After a frustrating experience at trying to ship out time sensitive packages at the midtown UPS, decided to try out the Rice location. I've had marginally better experiences shipping out of this location than midtown. By marginally I mean there isn't usually a line out the door, but definitely still always feels like a queue. Rolled up at 8:15am. Again, store was completely empty with no one inside. There were several cars in the lot just waiting. We waited for five or so minutes and watched other frustrated patrons trying to open the door. Again, the sign outside clearly states they open at 8am. What an absolutely terrible experience and waste of time. Shipping is already annoying enough. But hate how you can't even get there early to avoid the crowds. I guess you just always have to show up in the middle of the day and stand in line for an 15-60min before an overworked and disgruntled employee takes your package. read more

I work as a medical courier and drop and pickup packages from many UPS Stores throughout the Houston and surrounding areas. The store on Rice Blvd offers by far the best customer service and friendliest environment! The store manager Mario does an excellent job running this store, maintaining it and always happy to help me with tracking my packages and shipping as well! I highly recommend this store. They do not have accountability of packages that they receive. All they say is the UPS drivers are responsible. I had a package that i sent a week ago and has not been received. The staff do not care. Very disappointing and frustrating. They do not have answers for packages except blame if on the UPS drivers picking up. They allowed me to even go look for my package myself and all packages are just piled up like junk! read more

Areli was possibly the most helpful person I have ever dealt with regarding the shipment of an item. I had an irregular shaped painting that I wanted to send to New York City. She did not have a box that met my requirements. It would take seven or more days to have a box made and I really wanted to get this item in the mail as soon as possible. Areli helped me find a vendor with boxes that met our requirements. She was courteous and incredibly professional. The location of the store is so convenient and all of the personnel were very attentive. I would highly recommend this UPS location for any shipping needs. read more

If you've ever dreaded having to return something to Amazon via UPS, this is the exact store location you should try. I did, and was lucky enough that a lady named "Celeste" was working. She made the entire process a breeze - and even helped me locate where the necessary return bar code was in my Amazon App. She scrolled through and explained everything in the friendliest way. I realize other locations are great, too - like the family-owned one on 34th and Ella which opened not too long ago. Their people for the most part are wonderful, but there is just something special about the UPS store in Rice Village and the workers there. read more

1/10 would NOT recommend Not sure how you can run a UPS store when you don't have WiFi for customers when you're in a complete dead spot for any AT&T carrier. What a joke of a store. I mean half your business is shipping and if you can't pull up a shipping label or an address because you have no service what's the point. Parking may be a problem depending on when you go. There are 2-3 dedicated spaces in front of the store. I was in & out in about 10 minutes. Employee was not visible upon entering but was promptly greeted, and took care of my needs in a very efficient manner. read more

When I walked into this location at 11am on Monday, it was eerily quiet... There were three employees standing at the back counter, but there was an obvious lack of noise- no printers whirling, no boxes being thumped onto squeaky hand dollies, no one shuffling through packing papers... just silence. When I asked about a notary I could practically hear my voice echo.. echooo... They charged $12 for one signature on one page which I'm pretty sure is above the limit allowed by the state. Also, the notary lady made me write down my Driver's License # in the ID box. I knew I shouldn't have done it because I knew that wasn't required but I gave in to her insistence. But then I went home and looked at my own notary documents and reaffirmed that you are especially supposed to NOT write down Driver's License #s. That really bothers me that my ID number is on a notary's log that will be pulled open and laid out in front of people. read more

This UPS location has some great employees. I was really flustered tonight, because I was trying to fax a few pages related to my bar exam application and the fax machines hadn't worked at FedEx. I was dropping off a couple of pre-labeled packages for shipping and picking up packages that I received notice that were holding for pick-up....no big deal right. The young lady accepted my packages, looked at the labels and said would you like a receipt? Yes please, if not too much trouble? With a big smile she said, never a problem. Wow! A smile, great attitude! A refreshing experience in this hustle bustle world. I'm definitely pleased with the changes that have taken place this year at this location. DO not ship from this location. We sent a usps certified letter and not only did they double our charge that the usps would charge but they also lost the letter. They didn't inform us of the $9 up charge for a certified letter which can't be scanned for tracking information. The manager Celeste was rude and did not want to give me her information. read more

Brought in something to ship, employees were less than helpful. Employee priced out the shipping cost and tried to overcharge me. I know you have to measure stuff and find the right box, employee did neither. Took my shipment to a different location charged me $30 less for shipping exact same item. Place is either a rip off or the employees don't know what they are doing. I think its both. Parking isn't easy but since I walk in, drop packages and walk out again I feel comfortable parking in any space, not just UPS spaces or even double parking. The employees are fast and friendly. I like this store. read more

I always avoid the United States postal service at all costs so I tend to drop my USPS mail off at UPS. The UPS location in Rice Village has great customer service. I always leave satisfied. This has become my go to location for all of my mailing needs. Yes, the parking isn't the best but it's RICE VILLAGE. Typically parking at the store front isn't always easy at all the stores in this area unless you want to pay. But like everybody else who wants to park for free you can just go to the garage and walk around. But if you have a huge package you don't want to haul around the parking is 15min max so it'll open up soon enough. read more

I sent a package to a client of mine from Poshmark. it was a very nice expensive dress that was a wedding receiption dress . The dress label was emailed to them and they printed out at their store by their employee and stuck on the wrong box. They sent this box to wharehouse and was unable to retrieve this dress. The dress should have gone from Houston Texas to McKinney Texas and ended up in another far off state. I spoke with ebony the manager and she reassured me it was their fault and they were on helping me find a resolution and would correct this mistake as their employee was fully at fault. This dragged on another week and no call back. I called again and went into the store where i was promised a check for the value of the dress. That turned into another run around of give me an hour and the owner would be in and they would reimburse me on my credit card rather than have to come back in the store. I called again and she never called back and i was promised the owner would call me. I called back again after patiently waiting another week ( i am a month in and my client needs her dress asap ) no response. I call again and was informed there is another manager and ebony is gone until further notice due to a death in the family and no one knows when she will return. He then told me he was aware of the situation and i told him the owner has never called me once. He was shocked and called him and called me back when i threatened small claims courts ( my first call back in two months ) and informed me the owner refused to do anything . I have contacted the BBB a well as hired a lawyer on this. I am now out of a $695.00 dress and had to explain to a client on he reception dress because the store owner knows zero about customer service when HIS EMPLOYEE makes the mistake and the manager agrees and they do zero to make it right. My Husband's company spends hundreds of thousands per year shipping items through ups. DO NOT SHIP ANYTHING at this store what so ever !!! read more

I went in to drop off some packages... Had to fight limited parking and a UPS truck taking a couple parking spots. It turns out they don't take UPS accounts. :( They were very friendly and said I had to go to another UPS store several miles away which they did give me the name/address/phone number of. You would think "THE UPS Store" would take UPS but I'm guessing it's a franchise and they don't make any money on account-based shipments. Don't go here if you want to ship something with a shipper ID. read more
