This is a small shipping center - but don't let its size or location fool you! Looks like a family owned business (and I'd prefer to support them rather than a large corporation). I actually came for finger printing for my new job, and this was the fastest I have ever had it done. The service I received was quick, and the person I interacted with was friendly and explained other services they offer there as well. I'm looking forward to returning to use it as a mailing/shipping center, and they sold some other knick knacks there as well. read more

This is a small UPS/FEDEX/USPS shipping and dropoff point. It's located on Guilford avenue in an "OK" small shopping center. Very convenient for me, and I love the full service. If I have UPS packages to ship that I've already boxed and labeled, I just walk in and put them in the UPS outgoing area. No need to talk to the counter guy. For USPS packages, they charge a nominal 50 cent fee to take your package and hand it over to USPS. You can buy packaging boxes and materials there, and/or they can box for you. Friendly and professional. I recommend. read more

I've been charged anywhere between $0 to $20 for a package here, and spent 6 hours on the phone with UPS trying to track a medical package because even though UPS's tracker was down, the guy who works the counter here couldn't be bothered to look for it thoroughly. Cost me almost $14 to ship a small package (a single crewneck) within the city. Owner said it was because it weighed over a pound but I don't recall even seeing him weigh it. For comparison I've shipped the exact same item with the post office for $6-$7. The guy was nice but charging more than double for shipping services is something I can't get passed. read more

Overcharges and doesn't even get it right. Detailed explanation below. Don't come here unless you like paying $60.30 for a direct signature that should have cost $14.19. To make matters worse, they didn't even pay Fedex for a signature, so you don't get one even tho you paid $60.30 for a $14.19 signature. You get the idea. Update: final insult to injury: they send an email offering to "send your paper work with signature delivery free of charge again." Thanks but no thanks. Again, what I needed costs $14.19, you charged me $60.30. That doesn't even remotely make up the difference, not to mention the time and trouble I have to go through and do everything over again since they failed to do it right the first time. read more

Living in Greenmount West, I used Flashmail at 822 Guilford frequently over the years for mailing packages as well as notary services, and this spring (2022) I rented a mailbox while I was preparing to move. Given how at risk package delivery has become within the City, it was reassuring to know that my packages were received and kept at Flashmail. When I went to pick up my school books today, I was told that the next time I would have to pay a dollar fee per package to pick up. I already pay iPostal $9.99 per month for 30 mail items. I probably get about 10 mail items per month so I'm well below the threshold. I always get notified of my packages arriving when they are sent through Amazon or FedEx due to the text messaging features that I have set up. The owner tells me days later when my packages arrive (through the iPostal app/website). For example, I picked up my iPostal packages today. I never got an email saying they had arrived from the owner. I only knew they were there because Amazon texted me FIVE days ago to let me know. Therefore, I'm appalled that I would be asked to start paying a dollar for each item I pick up, when he could never notify me on the same day my packages arrive. I went home and cancelled my service with iPostal. If you are going to charge for a service, than you need to be providing the service to the full extent. read more

I've been navigating passport renewal hell for the past month, and today was the last day I could get my picture taken and send in my material if I'm going to make my trip. Kinko's camera was broken, apparently every post office in the Baltimore area is booked solid with picture appointments until April, and it was snowing and all the other places were closed. Flash Mail was open, the propertier was super friendly and helpful. I'm very grateful for his help and a rarity in Mt. Vernon with a parking lot. Will definitely be back! read more

I have been a happy customer for over a year. I came to Flashmail after having plenty of awful experiences with Baltimore post offices. I have had only positive interactions with Ravinder, the owner, who I find helpful and quite personable. I like that he tries to get to know his customers. I know for sure that the cost to rent a mailbox at Flashmail is cheaper than renting a USPS box. If you expect to receive packages from UPS or FedEx (as well as USPS), you would do well to get a mailbox at Flashmail. With a USPS box, you won't see your packages for days. At Flashmail, everything you receive is available immediately. Regarding shipping costs, I don't count my pennies, so I can't say with conviction if the store is exactly average or not for pricing. I don't remember ever being alarmed at my shipping costs, however. Also, there is never much of a line, unlike most shipping stores. There is always free parking available in the lot out front; a huge plus! Overall I recommend, and it feels nice to support a small business. read more

