This UPS Store has finally turned around - new staff and they are much more efficient and provide great service! I would highly recommend!

For anyone who ships anything during the holiday season, you know costs go up and availability drops. Its nice to have a place where you can just 'set it and forget it' to borrow a phrase. Not only was the service better than expected (you know how people can be when its really busy and everyone's patience is wearing thin for both sides) but the employee who helped my wife and I get our packages out seemed new to the job, but she kept calm and soldiered on, even found me a cheaper rate than I was anticipating! It was still expensive - the package would've been about half what was quoted if we're talking outside the holiday schedule. I wish I could recall their names but if you've been there before, you know them - except maybe not the new lady, but maybe you do. I know I'll be back because its convenient and I appreciate good service when I get it. read more

This is my local store and I've built a good working relationship with them. A few months ago they renovated which made it modern and bright! Here's what y'all. Be nice to the people that show up. In these fungalitis times, people don't want to come to work, have quit or just don't show. I have seen this across varying retail business, where people are operating with skeleton crews. So yes, they will close early, or simply not open. Would you want to work all day without a break, or deal with people with nasty attitudes because you decided to come to work? That beings said, get over yourselves. These are first world problems. To the person that said that the "light complexion female... is the most rude and ghetto" shame on you. Is your Amazon and USPS package THAT important? Anywho, stepping down off my soap box. I came to this UPS on 1/4/2022, right after a snow storm in these Prince George's Streets. At first, yes, I was a little peeved when I saw a small line formed and several people waiting plus no one in sight. Then I realized that there was ONE person in the store handling all of these things by herself. She was handling returns, sending packages, sealing packages, answering the phones, etc. From what I could see, she did the best that she could with the situation, separating the individuals that had Amazon returns, since they were quick and those that had other items. All of the things were done with a good attitude while laughing and being cordial with the customers. No problems here, and I will definitely return if needed. read more

They ran around, completely overwhelmed for over 15 minutes , while 2 customers waited. We finally left and stopped by the Crofton location and got Amazing service! Super friendly and helpful. I called this store in regards to a package that was shipped from here. The associate answer and asked me to hold so I did. 12 minutes later, the line hung up on me. So I called back. The automated machine came on and placed me on hold.... three minutes later the line hangs up. Then I call back again, now the machine says they are closed. Checking their store hours, they aren't suppose to close for another 28 minutes. I wasted more than half an hour on hold for nothing. Terrible. Terrible. Terrible read more

Arrived 10 minutes before closing. (It's currently 5 min before closing.) The desk attendant tells me that they are about to close. I respond that my timing is perfect because they're still open. She tells me that they're not accepting credit cards as one register is closed already and the other only takes cash. Who has cash?? We have used this store for several years now. in the past, we have had periods in which the service was absolutely terrible. Each time, we would speak to the general manager and things would get better for a short time. Then a new staff person would arrive and the cycle starts over again. However, over the last year or so, things have been significantly and consistently better. I've been impressed with the changes in staff training, the cleanliness of the store, the attention to details and willingness to go the extra mile. We feel like a valued member of the team in which they know our company name, quickly gather our packages/mail, and treat us like a welcome guest. Even when the are understaff due to shortages, they are jumping from the back to front, register to register, customer to customer, helping as many people as possible. read more

I come to this site often to return packages to Amazon. On New Year's Eve (12/31/21), the website listed they would be open until 7:00 and closed on New Year's Day however, when I arrived there at 5 o'clock they had locked the door and would not let anyone in. The staff was in the store and the female employee just put her hand across her neck to indicate they were closed. I had four boxes ready to return to Amazon. They had no sign on the door saying they were going to be closed at this time. They should be more considerate to the customers in this area with the amount of business they receive. Thankfully I can always find one of these locations when I need to send something and do not feel like standing in a line for 45 minutes at the post office. "The Good" - The place was very clean, also a plus for a first impression. - They have all the supplies you would need to mail or copy documents. - They make nametags... there is your random fact for the day. - They have something similar to a PO Box but the address is not a PO Box. "The Meh" - After explaining that I just wanted to send a package to Canada three times and there was no rush, the lady behind the counter told me they could get it there in two days for $126.00... I reminded her again that there was no rush.... so it dropped down to under $5.00 including the package. "The Bad" - Parking in this area is a Charlie Foxtrot. There is a Starbucks and a Popeyes a few doors down. The Bank next door has some reserved spots but no luck for the UPS store. read more

Lazy and incompetent. I brought in two boxes to ship going to two separate addresses. The sales associate threw them into a plastic bag and did not put their labels on or put them into their shipping boxes. It cost me $43 and the associate couldn't be bothered to box my packages up when I asked her to. She stated there were cameras and they weren't gonna steal my stuff and I told her that wasn't my concern. My concern was paying $43 for shipping and all I see are my unlabeled boxes thrown into a bag that she will get to later. Piss poor attitude and service. Will not be returning. read more

Been using this location for a few years to ship out packages, mostly pre-paid, some ups will print the label for some returns. Never had an issue. Always fast, friendly service. Minus one star because the parking can be tricky and my vehicle was sandwiched In by a ups truck who parked in the handicap access space. Another time my vehicle got dinged because again the ups driver picking up parked in the white striped portions of the handicap space for van accessibility. I have a family member who is handicap and this made those two instances annoying. But I've been here so many times mostly it works out as planned. read more

