I have been coming to this UPS location for 3 years. I've shipped regular products and also completed my Amazon returns here. I've never had an issue until today. Sometimes the Amazon boxes that get shipped to me arrive damaged so I switch the box out for a different box that is not affiliated with Amazon. I've never had an issue doing that until today. The woman helping was incredibly rude and immediately told me I had to buy one of their boxes if I wanted to do the Amazon return. She claimed they changed their policy in the last few weeks and now she can't process my return until I purchased a box from them. The box was $25, and the item I was returning was $30. For obvious reasons it doesn't make sense to purchase their box. The associate was so rude and condescending. I went to the UPS right down the street and they did the Amazon return without any issues, in the same exact box! Needless to say, I won't be coming here anymore. read more

This place must have started reading customer reviews and taking them to heart because I've noticed a remarkable change in the vibe since my initial review. Every time I go in now it's a pleasure to deal with the folks who used to be an issue, and still a pleasure to deal with those who were never an issue (though there seems to be a fair amount of turnover among the newer staff). I'd actually give them five stars but it's always nice to have something better to look forward to, and "perfect" may be a little too lofty a title as yet. This UPS store is the closest to me and proves itself a very convenient location. Next to Safeway it makes for handy two in one errand stops. What's great about them is they take all UPS pre-labeled packages with ease, and offer a receipt for tracking. Also helpful is they also accept USPS mail too. They are staffed well and always friendly. I also appreciate the great quality, super cute greeting cards featuring dogs or cats with fun captions. The parking area is a little cramped near the store front as it competes with a sushi restaurant, a nail spa, a chiropractor, Sutter express, and Jamba Juice. However ample parking is available in the Safeway lot. read more

This review is NOT meant as a reflection of the "friendly" staff. They're just trying to do their job within the parameters set forth by the franchise owner. That said, I don't know if either of the women at this location was the owner - but they seemed quite happy to provide a lecture on how I could have had a better experience... My last experience here occurred a few days ago... I will never set foot in this location again... There are other UPS stores in Santa Rosa with at least one location that I will review with 5 stars... Lastly - keep in mind that The UPS Store is a franchise and not related to UPS - the owner of this location also owns a location in Healdsburg and sets her own business practices that have nothing to do with UPS, Amazon or anyone else that directs you to use The UPS Store for your returns. I'm also a small business owner - so I do understand how to provide exceptional customer service that doesn't involve nickel and diming your customers. I was attempting to drop off an Amazon return. I knew from past experience that if your item hasn't been re-packaged prior to the drop-off, you will be charged. I wasn't prepared to be told it would cost $2 to seal an envelope. I came in with my shipping envelope open so that it made it easy for the clerk to scan the RMA paperwork that I'm also required to put into the envelope. The clerk then informed me it would cost $2 for a piece of tape to seal the envelope. I was standing there in disbelief and became really upset after she told me that I could either pay $2 to have them seal the envelope, or take it home and do it myself and bring it back... and then went on to tell me that I could have used my phone to show the RMA/QR code. I'm sorry - $2 for a piece of tape IMO is usury. I'm sorry that I lost my cool, but as I said up top, I will NEVER go to this location again because they just don't know how to provide great customer service. read more

I've been meaning to write this review for a while, specifically for Amy, if she's still working there. Amy is always sweet and friendly and very professional. Even when the line is out the door, she stays calm and composed, focusing on the customer she is helping. She makes sure to greet people as they come in the door, and let them know she'll be with them as soon as she can. Coming to the UPS store isn't always the most fun, but Amy is personable and friendly. By the time you finally get to the counter, she'll apologize for the long wait even though there's nothing she could have done about it. If she's able to, she'll help one person, and while they're filling out their forms, she'll try to start helping another person at the same time. She is very efficient and a great worker. I haven't seen her in a while and hope she is still there, or is doing something else she loves where she is valued. read more

In February, I paid the store a visit. While there, I witnessed a male employee yelling humiliating things at a female employee. I visit this store on a regular basis, and have always been put off by this guy. Very condescending, passive aggressive, and straight up creepy. It's a terrible shame, because I adore the UPS ladies there. They are always friendly, efficient, and go above and beyond for their customers. I haven't seen the female employee who was bullied by the male employee for a while now, but see him whenever I visit. Go figure. I can't leave a single star because that would devalue the fantastic efforts of the UPS ladies; let's just say I would visit a lot more frequently if I knew I didn't have to witness this guy abusing his coworkers. read more

