Don't ship or drop off anything valuable at this store. I dropped off the package that had a UPS pre-paid shipping label and was given a drop-off package receipt. And that was the end of it. The customer opened a depute 2 weeks later and I realized the tracking just shows "Drop-off". Now I'm out $400 and the inconvenience trying to recoup it back with UPS refund claim. Some con working there is probably opening and stealing the content they like. I'm also filing a report with BBB and the Illinois state attorney's office about this. read more

I do not live in Chicago. However, I recently purchased a valuable Lalique Vase at Hindman's Auction in Chicago via the internet and needed a vendor to pack and ship the item to me. I requested quotes from several vendors on the list Hindman's provided and the UPS Store #3571 on Van Buren was very responsive and easy to deal with by email. And as a PLUS, their price was much better than any of the others. So I held my breath and took the leap to try them. Boy, was I happy with the results! They picked up the item from Hindman's, packed it EXPERTLY and sent it out immediately. I strongly recommend you try this store if you ever have shipping needs in Chicago! read more

Each time I have visited this store, I have been met with the utmost professionalism and support for my packaging and printing needs. Perhaps, it is the change in management that has happened over the years, but, I have never had an issue with this location. Derrick, the current store manager is very knowledgeable, attentive to detail, professional, competent, and sensitive to customer needs and concerns. The team at this store is also phenomenal. Two packages/returns have gone missing after dropping them off at this store. The first time I did not keep the receipt and thus had to eat the cost of the package. The second time I learned my lesson, and nine days after dropping off an Amazon return, it appears to once again be lost in the ethos. I contacted the store directly and was offered no explanation or even apology. I was just told to contact UPS corporate. I'm now having to spend time and energy contacting corporate and the retailer to try to get my money back because this store apparently cannot be trusted with packages. Shipper beware. read more

We own a small business, and we've done business with this UPS store for the last two years. We've enjoyed the staff. Unfortunately, the staff recently said the owner (Manish) no longer wanted us dropping off USPS at the store. I would have appreciated a recommendation or forewarning, but apparently, the owner is not interested in taking care of a high-volume customer. I won some paper items in an auction in Chicago, and had to arrange to have the item shipped to me. I contacted UPS Store #3571 and they quoted me $120 to mail this small box with UPS Ground shipping. I agreed, since I had no other choice and paid the inflated price. The item was shipped and did not arrive on time. According to UPS, their deliveries are guaranteed or your money back. I asked the store to refund the shipping portion of my shipment. They ignored me. I sent it again, they ignored it again. Finally on the third attempt after threatening to complain to corporate they replied. First they tried to tell me that UPS does not guarantee Ground shipments. I showed them that is not true, and even called UPS to confirm. Then they tried to tell me that it was delivered on time. I showed them that was not correct also. And then finally, the last response was, that UPS STORE does not guarantee, only if you ship directly through UPS. So, in other words the reward for paying their exorbitant rate which is much higher than UPS rates, you lose the benefit of guaranteed delivery time? This is a business operating under the name if UPS and using that to mislead people into thinking they are dealing with UPS. I am entitled to some refund of the fees I paid. read more

They ripped me off today and it really irritates me. I came in with my package already ready to go and taped up, etc. I said "I need to ship this the cheapest way possible, but I do need tracking." I forked over $9.64 for a 1lb package which apparently they decided to process as "Store packed." I'm sorry, but "Store Packed" my arse! I did not pick the packaging there, I brought my own. And I taped it with MY OWN clear duct tape. The jerkface added an extra piece of tape on the front for whatever reason, slapped on a label, and unbeknownst to me (just saw it on my receipt), charged me for "Store packing." Such a dang ripoff. I'm going in tomorrow with another box just like this one (I purchased a new comp. charger and then needed a replacement, so I had 2 boxes) and asking them to do the same thing and then see what they come up with. I have purchased packaging from them before with the same weight and not paid HALF of that. Grr. I'm completely irritated-such a ripoff. read more

Okay, I know I said I wouldn't go back, but I did. I was in a rush and needed a box to go out quickly. The transaction was quick and without issue. Maybe the former problem was a one-day thing or just a little complicated. There was nothing remarkable about the service, but I did enjoy how quick it was and how I didn't need to fill out any forms. FedEx is slow as can be, sometimes. THE ABSOLUTE WORST UPS IN THE ENTIRE WORLD! They shattered our $600 sign that we trusted them to send us to a trade show in Vegas. We purchased insurance. When we called them to ask what we needed for proof the lady said "only pictures of the sign." We kept the piece even though it was a pain to carry around a shattered glass sign + when we filed the claim they told us we need pictures of the box. Well with Mandalay Bay's heightened security they threw out the box once we said we didn't need it so this wasn't possible. The nightmare began when calling them. The women there are complete morons. They repeat themselves over and over "do you have a picture of the box yet." After we've clearly stated 100 times we don't because they told us we didn't need it. They never call back, they're rude! It's awful. Only decent one there is Charles and even he never follows up. Save your money and go to fedex, usps or dhl. Out $600 because of the people here. read more