I frequent this UPS because it is closer to my home; however, on December 1 I visited the store to ship some returned items. The UPS representative gave me three bags and told me to bag my own stuff. The other UPS representative stated they were busy and I only needed to comply like everyone else. The conversation between the two of them while customers were in the store was very unprofessional. The lady made a comment that we people should be treating each other better. I asked her who was we people. Just because we have the same skin color doesn't make me your people. She then said to me she lives in Capital Heights. I that moment I felt threatened and left the store. These two people should be reprimanded or not be in the front of the house working with customers. I ended up going to the UPS off of Crain Highway where they greeted me professionally and bagged my merchandise for me. This is the service I've come to expect when I ship my goods from UPS. read more

I'm confused how other ups stores have allowed me to drop off usps returns with NO issues but this location says they do not do this? Shouldn't the policies be consistent especially considering they are the outlier? What a waste of time. I meant to give 0 stars or negative if it were possible. I mailed two packages from this store to San Francisco as I have moved here. Paid more than $200 for the two boxes with insurance. Expected delivery date was Jan 9th and I needed the stuff right away. Today is Jan 14th and I haven't seen my packages yet. Turns out one landed in San Jose to a person by my name. Luckily the girl returned it (San Jose UPS called and told me that). Today it is doing something in Lathrop, CA. I thought SJ - SF is closer than SJ-Lathrop-SF! The website says next scheduled event is Jan 18th! These guys got the city wrong as well as the street no. (827 instead of 872). Thanks to the San Jose guy who called and shared these details. I told him the correct address as well as a lady at Bowie. Hoping to see my packages soon. Some staff may be polite at this Bowie store but some are very uncooperative and rude. I do not recommend this store to anyone who needs a reliable service. Update 01/16/2018: The reason it was in Lathrop was because they sent it back to MD! The San Jose and Bowie together couldn't correct the address. The guy at Bowie tells me that I will be charged again to have it shipped back to SF!!! And there was not a single word of apology and more of an attitude. I wish the recordings of the call were made public for all to hear. I asked for the manager's contact. He refuses and takes my contact details saying his manager will contact me instead. They assume we have all the time in the world to fix their mistakes. Their service is sounding like that of third world countries and not United States. Update 01/19/2018: So my package is back to square one - in Bowie MD instead of SF, CA. One that luckily arrived had books I needed for my work. Eight days after (01/17) expected arrival date (01/09), I receive my precious books in the condition shown in the pictures I posted on google reviews. A new book gifted to me has entire cover missing (no where in the box), two books of more than 1000 pages each are torn apart. They are smelling weird and have black dirty marks as if fell into dirty water. One of the small ones has its cover damaged. And still I haven't been contacted by the manager despite giving my contact details to the guy. I have decided to live without the stuff I needed so much as I cannot trust them with my belongings. My friends will keep my stuff in their house. What happens to my money? Let's see if and when the manager contacts me and what he has to say about 1) damage to my books 2) getting the address wrong (wrong city is most surprising, wonder who was on duty that day) 3) not fixing the address despite my call to their office to get it right 4) my package landing back in their office 5) attitude of their staff and 6) reason for delay in contacting me given that 'the guy' got my contact details assuring the manager will contact me. read more

Had the misfortune of using this company to ship a expensive guitar, the clerk did not inform me that the company had a policy concerning shipping musical instrument, did not inform me that the case would need to be put into another case. I insured the guitar against damage. When the instrument arrived at it's destination the case was extremely damaged, it appear to have been handle very roughly. UPS denied the claim , citing it's company policy regarding musical instrument. A policy that I was not informed of at the time of shipping. Not a company that I will use again. read more

The young, slim, light complexion female (about 5'6-5''7) that works here is the most rude, ghetto, and unprofessional worker I've ever met. She yelled at me spoke very aggressively for simply asking about some USPS mail, which this UPS DOES do. She said they didn't do the type of package I had which I questioned because other UPS stores do. To be clear, many UPS STORES will send USPS mail. Anyway, she continued to get smart and raise her voice stating each one has a different owner and they don't don't do that (again despite the huge sign that they do). That's fine but, She has a disgusting attitude. She claims to be the owners daughter and she needs to be FIRED period. I can't imagine her being employable elsewhere if without the help of nepotism. She went on and on about how they have million dollar homes and they live on capital hill. I don't know if that was her trying to compensate for being ghetto, loud, and inappropriate, but it was very unseemly. She said her attitude didn't matter because they make plenty of money. PEOPLE, DO NOT DO BUSINESS HERE. They don't care about their customers period and they even charge $2.00 just to tape a package. I've not seen this in any other UPS. I paid $70.00 to get my child's present delivered by Fri., even writing the address down for the clerk. He left off an important bit, and now it's languishing at a center only a few miles from the recipients door for THREE entire days. UPS refuses to deliver it, and refuses to let it be picked up. This is about this store's alleged notary services. On their website, as well as google ad they claim that they have notary services. However the other day the clerk laughed and told us the notary was not in, fair enough it was Saturday. What really made me mad is that when asked what days we could get a document notarized, she said the notary did not keep set hours and there was no way to set up an appointment. I am sorry but it's false advertising to claim your business has a service it effectively does not. I am sotired of how businesses think its ok to offer sub par service like not keeping regular hours, or at least warning customers to call ahead and check. read more
