We needed my ID shipped and paid a large sum to get it sent overnight with guaranteed Saturday delivery. When I tracked and then called the 800 number for assistance, I was told that the package never made it out of the store. I called the store in the morning and the lady was completely rude and promised a call back that never came. The owner of another store on Vineyard ended up making phone calls to help me, and confirmed that this store didn't do their due diligence. Still waiting on my call back as my ID sits in KENTUCKY when I had guaranteed delivery from Livermore to LA. At this point I'm going to beat it home and deal with having to get it back. I went in to drop off a package for return and see if I could get a passport photo. I was able to do both in a VERY short amount of time, which I really appreciated considering it was the holiday rush! Gary (manager?) took my photo and printed it out. I usually come to this UPS store in Livermore on First Street by Safeway as it is close to home. Today I dropped 4 packages for return to Amazon. One of the return label on a package was not clear enough. The woman who was helping me asked if I can email the label to her so she can print it. Did not tell me that there will be charges. After printing, she said it's $3.37 but because she's only printing a copy that it will cost me $3.00. Mind you it is not the cost that bothered me. At the end, when she rang me it showed $3.50. I questioned her why $3.50 when she said it'll be $3.00. She said, no i told you it's $3.50. I was not in the mood to argue for a small change but it's the principle. Tried to do an Amazon return today. For some reason I didn't get a QR code from Amazon. I went in and asked for the label to be printed and was told 3.50 for the label and 1.50 for the tape. I can see 1.00,maybe 1.50 but 5.00!! I understand a business has to make money but what a ripoff! read more

Lady wouldn't take them stating they needed to be shipped in a box. I told her this is what it was shipped in to my door. This is the second time this has occurred. I've been to this location frequent enough before COVID to know who the owner is. It's never been a warm/fuzzy feeling. But, the other employees have always been friendly, said hello, and when asked if I could leave the package, no-receipt necessary, I'd get "sure, just set it over there" etc " with a smile. I actually feel bad for them working there and apparently is why there is always a "help wanted" sign in the window. This review is not about the employees. I've ventured out a handful of times since March due to a severely compromised immune system and sole caregiver of two children and a senior. Staying healthy is extremely important without anyone else to look after my family should I become severely ill. We are following the rules and so were the 10+ people in this tiny store (that had only 4 or so "dots" on the floor social distancing). They were all wearing masks over their nose and mouth and trying to distance in the small space. Thank you fellow Livermore friends for doing so! I have been to this location twice in the last 2 months to run in and drop off an Amazon return. Once with a pre-printed label that Amazon received promptly. The second time the seller would not accept packaged and pre-printed returns, rather return to a UPS store with just a bar code. Last week I got a message my return was not received and I would be charged. Thankfully Amazon has removed the charge and hope all others with this issue contact Amazon so they know the UPS stores losing them! Thankful Amazon will still process your return despite no evidence of it being shipped to them. I still didn't write a bad review, but today... I felt compelled to leave a review beyond the rudeness of the owner I've written off to cultural differences and making nice just isn't her thing, though it should be running a store. She wore her mask on her chin the entire time (20 min), didn't follow social distancing with her own "dots" to space customers on the floor (asking to come stand next to another customer), barked at a woman trying to squeeze a squishy (probably clothing) package into the USPS mailbox (which I am thinking she doesn't like to have at all as it's not the first time to hear her snarky with someone needing something from USPS and charging a big surcharge on those items, and was less than a foot from another customer's face ahead of me shipping a package. She completely ignored her plastic "shield/screen" even as she leaned over his package speaking loudly ignoring how close she was or even trying to protect a customer. I'm so sorry lady that this is inconvenient to you but for God's sake be thankful you still have a business with a line, that incidentally should have run outside the door.. please be thankful for what you still have as many have lost so much more! None of us believe we are ill or have deadly germs and I pray none of us do! However, numbers show otherwise so let's take care of each other. For God's sake if you own a business this is blatant lack of regard for your customers beyond being unfriendly. She waved me over to come closer as my package was already on the counter moved down from the young man that wasn't able to help ship anything without an Amazon code. I politely declined and said I would wait from where I was. Not that it matters, I'd been in the store almost 20 minutes waiting for only her as nobody else knows how to ship anything from the UPS store without a barcode or pre-printed label. That's just bad management not to train others but maybe they all just leave to quickly to bother. All safety matters aside, I'd mentioned I had calculated a flat rate of around $18 from my home scale and the website to ship. It didn't matter how slow it got there. She gave me a rate twice that and said "our rates are not the same as home". Duh, they should be better.. yes, it's twice the price if I ship from home, but should be $15 from the UPS store plus extra for insurance for around $18. She told me that is the home price and it was $36. Nope, wasn't paying that and wanted to get the heck out of there. I will never return after today even though it's so close and convenient. I will drive to the other side of town or another city altogether. Her lack or regard and compassion for others in the community has compelled me to find establishments that follow guidelines and care for their customers. Incidentally - I have printed the label from home for half the price for a flat rate package she apparently didn't want to give my and includes insurance. I've been going here for about 6 years now. They have always been friendly, efficient, and sincere. The front counter staff has rotated slowly for a small business. That's a busy lil shop but they always move the people through quickly. I was shocked to see the negative reviews on here. If I could give less than a 1 star I would. Went in there to buy a box to ship and was charged $18 for one. I wasn't told the price until my package was packed up so I couldn't change my mind. I then thought, "well maybe they just charge a little more because it's a ups store". So I asked for a price list for their boxes to which they told me they can't give me that...your a store that sells boxes and you can't give me a price list for the boxes you sell? This is a classic example of price gouging. I could have just bought a $4 box from anywhere and dropped it off but instead I got rolled. I will never go here to purchase ANYTHING only to use their drop-off service. If you are going to up pricing on shipping materials to increase store revenue than that's okay but you better at least have a pricing list. So I used to frequent this location because it was convenient. I saw the poor reviews on Yelp and figured those were outliers. But, alas, I was burned by this location so I will never go here again until the ownership changes. It started when I visited this location to perform 4 return shipments during the 2021 holiday season. After I had my items scanned, the lady said she ran out of paper to print me a receipt. I've never heard this excuse before so I didn't know how to react. She said I could check my tracking numbers for shipping verification. The problem was I didn't have a copy of the tracking numbers on me at that time, and I didn't realize until it was already too late. I should have just taken my packages back and went to another ups store location. Two of the items I shipped were phones to my carrier; they only had a true value of $100 each but my phone carrier provided $800 credit for each phone. So imagine my disappointment when I found out that only one of the 2 tracking numbers for my old phones was verified as being shipped back. Long story short, I eventually got the credit back from my carrier, and this took multiple calls to their customer service. Since I could only prove one phone was shipped it made this process very difficult. My carrier may have lost my return, so I don't even know if both my phones were ever shipped. Since $1600 of credit was at stake, I aggravated over this situation for 2 months until my carrier resolved this issue. So if you must go to this location, please be very careful to make sure they provide a receipt for your items. read more

