I don't mind paying for things that are appropriately priced...but $2 for each shipping label, and $2 to tape up my box without asking was too much! I had tape in the car I could have done it for free no communication $9 but the shipping was paid for by the seller. I asked how much it would be and one person told me six but when the older lady rang me up it was $9 I think she gouged me. I've never been charged $2 for each shipping label ever! Guess I'll go to the 4th Street downtown next time $9!! I thought six was kind of high. read more

Unable to provide me with a large enough box to use for an irregular-sized package, the post office referred me to Pak Mail for what I needed. When I walked into store's lobby, however, it was immediately evident that they didn't have what I was looking for amidst their regular inventory. Despite this, the clerk was understanding of my needs and made an effort to find something that suited my specifications. He also took the time to help me make sure my items were packaged properly, as I had concerns about issues with the box that may arise in transit due to potential mishandling. Fast-forward to checkout: Turns out, my package was going to cost a steep price to ship through Pak Mail's shipping partners. Instead of taking advantage of my circumstances (and my would-be empty wallet), the clerk recommended I take my package back over to the post office and ship via USPS, so as to help me save on the overall shipping cost. The experience I had was a prime example of exemplary customer service and conventional human-to-human empathy; you can't get that brand of excellence anywhere else. Call me old-school if you want, but there's just some things all these apps and instant-gratification services will never be able to replace -- like visiting your local postman. Why for long distance like in the old days when it cost more to call long distance - no. The guy / owner was very friendly and it was $1/page - works for me, and they have everything there you need. What a terrible business! I came in after calling the business first, to ship a package, and the front desk help people were terrible! One associate was in training, so I understand a "little" bit more hassle, but not a wait time of a half an hour when nobody else is ahead of you in line. I was asked which shipping method I would like, and I chose the cheapest option; $29 after about 30 more minutes, and moving other customers ahead of me while I was the first one in line, they finally arrived at a price of $78! I told them they had made a mistake, and I wanted the first and lowest option. They informed me that $29 is the actual price, but their "up charge" results in a $78 price tag! Frustrated after waiting so long, and on my lunch break, I had no choice but to comply. He seemed excited to see me. He asked me how I was doing today. He calmed me down from my other experience and scanned my phone for me. Staff are nice, but business was closed unexpectedly for 3 days. If you pack your own package don't both to buy insurance. 7 pieces of crystal broke and they and UPS won't honor claim. They should tell you about UPS rules if they are offering an insurance package. Won't use them again. read more

Best place in town for Shipping, Keys and awesome friendly service. Postal service and all others. 1/2 the price as the UPS store and twice as efficient. I have become a convert to this place. My boss had me send some docs from here to a client and I was blown away at the staggering difference in price and service I got here. I wish it was as close to my house as the ups store in Rincon valley is because it would have saved me years or hassle and tons of cash. Whether it's for eBay, or personal this is the place to go. This PakMail is the BEST. I have brought countless free UPS and USPS returns here, meaning they make no money on those at all, yet every time, and it is a LOT of times, I receive a prompt receipt for my dropoff, a cheerful hello and a thank you. I always come here instead of the post office to mail things. Hardly ever a line, always professional and reasonably priced. Stamps, and the ability to know immediately whether you will ship most inexpensively via USPS, FedEx, or UPS, all at one location. The few times I have had to pay for express shipping due to my own lateness, I have been happy to spend the extra money here. And we get to talk college football with the owner. I am new to Santa Rosa and new to using Pak Mail, but they were in a small shopping center where I was and thought I'd just get my package mail since I was so close. Ashley explained that Pak Mail could look up all forms of mailing items, and we could choose the best one. That sounded logical, so gave her my package. The pkg. was being shipped with the state, and having been a long time ebayer, I knew about what it should cost, but was surprised that it was about $15.00 more than I anticipated. I was on a tight time line, so went home and thought about it, and also checked the usps and ups web sites that I normally use and found out I did over pay by $12.00 and $15.00. I called and spoke with Ashley and got nowhere, she hard a difficult time listening to my explanation, and said she " had no control over how Pak Mail charged, and I told her that of course, I thought they should get something for their efforts, but this was highway robbery. She basically said if I didn't like it I could come and pick up my package and mail it myself an another venue, which is what I did. Very poor costumer service, and when I retrieved my box the next morning, the gentleman at the counter was not helpful in any way. I will never use them again, and recommend you check for yourself online to get an idea of the cost of shipping before you let them rob your of hard earned money. read more
