages, and it's always a quick and efficient process. They sell printing and packing materials, and more. And they offer shipping, printing, and faxing services. And, they are now open on Sundays! read more

The new ownership is really killing a small town UPS. Just got charged $8 for the staff to box and tape a package. A package they had me package myself. I know there is inflation, but isn't that part of their jobs and what a company pays their employees for? Absurd. Update: I didn't see them tape up the box. When the package arrived they had taken it out of the new box and put it into an old box. Paid $20 for a new box, their "packing labor", and "packing materials." For them the switch out to an old box and not use any packing materials. Total scam of a company. read more

Only reason they get two stars is because the employees were nice. I needed to send a few documents overnight to a PO Box and the only way to do that is USPS. They said they have USPS flat rate envelopes but they failed to mention that they cost more than double the price. When you go to USPS a priority mail flat rate envelope is $8.95. At this UPS store they charge $19.60. When you go to USPS an express mail overnight flat rate envelope is $26.95. At this UPS store they charge $58.97! The worst is that they didn't tell me this until everything was printed out and on the envelopes. When I told the manager/owner that these prices are grossly higher than at USPS he didn't believe me and said "I don't think that's correct" Look it up, the rates are clear online. read more

Today my caregiver went to the UPS store in Healdsburg to send a package for me. The male clerk was totally abusive to my caregiver/friend. Being an indifferent employee was just the beginning of this disgusting encounter. Another employee, as well as other customers, observed his behavior and were sympathetic to my caregiver. She ended up having to go to the Windsor office where they assured her that she was the 3rd customer this week to leave the Healdsburg location in favor of driving 6 miles away to Windsor. I had 7 boxes of old records that needed to be shredded. I read on line information and called to make sure. Real person was professional, positive, gave me the same informaiton that is on line and explained the process etc. I arrived at the store and the manager had an impressive dolly he used to bring the boxes from my car to the store. I watched him weigh each box, plus he verbally repeated the weight and how much each box would cost. There is a discount for certain poundage which he told me about. He rang up the total as I had expected, no hidden costs. Process was professional, quick, close to home, and completed. read more

Even during a very busy day, when my check fell out of a very important envelope to renew government documents, he hustled after the USPS mail person after repacking my envelope, then TOOK it over to the post office when he couldn't catch them. This store is awful. I own a couple businesses in town and sometimes have to go to drop off a package if we aren't expecting a driver to stop by in the near future. For years there has been a back and forth of them sometimes allowing packages that need a signature and sometimes not. I just tried to go today and the woman working was adamant that they never sign the paper and only a driver can sign for it. Two weeks ago I dropped it off no problem and even called ahead to confirm they could because of their terrible back and forth behavior. I don't care what the policy is. Do or don't sign it, but be CONSISTENT! Edit in response to the owner: I understand what it says on the paperwork, but we have had workers at the store sign it about half a dozen times. It's always made it to its destination with no issue when they do. Please make sure they understand to say no to everyone so there are no mixed signals. read more

I went to the Healdsburg ups to have some map schedules laminated today. All I needed was for 12 different small maps to be put back-to-back in pairs of 2 each per lamination. 6 pair, which should only have taken up 2 large sheets only. I've had it done with the previous owners before who were great. What I got instead was 2 of the smaller maps was laminated with their largest sheet which should have fit an extra 2 pair (or 4 more maps) with the rest being done the same. In total, they used more than twice as much laminate sheets needed. When I got them back, they had cut out the schedule bus stop arrival times passengers depend on seeing as well as the schedule were not lined up back-to-back and uneven. Also, the laminate was coming apart at the corners and sides and sliding out of the sheets. When I demanded a refund, the owner told me she wouldn't do that and told me to leave the store. I let her know I was filling a complaint with the corporate office, which she told me to do because I wasn't getting reimbursed. So right in from of her I called UPS customer service and talked to the area manager, who set her straight and I was refunded my $43, which by the previous owners cost me a little over $28 to do the same job. So I recommend if you are not happy with this new franchise owner? Call their area manager, Ben. He was awesome, and he returned my phone call within 1/2 after I left the store when I informed him that I was filling a complaint with the BBB. read more

I went into the store this morning to do a return, package was all ready to go. Two team members were at the back table helping a couple with documents. I understand they were assisting other customers but I was not greeted or acknowledged at all (even with the door alarming them that someone came in). I waited for about a minute until a male team member came out. He had a serious look and didn't say anything. I said "hi" and his response was "put it down." I was surprised by his tone so I said "really?". He said "yes put it down on the table" (still with an attitude and I felt very rude for no reason). I was taken aback and responded, "I'm not doing this with you if you're going to be rude", I set the box down and walked away. There is no reason to be blatantly rude to people. This was incredibly frustrating, especially since I was just needing a simple return transaction. Please train your team better kindness & decency in customer service. read more