Brought in some packages for Amazon returns. Had to make two trips because they were pretty big. Worker scans them in and gives me a receipt. I notice a while later that Amazon never received one of my returns from that day. I look at the receipt (yes I should have checked more carefully that day) and the one that amazon never received was one that they didn't scan in. So where is it? It already had the prepaid UPS label on it with the correct destination. Why didn't they scan it in? If they forgot to scan it in while I was there, why didn't they scan it in later? It would have been extremely easy to 'forget' to scan a package in when I had so many of them and hope I didn't notice it wasn't on the receipt and then just take it. I'm not saying they did this, but why is the one package they didn't scan while I was there is the one that Amazon didn't receive. So....where is it? I would recommend you never go to this UPS store, based on this experience. read more

I use this store frequently to return Amazon.com orders, as needed. The Amazon return instructions clearly state that "The UPS store will scan QR code, pack, and ship your return for FREE", but on my most recent visit, I put the items in the box it came in, but did not seal it. The store owner charged $1.50 to seal the box, but when I pointed out the Amazon instructions, she advised this is not the policy. I've used this particular location a couple of times and was never overly impressed with their service, but I never had any issues either, until the other day. I shipped a package and it was ruined in transit to its location. Once I found out this had happened I called The UPS Store because I've never dealt with this before and wanted to find out how to resolve the issue. They were less than helpful and basically told me it's my problem and I need to call UPS. -Funny I thought you were UPS?? When the package was returned to The UPS Store for me to pickup the lady working there (Harpal?) proceeded to tell me in front of all the other customers in the store how I used an old/worn out box for shipping, how I didn't package the box correctly, and that they were denying my claim. She didn't have too much to say after I told her that I had purchased the box brand new from her the day before it was shipped and still had my receipt. Also when I told her I took pictures of how it was packaged because the equipment was expensive. Finally that I've shipped hundreds of things over the years and it doesn't take a genius to package stuff correctly. Long story short I'll never be using this location ever again, I'll drive across town to the one with better reviews and I highly suggest you do the same. read more

I have now experienced the reason why this store has such low ratings... I went to this location to return an Amazon package. The Amazon return stated I did not need a box just bring product in and they will pack and ship. I brought it to this location in the box sent by Amazon and the woman at this location stated I needed to pay $1.50 for tape I asked why would I pay for tape if I didn't even have to bring a box when I asked for my product back since I have done this several time at several different UPS stores with no issues she then stated she will tape it for me for free.
