Kara (spelling?) was fantastic! She went way above and beyond to assist me with our business not receiving our mail while moving between office spots. She showed so much empathy after seeing how depressed I was, and she asked for my number, and then did a deep search to find our mail. She then texted me to let me know she found it and that I could come back to pick it up. She not only made my day, she made my week, and possibly saved my job! If USPS has Employee of the Month, she deserves it! Such a nice, friendly person with exceptional customer service. I wish everybody was as caring as she is. Good job Cara, thank you USPS!!! I didn't think this post office could get much worse. I was wrong. My carrier hasn't changed. So There is no excuse for missing mail over the past 3 weeks. Informed delivery says delivered 3 hours after the carrier was physically at my location. (the carrier isn't updating her system regularly, which means her tracking isn't accurate. HMM I won't why that is happening?) I hate this annex. It is the only problems I have ever had with USPS are from the McBride annex. Five years now I've been dealing with this. read more

This location is never held accountable or responsible for in house theft or just failing to deliver. They never know anything, and employees will lie that they're the post master of the branch, just to get you off the phone. I walked to this location after reading the poor reviews thinking I would give it a chance and make up my own mind. While standing in line for service I read a sign stating this location is not full service and only available for drop off if correct postage was already paid. That was disappointing enough but as I was getting out of line I was mocked by the front desk attendant and very unhelpfully directed to the next closest location at Coddingtown mall. Staff aren't very friendly, but dropping off packages are OK. Don't expect speedy service for printing out labels etc. Word of advice: print out your own labels and use priority mail flat rate boxes if possible. Saves you a big headache with paying for postage and boxing it. You can get free boxes sent to you through the USPS website instead of having to deal with paying for postage etc in store. read more

Package was wedged into mail box so tight it can not be removed! Apparently the mail man was too lazy to walk 15' to the porch and leave the package. I have spent the last 2 hours trying to call. I would like to second "Ashley A"'s advice and suggest that you use another branch. Mostly this is a frustrated vent. I have been waiting for delivery of a signed, numbered fine art print. On Friday 10/12 I received the dreaded "peach slip" that indicated that the package could be picked up from the McBride branch. I called Monday morning to check on the package and was told it would be re-delivered on Tuesday. I hung around all day. It wasn't. I called again and spoke to the same woman who said the package wasn't there and "there's nothing they can do" and when I asked what my recourse was, she said "I guess you could buy another one." I've called four times, spoken to three different people, each of whom conveyed pretty clearly that they didn't give a rat's ass. Today, when I asked if anyone was actually looking for the package, "AJ" told me that wasn't their job. I was a government employee for a long time, and I used to get pretty upset when people would bash the whole bunch of us for a singular incident of poor service. My experience with the McBride branch of the Post Office has made me rethink this a bit. Our tax dollars at work, indeed. read more

Carelessly delivery man. About 2 months ago I ordered something online, my package went missing even on the their webpage said 'delivered' so I thought that they left the package at the door and someone stole it (never happened before living in this apartment complex for about 8 years). I contacted the merchant telling them I didn't received the package. Few days later when I saw a usps delivery man at the mail box I mentioned this to him and he asked what date was that and I told him then he said 'oh, that guy is new to this route but he's been doing this for 17 years' In the end the merchant had to send me another package to replace to missing one and this time it delivered with signature required and all went well. But 3 days ago the same thing happened again. I checked my package status online and it said 'delivered' since yesterday but I didn't see the package and I thought to myself 'not again, there's a thief around here or what?' . so I went down to the mail box and saw one mail box that you need to have the key from the delivery man to open - was open. I looked inside and there! my package was inside. So what happening is, the delivery man just put the key in the wrong mail box and lucky this time the person who had the key didn't take my package. So it must have been the same to my last package that went missing, whoever got the key from the delivery man had no moral and took my package. But it's all the delivery man's fault. But I felt relief tho that at least my apartment complex is a safe place, no thief around. read more