High employee turnover. Poor employee knowledge. None of the associates know the difference between registered and certified mail. Once you explain to them the difference they still forget critical parts of the process. If you don't hand hold through the process your certified mail won't be processed correctly. Bottom line: do not use for business purposes. Their inadequacies will prevent your documents from arriving on time and without error. read more

This store doesn't do well when it's busy. I came to this location because I don't live far. I usually go to Fedex for my printing needs but decided to do UPS. I emailed me them the file I needed in the store. They confirmed that they received it. Said they would get it together for me. There were two employees working. More customers came in and they attended to about 3 customers that came in after me. There's was no "I'll be with you or give me a second." I was very calm and patient. After 20 minutes I decided to leave. This happened Monday 10/2/17 in the evening. It wasn't a complicated order. When I got home they emailed me my order was ready after I spent 20-30 minutes in the store with no additional acknowledgement and no apology. I think they just assumed I would wait and let others behind me get serviced. Very disappointing. Shouldn't prioritize other customers over another. read more

Most importantly, she provided shipping consultation that saved me substantial money, a recommendation that had not been given by the UPS clerk my friend had used in California when he shipped identical materials in identical packaging out to me. Without having to be asked, she took care of the supplemental packaging requirements necessary to facilitate her suggested method. Easily the most painless and pleasant shipping transaction I've enjoyed to date. Would go out of my way to avail myself of her services again. read more

I have to run a lot of errands for work, and a lot of them are mail related. Instead of having to trek it to the obnoxious post office I pop in across the street to my helpful neighborhood UPS Store. The guys that work here are life savers. Every time I get some special mailing request I go over there fill them in and they help me out. It's my one stop shop for everything mail related. read more

I needed to deposit some money orders with USAA. I called 9 other locations in the city, and no one was able to help me (one person literally had no idea what I was talking about). I finally heard that this store could deposit for USAA customers. Rolled in on two separate days with a total of 4 items to deposit, and despite system and scanner glitches, the team was able to make my deposits go thru. Nate was particularly helpful and really persistent in just trying every option until it worked, even though it took a long time and he had a lot going on. Great customer service!! I was overcharged for printing and had no recourse! This UPS Store is really close to my home and I needed to print out a document quickly. In order to print, you have to swipe your credit card beforehand. This is not uncommon and although I was annoyed that a $10.00 hold was required, I needed the document quickly so I proceeded. I opened up my document and waited for it to print out to confirm it was successful before closing out the session. Meanwhile, the printer stalls for some reason and so an associate has to come over and fiddle with it to get it working. I get the document, close everything out and then comes my receipt. I was charged $0.30 a minute to use the computer. So, my 1 page black and white document cost me $1.39! I asked the associate if there was another way to print and he said no. So I get charged for the 4 minutes it takes me to open the document and send it to the printer, I ask. He said yes, because they have a problem with people being on the computer all day. I pointed out that $1.39 for one page of printing is exorbitant. The associate says, "yeah, I can see that." End of conversation. Needless to say, I will not be returning here for printing or anything else. I'll walk a few extra blocks to their competitor that has much better technology and pricing transparency. read more

Absolutely horrible. Spent an hour with a customer service rep trying to get my package shipped via Air Freight. The rep didn't know how to ship other than UPS ground. She was alone in the store and had to call 3-4 different people to figure out how to complete the transaction. I paid extra to have it shipped in two days. I left the store confident that the package would arrive on time. Three hours after dropping off the package, I received a call stating that it would cost an additional $400 to ship it two day air. I was told they wouldn't ship unless I paid the additional fee. After some back and forth, they agreed to come down to $52, only to tell me later that it would be an additional $112. The good ole bait and switch. I called UPS corporate customer service only to be told (after talking to nine people) that the UPS store is a franchise and they have no control over the franchises. Want satisfaction; go to a UPS shipment center or better yet, fed ex. Avoid this place at all costs. My package never got delivered, and I feel completely screwed over by this store and their greed. read more