I brought two SMALL packages as per Amazon's instructions for the UPS store to return. I was told I had to buy a box. No problem. The box they were to SELL to me was no larger than a shoe box and the girl behind the counter informed me it would cost me $17.00. When I asked why so much, I was told she also had to put tape on it, as if that was to justify the amount. When I phoned Amazon and informed them of this action I was told UPS was not supposed to do that. Obviously UPS store was trying step outside their guidelines with Amazon and just trying to profit from my return. If I could offer a -0, I would. We recently used this store to ship a package to Chico, which we wanted there by April 28--the day of a birthday. Her staff assured us the box (shipped with them Thursday a.m.) would arrive on time ON SATURDAY. The staff recommended USPS shipping based on the fact that the birthday package was wrapped in brown shipping paper--something not an issue at the Santa Rosa store but UPS won't take them now apparently. Why they couldn't just shove it in a UPS box is anyone's guess. The package still has not arrived at its destination. It completely missed the birthday, and it is looking like it may not even get there until Tuesday. Seven days. I could have ridden my bicycle to Chico and delivered it faster, and my bike is a 3-speed! What really adds salty icing to the fruitcake of this awful experience is the manager. When I ran the tracking number Friday morning, I instantly saw that USPS had the package marked for Monday delivery. I immediately contacted the store because this is not what we were told to expect. The manager offered NOTHING. Only to say: "we are so sorry your package did not arrive on time. It doesn't happen often, but the postal system is not fool proof" when the package was STILL in San Francisco. It's like she copies and pastes this response into email whenever there is a complaint. No offer to call USPS to ask them for help in seeing if she could get the package expedited--telling them that her staff made a mistake. Instead, she kept pushing back at us like it was our fault for believing what her team promises. What idiots we are for thinking her staff knows what they are doing when customers specifically tell them a package has to be to a destination by a particular day. The manager's answer: "The post office delivery times are their expectations but they don't really stand behind them with any re compensation." Are you kidding me? And the staff recommends this delivery? I have mailed packages to Chico from other Santa Rosa stores without an issue. They always arrive on time. Amazon even manages to get packages to Chico on time. We would have used Federal Express if her staff had warned that the package would not arrive by Saturday. The manager refuses to take any responsibility and defends her staff because "we are Shipping People trying to do the best we can." Um no. No, you are not. You are in the "I take no responsibility for the service we did not provide and I won't help you because it will infringe on my weekend plans" people. Haven't used the printing/copying services here but the notary services are absolutely abysmal. Went in to get a document notarized for application of a emergency child passport. The notary signed the document with three different dates: June 26, 25 and 24 (it was actually June 26)! Yes, I should have checked the dates before I left but I just checked the signature, assuming that writing the date three times within 60 seconds that they'd be correct. The mistake cost me a trip to San Francisco: four hours of driving and 90 minutes sitting in the San Francisco Passport Agency. The $15 refund doesn't even get close to compensating! read more

I think its important to patronize local companies well, at least local franchises run by the whole family. And this UPS store I believe, is run by a family, or at least close friends. You get the feel when you walk through the door. Very friendly to customers and amoungst themselves, but incredibly slow. I came in with a USB to print off some concert tickets after my printer jamed at home. I had to wait ten minutes while two people boxed up four bottles of wine for some outta towners all the while two other people were having lunch in the back. When the woman finally attended to me, she didn't give me a price for the ONE SHEET of paper it would be. She simply took the USB and literally, ten minutes later came back with the copy. I couldn't believe she took so long to find the document, I rather thought she was snooping through the rest of them! I asked how much it would be and she charged me $2.50 for one stinkin' copy! I said Wow, thats alot. Her reply was: "Its the computer time, we charge for the work". I couldn't believe it. Why should the customer have to pay for staff who don't know how to work a computer quickly? And for one copy? Was it so long ago that copies were $0.05? Geez.... Wow....attitude. Went in to get a simple doc notarized. The notary was bent out of shape because she hadn't had time for her lunch or some such thing. I am sure it is a major travesty but not my problem. she muttered to herself about this personal trauma, had no interest in our doc, was clearly going to grudgingly do the work so finally I just took it and left. I don't know if any of the other workers standing watching this was the manager....I hope not, because they did nothing about it. read more