Only giving one star because I can't give zero. I paid for a box and label at the counter, the teller watched me put the package together and shipped it off. My recipient got a note left on her door to pick up the package and she had to pay an additional $10 to get the package because the label type I purchased wasn't allowed on the box type I purchased..again the usps teller watched me put this package together. They won't even give her a refund. Such a joke. FEDEX from now on. Update: I ordered AirPods online and for some reason they ended up stuck at this post office for 20 days I went in to try to receive my package and the workers said it was there but they didn't know where. Yesterday it was finally delivered. The bottom of the box was clearly opened and retaped, no AirPods anywhere to be found. There is no proof it was the workers but I highly get it was considering it was "lost" in their facility for 20 days and then delivered to be retaped and missing my item. Absolutely ridiculous, luckily I was able to get a refund. How do I stop future packages that can't be delivered from going here???! read more

They have lost four packages of mine in the last six months. There have been several times when the tracking says "undeliverable, no such address, returned to sender". WTF! My apartment building has been here for 20 years. The address numbers are so freakin big you could drive a truck through them! Every apartment is CLEARLY marked. The level of incompetence is staggering. I do not have ANYTHING delivered by USPS anymore. They do no take any responsibility for their mistakes, there is no recourse for lost packages, and the cost and aggravation is no worth dealing with USPS anymore. Be aware that even when you file the appropriate request, the McBride Lane station does not always honor requests to hold mail at the station when you anticipate a being out of town. Perhaps others have had better luck with this, but after trying for a period of more than 20 years, I find that my mail is always delivered directly to my unsecured curbside box before my hold request has expired. On the request form, I always indicate that I will pick the mail up myself at the station on a particular date. This request has been routinely ignored. I return from my vacation to find the mail waiting for me, unsafe in my curbside mail box, prior to the end of the hold period. read more

They have lost my package a few years ago. It was a projector worth 300$. The status of my package was "out for delivery" and stayed that way for 2 weeks. They had told me that the delivery guy would probably try again the next day. They said the same thing everyday after that. Finally I went in to the post office and they couldn't find the package there. That's when I filed a claim and it took a month for me to receive my check from USPS. It was a nightmare having to wait and go through all that. This is the WORST mail annex ever. The gentleman above is right, NEGATIVE stars. Mail is always late. many packages opened and things stolen of high value multiple times, NEVER any investigation follow ups and IT STILL KEEPS HAPPENING. Horrible custom service and RUDE postal workers. I had a lady give me serious attitude on more than one occasion at this postal annex on mccbride as well as them NEVER picking up the phone when I call, if they do, they are rude and frustrated. I dont know if they are short staffed and thats the higher ups problem but something needs to change with this annex... I have checked the mail updates online and some say delivered but are never delivered until the next day. We're not off to a good start. The first time I called, someone picked up the phone and then hung up. The next FOUR times I called, the phone just rang and rang and rang. Corporate USPS support was zero help either so don't bother calling them. I have two packages set to deliver tomorrow while I'm out of town and after reading these other reviews I'm concerned about whether or not I'll ever actually receive them. And if you want them held at the office, it'll cost you $11 per package! I will NEVER have anything shipped via USPS again especially if this office is the one it's going through. This post office used to be not so bad until they replaced the carrier. Our mailman knew us, knew our names, and never misplaced our packages. Now it's some old fat guy incapable of seeing that he may have made a mistake. That instance came up when my fiancee didn't receive a check he was expecting and we told the mailman that he probably put it in the wrong box. He refused to check saying there was no way he could have made a mistake. Sure enough, a week later, we got the check... From our neighbor. Now, today, I don't have a package that my email says that I should have gotten and I have no doubt my upstair neighbors have it and probably won't give it to me. Mail lady miss delivered my package, I went down to my local annex to file a complaint in hopes that I can get it back, being that it's a special order gift for my friends birthday. Steve-O did everything in his power to try and help figure things out, spoke with the carrier googled the address where it may have been delivered and so on. After all that we couldn't figure out what else to do. I left feeling pretty disappointed and was told the "manager" would figure it out, whom I was not able to speak too. After a couple hours I was on my way to work and Steve-O calls me and says he's found my package! It was there the whole time, the carrier did not scan it saying that it had been returned to the office. If Steve-O hadn't taken time out of his busy day to help me and continue to look for my package, when he could have just given up or ignored the issue, I wouldn't have my gift for my friend this weekend. Horrible! They misdelivered 4 items in one month. I live in a 4 plex with clearly marked apartment numbers. I almost lost my home because of a tenant related letter I never received that simply required paperwork. The other items were delivered to my neighbor, and luckily he passed them to me. When I told the delivery supervisor Kathy about the 4 items and that my daughter and I might be homeless because of their delivery mistakes, she laughed. She then apologized for laughing. There is something desperately wrong with this facility. I filed a report with consumer affairs, and that was a joke. They said the matter was taken care of because the items were delivered...Yes, but they were delivered to the wrong apartment! Four times in one month! Right after filing the complaint, the delivery person was angry and literally stood at my door and threw a package at my door, damaging the item. It was so loud I could hear it from inside, and I immediately opened my door. I've never spoken to the delivery people except to say hello in passing because I know they are busy, but when I opened the door and asked her to please not throw packages at my door. She ignored me and drove off. This is not just unprofessional negligence, it's criminal. If people can have packages sent through other companies, we should. I spoke to a seller on ebay who said I would not believe the problems they've had with USPS, and they are across the country. This is a systemic problem with USPS, but this particular office is the most corrupt I have ever encountered. read more

