Lost package, Tried tracking it down with the number through the Guerneville post office, which, let's be honest, is like asking a goldfish to solve a Rubik's cube. I asked them anyway. I talked to Heckle and Jeckle, the Olympic champions of Not Knowing a Damn Thing. These two geniuses were confidently spewing fairy tales, just making stuff up like they were workshopping new material for Post Office Stand-Up Night. "Oh yes, sir, your package is... uh... on a truck... or in a bin... or in a vortex? Maybe in space? Let's face it: the package is gone. Obliterated. Launched straight into the abyss by the world-class squad of "I can't even spell tracking number" experts down there. The truth is they lost it, and instead of admitting it, they're over there playing Mad Libs with customer service. They'll say they can't find your package, then deliver it to someone else an hour later. Absolutely atrocious levels of customer service. There's little to no regular staff, just rejects from other nearby locations being shuffled through. Most days they can't even accept cash or provide basic services. read more

8 times out of 10 i have a hard time getting my packages from this post office. Today, i flagged down the carrier, who said he didnt have mail for me, then immediately called the office, who couldnt find it. Then a half hour later my tracking number was updated to "delivery attempted" i cant even describe how furious that makes me. read more

We have had nothing but issues since we moved to Guerneville Dec. 2023. Medication not delivered and returned to Kaiser. Packages being held for several days after they've arrived only to be retrieved when I go to the post office and ask where it is. read more

They are rude , and unprofessional.The women postmaster , has no business dealing with the public.l. I have been coming into the office for over 3 :years visiting the counter at least 3 times a month and dealt with the Poster master on multiple occasions .Never has any of the interactions with her been with out a rude and condescending attitude. She embodies everything that you don't want in an employee much less a supervisor that instructs others. read more

Abysmal service at this post office. I've lived around the area my whole life, and any interaction with this post office has ALWAYS been negative. Paychecks do not arrive on time, important dates like court summons arriving days later than the DEADLINE date. Trying to expect mail to come at a reasonable hour? Some nights you gotta wait till 8 PM to get your mail from the post office. And so with all of the negatives of the delivery, surely if you just go in, it's good right? WRONG. I went in to pick up a package addressed to my grandmother that had an 'arrival' scan but hadn't been loaded onto a truck in the morning for delivery so instead of waiting an entire day, she asked me to go get her package for her. After looking it up on the official USPS website, either on the back of a form or on a plain piece of paper with the words "[NAME] has the permission of {Addressee name} to pick up their mail." And then signed by the addressee, this being my grandmother. I also took my photo ID to show them as the website stated, and when I tried to pick up the package, the first lady said she couldn't do anything with a note and then referred me to the Post Master (Who should very much not be holding his position). Once I started speaking to the Post Master and explaining my grandmother has a bad hip and back and was laying at home and asked me to pick up her mail, I went over what I had read regarding pickups, and he sits there and nods and when I get to the end he goes real slow and points at the name "How do I know who that is?" Uhh, I don't know, you have their written permission, you have their handwriting on file, you have the package addressed to them, and you have MY ID. If I was in here trying to take something why would I be showing my ID to you? Regardless, he said "If you bring her in her we can help you." Not budging on anything. Alright. So I drove back home, woke my grandmother up, had to get her out of bed with her bad hip and back, and go to the Post Office again. This time, the Post Master didn't even interact after how rude he was, he avoided my Grandmother and me completely and let the first woman handle us. Except, they actually COULDNT DO ANYTHING since the package had only just arrived that morning and apparently they were 'still sorting through the mail'. What good is a post office when you can't even pick up your mail being held there? Why did they have me drag my grandmother out of bed when she's in pain and just wants to rest, only to tell me they actually CANT do anything? This place has a high turnover rate with any postal worker who isn't the Post Master. They have a 'crime prevention sheet' tacked to a board inside written on TYPEWRITER. Do not expect any kind of reputable service here. read more

Major issues with our post office. They closed my box and changed my locks without bothering to give me my bill so that I would know that it is due. Ridiculous? Yes, but further exploration on the issue revealed that it is the customer's responsibility to know when its time to pay your annual or semi annual fees otherwise you forfeit your box. Just a word to the wise. Additionally, the after hours entry box doesn't work so no one who cannot make it during regular hours is out of luck! It would be nice if they would please fix it but no one at the counter seems to have any authority to get that accomplished. Its challenging as I cannot receive mail at my home as it is very rural and not an option so the post office is my only mail option. Get it together folks at the guerneville office please! read more

I pay for amazon prime but never get my USPS packages on time because of this post office. My packages are always late and tracking says "held at customer request" or "delivery attempted, no access to driveway or front door". I went to go pick up a package that said "held at customer request" and they wouldn't give it to me because I didn't have a slip. When I asked why it was held and not delivered I was told "they didn't have time". I never have any problems from FedEx, UPS, DHL , or any other delivery service even white glove delivery that drives way farther than the post office right down the street from me. I find it hard to believe they "don't have time" to deliver dozens of my packages over the years, they are just lazy. read more

The new clerk Christine is rude and told me that my street address does not receive mail. Three time she told me that I needed to contact Amazon and give them the correct address. I have lived at the same address for 40 years and UPS, FedEx, On trac and DHL deliver regularly. When I told her that the address was current and accurate she would not listen. I made a formal complaint and the Post Master Ron asked me to call back. I called 5 times and no one answered the phone and the call did not offer a message service. I called the next morning to discuss the situation and he apologized for the bad service. I decided to go elsewhere to mail packages and Forestville PO gave 5 star service. Am I the only one who noticed an adult depends diaper next to the stairs leading to the front post office door? The diaper sat there for at least 6 weeks this spring. Surely that is a sign that the post master does not care. read more

I saw a review saying that they are still closed from the flood, and that's not true. The office has been re-opened for ages. The staff is helpful & kind, parking is easy, and there's a drive-by mailbox. Best U.S.P.S. in the whole dang town! read more

The Guerneville Post Office is still closed after the floods in early March. If you look in the windows, there's just a dirty floor -- no reason for closure. They want us to go all the way to Occidental to pick our mail up. I think they're just being lazy about cleaning the place. read more

I'm currently out of town and need to speak with a live person regarding my mail hold. I've been calling for days and no one picks up the phone. I called the 800 # for main usps to speak to them, was on hold for 1 hour, 20 minutes then disconnected. Called back and on hold for 35 minutes and still holding. This is ridiculous. Hire more people if you're unable to service the citizens of your jurisdiction. read more
