The employees here never open on time (9 am), I have waited outside with other people from 9-9:25 until the point where I would be late for class on campus at 9:40. When they are open, they move slowly, a short line of 2 people can still take 10-20 minutes. I went to the store to pick up my package at 4pm on Wednesday, but the store was already closed. On the UPS website, it says that the hours of operation are supposed to be from 9am to 6pm on Wednesday. What a waste of time! read more

I'm amazed at how bad the customer service is here. I would have assumed that anyone who works at a shipping store would consider it his job to help people ship things. Guess I'm kind of naive. Guy seemed REALLY annoyed that I wanted to ship something, kept trying to find reasons why I couldn't ship them. (such as no packaging large enough for a 350-page document, then really annoyed when I pointed out large- enough packaging,) Then, when upon leaving I double-checked that the package would arrive overnight, the guy shrugged. I got fingerprinted here once for a job. I also have mailed a few letters/packages here. The atmosphere here is quiet and dead. The workers do not make the experience any more uplifting. They are not customer friendly and cannot start or carry on a conversation. However, they get the job done and the prices are what they are. Usually just come here to drop off my netflix dvds (which they put in their outgoing mail). They never object even though they arent making any money. Sometimes I will also buy mailing supplies here. They are slightly more expensive than walgreens or target however. read more

I don't like to use my time to write bad reviews but I'm really disappointed with the service here. I showed up to twice to pick up my package but when I initially showed up, the lights were on but no one was there. I had checked Yelp before coming and made sure I came during their posted hours. I waited for a little bit but no one showed up so I just figured there was a change in hours due to the virus. I came again to pick up my package, once again no one was there. When the employee actually showed up, she was rude and angry that I had come before their opening hours which was apparently 12 pm. I explained to her that the Yelp hours were different but she stated that the hours change constantly because of the virus. I understand that because of quarantine that everything is difficult and it's a frustrating time for all of us. But it'd be considerate to put a simple sign on the wall stating the hour changes or whenever you leave the store. You can't simply expect the customer to know of these changes without them having been notified. Especially, if this was a one-time thing, but this has happened more than once even before the quarantine. read more

I was in and out within three minutes. Gopi was extremely helpful and answered all of my questions when I visited this UPS store to return a jacket I bought online. Unfortunately, some customers choose let their frustrations with corporate UPS influence their interactions with employees at this *franchise* UPS store. I've had positive experiences at this store. The lone staff person always remembers me by name and knows when a package is waiting for me.

Went to mail a DHL package -- although the DHL website says this store is a drop-off point, apparently this is no longer the case. However, the store employee (Gopi) was very nice and helped us find another place where we could drop off the package. He even gave us a free DHL envelope and plastic label covers. Overall very friendly, accommodating service. read more

Avoid The UPS Store at 2512 Telegraph Ave., Berkeley, if you have any other option. I went in to return an Amazon purchase. Priya scanned the Amazon return code and printed a label. I asked for a receipt. Priya said she could not provide a receipt. (My wife recently returned an item to Amazon at the same store, asked for, and received a receipt, so I know it is possible.) I asked if she could give me a copy the shipping label. She said no. I was looking at a bank of copy machines. (I was willing to pay for the copy.) I asked for her name. She refused to give it to me. So I took a picture of the merchandise on your counter and Priya. Then she wrote down her name for me. Given her hostile behavior I am not confident she gave her real name. I asked for her manager's name and phone number. She refused. She then refused to accept my shipment. She told me The UPS Store is not UPS, and I should take the shipment to UPS at the airport. She ordered me to take my merchandise and leave the store, which I did. Unbelievable! read more

For the past few years I've had to use this store just because of its convenient location, but besides that there's not much going for it. Hours are definitely unpredictable, I like to call before I take a package there just to make sure I'm not going for naught.. but sometimes you'll be surprised to see a closed door "or be back in 15 minutes" sign. Interactions with the employee are generally quick, but overall not a great customer service experience. read more

This has nothing to do with the particular store but UPS as a company. I don't know why people choose them over usps. It makes it very difficult when I shop online and they decide to use ups. I know it's going to be a hasslale and/or take a very long time for delivery. Usps is extremely fast and never had any delays. Anyways, a package was shipped from Illinois about two weeks ago using ups. Arrived in a city 9 miles away. Said there was a delay one week ago and this was at the end of the delivery window-- I guess they just put "delay" on the tracking when it doesn't arrive on time. That was 7 days ago. Finally, it departed this location two days ago. Went to south san francisco, then went back to the very same city that it was delayed in and now says out for delivery??? ups is run by a bunch of idiots that like to take packages for joy rides instead of doing their job. read more

This place is pretty weird. I went in to make some copies for a club and the guy seemed to be super desperate for business, offering to make copies for other stuff or a banner (he even pulled out some model banners after I said I didn't need it). It's not very cheap for copies (we had a coupon) and they tried to be tricky and charge more. So yeah, go to Vick's Copy on North Side if you just need copies. read more

Reading the previous posts seems like deja vu. I showed up at 4PM on Friday, only to see a closed store and a sign saying, "back at 5." So unfortunately I decide to trust the sign, show up at 5:10 and shock, look at that!!! Store absolutely closed. That is just rude, not to mention unprofessional. Their hours on the UPS website are always wrong. Do not plan to come here after work. I wouldn't trust them to be open past 5 pm Monday-Friday and definitely not at all on Saturday. I have called for their hours before and those were inaccurate as well (less than 2 months later). read more

I'm not sure why this place gets so many negative reviews. I've been here a couple times. I shipped an iphone I sold via ebay here. It was fairly pricey because the declared value was over $100, which added a couple bucks for insurance. I also dropped a package I was returning to Zappos, and I dropped that box off without issue. I'll be coming here again in a week to ship another item I'm selling via eBay. If I don't update this review, it probably went OK. OTOH, I've always sealed my packages before arriving at this store, but that's because I work in a lab on campus so this location is convenient for me. read more