I returned from vacation expecting my held mail to be delivered on the approved date. It was not. And the next day still no mail. Having been gone a week I was expecting some important pieces including a vital income check and my new passport. I was more than a little concerned. I found an email site to respond to USPS for Santa Rosa to complain. I included the all- important case # and hoped for the best. Someone was supposed to get back to me in 24 hours. I was sceptical and worried. In less than 1 hour after submitting the complaint a letter carrier or supervisor, perhaps, came to my front door with my held mail. Included was the check and my new passport. Thank you to Tyler D and anyone else involved. This the 1st time in at least 30 held mail situations that there was a problem. I received a pink notice a few days ago to pick up my package. I went the following day to pick it up but they were not able to locate my package. When they finally found my box it was already opened and nothing was inside. I don't know why anyone would want to steal a Finite Math text book?! This is the worst post office I have ever had to deal with. The supervisor at this branch is the most rude woman....ever! I got 2 package notices in my mailbox and the next day went to this branch to pick them up. The lady at the window said she could not find the packages. I asked to talk to a supervisor and questioned what may have happened and what should I do. She said that she did not know where the packages were and and that there was nothing she could do because the mailman did not include the tracking number on the slips. I asked if she could talk with the mailman and maybe he could remember the packages....and she said no...she would never get anything done if she had to track down everyones packages. it says attempted delivery on the usps website but I know that's not true because I live in an apartment building (Pioneer 2000 Apartments, Santa Rosa, CA), where packages are dropped off at the office and the office manager and her assistant said they remembered the mail lady coming into the office and "throwing all of the packages on the ground". their words, not mine. Also I got one of my packages delivered today but not the other. This is a very important package so when I called to ask where it was or what had happened, Junaida, the manager of the US Post Office Annex, 2850 McBride Ln, Santa Rosa, CA (707) 526-0113 was extremely rude and unhelpful, telling me nothing except that it's not her fault and there's nothing she can do about it. She wouldn't tell me if or when it would get here or if there was anything I could to get it any faster. I'm going out of town tomorrow but she didn't seem to care about anything but getting off the phone. My mail gets here later and later everyday and I was shipped cookies for Christmas well I wasn't even notified that they had arrived until 3 weeks later. They were rotten.