This is a locally owned business that I have used for the past five years. Owner is nice and helpful. I was moving and he suggested ways to save on shipping items. He also helped me package items so they would not break during transport. When he couldn't find the correct size box for my bike, he let me leave it in his store and spent the evening packaging it up. It was shipped out early next day. Yeah, I could only wish I had the same experiences that everyone else with the five stars are talking about. But unfortunately that's not the case. I've been here about 5 times and every time he tries to nickel-and-dime me for taping up a package. I might as well just go to FedEx where they will seal my package with a piece of tape for free. I just wanted to support a local mom and pop business but when they try to nickel-and-dime you for everything I'll go somewhere with actual customer service. Dude didnt even bother to help me put my labels on my packages I had several and he did not even bother to help when it was just me and him in the space. And yes, i asked. I live in the neighborhood and have been to this place a number of times. The owner is always very helpful, suggesting ways I could save money. He also always helps me tape up boxes when needed for no charge. Recently I walked to a UPS Store (1 mile away) with a friend where she was told she would have to pay $5.50 to print a shipping label, and was overcharged for other services. We left and walked to Flashmail where we paid half the price to print the same label. Please support this small business - we don't have many options in this area! read more

I ship out on average about 10 packages a week. Not a lot, but enough for it to be a hassle to have to stand in line at the post office. 1. At Flashmail, they accept UPS, Fedex, and USPS packages, which is awesome because I will never forget that time that I stood in line for 30 minutes at the Hampden post office only to realize that one of my packages needed to be sent through UPS. (Why did they have to choose such a similar name!?!?) 2. I always print out my labels at home, package everything, and just drop it off. OF COURSE they are going to charge you if you want tape or boxes. Nothing in this world is free! Even at the us post office, they may charge you for tape... 3. I've never had to wait in line. Even when there were other people in front of me, the proprietor prioritizes and asks what everyone in line needs. Whenever I tell him that I'm just dropping, he takes my packages from me and then I'm on my way! It can be annoying to have to wait for the person in front of you to write down their shipping addresses, package, etc etc. 4. There's always parking in the front lot. 5. The location is great because it's right off Guilford- you can just make a right into the parking lot. 6. The service I've received has always been really friendly and accommodating. The business seems like its run by a family because I always see the same few people there. Last time I dropped by, he told me to tell all my friends that they are available and ready to ship packages! So here I am, telling yelp! read more

so, i was downtown and needed to drop off a box to return to Zappos. pre-paid shipping label, just needed to tape and send. i've done this at dozens of facilities around the city and country. today, a first: they charged me $1 to take the package, ostensibly to cover the cost of the tape. i paid the convenience charge, but commented that they were the only place that has EVER charged me. she said something about how nothing is free and everything costs. so, if i ever need to pay to ship a package (where they do get a cut), guess where i'm never going to go? read more

Charged me $14 for ten double-sided copies. I paid it because I was desperate, but .69 for each side of a color copy is outrageous and particularly so in poor Baltimore, where options are limited. Guy was nice but it doesn't make overcharging right. Of course he has to cover the cost of the machine but, come ON. Go elsewhere. read more

The service is horrible and there is a crazy expensive service charge added to the cost of every transaction no matter how big or small. I went there yesterday to buy ONE STAMP and the SERVICE CHARGE WAS $1.50 for one stamp! STAY AWAY the service is horrible and you pay through the nose for it. Also when I asked if they could mail out the envelope I paid three dollars to send the unhelpful sales girl said, "um the mail lady is gone but I'm sure someone will take it." Not good. I have been coming to this place for a few years now, and have always been surprised by how much it costs to send anything. Something just didn't seem right, but it was convenient. Today is cost $4.50 just to mail a tiny bubble envelope that only had a flat magnet in it (first class mail). The package wasn't even weighed; he just mentioned something about a flat rate for bubble mailers when I inquired about cost. I couldn't find anything to this effect on the USPS website. This was the last straw. I will not be coming back. Better to just bite the bullet at the real post office if you are just sending standard mail. read more

I have been a satisfied Flashmail customer for about a month, but today they went so far above and beyond that I had to write a review. I received an email that my package had arrived about five minutes before Flashmail closed. I need the contents of the package tonight, and had expected it to arrive earlier in the day. I quickly sent a response to Flashmail asking if they were still open and if I could come in, even though it was almost closing. They said that they could wait after for ten minutes. Unfortunately, I was on the other side of town and don't own a car. On top of that, it was absolutely pouring rain, and in the time it took for my Uber to arrive, I was drenched. Due to storm traffic and rush hour, it took me twenty minutes to get to Flashmail. Singh was still waiting, and not only gave me my package, but offered to let me borrow his umbrella while I waited for an Uber home. On top of that, he wouldn't accept the tip I offered him for staying late for me. I can't think of any way the customer service tonight could have been better.