There aren't a lot of options up here, but luckily this is a quality ups location. I've been here a few times now, including right when they open and right when they are about to close. Both times, despite being "those people" waiting at the door or trying to sneak in before it's closed, the staff was very friendly and helpful. I find it a little silly they charged me for tape to close a small box, and another time handed tape to someone for free. I'm hoping in the future everyone would get the free option since it's decimal dust for ups price wise, but goes a long way for quality customer service perception. Good spot. read more

By far the worse experience and I have ever encountered at this store from the "store owner". He tries to charge for already paid boxes and claims they are not "UPS". Pretty sure it says UPS store on the sign out front. I have dropped off a few packages here with no issues and very helpful associates. This rude and seriously egotistical "manager owner" stated they couldn't provide a box when Samsung returned clearly stated on the phone and in email the UPS store would provide one, he claimed I needed to buy one. I've sent out phones from this location before and didn't have pay for the box. He then starts to to argue about how they are not "UPS" but a franchise store but not UPS and if I wanted a box to ship it then I would need to go to the hub... I reiterate his statement 3 times to make sure I understand he was telling me his store "the UPS store" was not UPS and could not provide a box. After this guy Craig had made those statement, I was even going to pay for the box. He started to be smirk and said I could get the box somewhere else and slammed my $2500 phone on the counter, giving it back to me. I am not a person to get flustered over these things but just because you're a manager does not give you a right to belittle people or try to rip people off by charging for items that are already paid for by the returning company. read more

Really impressed with fingerprinting services! Start to finish took about 5 minutes. The employees are personable, knowledgeable, and efficient. The ability to do fingerprints without having to get a card sent out and visiting a notary (at no cost as well) just can't be beat. Highly recommended. read more

I have long wanted to write a review about this UPS store location, after years of repeated awful experiences and horrible customer service. Today was the last straw. I had several packages with pre paid USPS labels. I took 2 to the UPS store location on 4th street, inside Safeway, since it is fairly close to my home. I handed them my packages, and asked for a drop off receipt. No problem, got one right away. Then went home and had one more package to ship, but went to this location on Mendocino Ave. I walked in and handed the girl my package, requested a drop off receipt. She states "we don't do that". I explained that I was just at another UPS store location where they gave me one. "It is an individual store policy". (with an attitude). Right. I returned to the first location, where I told them what had happened at this store. They easily scanned my package and I got a drop off receipt. I asked him if this was, indeed, an individual store policy, and he stated " they can do it. They just didn't want to do it. All it takes is one extra step at the register". Take my advice: Never use this location. Go to the UPS store on 4th street, or better yet, the UPS store location on W College (they are amazing!!) I have had repeated issues with the staff at this location. Namely, most of them have an attitude, and really don't want to help you. This was not an isolated incident; this has happened repeatedly over several years. Never again. read more

Had a tough time getting a document notarized at "The Central Office" returning to the store on two separate occasions. The Central Office rep would not notarize my document due to feeling uncomfortable with the lack of direction from the traffic court stating to notarize a paper signed by me with thumb print and ID. I ended up driving 30 minutes to UPS to have a document notarized to prove my identity with signature, thumb prints and ID. No I didn't have much information to provide other than slightly vague direction from the traffic court but fear not this was not an issue here. The Richard had a simple template that I signed and accompanied with my signed document. The entire transaction here took less than 20min including making copies and mailing the notarized document. This truly made my day after a long day of work and dealing with this fraud situation since April and being out $411. This was my first experience at this location and I hope to continue future pleasant transactions! read more

When they leave the apt # that is plainly printed on package off the label insuring the package never gets delivered, or when UPS corporate tells you to ask them for a refund and they say "no", and ding-dong instead says the manager will call you but never does--this "Useless Parcel-Service" deserves to go out of business. read more

They were so positive, immediately helpful(except one gal, but each time I'm in she doesn't smile much, maybe difficult personal life), but other than that I would very much recommend this store! This location has been going downhill for the past year, I've had a box for five years and due to employees who haven't been trained on the mailbox computer I have closed my box. Six months ago things changed, the manager has messed up every month, I had auto billing and she didn't know. Every month my box was closed reopened, closed etc. The inexperienced boys she has hired are incompetent, are they 18 ? please train your employees! And remember "the customer is always right". They don't know what they are doing! I was treated badly and was not even contacted by Charlene except by text saying her youngsters were right. Customer is Always Right Charlene. read more
